Toki had been thinking it over carefully for nearly a month now. His access to purgatory was becoming less and less frequent; his alcohol consumption, drug abuse, and Magnus' rule of the other dimension made it nearly impossible for him to gain a foot hold in a place he was supposed to be the keeper over. He knew they were getting closer to the end, to when the five of them would be needed to protect what was left of the world or help in its total destruction. He knew Magnus obviously had no need to care about the state of the world of the living and the chance to take over and help in over throwing the order of things would be something the deranged musician would be more than apt to doing. He refused to let that happen; he wasn't sure what more he was meant to do, none of them knew what they were meant to do when the time would come. They were told to play one last song and that was it, they weren't told what would happen when they finally go there. He knew it wouldn't be just that simple, play a single song and everything would just go back to the horrid state of normality they had all grown up to know.
He refused to let Magnus fuck that up, to hurt him, his friends, or the rest of the world. He was meant to do something important, he wasn't going to let his learned weaknesses keep everybody back. Not anymore. He was sick of it, he was sick of everything. He just knew what he was considering was dangerous and completely ignorant, there were more down sides to his plan than there were good sides. In the end whether the outcome was good or bad it meant that Magnus would be gone for good. He knew if he told the others they wouldn't go along with his plan, they would yell at him about how stupid and childish he was being thinking about something like that. He had to agree with them; it was stupid and childish and selfish on top of that.
It wasn't until another session alone in the recording studio going over guitar tracks with Skwisgaar did he consider bringing up any part of his idea with the other musician. Thankfully his guitar playing was becoming some semblance of normal again, maybe a bit better than it had before. He only figured it was better than it had been before due to the fact that Skwisgaar had only called him a dildo and an idiot three times in the past week.
"Can I talk to you about something?"
"What is it?" Skwisgaar asked glancing up from his guitar, he pushed his hair back behind his ear to get it out of his face.
"Do you trust me?" Toki asked after a moment of trying to figure out what he even wanted to say.
Skwisgaar regarded him carefully trying to figure out all the bad places a question like that could go. Nobody ever asked that unless they followed it with something potentially dangerous to your phsyical health or emotional well being.
"Weird question"
Toki nervously hit the same chord on his guitar a few times.
"No it isn't, we've known each other a long time." He responded trying to sound at least a bit offended.
"It depends; is this a thing where I trust you with my life or do I trust you anywhere near my guitar, because it's no to the second one."
Toki rolled his eyes at the defensiveness Skwisgaar got into his voice and posture over the idea of anybody else handling his precious guitar.
"Not really either of those and it's not like I'd want to touch your crappy guitar anyway. Mine is much better."
The older man scoffed, "Right, that's why I've caught you trying to play it before."
"That was a long time ago, I can't believe you would still bitch about that."
"You got grease all over it"
"So what I'd been eating"
"You know not to eat and touch my guitar."
Toki sighed heavily, for the moment he forgot what he even wanted to bring up with the older man.
"Whatever, stop being such a lady about it. Let's get back to getting this fucking song finished up."
"I'm not a lady. Get in the booth, see if you can not fuck up this time." Skwisgar ordered
They dedicated the next hour to recording, deleting, arguing and then managing to record the guitar tracks for two and a half songs. By the time they reached the third track Toki's fingers were sore and if he had to hear Skwisgaar bitch about his playing one more time he felt he would hit him over the head with the instrument.
"I could use a fucking drink"
"No way, all you do is drink then you get really sick and I have to watch over you."
Toki knew he was right and he didn't exactly need alcohol with the way it messed with his brain and his over all health. A part of him did feel bad making Skwisgaar take that much care of him when he drank too much and spent a day or two completely sick.
"Fine I won't drink anything tonight, not worth having you lecture me while I'm puking my guts up." He responded as they walked through the hallway going towards Skwisgaar's room.
"Hey what was it you were trying to ask me earlier about trusting you anyway?"
"Huh? Oh yeah that...It's nothing, I just wanted to know."
"Well to answer you I do trust you, it's a stupid question to ask me. I don't even know why the hell you would ask it."
When they reached Skwisgaar's room the blond haired man allowed Toki into the room first. He lay down on the large white bed, his friend lay down next to him wrapping an arm around his waist.
"Just a question, I wanted to make sure."
Skwisgaar nuzzled his nose against the side of his neck, "You're such an idiot, love you though."
"I know...You're still a shitty guitar teacher."
The older man chuckled then pressed a kiss to the younger man's cheek.
For a moment Toki reconsidered his plan, but he knew he had to go through with it. There was just no way in Hell he was going to tell Skwisgaar what he was going to do.
