I do not own Harry Potter.
1:30 AM
Harry arrived at Somerset House in London and was instantly confused. There were limo's lining the whole area, a red carpet was laid out and there were roped off areas where hundreds of people were congregating. Noticing that his attire didn't blend in he quickly changed it to a muggle tuxedo. He surveyed the area several times to try and find a way in but found security was everywhere. Frowning he checked Rose's note one more time to make sure he had the right place. Once confirmed, he moved forward to the main entrance to try and get inside. He passed by numerous security guards until he got to the reception area…
"Invitation," said the woman tiredly.
"I don't have it," replied Harry.
The woman rolled her eyes and said, "Name."
"Harry Potter."
"Potter…Potter…. Potter… I don't see a Potter on the list."
"There must be some mistake then. My niece is here already."
"Your niece?" the woman asked skeptically.
"Yes."
"And what is your niece's name?"
"Rose Weasley."
The woman laughed and the security guards chuckled as well.
Not understanding Harry asked, "Did I miss something?"
"You're Rose Weasley's uncle?"
"Yes."
"Rigggght. Well, Miss Weasley didn't tell us to expect you, so I'm afraid you are out of luck."
"Surely you can call her and let her know I'm here."
"I could…"
"Thank you."
"But I'm not going to."
"What? Why not?"
"Because I don't believe you. You think I haven't heard a hundred stories just like yours tonight? You think you're the only one trying to get in without an invitation?"
Harry growled and pulled his phone out of his jacket angrily calling Rose again….
"Hello, this is Harry Potter again, Rose's uncle. I'm at the reception desk but they won't let me in. Could you please put Rose on the phone or have them let me in. I've come to take her home."
Harry waited for several minutes while he heard a muffled conversation taking place on the other end until suddenly…
"Uncle Harry?"
"Yes, Rose."
"Oh my god…"
"Yes. Exactly. Could you please tell security to let me in now."?
Harry waited as Rose told someone to let Harry in and a few seconds later security got a call…. They hung up and turned to Harry, "You're all set to go through. Someone is coming to get you now to bring you to Miss Weasley."
"Thank you."
Harry didn't miss the shocked look on the woman's face as he passed through security to wait on the other side. As he waited he observed what was going on. It seemed like a very posh party with lots of beautiful people dressed in expensive clothing. It was exactly the type of party Harry hated. He couldn't fathom what in the world his niece was doing here. Perhaps she had a boyfriend that brought her here. He also noticed that there were a lot of young people here, partying hard and enjoying themselves. He had to give it to them though they certainly had plenty of security guards around, as well as what looked like lots of undercover agents protecting important people. He was brought out of his observations when a pretty girl approached him, "Mr. Potter?"
"Yes?"
"I'm Tiffany, Rose's assistant. I'm going to bring you back to her now if you'll follow me."
Harry raised his eyebrow and asked, "Her assistant?"
"Yes."
"I didn't realize Rose had an assistant."
Tiffany looked at him curiously and said, "Of course, she's one of the agency's most successful girls."
Harry frowned, not quite understanding but Tiffany added, "We have to get to the other side of the building so stay close," so he nodded and started following her through the crowd. When they finally made it through the bulk of the crowd and were walking towards a set of guarded doors Harry heard someone yell, "Tiffany!"
Tiffany stopped and smiled at the man that was approaching, "Hi Charles."
"Hey, we should get Rose out of here soon. Her mother's not going to be happy she's been here this long. What time did she start today?"
"I think she got to the studio at eight o'clock this morning."
Charles cringed and said, "Oh yes, Gin is most definitely going to be angry."
"Excuse me?" said Harry quite loudly.
Tiffany and Charles jumped in surprise and Tiffany said, "I'm sorry Charles, where are my manners. This is Mr. Potter, Rose's uncle. He's come to take her home."
Charles nodded at Harry and said, "Oh dear, did Gin send you? Is she that angry?"
"Ginny?" asked Harry thoroughly confused? What in the world was going on? First they were talking about how Rose's Mum would be angry and now they're talking about Ginny…almost as if they know her.
"Yes, I imagine she is. I told her I would take care of Rose whenever she wasn't around and I've managed to let her work 18 hours straight."
"Work?" again Harry was so confused.
Tiffany and Charles both looked at Harry curiously but they suddenly heard, "Tiffany!"
The group turned to see another man half running towards them, "Rose wants to go, she just needs to change into her final outfit and say her goodbye's. Could you help her? I've already requested someone to touch up her hair and makeup."
"Yes, of course. I was just headed there now. Oh and Marc this is Rose's uncle, Mr. Potter."
"Yes, Rose just told me her uncle was here to take her home, it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Potter," said Marc, surprising Harry by grabbing his shoulders and kissing both his cheeks.
Harry flushed and said, "Yeah, nice meeting you too." What in Merlin's name was going on tonight?
"We'll have your girl out of here in a half hour tops," promised Marc before he moved on to greet another group in much the same way he greeted Harry.
Harry noticed Tiffany and Charles started to move towards the doors again and he followed closely behind. He kept trying to figure out what was going on… The Auror in him immediately thought it was some sort of escort agency, which was horrifying, then when he heard Ginny's name he figured that was unlikely … but what was Rose doing working here? Perhaps she was a waitress? But why would she leave Hogwarts without telling anyone to waitress? He ran his hands through his hair unable to figure it out. They passed through a couple more secured doors before they finally approached a long hallway with several doors. They stopped in front of the one that simply said, "Rose." Harry noticed there was a very large man standing in front of the door.
"Jake, this is Mr. Potter, Rose's uncle."
Jake seemed to give Harry the once over before he nodded and said, "She's occupied right now, she'll let us know when she's ready for visitors."
Harry looked at him like he was crazy but noticed that both Tiffany and Charles seemed to accept the answer and immediately pulled out their phones to check emails and texts. After a minute he said, "If you could just let her know I'm out here waiting for her." The way Harry said it made it clear it wasn't a request and Jake seemed to get angry but Tiffany interrupted and said, "Yes, Jake, why don't we just let her know. Marc wants me to help her change and I know the others are coming as well."
Jake seemed to hesitate, "She's not alone right now. She asked me to give her a few minutes alone with Justin."
"Who the fuck is Justin?" roared Harry as he grabbed the door handle and threw it open before Jake could stop him. He was not happy at what he found. Rose was leaning back against the wall, while Justin kneeled in front of her scattering kisses along her exposed stomach. Her top was on the floor and her skirt was bunched up somewhat although she was still covered.
The commotion brought both of their attention to the doorway and Rose gasped in surprise.
"I'm sorry Rose, your uncle wouldn't listen," replied Jake angrily. He was holding Harry back and you could see he was quite angry but he was nothing compared to the rage that was radiating off of Harry.
"Get the fuck away from my niece!" he growled
Justin stood up angrily and stormed, "Excuse me? Who the fuck do you think you are talking to me like that?"
"Jake, shut the door!" begged Rose grabbing her shirt and throwing it on.
Jake nodded and closed the door but remained on the inside, not wanting to leave Rose with two angry men.
"Everybody just needs to calm down," said Tiffany stepping in between Justin and Harry.
"Justin, this is Mr. Potter, Rose's uncle. Mr. Potter, this is Justin, Rose's boyfriend. There, now that the niceties are done, let's get back to the task at hand. Rose needs to change into her final outfit and say her goodbyes so that Mr. Potter can take her home. Now, let's get to it Rose. Jake, please let the other's in when they arrive, I'm going to help Rose get changed now."
Jake nodded and opened the door motioning to Justin and Harry that they needed to exit stating firmly, "Men are not allowed in the dressing room when she's changing."
Harry snorted and said, "Perhaps you shouldn't have left him alone with my niece then."
Jake clenched his jaw but didn't budge while Harry turned to Rose, crossing his arms.
"It's alright Jake, I can change behind the privacy screen. I think I need to talk to my uncle alone for a few minutes."
"I've got a couple people I need to talk to so I'll meet you out there," said Justin before he left.
Harry waited for the others to leave but they didn't seem to get the hint so Rose said, "Would you three mind giving me a few minutes?"
Tiffany, Charles and Jake all seemed surprised but they nodded and left the room, closing the door behind them.
Harry walked around the room taking it all in, stopping at the table filled with flowers and presents. He noticed the photographs and picked one up, turning it to Rose, "Is this you?"
"Yes."
Harry looked at it again and after several tense moments he said, "You're a model?"
"Yes."
"I had no idea."
"That was sort of the point."
Harry frowned and asked, "Why?"
"It wasn't just you I was hiding it from, it was everyone."
"Except Ginny?"
Rose seemed surprised that he knew and he said, "Charles mentioned her …"
"Oh."
"Is this what you do on your spa weekends?"
"Yes."
Harry nodded and looked through the pictures, "These are quite good, Rose."
Rose smiled and moved to stand next to him, looking down at the photos. She pulled one out from the bottom of the pile and said, "This one is my favorite of the night."
"You're beautiful," said Harry honestly.
Rose blushed and said, "Thank you."
Harry turned and looked at her, really looked at her. She was not a child anymore that much was clear. She was absolutely breathtaking and Harry feared what might happen to her if the wizarding world saw her like this… "Rose, your parents don't know about this do they?"
"No. I tried to get their approval a few years ago when I was approached by the agency to model but my dad absolutely refused. And no matter how much I begged my mum she wouldn't allow it without his OK. I was furious and I raged and stormed for months with them over it before I finally decided to just do it anyway. I explained everything to Aunt Ginny and she seemed to understand what it was like to be overprotected and agreed to help me so that I could give it a try."
Harry nodded in response, thinking furiously, before he said, "Well I'm certainly not happy that you left Hogwarts unprotected without telling me where you were going, but for now let's just get you out of here and back to school. We can talk about it more later."
Rose smiled and pulled him into a hug, surprising him. "I'm sorry I made you worry Uncle Harry."
Harry found that he couldn't speak over the lump in his throat, so he just nodded.
Rose pulled back and kissed his cheek before she let go and moved to the door, opening it and motioning the others back in.
Before he knew it there was half a dozen people in the room. Curious, he sat down on the couch and watched all of them help Rose get ready. He didn't quite understand it as she looked quite beautiful already but he figured it was something that normally happened since Rose didn't seem the least bit flustered by it.
"Here Rose, put this on," said one girl handing a dress over the privacy screen.
A minute later Rose huffed, "No, not this. It's uncomfortable," followed by her tossing the dress back over the screen.
Harry watched the girl turn and move to a rack of clothes, thumbing through them before she grabbed a skirt and a top. "How about this?" the girl asked as she put the outfit over the screen.
Another minute went by and again Rose huffed, "Nope. This isn't going to work either."
Harry saw the girl roll her eyes and turn back to the rack, this time pulling a pair of pants and a tiny top and he instantly said, "No, absolutely no."
The girl seemed surprised and he noticed everyone else had turned to look at him in surprise as well. "She's not wearing that top."
Rose poked her head around the privacy screen and grinned when she saw what Lucy was holding. She grabbed her robe and tied it before stepping out from behind the privacy screen. "Let me take a look at what we have Lucy."
Lucy nodded and moved to the rack with Rose. Several minutes went by and Rose made a noise of protest with every single piece of clothing on the rack. "I don't like any of this!" she pouted and moved to sit on the couch next to her Uncle.
Amused, he watched the group try and make his niece happy.
"I'm so sorry Rose, let me see if Marc has anything else," replied Lucy, quickly leaving the room.
Rose huffed and crossed her arms, laying her head back on the couch and closing her eyes.
"Rose?"
"What?"
"Are you alright?" asked Tiffany moving to sit on the chair next to Rose."
Rose sighed and shook her head, covering her mouth with her hand. To Harry's utter horror she started crying. He looked to the others to see they looked equally horrified.
Tiffany turned to one of the other girls and said, "Go tell Jake to get Charles and bring him here now."
The girl nodded and scurried out of the room. Tiffany then motioned with her hand for the others to leave and they did so quickly. Once the door shut Tiffany asked, "Did you get into another fight with Justin?"
Rose shook her head no and tried to stop crying but she couldn't. "I'm sorry! I…I…I'm just so tired. I got up at 4:30 in the morning to make it to the studio in time."
"Oh Rose," sighed Tiffany, "I'm sorry, I didn't know. You've been up for almost 24 hours now, sweetie."
Rose nodded and Harry wrapped his arm around her shoulders and brought her close. She immediately buried her head in his chest and started sobbing.
Several minutes later the door opened and Marc, Charles and Jake entered, immediately shutting the door behind them. They all made a beeline for her and Marc asked worriedly, "Rose, sweetheart, what's wrong?"
When she mumbled something incoherently Harry translated for her, "She's exhausted. She's been up since 4:30 yesterday morning. It's 2AM now and I'd really like to just take her home."
"Oh dear, Rose. I'm so sorry, I didn't know. Usually your Mum makes sure you don't work too long but I guess without her here we've all pushed you too hard."
Rose turned her head to reach for Marc's hand and said, "Don't be sorry Marc, it's my fault. I should have taken better care of myself today."
"Nonsense, Rose, we're supposed to look out for you," said Charlie and Jake nodded in agreement.
"Can we just find her something to wear so that I can take her home," asked Harry trying to be patient?
"Yes, of course. Rose, Lucy said you wanted something else than what was in your room. What are you looking for?"
Rose laughed and wiped her face again and asked jokingly, "Can I wear sweatpants?"
Everyone chuckled but Marc's eyes lit up and he said, "I have just the thing for you! I'll be right back," and he scurried out of the room.
"I was only kidding," she sighed, leaning against Harry again.
"Rose, why don't you have a quick snack while we wait for Marc to come back," said Charlie as he moved to the table and grabbed a few things that he knew she liked. He sat down in the chair next to her and put his hands out offering her a water and a few snacks. She took the water then grabbed a granola bar smiling at him.
Tiffany began picking up the dressing room, putting clothes back on the rack and then she pulled out Rose's bag. "Rose, do you want to take any of these clothes with you?"
Rose shook her head and said, "No, I'm good Tiffany."
"Are you sure? You seemed to really like the blue dress you wore earlier…"
Rose shrugged and Charlie said, "Why don't we just have them bring it all to Rose's dressing room at the studio and she can decide another day when she's not so tired."
Tiffany nodded and began writing a note, "Bring to Rose Weasley's dressing room the agency," then taped it to the rack.
Rose finished her granola bar and put her water down before reaching to her hair and pulling it free from its updo. She shook her head until her hair had settled somewhat in ringlets down her shoulders and back. "God, that feels so much better," she groaned as she grabbed her water and leaned against the couch again.
Tiffany chuckled and Rose asked teasingly, "What are you laughing at?"
"You. You're so…. real when you're tired."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you always go out of your way to be nice to people and to say please and thank you. You never pull a tantrum like the other models. I guess it's refreshing to know that you're just like the rest of us when you're tired."
Rose smirked and said, "Thanks, I think."
"I've got just the thing!" said Marc happily as he came into the room holding several hangers of clothes.
Rose raised her eyebrows and stood to see what he had.
"It's part of my casual line and I was going to have one of the less popular models wear it but it's exactly what you're looking for. Here, feel," he said putting the pants leg out for her to feel.
Rose's eyes lit up and she said, "Get out! You made clothes out of sweatpants material?"
"You bet I did. It's meant to look like a business suit but it's made out of the softest cotton used to make sweatpants. I have a couple different designs for you to pick from."
"Marc, you are a God send!" squealed Rose, as she grabbed the outfits and moved behind the privacy screen.
Ten minutes later Rose had decided which outfit she was going to wear and there was a flurry of activity as several people began fixing Rose's hair and make up as well as accessorizing her outfit.
"I'd like to keep my hair down," she stated firmly as one girl tried to pull it up again.
Harry watched tiredly, wondering how his niece put up with all these people touching her at the same time. He was exhausted and he had only been here for an hour. Finally, she was ready to and Harry stood up to move to her side.
"Thanks everyone, I really appreciate you're helping me tonight. I know I was a bit of a diva and I'm sorry. I promise next time I'll get a better nights sleep before hand."
The group all hugged and kissed Rose's cheeks before they opened the door and let her out.
"Uncle Harry, stay with me. I just have to say good night to a few people and then we'll head straight out the front door to the limo, which will drop us off at the Leaky."
Harry raised his eyebrows but Rose shook her head slightly in response.
"I still think that is the strangest name for a hotel," said Jake, "But Rose insists on always going there."
"That's not true, I stay at the Ritz all the time!" huffed Rose.
"And the W," added Tiffany helpfully.
"Yeah and the W!"
Jake bowed and said, "You're right, you're right. I'm just teasing you Rose."
"Prat," said Rose pushing on his shoulder.
"Ready Rose?" asked Charlie as they got to the last set of doors that opened up to the ballroom.
"Ready," replied Rose, putting her best smile on.
Harry reached down and held her hand, surprising her. "You'll have to protect me this time, Rose."
She grinned and said, "I'll protect you Uncle."
He chuckled and followed her through the crowds, stopping when she needed to say good-bye to various people. It was a long exhausting walk to the exit and Harry nearly screamed in relief when they were inside the limo.
"Thank god, that's over," sighed Rose, "I'm so exhausted I think I'm starting to see double."
Harry wrapped his arm around her shoulder again and pulled her against him. She sighed happily and snuggled against him, falling asleep almost instantly. The ride to the Leaky didn't take very long and when they got there, Jake stepped out of the car and reached for Rose, surprising Harry.
"She falls asleep every time," he replied in answer as he picked Rose up bridal style and pulled her from the limo.
Harry stepped out and Tiffany got out behind him, pulling Rose's bags out and putting them on Harry's shoulder. Once that was done Jake transferred Rose into Harry's arms.
"Thank you both," replied Harry as he turned to walk into the Leaky
"Tell her we said Goodbye," called Tiffany
"I will," replied Harry as he entered the Leaky.
Tom seemed shocked to see Harry at this late hour and Harry said, "Hi Tom. Would you mind helping me for a minute?"
Tom rushed to Harry's side as Harry began trying to get the bags off his shoulder. "Could you shrink these for me?"
"Yeah, sure," replied Tom as he did just that and put the shrunken bags in Harry's hand, watching him put them in his pocket.
"Do you want me to put a feather light charm on her?"
"No, I"ll do it. Could you just pull my wand out of my pocket here," asked Harry motioning to his left suit pocket.
Tom pulled out Harry's wand and handed it to him, watching him wordlessly apply the feather light charm.
Harry sighed in relief and said, "Thanks Tom."
"No problem Mr. Potter. Do you want to stay here tonight its quite late."
"No, I should get her back to school."
At Tom's raised eyebrows he clarified, "This is my niece Tom, not my date."
"Oooh. Right. Of Course," replied Tom blushing.
"Tom, would you mind keeping this between us? She wasn't supposed to leave school and I'm sure her parents wouldn't be thrilled that I had to go find her and bring her back."
"Of course, Mr. Potter. I understand."
"Thanks Tom, I'll see you later."
Harry made his way into Diagon Alley and then apparated to just outside the gates of Hogwarts. He was surprised Rose didn't wake up; she must have really been exhausted. He slowly made his way through the castle to the new dorms and by the time he got to Rose's room he was equally exhausted. Scorpius stood when he saw Harry carrying Rose and asked, "Is she alright?"
"She's fine. She's just tired." replied Harry motioning towards her door. Scorpius quickly moved to open it and watched Harry place Rose into bed gently. He then took her bags out of his pocket and enlarged them before covering Rose with a blanket and leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
"What time is it?" asked Harry as he plopped onto the couch.
"Four in the morning," replied Scorpius tiredly.
Harry nodded and asked, "Did you wait up this whole time?"
"Yes. I wanted to make sure she was OK."
Harry smiled and said, "Thank you. She's lucky to have such good friends."
Scorpius shrugged clearly uncomfortable with the compliment and Harry said, "Well, I'm off to bed now that everyone is accounted for. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Night."
Author's note: So that's it for Rose, she's home safe! Though she'll have to deal with Harry's wrath when they're both not so exhausted. Any requests for what happens?
