Suspicion
Bae:
After their discussion at Skull Rock, Peter gave Bae a quick overview of the rest of the island, all while making their way back to the main camp site. He'd realized that everything Peter told him were things that Bae had already known, things he'd learned on his own. So, technically, Bae already knew everything he needed to know.
As soon as they reached the camp site, Bae retreated to his tree house.
I need to get a move on.
Over time, he'd had time to construct necessary items that would help with his escape, yet with the news about the needed heart, Bae's escape was put into potential jeopardy. He'd already reviewed is map he'd created several times; he already knew which Lost Boys would help him leave; he already knew how to construct a boat; he knew pretty much everything he needed to know.
Now, all he needed was pixie dust, and something to create a portal.
He also needed to make sure his timing was right.
Soon.
Felix:
"What did he say?" Felix asked Peter as soon as Bae left camp.
Peter related the events to Felix.
"He said he's willing to help," Peter assured.
"Does he understand what you'e saying when you want him to help?"
"He said he'd help find a heart, but he doesn't know that he could possibly be the one we need."
"Do you think he'll ever find out?"
"I have my suspicions that he knows something we don't," Peter truthfully answered to his brother.
"How will we find out? Do I need to ask him myself?"
"You just might need to do that," Peter smiled.
"It'll be my pleasure," Felix loved it when he had power.
"You'll have to ask soon. Take Rufio with you."
"Why? Rufio doesn't do anything."
"Rufio loves him, and maybe Baelfire will appreciate having a follower in the presence."
Tinker Bell:
She heard a knock on her door.
Ever since Tinker Bell made it to Neverland, Peter Pan provided her what seemed to be a little house inside of a tree -not a tree house -but almost like a little underground house where Tinker Bell was able to sleep and keep to herself. The mini staircase leading to her front door was visible enough, but truthfully, only the inhabitants of Neverland knew where to find it. It was quite cozy; the Lost Boys knew where to find her.
She rose from her seat and approached the door.
"Who is it?" she asked loud enough so that the person on the other side of the door could hear.
"It's Baelfire," she heard the boy respond.
Baelfire, she mouthed to herself.
She opened to door and found the boy standing patiently.
"Baelfire," she smiled politely. "What is it you need?"
"I -," he hesitated. She could tell that something was troubling him.
Ever since she met the boy, she knew he was different. He wasn't like the rest, but she just couldn't figure out why. He seemed like a good kid, but there was something off about him. He had a better appeal than Felix, that's for sure...much more kind and caring.
"Baelfire," she opened the door more as a gesture of welcoming. "What is it?"
"I'm not sure I can tell you."
"Come in," she motioned.
Baelfire walked in and waited until Tinker Bell was ready to listen.
Tink noted the desperate and searching look in his eyes.
"I need your help."
Bae:
"Why did you come here for help?" he saw the note of suspicion in her eyes.
"Can I trust you?" Bae challenged.
"It depends."
"How loyal are you to Peter Pan and Felix?" Bae tried not to reveal too much just yet, but he was having trouble in succeeding.
"I question their motives sometimes now," the fairy admitted. "Sometimes, I'm just not so sure anymore."
"What do you mean?"
"They've been here for so long and I'm just not sure how much longer they can go."
"Do you want to leave Neverland?" Bae asked honestly.
"Oh!" Tinker Bell exclaimed. "I would love that, more than anything!"
"Well, I want to leave Neverland too," Bae admitted, he said carefully. He made sure to keep some things quiet.
"I'm afraid it's not possible, though. Peter Pan always knows when someone leaves the island."
"It's worth the risk. I miss my mother too much," Bae said, which was mostly true.
"All of the boys say that, except for Peter and Felix of course."
"Do the other boys want to leave too?"
"Most of them do," the fairy revealed. "They're always crying for their mothers. I'm surprised you've never heard them."
"I tend to mind my own business," Bae smiled just a bit. "Peter mentioned something else to me."
"What is it?"
"He mentioned something about finding a new heart. He's dying."
"Well," Tink sighed, "I'm afraid that's also true. He's been slowly losing his power."
"He says he hasn't found the heart he needs."
"Oh, he most certainly has found the heart," Tinker Bell huffed and put her hands on her hips.
"What?"
"He just never told you. It's Wendy's heart."
"Who's Wendy?" Bae casually went along with his act.
"Oh! I've said too much!" she had genuine fear in her eyes. "He can't know that I've told you."
"It's okay, I'll keep it to myself," he reassured. "I don't know who this Wendy is, who is this person?"
"I don't know if I should say anymore."
"Tinker Bell we both want to get off this island. You need to tell me everything you know," Bae told her.
The fairy then related the events of Peter Pan and Wendy to the determined boy.
Felix:
He crept quietly around the trees with Rufio trailing.
"What exactly are we doing?" Rufio asked quietly.
"Quiet!" Felix whispered harshly. "You're talking too loud!"
Rufio kept his mouth shut for the remainder of the walk. Before long, they saw the tree house. Felix held his arm out to prevent Rufio from walking any further. Both boys looked up.
"He's there right?" Rufio asked, still whispering.
"Of course he is," Felix reassured. "The boy has nowhere else to go and nothing else to do."
Rufio watched as Felix crouched down and searched for something on the ground.
"What are you looking for?"
"This," Felix stood once more and showed his companion a solidly formed rock.
Felix drew his arm back before throwing the rock up towards the window of the tree house. The two boys watched as the rock successfully made it through the window. Now, they waited for the boy to respond...minutes passed and no one showed up.
"Where is he?" Rufio looked at Felix.
Felix continued to look at the tree house with a little bit of disbelief. "He's not there."
"What do we do now?"
"Come on," Felix backpedaled and motioned for Rufio to follow. "We've got to tell Peter."
