Chapter 26
Had Enough?
Taka stopped just outside the dojo as Kenichi and Miu went ahead. Nijima stopped with him, adjusting his belt and tossing the coffee sack to the side. There was much to discuss. The assassin turned around to face the alien and suddenly got real quiet.
"Are you alright?" He asked studying Nijima's appearance.
He nodded to his leader with a sigh. "Yes. But I failed, it seems I overestimated my abilities."
"It's okay." Taka placed a hand on Nijima's shoulder with a reassuring smile. "It's mostly my fault. I underestimated Ragnarok's intelligence." He turned and leaned against the wall with a sigh and shook his head. "Things are going to be difficult now."
Nijima joined him with a nod. "It's always been difficult."
"No, I mean for me." Taka replied staring up at the moon, bobbing his head with an intrigued look. "Ragnarok knows about my abilities now. And now they know I'm in the Shimpaku alliance."
Nijima grinned with satisfaction at the confession.
"It's not too late, thank god." Taka grinned then looked over at Nijima. "I have new orders for Kapa. Tell the others that we must separate our persona from ourselves. Tell them to act differently when they wear the uniform. That means you too. Perhaps you should wear a face mask too, like Ruby."
"Why is that?" The alien replied in confusion.
"Well you're too noticeable even with a hood covering your god awful haircut." He chuckled ruffling his hair. Nijima grunted and slapped his hand. "Your smile and voice is too noticeable. Give me your deepest and most threatening voice."
Nijima nodded and coughed. "Ahem. The name is Kapa and I have orders to face you." His voice was incredibly deep and even resembled Sakaki's a bit.
Taka nodded with a light chuckle. "Nice, nice. Make sure to get a mask and use that voice when on business." He replied as Nijima chuckled. Then the head assassin touched a thumb to his chin. "And since I'm in two groups at once, there is a chance that both personas will end up on the battlefield together." He nodded at a decision and nudged Nijima. "Tell our contacts to look for a hitman."
Nijima gasped in confusion. "A hitman?" He turned slightly white. "What are you planning?"
"This person needs to have a sense of justice and a light, agile frame." Taka explained with haste. "Anyone will do. Their experience with stealth will be useful for training, and they can serve as my double when I'm needed for the Shimpaku."
The alien laughed evilly from the plan. "Hahaha! That is brilliant. We'll be that much more powerful now!"
Taka laughed along with him then patted him on the back. "Alright. Get to work, and keep your head down."
Taka strained as he felt the blood rushing to his head. Shigure sat on the dojo floor beside Taka as he stood on his head. Apachai sat on the other side of the game board as he contemplated his next move for othello.
"Push... up." She ordered as he grunted in pain from his burning muscles.
"I feel like my arms are gonna fall off!" Taka grunted as he pushed himself up with a bit wobbly balance.
"You'll need... balance." She explained to him as he dropped back down then pushed up again. "Upside down... as well."
Taka grunted as sweat rolled down the waist of his white pants and down his chest to the bottom of his chin. She had a point, in fact he requested this type of training. Being agile enough to jump around and confuse the enemy was one of his goals for himself. Even if he knew it was necessary he slightly regretted this. It was too late to turn back now. Shigure was the type of master who didn't let him give up during training...
Ever.
Even if his arms gave out she forced him to continue until she felt he was done. Taka didn't know whether she was a more cruel master or Akisame. He was still wondering that.
Suddenly an extremely loud noise disrupted his concentration and he fell onto his back, picking up the dirt around him.
"Whaaaaaaat!" The voice was extremely high pitched and pierced his ears.
When he got the strength back to lift his head he saw only Miyako in his sight, but she was running. The interesting thing was the person chasing her, which wasn't a master. Instead it was Kenichi's little sister, Honoka, who looked incredibly angry with her, swinging a little plastic hammer and trying to hit Taka's sister.
The assassin groaned and tilted his head back to look at Shigure. "What's she doing?" He sighed.
Shigure glanced up indifferently then shrugged. Taka groaned as he sat back up, but just then Kenichi jumped over his head and stood in between the gothic girl and his little sister.
"Honoka enough!" He ordered, waving his finger angrily at her.
"No! I'm not gonna let my big brother be taken away by some big boobed hussy!" Honoka waved her fist furiously to try and hit at them. Miyako actually had to hold herself back from laughing at the little girl, who reminded her of herself when she was that young.
"Honoka, stop it!" Kenichi ordered. "She's not taking me away! I'm still right here."
"But you can't have a girl friend!" Honoka complained as Miyako walked away toward her own brother. "What if she doesn't treat you right."
"Gee wiz, who does that remind me of?" Miayko snickered at Taka who simply held up his middle finger and tried to pick himself off the ground.
Taka whistle at the little girl once he was on his feet again. "Hey Honoka!" He got her attention, then cocked his head. "I think it's almost your turn for Othello."
The little girl glowered at Kenichi then pointed in his face with a dominant glare. "This isn't over!" She then skipped over to the othello board as Shigure played her final move, which won her the game.
"Apa!" Apachai cried as he hung his head in shame, turning his back as Honoka took his spot.
"Nice try, Apachai." Honoka giggled as she sat down, resetting the board.
Taka chuckled as he flipped back onto his hands and held himself there. Again, he felt the blood starting the rush to his head rather quickly. He then pushed himself up slowly then back down, feeling his muscles tighten with intense burning.
"Ugh damn it." Taka groaned from the pain. "I sure know how to pick 'em don't I?"
Shigure nodded indifferently as she flipped her pieces. As Taka started to slow down the weapon mistress turned over another piece then lifted her head to look at her apprentice. "Okay... now start walking... around."
Taka lifted his head still grunting. "You mean on my hands." Shigure nodded as she continued playing. Taka grunted as he picked up his hand and put it back down as fast as he could before his balance could be broken. "Shit. This is hard."
Shigure turned over another game piece. "It will soon be... easier."
Taka walked around with incredibly small steps, grinning through his strained face as he recognized how much his balance had progressed since he was no longer wobbling. He eventually came across the yard as Kenichi punched at the post next to Sakaki.
He chuckled as he circled him. "Careful, Kenichi. It might hit you back."
He glowered at the other disciple who was showing off. Then he silently went back to his training. He kept walking around on his hands, until suddenly Honoka shot up from her seat.
"Taka! There's a phone call for you!" She called.
The assassin lifted head, grunting then he flipped back to his feet and fixed his hair. He took his phone from Honoka's hand with a smile then held it up to his ear as he walked away. "Hello?" He kept going until he was away from everyone else's hearing.
"Tsute, it's Kapa." Said a deep voice on the other end.
Taka grinned at the progress in Nijima's fake voice. "I'm listening."
There was a stressed sigh before Nijima spoke again. "It seems you have a bit of a problem in your household."
Taka's face hardened seriously as he looked out across the yard then his heart started racing extremely fast. "What are you talking about?" he sneered angrily.
"Well." Nijima's deep voice seemed guilty now. "I've kind of had people spying on all of my subordinates. Uh... but not you. However, I have been gathering information on your sister and..." he sighed again.
"Keep going." Taka sneered getting really paranoid in his guesses.
"Well, they heard quite a commotion when she went back to your home today." He explained. "They said it sounded like she was getting attacked by a man. A drunken man."
Taka's eyes widened then he glared a furious glare. "What kind of attack?"
"They couldn't really tell, but it didn't sound violent. It sounded..." Nijima sighed again with a disgusted grunt. "It sounded like he was trying to get with her... sexually I mean."
Taka's heart was racing at a million miles an hour. Shigure looked up from all the way across the yard and she could see the sheer amount of Ki radiating from her apprentice from this far away. She would have been proud of this since it showed his progress, but she was getting more worried than anything else.
Taka squeezed his hand tightly, feeling an intense pain from his vice grip strength. "Where is he?"
"He left when my spies told me." Nijima replied.
Taka nodded, already knowing who the person was and where he would be. "Thank you for telling me... Kapa."
"I hope your sister is safe." Nijima replied then they both hung up.
Taka spun around and headed back toward everyone else. However, as the ever viscous looking disciple hung his head with fury he simply walked past his master without a word. Shigure gasped with worry as he walked away and climbed up to the second floor and disappeared into his room. What had happened? What was wrong with him?
She never expected him to ever be able to emulate any Ki whatsoever at his level, but the amount he produced was like he was already a high class disciple. She looked back to the game then back to Taka and shot up.
"Apachai... you can... finish." She looked back at Apachai who was also worried from feeling the Ki.
Every single master turned their attention to Shigure's apprentice as he confined himself in his room. Taka sat in the middle of his floor, huffing with such venomous fury as he contemplated the information he had just been given. Miyako had been attacked? She was too strong for any normal attack to matter now, so Nijima's worry made sense.
But Sexually?
There was only one other man who lived in that house. The person who bullied him and his mother at home, Fokashu. His step father who hadn't even married his mother. Instead he was just a bottom feeder who lived off his mother's money and made his life at home a living hell. He had completely forgotten about that man and for the past few months, his life was happy. However, he was just bottling up his anger inside.
He thought Miyako was the lucky one. The one person who didn't get touched by Fokashu's villainy, but that swine had touched every member of Taka's family. He had abused his mother into fear, as well as Taka himself. And now he had abused Miyako in the worst way possible.
Taka felt like throwing up from the anger and the thought of that long haired, drunken bastard taking advantage of his sister. How long had he been doing such a thing? That must have damaged her terribly, considering the fact that she never batted an eyelash or even hinted at any possible abuse.
He couldn't call the authorities now, or rather he didn't want to. This time, it was personal.
Shigure dropped down from the ceiling, her raven hair dropping down and touching the floor. His master gave him a worried look as he didn't even bat an eyelash from her surprising appearance. He just sneered and looked away.
"Taka..." She dropped down and sat next to him, trying to catch his eyes. "What is... it?"
Akisame opened the door and standing there in the doorway was also Kensei, Sakaki, and even the Elder himself to see what was wrong. Shigure put a hand on his shoulder and got closer trying her best to comfort him.
Taka gritted his teeth and shook his teeth with a gulp. "Fokashu..." He said through his teeth. "He's always been my biggest bully." He lifted his head with a hateful sneer. His tone was spiteful with venom in his words. "Now that trash has made the biggest mistake anyone could make..." his grip tightened and the other masters gasped as they saw his Ki radiating again against this will. "Despite everything that's happened." He shook with a viscous sneer. "None of this surprises me. I thought Miyako was the only one who didn't get touched, but she had it the worst."
He suddenly stood up and approached his wardrobe, staring at his assassin coat. He looked back at Shigure with ever angry eyes. "No more."
Shigure shot him a worried look as he quickly threw his coat on. Then she suddenly threw her arms around his waist. "No... don't."
Taka looked over his shoulder then back at the masters who stood in his doorway. He broke her grip then stood before them all. They didn't say a word to him. "I know you all see value in all life." He said, shaking his head with shame. "But I don't think I'm like you. Some people abuse the value in life. Like that man, they must be stopped."
"What will you do, if you had the chance?" Akisame spoke with a blank look. "Will you punish him for it?"
Taka bobbed his head. "Of course." he paced back and forth. "You all know who I am, and what I've done. Don't play dumb." He stared up at then then clenched his fists with frustration. "But if I don't do it then nothing will change! I have a responsibility with the power I have, that you have given me! Someone needs to put the fear into men like Fokashu."
Akisame gave a slight nod. "I'm not saying you shouldn't. In fact if it were us..." His face then hardened with a sneer rivaling the intensity of Taka's own. "We would fight him until he wished he were dead!"
"Taka." Elder Hayato spoke up with a smile. "You and Kenichi are so different, it baffles me. I cannot speak to you about needing to face your demons because you will do so without my help." He smiled at him. "You have sacrificed so much by choosing the path that you have. You have sacrificed your moral well being and your image to others in order to help people. No matter how you do it, that is a noble cause."
Taka gasped in surprise from the Elder's approval. The giant of a man suddenly brushed past the others and put a giant hand on his shoulder with a caring smile.
"You fight for justice. So aren't the type of person we hate." He nodded to him. "Go and face this man, but remember all we have taught you. You are better than him, remember that." He then turned around and looked over his shoulder with a thumbs up. "And remember. I believe in the assassins."
Taka nodded to him as Hayato slid his door shut then he turned back to face Shigure. The pink clad woman looked more worried than ever. Her disciple was in so much pain and anger and she could feel it. Suddenly he reached down and grabbed her hands, holding them up and smiling at her.
"Taka..." She spoke.
He gave her a reassuring look and shook his head. "I won't. As much as I want to, I'll show him mercy when I face him." He nodded to her. "After all, you're the one who helped me believe in second chances."
Shigure blushed feeling a bit of pride in her help. Then she looked back at him as he got closer. Taka wrapped his arms around her and mashed their mouths together. Shigure closed her eyes, enjoying the softness of his lips and the warmth of his body. Taka kept going, messaging her lips with his own and enjoying the electric feeling he got from this older woman.
Taka then broke away and pressed their foreheads together with a nod. "Don't worry. I won't turn into Nasashi." He whispered then looked at his blushing master with a smile. "I promise."
Shigure smiled and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her chest against his and hugging him tightly, resting her head on his strong shoulders. "Thank... you."
Taka stood outside his target destination, the Akaname bar. An appropriate name for a place of such filth, to be named after a spirit who licks the filth off bathroom walls. He looked down at his feet, taking a deep breath and clearing his mind as best as he could. He no longer wore his assassin coat. This was a personal mission. Plus he needed to ensure that he wouldn't kill Fokashu.
Something about fighting unarmed felt more personal to Taka. Beating up his soon to be ex-step father, gave him a lot of satisfaction inside and he felt slightly glad he didn't bring any weapons. He nodded in reassurance and swallowed his anger, walking inside. The smell of stale beer and cigarette smoke filled his nose. As if the constant smell from Fokashu at home wasn't enough, this place multiplied the smell by ten.
Taka nearly gagged upon entering, then kept going, trying his best to ignore it. The assassin brushed past a crowd of people and headed immediately for the bar to get away from the tight crowd of people. He sat down at one of the stools, looking over everyone's head for the long haired pig, but there were too many people.
The elderly male bartender approached the bar, cleaning out a glass. "Hey kid." He snapped, getting Taka's attention. "What are you doing? You can't be here."
"I'm looking for my mother's boyfriend." Taka replied with a blank sneer. "Perhaps you've seen him. Long hair, named Fokashu. A regular of yours."
The man was considerably old, and didn't look as hardened and impatient as the rest of the men in the bar. "Ah, yes. He come's in here quite often. Trying to bond with him?" He shook his head with an indefinite grunt.
Taka suddenly leaned in with a glare and stared into the man's soft eyes. He showed the man all the hatred and anger he had built up, causing the old man to gasp. "Does it look like I want to bond with him?" Taka leaned back. "I'm here to teach him a lesson."
The balding man sighed with a nod, setting down the glass. "I see. Well it's about time. He makes life unpleasant here with his friends every day." He leaned in as did Taka, allowing the old man to whisper in his ear. "By the restrooms. Fokashu sits with three of his friends. I've seen two of them opening bottles with switch blades. Perhaps you should wait until he is alone."
Taka got up from the stool and rolled his eyes. "Not a problem." he turned around then brushed through the crowds once more. "Shigure." He whispered. "Lend me your strength."
He finally broke through the drunken crowd and came into plain view of Fokashu's table. He wore a denim jacket and white shirt which was soaked in alcohol. He laughed along slurring profanities and vulgar words with the three men with him. Taka tightened his grip as he watched him laugh and enjoy himself. Until today, Fokashu thought he could do whatever he wanted. Like he was invincible.
Taka had one last demon to face before he could consider himself a leader.
He took a deep breath and marched over to the table until he was standing over him. All of the men suddenly stopped and looked up at him, then shared glanced to each other.
"What do you want, kid?"
"Yeah, get the fuck out of here!"
Taka gave them intense looks, unintentionally letting his Ki leak. As they shivered from the suffocating atmosphere, Taka raised an eyebrow from the weird feeling then looked back to the man he had come to see.
Fokashu peered up at him for a long time. The man was so drunk he could hardly see straight, as usual. Then suddenly he recognized him. "Taka! My honey's little bitch kid. What the fuck are you doing here?"
Taka sneered at him then leaned over the table. "I'm here for Miyako, you bastard." He said through his teeth causing Fokashu to glare back. The other men were backing off, however from the bloodthirsty look that Taka was giving him.
"You want me to beat your ass, little punk?" Fokashu sneered leaning forward and locking eyes with him.
Taka didn't back down though, his Ki intensifying around him. "I'm not scared of you. I'm stronger than you could ever imagine and now so is she. So don't bullshit me. I know what you did to her."
Fokashu gasped and gave a guilty look to all his friends. "What are you talking about?"
"Shut up!" Taka banged on the table, causing Fokashu's friends to jump and flick their switch blades. Immediately Taka spun around grabbing a pool cue from the hand of a big biker behind him. The weapon disciple spun back around cracking the stick over their wrists, causing them to drop their weapons. He disarmed the other one then twirled his weapon, hitting both of them in the face. The third one struggled to attack him with a bottle, but couldn't reach. Taka smack the bottle, causing it to shatter then hit him in the throat with the fatter end, sitting him back down.
Taka held the pool cue outstretched against the third friend's throat. Though his attention remained on the long haired culprit in front of him. Taka's dark eyes caused Fokashu to shiver in fear as the much younger and smaller boy had easily overpowered his three friends. Taka then swung the stick again, knocking the third friend unconscious.
Fokashu jumped and crawled over the back of the seat and ran out the back door. Taka looked to the hostile biker then threw the pool cue back to him and vaulted swiftly over the seat and chased him out the door.
Fokashu ran out of the alley and across the street, stumbling as he ran normally and he actually fell as he dodged a car. Taka sprinted after him with persistance, then his target picked himself back up and made it across the street, sliding across the hood of a moving car then he kicked off another parked car and climbed onto the top of a sign. Fokashu stumbled as he tried to stay standing let alone run.
When he looked up, Taka wasn't there, but then he looked up and saw the teen right above him. Taka landed on his chest, knocking him onto his back with intense pain. He stood up and grabbed Fokashu by his long hair, pulling him into an alley as he screamed in agonizing pain. Taka threw him against the wall then spun around and kicked him in the groin.
Fokashu doubled over then Taka grabbed him by the shoulder and gave him a poweful knee to his groin yet again, then another, and another. "Kao Loi! Kao Loi!"
Fokashu sobbed as he fell to his knees, holding himself. "Please."
Taka ignored him and picked him up by his shirt collar, throwing him against the wall. He threw both if his hands outward in a yamasuki. The kneed him again in the stomach then slammed him against the wall.
Fokashu spat out blood as Taka landed a heavy palm to his nose, then once more he kneed him in Terr groin and threw him over his shoulder.
Taka panted in anger then looked down with dominance and satisfaction. Fokashu's face was beat to a pulp and bruised beyond belief. Taka sighed to himself then pulled him up by his shirt collar.
"You listen to me you son of a bitch!" Taka shouted through his teeth. "If I see you anywhere neat my mother out house ever again, I will not stop next time, you understand me!?" Fokashu nodded weakly. "I'll Beatty you to death next time." Taka let down another heavy fist and stood up with satisfaction.
Fokashu's friends rushed to the alley then stopped once they saw him. Taka stepped into their line of sight causing them to gasp and back away.
"One of you will have him living with you." Taka demanded. "Don't let him go back home." Her pointed at him again. "Our this will happen again." The men nodded shakily.
Taka opened the gate to Ryozanpaku with a loud creak, looking around atty the dark dojo in the night.
As he passed by the main building he expected everyone to already be asleep, but everyone was standing there waiting for him. He stopped once he heard a whisper and looked.
The masters smiled proudly at him as he entered the candle lit room.
"Everyone." He nodded to them with a refreshed smile.
Suddenly his black haired sister ran out from behind them, flipping her bangs before throwing herself into his arms. Taka gasped as his sister squeezed him tightly with a hug, resting her head on his shoulder.
"They told me what you did." She squeezed harder. "Thank you so much." Taka could feel her hot tears hitting his shoulders as he chuckled.
"No, it was my pleasure." He chuckled, pushing her away.
He looked at Kenichi standing there then turned his sister around. "This is yours." Her chucked, pushing the couple together. Miyako hugged Kenichi with a happy giggle, causing Kenichi to blush and gasp. Taka just gave him a wink and turned away with a yawn. "You can rest easy now, and so can mom. Fokashu is not to go within one hundred feet of us or or house now."
Miyako let out a sigh of relief and broke the hug from Kenichi. She sloped over to Taka and ruffled his hair. "That's my little bro for you."
He smiled and spun around waving back at them. "Kenichi." He replied getting a confused look from his fellow disciple. "If anyone dates my sister. I'm glad it's you." He waved at him again then stepped casually out of the bedroom with a yawn.
When her opened his door, Shigure appeared upside down in front if him with a calm wave. She dropped to the floor as Taka couldn't drop his smile of extreme satisfaction. "You're... Back."
He chuckled feeling his heart tingle inside then her grabbed her artist, seeing a little terrible in her eye. "Come here."His matter gasped as he pulled her to him and pressed their bodies together. He gabber her a long, hot kiss, they moved their lips around, messaging the other's. Taka chuckled again then broke away and pressed his forehead against hers. "Thank you for being my master."
Definitely one of the more satisfying chapters to write. Revenge is always fun, muahaha! Who says violence isn't the answer?
Tell me what you think of the story so far. What was your favorite part so far? And what do you think of the pairing?
Arigato.
