Chapter 26: Confrontation With The Hunters
He ran through Mystic Ruins and passed through many bushes until he came to Station Square. He hid back behind a bush and watched all the vampires attacking humans. He looked in every direction trying to find that one hunter who killed his brother. The wolf snarled and looked around, hoping Abraham was here. He didn't see him, though
Where is he? I thought he would've made an appearance with all the ruckus in the city! Sonic growled to himself in annoyance.
The wolf snarled and saw a hunter. If Abraham wasn't here, he may as well kill some hunters. He approached the hunter from the back and snarled. Once the hunter heard the snarl they turned and saw the wolf, but couldn't get a weapon out in time before he lunged. The wolf howled and bit the hunter. He was about to kill him when something rammed into him, causing the hunter to flee. Sonic growled and turned in the direction of who had interrupted his meal. A person stood there, and looked at him. It was Eph. Nora, Knuckles and Blaze stood behind him.
Sonic changed back to normal and growled at him. How dare you interrupt me when I was about to feed!
Eph looked at him. "You'll pay for infecting Abraham."
When Sonic heard this, he grinned. Oh, that's his name. I wanted to know the name of the hunter that killed my brother. His grin widened a little more as one side of his face was shadowed by the night. Before I kill him.
Eph stared at him, shocked. Knuckles frowned, glaring angrily at the Master. Then, the echidna began to shout. "Why are you doing this Sonic!? This isn't like you at all!" Knuckles yelled at him.
Sonic looked at Knuckles and grinned, showing his fangs. I didn't know you were the reasonable type, Knux. I thought you wolf always jump into battle without thinking though...times do change.
"He's doing this because he must," Blaze said.
The Master looked at her, confused, as did the others. He shrugged and looked at Eph. Anyways, I don't regret what I did to your hunter friend. He deserved it after what he did, Sonic told them as he glared at the two members he didn't know.
Eph frowned, and Nora spoke up. "He deserved it? For killing one you?" She scoffed and folded her arms. "I find it hard to believe that he deserved what he got when its your kind that's killing innocents."
That seemed to set Sonic off. He lunged at Nora and pinned her against a buildings as the other hunters watched in shock. Sonic gripped her neck tight as he glared at her face. He deserved what he got because he killed an innocent CHILD!
Nora tried to get out of the Master's grip, but the vampire was too strong. The Master growled; none of them understood. Tails was his best friend, his brother. It didn't matter if he was a vampire.
Sonic looked at her neck and smirked. You know, I'm still pretty thirsty... He was about bite her when she grabbed a Coker knife from her belt and slashed his chest. He screeched in pain and let her go. He held his chest and glared at her through gritted teeth. You...PEST!
Nora took this chance to escape, but Sonic appeared in front of her. His stinger came out of his mouth, ready to feed on her. Nora smirked and held her pocket knife as the stinger came at her and cut into it with her knife. Sonic cried out in pain and brought the stinger back into his mouth and growled. There was blood leaking from the corner of his mouth from where his stinger had been cut. You are really starting to annoy me.
The female human chuckled and nodded. Sonic snarled and turned into a wolf, then pounced on Nora, wounding her as he raked his claws on her chest. The others finally decided to stop watching and join the fight. Knuckles punched Sonic off Nora which earned a growl from the wolf. Eph got out a sword and ran at Sonic. The wolf transformed back to normal and dodged all of Eph's blows. He smirked, and looked at Blaze, wondering how far along her vampire transformation was.
Blaze decided to keep up the act to the resistance that she'd join in too. She threw a fireball just as Sonic was dodging Eph's sword and it flew past his left shoulder, burning it. Sonic growled in pain and grabbed the burn. He was becoming tired. He hadnt had anything to feed off of and he was weakening. Sonic snarled and lunged at Eph. The human was ready, and countered with his sword.
Sonic saw the sword coming at him and dodged, snarling at the human. He was wounded and thirsty. He had to flee. He had no other choice. They weren't going to allow him to go into a building populated with humans to get himself something to feed off of. They'd try and kill him while he was feeding. He needed to flee back to the cave or to Mystic Ruins and find something that will stop his thirst for the time being. The Master turned into a bat and flew off as the other vampires followed him. Sonic flew back to the cave and transformed back to normal, collapsing on the cold gravel. He got to his feet and walked into the cave as the other vampire arrived and their weakened Master.
Master, you need to feed, Shadow said.
The Master nodded. I know that, Shadow. Sonic growled as he looked at the ground with clenched fists. Those damn hunters got in my way! He stood up and hissed, looking around. The other vampires stepped back. I'm going to go out to find something to feed off of. All the vampires looked hesitant to say what was on their minds. They saw the wounds that was on their Master and knew if he came across those hunters again he wouldn't stand a chance. Their Master was weakened from his wounds and from not feeding.
I'll come with you, Shadow said. Just to be safe.
The Master nodded and ran into the forest, followed by Shadow. Sonic ran through Mystic Ruins, searching for anything that he could feed off to give him that little bit more strength to go back to Station Square, get past the hunters and get a full meal. It was then he saw a deer and turned into a wolf, then lunged at the animal. The deer had no time to run as the wolf attacked it. Sonic was about to bite the deer's neck when he heard a rustle of bushes from where the deer had come from. He looked in that direction and saw a fawn. Sonic growled to himself. He may have killed hundreds of humans, but right now he wasn't in the mood to slaughter a mother deer. The wolf cautiously backed away and walked off, looking for other animals to kill. He transformed back to normal and watched the Mother deer get off the ground and to her baby. Sonic felt a slight pang in his undead heart at watching that. He wanted to feel a mother's love that he never had. That's probably why he let her go.
The Master sighed and looked around. Finally he set his sights on a wolf and smirked, then attacked and drank its blood. After he had finished he wiped his mouth and stood up and glared in the direction of Station Square. His wounds healed slowly as it needed more than a small amount of animal blood to fully heal.
Don't you hunters get too comfortable saving the humans. I'm just getting warmed up! Sonic smirked, showing his fangs as he transformed into a bat.
He screeched and flew off as Shadow followed him.
