Chapter 25: More Surprises

Shu patiently waited outside the bathroom door where his girlfriend Reina entered over 6 minutes ago. When standing by, he quietly rested his back against the patterned wall on the opposite side of the bathroom door, with his eyes peacefully shut. In his ears were headphones connected to his MP3 player, that he had strapped around his neck in a strap holder. Classical music always seem to easy his mind and body, especially when he was thinking about stuff.

Now that he had a child on the way, he was going to do all the things his mother and father never allowed him to do as a kid. He wasn't going to become one of those parents that takes happiness away from a child, and he definitely wasn't going to run away from his responsibilities as a father and partner.

Truth be told, Reina was still young for a mortal. The blond and tall vampire never understood how she lured him in. Maybe it was her sharp-eyes or that innocent brave look she puts on, even when she was frighten or having a hard time. Yes, she was somewhat younger than him, but she was also a head of her prime and very mature for her age. This only meant that he needed to start looking at her more as a woman, because that's what she was, his woman and nobody else. Reina entered his world only to show him a whole new light. She was his oxygen and his better half. Yet, the eldest Sakamaki allowed all of that to disappear within a week. Instead of pushing her away, he should've talked to her, then maybe she wouldn't have ran away in the first place.

After a short while of over thinking his relationship and more, Reina finally decided to step out of the bathroom minutes later. Once his eyes snapped open, he spotted her smiling up at him with that innocent smile of hers.

"I hope I didn't take too long. I felt kind of sick again, plus I didn't want to be trapped in the middle of a crossfire going on downstairs." Reina explained as she closed the door behind her.

A low chuckle accidentally escaped the back of his throat, so he immediately covered it up. "Don't worry about it."

The brunette curiously blinked up at him. "Did you just laugh?"

"No," he answered without giving it a second thought.

Reina propped her hand over her hip while trapping her heel on the floor. She wasn't fully convinced by her terrible liar of a boyfriend's words. Of course Shu noticed this right away. He respectfully gave in by rolling his eyes at her with a hidden smirk on her face.

"So maybe I did chuckle… just a bit." He confessed. A pink blushed formed on his cheeks as he looked away from her. This caused the brunette to cheerfully smile and laugh at him.

"You know what…I don't think I ever saw you blush before." She proclaimed.

"That's because I don't." He told her, even though it was sort of a lie.

Reina playfully hit him on the shoulder multiple times. "Stop lying Shu. There's nobody else upstairs but us. You can start being more honest with me if we're going to make this work, and I'll try my best to do the same."

Shu leaned over and kissed his girlfriend on the lips while losing control of his hands. He pulled her slightly towards him with his hand cradled against the lower part of her back, working his way up her spine. The other hand rested on the side of her neck as his thumb rested against her cheek.

His hungry tongue darted inside her mouth as she parted it open seconds later. They both groaned with their tongues tangled together. Reina took it upon herself to clutch his shirt before she lifted it over his head. He suddenly changed positions with her and lightly pressed her back against the wall, while his hands tweaking with the buttons on her top.

She suddenly forced herself to pull away, breathing heavily. "Are you sure this is the right place to do this?" She questioned, while her fingers traced his abs.

On their left side there was a gasping noise coming near the stairwell. This immediately broke the two apart, and they both glanced over at who it was.

Kyoyo's eyes were really wide. "Um… WOW! Looks like I came at the wrong time." She said, looking away from them with her hand covering the side of her face. "Um…okay! I totally wasn't expecting this."

Reina began panic and button her blouse back up. "Kyoyo, it's not what you think! He and I were just… we were just… I -"

Kyoyo extended her arm out with her palm standing out. "Don't! I don't want to know the details! I know exactly what you two were about to do in my parent's house."

"Then maybe you should leave now before you find out what's about to happen next," Shu suggested.

The brunette scowled up and down at her boyfriend before pinching him on the shoulder. "Watch it! She's still my friend and this is her home."

"It's all right Reina. Laito would've said the same statement if I were in the same position as you." Kyoyo sighed. "Unfortunately for you both, I can't leave. Reina mother and father are down stairs."

It was Reina's turn to widen her eyes, "really!?"

The raven-haired girl nodded. "Yes, they seem highly upset about something... Are you sure that everything is alright?"

"I don't know anymore," the green-eyed girl mumbled with her head down. "But I'm about to find out." She quickly brushed pass them and carried on down the stairs.

The moment Reina reach the bottom step, she searched around the room her parents. When she finally caught sight of them, her legs slowly moved forward.

"Reina," called her mother Nora as she rushed over to her side. Reina's father Ryuu walked behind his wife with guilt written all over his face. The moment Nora wrapped her arms around her daughter neck, she wept. "You have no idea how relieved we are that you're still here."

"What are you doing here mom," The brunette asked. She directly stared over at her father.

"Your father and I wanted to tell you how sorry we are." She sobbed. "Your father never meant to throw you out the house. Right honey?"

"Mm yes," Ryuu muttered in a shake voice. "I was upset. You're my only child and I shouldn't have disowned you the way I did, especially when you're going through such a tough time in your life. You're grown up to become a fine woman now. That's all a father could ever ask for."

Reina wiped her eyes that was clouded with tears. "It's alright dad. I forgive you…I'm just really glad that you can look pass my mistakes and forgive me too."

Ryuu smiled a watery smile. "Good. Now give your father a hug." He extended his arms out to her, hoping that his daughter would run over and embrace, which of course, she did. Reina immediately ran into his arms and held them around his waist tightly. The brunette couldn't be happier that her father forgave her even after all the trouble she caused for them. Nora joined in by wrapping her arms around her daughters back. Both parents held on to her with tears shedding all over the place.

Shu momentarily came downstairs, walking in on what seem like a family reunion to him. He was glad to see that his girlfriend made up with her parents. Even though she had him to fall back on, it still wouldn't have been the same if she couldn't be with her mother and father. There were only so many holes he could fill. Replacing her parents was not one of them.

"Oh, Shu, you're here." Reina said, gaining his attention. "Come over here, I want you to meet my parents." She grinned at him.

His faced flushed while walking over to them. Then Reina wrapped her arm around his, as she smiled back at parents. "Mom, Dad, I'd like to introduce you both to my boyfriend, Shu Sakamaki."

"Nice to meet you." He spoke in a respectful manner.

Nora smiled at him from head to toe. "Goodness, Reina. He's handsome!"

"Thank you, but I never would've guessed that you were her mother. In my opinion, you obviously look more like her sister. It was my mistake though, you're looks mislead me for the moment."

"Ha-ha-ha! Oh stop," Nora playfully responded with laughter. "I like him already."

Reina groaned. "Shu! Did you have to go there?"

"Aw, have my words upset you?" Shu questioned his girlfriend.

Kanato and Izumi were sprawled out on the warm comfortable bed, staring up at the ceiling. Izumi had her arms wrapped around one of stuff animals while picking with one of the ears. Kanato had his head cradled in his arms with his teddy sitting up on the opposite side of him. They had nothing better to do then sit around doing nothing that night. They even tried going out for dinner and a movie earlier, but it was lame for two vampires like them. Kanato turned to face his girlfriend with an inquisitive look in his big purple eyes.

"Izumi…I want to ask you something." He earnestly spoke out.

Izumi glanced over, giving him her full undivided attention. "Yes, what is it?"

"It's been over two weeks… Why haven't you responded to my proposal yet?"

Frankly, she forgot all about Kanato asking her to marry him on the first night they made love. Marriage was never an option. "Well that damn son of yours isn't taking care of it and neither have you, that's for sure," he said as a remark.

Karl half-glared at his son. "Don't be rash Reiji. I am still your father and head of this house."

Before Reiji could open his mouth again, Aiko rushed to his side and gripped his arm. "He had a rough night! We both did. Please excuse him this once."

"How lovely," Karl said, dazing into her eyes. "I noticed that you have great taste in women, my son." He slowly gazed back and forth between the two. "Keep her close, because somebody might take her away from you."

"I doubt that. " Reiji said, taking off his glasses and gripped them in his hand. The light that was once in his eyes became visibly dimmed. "Aiko won't defy me." he muttered, narrowing his eyes at Karl. "You see father, I carry a whip with me at all time. Thus, she wouldn't dare leave my side, especially for someone like you."

Aiko huffed. "You and that damn whip! What am I, a slave? I take orders from nobody, especially not from some four-eyed sadist!"

Karl chuckled at her statement. "The lady has spoken." He grinned. "I'll take my leave now. You kids behave and good riddance, my son."

And poof he was gone.

Aiko scowled back at her boyfriend. "Did you have to tell him that?!"

"For a man with 3 wives, he has no right to judge me," Reiji stated. "My father is known for his whorish and manipulation ways. So do me a favor, stay away from him. I got a bad feeling about him being here."

Aguri swiftly flipped through his newspaper in frustration. Aguri flinched before glancing over his shoulder. "What –how did you get it here?!"

"Through the door," Laito replied.

The man mouth dropped in utter shock. "Impossible, the door was locked! I didn't hear you come in!"

"You weren't exactly paying attention either," the redhead added. "Any more questions?"

"Yes, I do", he directly responded. "Who are you and why are you here?"

Laito closed his eyes and sighed. "We been down this road before. My name is Laito Sakamaki, I'm 17 years old according to records and I'm dating your niece," he told him before darting his green eyes at him. "Am I forgetting something?"

Aguri gulped. "Um...I don't think so."

Oh, yeah, Now I remember… I'm here to make your life a living hell."Laito said, with a murderous look on his face.
