(Eve's POV)

I spent the rest of my break studying, and reading. Why you may ask? Well it's because after our break finals is coming up, and I want to study ahead of time so I won't be too stressed out when it does come. Elsword came over to hang out from time to time, so I didn't waste all of my time studying. Today is the last day of the break, and I'm more than ready to go back to school. Studying should be a breeze, now that I'm nearly prepared for most of the tests coming its way.

A small knock on the door caught my attention," come in." I said. The door opened up, and my mom poked her head in.

"Honey the new neighbors are here!" She chimed. My mom has always been excited to meet new people; she's probably psyched that new people have moved into the house beside us

"So?" I ask while keeping my eyes on the papers.

"Well I just had a small talk with them," she began. "And they are really fun people!" That's what she says about everyone. Doesn't matter if you're the most boring person in the world, my mother will find you interesting. "They also have a son around your age, and-"

"Okay hold your horses mom!" I quickly interrupt. "I know what you're about to say, and the answer is no!"

My mom crosses her arms and glares at me," honey you are going to meet a new friend!" She says sternly. "Now listen to your mother and go!"

I groan and get up from my seat. I frown while going down the stairs, trying to show my mom how much I hate her idea. I slip on some boots, and put on my coat. I didn't bother saying good bye to my mom, since she literally pushed me out the door; looks like she's eager for me to be away and out from the house. I wonder how she'll act when I decide to move out, she'll probably be jumping with excitement by the time I step out that door.

I walk over to the neighbour's house and knock on the door. Butterflies jumped in my stomach. I wonder if they'll like me, how old are they; what if they are some little kid; it better not be some kid we all know how bad I am with children!

I snap out of my thoughts as the door opens up, revealing a silver haired guy, he had purple eyes, a white sweater, and matching white pants.

"How may I help you?" He asked.

"Er, my mom actually made me come to say hi." I sheepishly explained to the stranger. His eyes brighten and he smiled warmly at me.

"You must be Daisy's daughter." He exclaimed. I blush at the fact my mom told this stranger about me. "My name his Adam, but I prefer being called Add." He extended his arm out for a hand shake. I awkwardly took his hand and said,

"my name is Eve."

"Eve that's a pretty name." He complimented. I blush and mutter a "thank you". "So Eve, what grade are you in?"

"I'm in 12th grade." I reply with a shrug. "I'm just glad this will be my last year of high school."

Add chuckled and nodded," same here. High school is so boring, I can't believe people say it's fun."

"Yeah," I reply with a smile. "I blame social media they make high school seem way too fun." Maybe this guy isn't as bad as I thought.

"I totally agree with you." He stated with another chuckle. "Great minds think alike."

"We'll just see about that, right after we check your school work that is." I said with a smirk. "Come on let's compare grades, then we'll see if we think alike."

"Challenge accepted." He smirked.

I was quite surprised by Add's marks; honestly he's as smart as me. He's just a bit weak at the math department, but was able to kick my butt in history. We fired up quite a conversation and later I ended staying at his place for dinner; of course my mom didn't mind at all.

His family is pretty crazy, but I swear his mom hates me. She keeps on giving me that why are you still here look. After dinner we talked more about things related to school, current events, and strange moments. In the end we had many things in common, and we're now pretty decent friends with each other. I guess I am a bit grateful that my mom made me come here; just a bit.

Add opens the door for me and walks me to my house. His actions make me feel awkward, he sort of reminds of Elsword. "That was a nice talk we had." He commented. "We should talk some more in the future."

I nod," yeah. So you're seriously going to the same high school as me?" I ask. When he told me at dinner it shocked me, I was sure he'd go apply somewhere better.

"Yep." He nodded. "Well, see you at school tomorrow?"

"Yeah." I wave him goodbye and enter my house, where both my parents are looking at me with sly grins on their faces. I awkwardly step in and wave them a hello.

"Your mom told me about your new friend." My dad smiled. "So how do you like the boy?"

"He's er . . . nice." I said sheepishly.

My dad smiles and nods," just don't go cheating on Elsword okay honey?"

Instantly my face heats up, I look away from my parents; not wanting them to look at me. What is with these guys and thinking I'm dating Elsword, this is starting to get annoying," I'm not dating Elsword! We're just friends!" I quickly explain.

"She's right honey," my mom joins in. Well at least someone agrees with me. "Instead she'll be dating Add!"

"M-mom?!" Why am I not surprised she'd saying something like that? I should've been expecting that line to appear sometime during the day.

"No, Elsword would take better care of her." My dad began. "He's a reliable guy, and I'd trust my daughter with him."

"Well Add is much more mature!" My mom insisted. "He'll be able to take care of Eve just fine."

I simply turned around and hurried upstairs, it's just too awkward for me to stand there and listen to them bicker on about guys. For once can't my family talk about normal things, like doing well in school or about the news? Is that too much to ask for?

(Elsword's POV)

"Elsword wait!" I hear my mom call as I was about to walk out the door. She came running out of the kitchen, holding a small container. "Inside there's freshly baked cookies!" She began. "I want you to give these to Eve for me."

I take the container and nod," will do mom." I said with a smile. "Well take care!" I wave her goodbye and head out.

I happily jog to Eve's house; excited about her reaction towards these cookies. I bet the cutest smile will appear on her face when she receives these.

I reached her house within a few minutes. I ring the doorbell and look around while waiting for someone to answer the door. My eyes trail down towards the house next to hers.

Last time I was here I saw the old neighbours moving out. I still wonder who moved in. Knowing Eve's mom I bet she was the first one to greet them. I quickly snap out of my thoughts as the door opens, Daisy smiled widely and gestured me in.

"Elsword you're here early." She chirped.

I nod while taking off my boots," yeah, I decided to get up early today." I explain. "Is Eve up yet?"

"Yes she's in the kitchen." Daisy replied cheerfully. "Would you like something to eat?"

"It's okay, I'm full." I walk towards the kitchen; the sound of laughter caught my ears. That laugh belonged to none other than Eve.

"Epic fail right?" A male voice joined in.

That voice doesn't belong to her dad, so then who is that person, and why are they here so early? Most importantly how does Eve know him?

I enter the kitchen to see a silver haired guy sitting beside Eve. His purple eyes were locked on Eve, not even noticing me standing there and watching. Eve continued to laugh at whatever he was telling her. Her expression seemed so carefree, like she has no worry in the world.

I clench my teeth, angry that he was the one to make her laugh like that, that he got here before me, and how I'm not the one sitting beside her and making her smile.

Eve turns her head and makes eye contact with me. A light shade of pink grew on her cheeks as she waved me hello. The guy beside her looked up to see me, for a moment I saw his smile drop, but he quickly hid his frown with a wide grin.

"Hello," the guy greeted, with the same fake smile printed on his face. "My name is Add. I'm Eve's new neighbour."

I hold back a frown, not wanting Eve to see my hate towards this guy," my name is Elsword." I said calmly. "I'm Eve's childhood friend!" I announce my status proudly.

"Elsword, you're here early!" Eve exclaimed. I nodded and sat across from her. "Add and I was just discussing about some epic fails."

"That seems fun." I lie while continuing to bite back a frown.

This Add guy seems really shady to me. The way he looks and smiles at Eve makes me want to punch him in the face. He has danger printed all over him.

"It is!" Eve chimed. "I haven't laughed so much in quite a while now."

"Those fails may sound funny," Add chuckled. "But those experiences were painful for me."

"Still pretty funny!" Eve continued to laugh. Add laughed along with her. I sit in silence while watching the two laugh like good friends. Seeing them like this makes me feel left out.

I mentally glare at Add. I still don't think this guy is all that great. I just wish Eve could see what I see in this stranger. Why would she want to stick with him in the first place? Just look at this guy, he looks like he got out from a mental ward!

I clear my throat loudly, catching both of their attention," Eve I have a gift for you." I take out the small container and slide it towards her.

She examines it carefully before opening up the lid. Her golden eyes sparkled with joy once she took a good look inside. She takes out the small cookie and happily eats it. I smile at her cute expression while eating the cookie.

This Add guy may be able to make her laugh, but he can't make her smile the way I do. He can't make that cute, innocent expression of hers appear like I can. My smile widens at the thought of that.

"Thanks Els!" She happily exclaimed. "These are so sweet, I love them!"

"You're welcome." I replied. I would be even happier if she replaced them with you. I love you, the one thing I want to hear her say to me.

"Can I try one?" Add asks. Eve nods while gobbling down her second cookie. "Sweet thanks!" Add takes the cookie and takes a small bite out of it.

"It's good isn't it?" Eve asks. Add shrugs and places the cookie down on the table.

"It's a bit too sweet for me." He shrugs. "Here you can have the rest." He slides his bitten cookie towards Eve.

Eve awkwardly looks at the cookie; probably debating on whether or not she should eat it. Anger and something else fired up inside me. I shot Add a quick glare, knowing perfectly well what his plan is. I make a grab for the cookie and quickly ate it before Eve could make up her mind. Eve stared at me in shock while Add looked at me grumpily.

I shrug off their looks and swallow the cookie," you weren't going to eat it anyways." I said casually. "It'd be a shame to let that cookie go to waste."

"Er right . . ." Eve awkwardly replied.

I frown at the fact that Eve might've eaten that cookie anyways, this fact only made me even more proud to take that cookie from her.

If I had let Eve eat that cookie she would've indirectly kissed Add. Of course that means I just indirectly kissed that guy, my stomach turns at the thought of it; I'll need to burn my stomach and mouth after this . . . I don't regret doing this though, I won't let Eve kiss any other guy; it'd just be too painful to watch.

"Well, we should get to school now!" Eve happily announces. "Once again thanks for the cookies Els!"

"Yeah no problem."

I glance at Add; he sends me a dirty look before getting up.

Yep, this guy is everything but good news.

(Eve's POV)

The walk to school was awkward indeed. Add was quiet for the most part, and Elsword was strangely close to me. So close that I couldn't walk without brushing his arm every few seconds. Add was always a few steps behind Elsword and I, so it was hard to talk to him.

We arrive at the school to see our group already huddled up together. Aisha glanced over to us and waved. Her smile dropped a bit once her eyes landed on Add.

"Morning Eve, Elsword, and . . ." Aisha looks over to me for an answer.

"Guys this is my new friend and neighbour Add." I began. "Add this is Rena, Chung, Raven, Aisha, and Ara."

Add waves at the group," hey nice to meet you guys." He greets with a smile.

Rena smiles strangely and says," so I see you're Eve's new friend." Her smile drops a bit. "That's nice." Her eyes dart between Elsword and Add.

I ignore Rena's strange actions and look towards Ara. My eyes landed on the strange thing sticking out of her hair. "Ara, what's that?" I point to her hair.

"Oh this is a gift from my aunt!" She pulls the object out of her hair. "I call it Eun! It's a ninetailed fox hair pin! My aunt got me an assortment of hair pins, they're all really cute!" She explained. "So what did I miss during Christmas and New Year's?"

"We had really pretty fireworks at Rena's place!" Aisha began. "And we had a blast at Elsword's." Aisha's eyes land on me. "It was quite a memorial day, right Eve?" She says with a wink.

I blush, knowing what she is referring to. My mind instantly replay the events that took place that day, which only caused me to blush even more.

"It sucks how we have tests coming up!" Chung complains. "Why do they make us study and stress over exams right after a long break?"

"Because schools are evil." Raven stated bluntly. "This is just one of the many simple ways they can make us fail!"

"It's also an easy way to pick out the lazy people." I piped in. "I started studying already, so I'm already prepared for the projects and exams they're going to throw at us!" I proudly announce to the group.

"No need to brag." Chung grumbles.

"No need to be ashamed of your laziness." Rena giggles. At that moment the bell rings. The group groans and begins to make their way in.

(Chung's POV)

"It's just not right!" Rena continues to rant. "First we had to deal with Ara-correction we still have to deal with her! But now you throw in Add! Like come on, this is ridiculous!" She slams her locker shut.

I sigh and rub my tired eyes. Hearing her rant like this can be a pain. Plus my brain is already tired and stressed out about the future exams and projects coming our way, Rena's little hissy fit doesn't make it better.

"Chung can you do something to make Add lose interest in Eve?" Her request snapped me back to reality.

"Wow, wow, don't drag me into this drama!" I quickly speak up. "It's not like I'm cupid, I can't just shoot magical love arrows at Add and some random girl."

Rena sighs of frustration," I'll make you come to school in just diapers if I have to!" She growls. "Just do something!"

"Why are you making such a big deal out of this anyways?" I ask. "Isn't all this waste of time?"

"No!" She snaps. "Those two block heads-Eve and Elsword-is so darn stubborn! They won't confess or admit to each other unless we do something."

"Hm you have a point there." I admit. Heck those two are even more stupid than I am.

"So are you team Elsword and Eve or what?"

I sigh in defeat," yep I'm team Elsword and Eve."

Rena smiles," good!" She says with her usual bubbly smile.

She skips happily down the hall, probably delighted that someone agrees to her thoughts about all this. We walk into the library and sit at our usual. Everyone was already chatting away, different conversations ringed throughout the table. Well its official, this library is no longer a quiet place to hang out.

"So I heard you guys are like the outcast group." Add says beside me. "And here I thought you guys would be the popular ones around here."

"Yeah, so what about it?" I ask. This guy better not have a problem with all this. He seems to be the type who wants to be popular, no offense of course.

"Nothing, just you all seem too happy to be outcasts." He shrugs while bating into his sandwich. "In my old school all the outcasts would stay hidden. Heck they hardly even talk to anyone."

"Well we don't really get bothered anymore." I explain. "Sure there are people who still hate us, but some just don't care. They treat us like any other normal person at this school."

"That's good to hear."

"So Elsword." I hear Ara say. "My mom is going to be out tonight, and I was wondering if you'd like to come over and watch a movie with me."

Eve tensed up beside Elsword. The red haired block head glanced at Eve before giving Ara an answer," I'd love to come, but I want to stay home and study a bit."

What a perfectly bad lie.

Ara pouts and puts on her puppy dog face," aw please? We can study at my place, or better yet I can go to your place." She smiles sweetly. "So how does that sound?"

Elsword shifts uncomfortably in his seat," like I said I can't go over, and er I study best when I'm alone."

"Well how about you study for an hour, and then we'll go out for dinner!" Ara offers. "After dinner we can go back to my place to watch the movie!" By now everyone at our table was eavesdropping on the conversation.

"Er n-"

"Come on, it'll be fun." She giggles. "It'll just be like back then; the only difference now is that we're going as good friends!"

Eve suddenly gets up; she looks down avoiding any eye contact. "I-I'm gonna go use the restroom." Her voice cracks. Before anyone could speak up she bolts out the library.

(Eve's POV)

I splash some cold water on my face and look at my reflection. Pathetic, my logical side grunts. I can't help but agree with that statement.

Pathetic, that word fits me so well right now. Why am I making such a big deal out of this anyways? I hate how I'm such a cry baby, I just embarrassed myself in front of all my friends. Like come on why did I have to be so upset when Ara was asking Elsword out; he's going to reject her either way!

What if he doesn't?

I shake those dark thoughts out of my head and walk out of the bathroom to see Add waiting for me. I blush and awkwardly wave at him; he smiles and walks over to me.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" He asks. I quickly put on a fake smile and look at him as if he's crazy.

"I'm totally fine, why do you ask?"

He frowns," you seemed like you were crying back there." He states very calmly. "You don't have to hide it, I know you're upset."

I gave up and let my stupid smile drop. I look away from him, hoping it'll make this situation less awkward.

"You like Elsword don't you?"

"Yes." I reply instantly. Saying I like Elsword is much easier for me now; those words can easily roll off my tongue now. "I-I really like him." I repeat myself, this time with a blush which burned my cheeks.

"You're cute." He chuckles. "Did you tell him about this yet?"

"No," I shamefully admit. "I want to tell him sometime this year! But not this month, we have exams to worry about. Once this month is over I'll think about telling him."

"I see." He replies.

(Add's POV)

"No," She admit.. "I want to tell him sometime this year! But not this month, we have exams to worry about. Once this month is over I'll think about telling him."

"I see." I reply.

I don't like how she fell for him when she can fall for me. I'll protect her, I'll make her feel happy; heck I'll even throw my own life away for her. Elsword already has a girl for him, and that girl is Ara. Eve is too good for him; he doesn't deserve her I do!

Just wait Eve, I promise one day you'll see just how happy I can make you feel, one day you'll be my girlfriend, and one day we'll build a family together!
