I'm sorry. My words in the last chapter were complete bull crap. This was not at all a shorter wait. And I am very sorry about that. I really am. Life gets busy! Thanks for being patient and awesome readers! Onto the next chapter!
Coral's POV
My face was still red when Nico and I got to the beach. We sat down on the sand and looked out onto the water. "Do you think Percy is actually going to read the Hunger Games?" Nico asked me.
I shrugged. "Probably. He really hates me teasing him about archery, so he'll try anything to get better. I don't know if he believed me, though. He's not that gullible."
"He might, anyway. Maybe to impress Annabeth or something."
I laughed. "Maybe. He does enjoy impressing her."
"And she enjoys it when he does, too."
"It's a win-win, I guess," I said.
We stayed there for about five minutes in silence until Hazel came up to us. "There you guys are. Percy was looking for you."
"I know," I said. "We talked to him. He said he was sorry, I convinced him to read a book, then we came down here."
"Oh...wait, you convinced Percy to read a book?"
"Maybe. I'm not sure if he's actually going to actually read it, but he sounded pretty convinced."
"We were just saying he might read it in order to impress Annabeth," Nico said.
"That might be true, actually."
"I guess we'll see," I said, laying down in the sand.
"Wait, doesn't Percy have dyslexia?" Hazel asked.
"He can read Ancient Greek. And I just so happened to have a copy in Ancient Greek that I borrowed from the Athena cabin."
Hazel laughed a little. "I guess he's set then." We were quiet for a little, then Hazel jumped up. "I just remembered! I have to go!" She said, then ran off.
"Okay then. She left in a hurry," I said and closed my eyes. I fell asleep not long after. I guess the cleaning had worn me out.
Nico's POV
Coral had fallen asleep on the beach. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it until she didn't answer a question I asked. It's weird to say, but she's cute when she's sleeping.
I picked her up and took her back to Cabin 3. Percy was actually reading The Hunger Games. "Wow. You're actually reading it?" I asked him as I set Coral down on her bed.
"Yeah. So far, I've learned nothing about archery...But I'm only on page 10, so I might learn throughout the book."
I snickered. So he actually believed he would learn archery. I guess Coral over-estimated him. He is that gullible. "I'm sure you'll find out later on in the story," I said, not exactly referring to archery.
"So what did you guys do at the beach?" Percy asked.
I shrugged. "We just talked. To each other and then Hazel for a bit."
"You sure you didn't-"
"No, Percy. Stop saying that," I said. "I'm going back to my cabin." I went back without waiting for another word.
Ooh...Another short chapter. After that long wait...NOT COOL, I KNOW! Next chapter will have Percabeth, I promise.
