Hello world! Sorry for the lateness! But here we are... fresh new chapter!
Autumn finally fell asleep against Dove in the early morning hours of the morning. She was awoke to her phone ringing, as always it was Henry.
"You would have done well in our world Henry… always waking me up at the break of dawn."
"It's eleven thirty." Henry started. "And why aren't you here?!
"Why would I be there?" she groaned, blinking at the morning light.
"Your Dad, my mom and I are all going to go and find your brother." He said, Autumn sprung up.
"What? He's trying to leave without me?" she said.
"Umm.. I guess." He said.
"I'll be right there." She hung up, ran up the stairs and started packing. She packed her fur coat, three pairs of her favorite shoes, four of her most expensive dresses, three winter one summer, just in case, her china silk night gown, two gloves, one leather and one leather with fur cuffs to match her coat. She shoved it all in the suitcase. Then she grabbed her red peacoat with the black fur collar. If she was going to meet her brother, she was going to look her absolute best. She walked downstairs and carrying her suitcase.
"And where do you think you are going?" Dove said, looking at the suitcase and backpack filled with overnight stuff.
"I'm going with my Dad to find my brother." She said defiantly.
"It looks like you're going away for a month." He chuckled.
"I only packed the essentials." Autumn huffed.
"You're not going with your father. He asked me to look out for you, here." Dove said.
"I'm going." Autumn said sternly.
"Rose…" Dove sighed, but Autumn concentrated and poofed away. All she heard was Dove calling her name, then she was on the sidewalk next to her Father's car with all her luggage. She tried the door handle and it was unlocked, like usual. No one was going to steal the Dark One's car. She put her stuff in the back seat and got in herself, locking the door behind her and freezing it shut for good measure. A moment later Dove drove up next to the car. He got put and tried the door. "Rosalynn. Your father said you are staying here…" he pulled harder. "Did you freeze this shut?" Autumn ignored him. Dove cursed and pulled his cell phone out. Autumn bit her lip, knowing that he was calling her father. She bit her lip, waiting. Them her father came out of the building with Emma and Henry.
"Rosalynn… get out of the car." He bellowed.
"You were going to leave to get my brother without me." She said back.
"Rosalynn…"
"With Cora here." Autumn added. Gold didn't say anything. "You think she couldn't core a hole through the armorless black knight over there?" Gold glared at Autumn, but sighed in defeat.
"Looks like you'll have company Henry… Unfreeze the door so he can get in." Gold gruffed and him and Emma got in the front seats, Autumn unfroze the door and Henry got in and Dove leaned in.
"Bye little Missus…" he sighed, he did sound a little bit impressed. Henry got in and as they drove Emma said.
"So that is one way to get what you want" Emma said.
"You have no idea." He gruffed.
"Princess.." Autumn emphasized that word, "Of the Dark Castle." Was all she had to say. Her father was so annoyed with her at the moment. Then the tension mounted as they neared the town line.
"You have your necklace right Autumn?" he asked.
"No Papa… I just figured I'd wing it." Autumn rolled her eyes. Gold double checked in the rearview mirror and he drove across the town line.
"Well… did it work?" Emma asked.
"My Name is Rumpelstiltskin… and we are going to find my son." He said, Autumn sighed.
"Dun dun duuunnn…." Autumn said under her breath, making Henry snort.
"And Autumn is fine too." Gold said.
"So where are we going?" Henry asked.
"The Airport." Gold said,
"And after that?" Autumn asked.
"You'll see." He sighed. The drive to the airport was silent. Autumn was looking out her window in a speechless excitement. The real world looked like Storybrooke but this trip meant so much more to Autumn. This was her adventure. They pulled into the long term parking structure at the airport, paid the machine and walked into the terminal to be greeted by a line.
"What are we in line for?" Autumn asked Emma.
"Security check…" Autumn stared at Emma weird. "Your shoes slip off… right?"
"Yes… why?"
"You need to take them off…" Emma started.
"These tights are from Milan… and I am to walk across this disgusting floor?"
"Yes. Everyone does. Deal with it." Emma said.
"Fine… but you better watch Dad." Autumn lifted her eye brows. Henry was next and slipped his jacked and scarf and put it in a bin. Then his shoes and walked through a gate looking device. Autumn mimicked and then asked one of the uniformed people at the gate, "Do I have to take my jewelry off?"
"No, go." He said rudely. Autumn walked through and Henry had already retrieved her things.
"Here you go Autumn." He said. Autumn thanked him and started putting on her shoes when she heard her father said loudly.
"Have you ever been impaled upon a cane before?"
"Go Dad." She muttered.
"He might get us on the no fly list." Henry said. "Cool."
"Have you ever been on an airplane?" Autumn asked, already knowing the answer but she felt better asking.
"No. But Emma has." He said, he looked at something behind her, "Cinnabon." He said and took Autumn by the hand and dragged her over to the adults. "Emma! They have a cinnabon"
'Go get some kid." Emma smiled.
"Here… On me." Gold pulled a small envelope out of his pocket. "I magicked this up before we left." He gave it to Autumn. She opened it and a second accesser card for his black credit card was in her hands, but the big name was Autumn Gold. "Now you have access to all my funds."
"Thank you Papa." Autumn said, jaw slightly opened.
"Hopefully it will also lessen your annoyance with me?" he asked.
"Lessened." She hugged him and went with Henry to get cinnabon, "So… what is a cinnabon?"
"You'll see." He said, as he ordered two boxes and Autumn paid, and he handed her a piece of the warm cinnamon something. She popped it in her mouth and her eyes widened.
"Oh… oh my gods." And they started walking back to the adults.
"So… are you scared to meet your brother?" Henry asked.
"Terrified, which is weird because usually I've made it rain or snow or some other annoying force of nature." She giggled, then it dawned on her. "Wait." She pointed at the floor, nothing.
"What?" Henry asked.
"I don't have magic…" she whispered then shook him. "Its gone."
"We should go tell your Dad." Henry said,
"No…" Autumn said. "He might make us go back."
"What?"
"He might not want to go anymore." Autumn said, "Let's see if he figures out… if he doesn't, we can tell him after we get off the plane at our destination."
"But isn't this something we should tell an adult?" Henry asked.
"Henry… do you know what his rule was back home? Home, home?" she asked.
"Yeah… you couldn't leave the castle grounds."
"And at Snow's castle… guess what it was?" Autumn said.
"You couldn't leave?" he asked, uncertain.
"Then I was cursed, then that curse was lifted and when I thought I could leave the town…"
"People lose their memories crossing the town line. So, again, you couldn't leave." Henry cut her off knowingly,
"Exactly. This is my first time doing anything! Please, please, please don't take this away from me." Autumn begged. Henry nodded.
"Alright…" he smiled, then they came back and Gold was gone.
"Where's Dad?" Autumn asked. "Did he threatened someone again?"
"No." Emma said, "He had to use the restroom."
"Oh… Okay."
"Did you guys really order 2 boxes?"
"I'm petitioning for one in Storybrooke." Autumn said, licking her fingers. There was a voice over the loud speaker.
"All those on flight 37 Maine to New York will board in 20 minutes." She said.
"Henry, will you go get Mr. Gold?" Emma said, then she looked at the tickets. "These are first class."
"Is that bad?" Autumn asked.
"No… it's just wow. I've never been first class anything…" Emma said, looking down.
"You're first class to me Em." Autumn said leaning on her.
"Thanks Kid. So, your first time on a plane?" Emma asked.
"First time anywhere, actually."
"Really?" Emma was shocked. "I thought everyone in the Enchanted Forest did nothing but have adventures." She chuckled.
"Psshhh." Autumn scoffed. "With the grounds and courtyards included, Storybrooke is actually smaller than the castle I grew up in."
"I shared a room with another person my entire life." Emma sighed.
"I saw your nursery, I helped decorate it. You would have had an entire wing… if that makes you feel better." Autumn muttered.
"It does." Emma said as Henry came back.
"He didn't respond. But I think he heard me." Henry said. A few minutes later Gold caught up to them.
"There you are. We're first class, and you're technically with a handicap so we board first." Emma said.
"Yes. I should hope so." He said quietly. He held out his arm to usher Autumn along and she obeyed. They got to the line and boarded the plane. Autumn sat next to Henry and the adult sat in the two seated row behind them.
"You doing okay kid?" Emma asked.
"Yes Emma." The two chorused.
"The only thing that would make today better is more frosting." Henry said.
"Mhmmm! Daddy, we need to buy a cinnabon for the town when we get back."
"Of course Princess." Gold responded flatly. Autumn turned and offered him the box.
"What one…" she trailed off, his hand was wrapped in paper towels and blood was seeping through.
"No thank you, love. Buckle up, we'll be taking off soon." He said, Autumn nodded and did as she was told. After the safety lecture she leaned over to Henry.
"He knows about not having magic." She said.
"And he's still going to go on this trip." Henry said. "That's brave of him."
"What do you mean?" Autumn scrunched her nose. "Emma has been like all over without magic."
"Yea, but she's never had it. Magic makes your Dad feel safe, and still pushing through without his safety is really brave." Henry smiled, so did Autumn. About an hour and a half later, after waiting forever for luggage, they were all piling into a cab, and Gold gave him an address and they went off. Autumn looked out the window, then looked up.
"Wow… I've never seen anything so tall…" she gasped.
"You can kind of see the Empire State Building over there." Emma pointed out. "For the longest time, it was the tallest building in the world."
"It's magical." Autumn said, that earned her a warning tap from her father. She mouthed 'what' but all he did was give her a stern look. She sighed as they pulled up to the building. Gold paid the man and they looked up at a tall apartment building,
"That magic globe thingy didn't give you an apartment number, did it?" Emma asked.
"Magic Globe thingy? An Oraculum? We don't have an Oraculum, where did you get one of those?" Autumn said,
"I had one for a rainy day. Come on." He ushered them all inside. They were met with a locked door.
"What do we do now?" Autumn asked.
"We get buzzed in." Emma said.
"How can we know which one…" Autumn started.
"He's in this one." Emma asked.
"Or it could be vacant." Gold said gruffly.
"Trust me, finding people who don't want to be found is kind of my thing." Emma said. "He's in that one." She pressed the buzzer and spoke "UPS package for Apartment 411." Then there was some static, but nothing. Gold had an 'I told you so' face, until there was a creak and out the window a figure jumped from a ladder.
"He's running." Emma said. They all went out the door.
"The deal was you get him to talk to me… I can't run." Gold said to Emma.
"Watch Henry…" she said.
"I've got them both." And Emma ran off. Autumn and Henry stood back in shock as Gold limped over to them.
"Don't worry Mr. Gold. Emma will catch Baelfire." Henry said,
"He's… he's been running for a long time." Gold sighed.
"But catching people is what Emma does." Autumn said, they all sat on a bench, Autumn looked at the sidewalk where her brother and Emma both disappeared down. She wished she could see the outcome of this.
I have to say this... I LOVE writing sarcastic, smart mouth Autumn! Hehehe next chapter, we need Bae, and he meets his lovely little sister. Till then! Also the plane scene, I know it's kind of lame, I have never actually flown on a plane... or been in an airport.
