Here comes a new couple. With his inclusion and a certain screenshot within his trailer, I decided to try and tackle a CloudxZelda piece. With them becoming the fourteenth couple in this series. Now, I still haven't perfected Cloud's character within my writing skills, but bear with me. Now, let us see what I can come up with this time.

Couple 14 - Chapter 1
CloudxZelda
A Lonely Flower
On this dreary battlefield within the Valley of Seers laid a lone flower, hanging back at the base to command her units while her guard and friends go deal with the threats. While she would like to help them, she is their leader and Queen, so she had to stay back and keep morality up. Should she fall, than one by one they will fall as well.
That said, even staying back is dangerous in itself. Ambush units would show up every now and then to keep the fight going on and greatly tiring their own. Even with the more skilled allies, not even they could keep up with the sheer amount of numbers that the witch would keep spawning. However, they weren't tasked with eliminating all of them, just keeping them behind the lines while the main force would fight their way up to the witches side and hopefully with her surrender, her own units would fall back. Emphasize on the hopefully, but the witch went beyond that point. She went to the point where she would rather die than surrender.
The tides of the battle were still in their favor. They did a good job at keeping back the rear units as well as reinforcements. Her own friends should be near the witch and once they are at her doorsteps, she'll go join them as she wanted to try to get her to surrender. While her two main Generals shared her views on trying to end the war without much bloodshed, she knew that they won't be able to keep up that aspect if she resisted. And that was without taking into account of her other Generals who would probably kill her whether intentional or not.
"My Queen!" A guard enter their main base and from the looks of him, he ran all the way back with a small battalion to deliver her an update of what is going on at the peak of the mountain where the witch has stationed herself. "Our forces are just about to take up arms against the witch. As instructed, they are waiting for your arrival to talk to her about surrendering. My battalion and I will escort you to their side." He explained his reasoning for coming back.
"Good." The Queen gave an approving reply. "We leave immediately. We must get there before the witch decides to bring in more forces." She summoned her royal sword and immediately left the base.
"I'll send a scout ahead to inform them of our arrival." The guard suggested and sent out a small group of three men on horses to go ahead of them.
After quickly ascending up there
The witch grimaced as she heard her enemies coming up her tower. She paced in front of the open Gate of Souls wondering what to do. She could summon more monsters to slow them down, but she still wanted to be conscious for their arrival. So she decided to meet them head on. It may meet in her end, but she wasn't going to surrender to the likes of that witch of a woman who is (normally) destined to be with the Hero. Her Hero.
Just thinking that made her almost get all excited for them to come to her. This entire war waged on just to be by her Hero's side. It was funny now that she thought of it. But no turning back now. She's already this far, may as well go all the way.
Her ears twitched when she heard something coming from the portal. It was a voice. One she was quite familiar with. That sinister laugh confirmed on whom she has that it belonged too.
"They are coming to your doorsteps. It is now time for me to take presence upon this world and take place as its Ruler. Lend me your body once more so that I may complete my resurrection and lay waste to my enemies." The voice spoke in a very sinister manner.
The witch scowled. She embraced the darkness within her once she learned that the Hero could become hers if she managed to get the Queen out of the way. After that, she let go all traces of light so that the darkness could empower her. Even if it feasts off her soul, it'll be worth it in the end. However, with the Queen's forces taking out her own, she felt some traces of light trying to get back within her. She ignored it, but she received some of it and figured that the sinister voice that enticed her to wage this war was just using her.
"Silence! I can handle this myself. There is no need to bring you here." She snapped as she turned away.
"So be it." The voice muttered in a very dark tone. Once she lets down her guard, after she's exhausted from the impending battle. He'll swoop in, take control of her body, and resurrect himself before laying waste to all of Hyrule.
The witch's ear twitched as the Queen herself arrived, alongside her guard. Joining her was her other side and her Hero. "Ah, Link. Let me get a good look at you." The witch greeted as she stepped down the steps in front of the portal.
"Cia. You need to stop. This darkness is destroying your soul." Her light side warned her.
The witch; introduced as Cia, scowled. She knew of this in the beginning, but she had planned to discard it once she had the Hero by her side. However, the Queen's forces delayed that plan and the darkness continued to feast off of her. "The darkness has already taken its toll. You have the Queen to thank for that. However, I have decided that if I can't get what I want, then you shall all perish!" She shouted as she summoned her scepter and immediately began attacking.
After a while
Cia fell onto her knees, finally being defeated by the group. Even though she was outnumbered, she managed to draw out the fight and even managed to incapacitate the Queen's guard and her light side. Only Link and the Queen stood in front of her, breathless but victorious.
"As Queen of Hyrule. I declare you prisoner of war. I would have you surrender your army and send them back to once they came..." The Queen ordered her to surrender whilst holding her rapier towards her.
As she continued to speak of her crimes and how long she is to prisoner; her heart began to burn. The darkness quickly engulfed it and she felt the presence of another trying to take over. She cried out in pain and fell forward, holding herself up with her hands and breathing heavily.
The Queen and Hero only looked on, wondering what's going on with her. "There's something within her..." The Queen noted as she felt a dark presence within her.
"Give in. Let me take over and I'll ensure the Hero will be yours forever." The voice beckoned within her.
"No!" Cia called out. She already knew that this dark presence already had sights on eliminating everyone. Especially her Hero and the Queen. Using the last of her strength, she got back onto her feet and turned towards the portal. She slowly walked her way over there; limping along the way and at the same time groaning as if she was fighting something from inside.
The Queen only looked on, wondering what was going on. She feared getting close to her because the darkness she is currently feeling was getting stronger.
"Yes. Open the last seal which locks away one of the fragments of my soul." The voice continued to taunt her.
Cia continued to fight from within. She was too weak to completely resist and only slowed him down just so she can figure out what to do. As she was forced to raise her hands and conjure up a teleportation spell which will unlock the last seal, she had an idea. Using every last bit of her strength, she managed to turn herself around and fling the spell at the Queen and her Hero.
"Foolish girl. What do you think your doing?" The voice snapped as he saw the two disappear.
Cia gave a little smirk as she fell onto the ground. "I sent them away. The other two bearers of the Triforce are far away where you won't be able to find them." She explained as she finally collapsed out of exhaustion.
"Do not underestimate me." The voice warned. Her shadow started to grow and a sihlouette appeared from her body, casting the shadow, "I'll find the other two. No matter how long it takes me. You may think you stopped me, but you merely delayed my plans." He explained as he took presence within this world. Not whole, but just enough to take a weak presence.
Far away.
The Queen all of a sudden found herself within a barren land. Void of any forms of civilization. As she began to gather her senses, she noticed that she was all alone. "Where am I?" She muttered to herself. She closed her eyes and breathed deep, "First things first, I need to find the others. Then we'll return to Hyrule." She decided quickly. She then took another minute to look around, "If they are here that is." She added, wondering where 'here' was.
Her silence was broken when a howl sounded out. Looking at the hills in the distance, she saw a pack of strange-looking wolves. They were almost skeletal in design, but they were filled with dark energy. Knowing they saw her as food, she immediately summoned her rapier and prepared to defend herself. The wolves started to run towards her, before disappearing into black smoke that continued to make its way to her. Whatever these creatures are, they were certainly not of Hyrule. Which brought up the question of where she is.
In the distance, an individual on a strange transportation device noticed that the Shadow Creepers were closing in on someone. Drawing his huge sword, he immediately made way to that person.

This chapter was more of a prelude than an actual story. I still do not know what I'm going to with Zelda in Midgar. Just like "A Hero's Storm" I do not know much of Final Fantasy VII, but I do have the game on my PS3 so I can play it after and decide what to do. I did not intend to include Cia and that prologue, but I just went on with it.
Where did Cia send Link? Perhaps, he got sent to a strange land as well where months later, he'll find a woman freezing in a cave. (This is also before he gets the Master Sword in Hyrule Warriors.)
Anyways, let me know what you think of the story so far and if there's anything I should change or do. Hope you enjoyed it.
