Welcome back everyone to chapter 26 and sorry for the long wait. I was busy with classes and had some trouble figuring out how this next chapter should go. But after finally finishing with my courses this semester I am now free to continue with my stories. Also that reminds me if set up a poll for you guys to check out so you can vote for the best story of this year.
So if you are interested you can go to my profile to check them out. Anyways, last time we saw Leomon escape and saw some Warp-Digivolution. How will things go in this chapter? And will the others finally figure out who Nicholas is?

Leomon returns
Digital World (Normal pov)
Gennai is at his new home after he left his old one knowing that the Virus King will send any of his followers to find him. Hoping that without him that the Digidestined will be defeated. Too bad for the Virus King is that he found a way to help the Digidestined earlier when he got Azulongmon to give them a power boot to get to the Mega-level. With the power they were able to defeat Piedmon and destroy another tower.
He just hopes the power they have will be enough to handle any more surprises that the Virus King will have plan for them. Now only if they know where their enemies are hiding out so they can end this before it gets worst.
"Did you find anything?" Centarumon asked as he approaches his friend.
"I found a way to get into the Dark Ocean, but that's if they are hiding there," Gennai replied who has some doubts on where the Virus King's henchmen are located at.
"The human world seems like a possible location," said Centarumon. "Either way getting there will be difficult. You and I both know only a few Digimon know how to get to the Dark Ocean. While the gateway to the human world has been made difficult at least for those without human partners to cross over."
"Do you think it will be possible if the Virus King did get a human to help him, that they will find a way to the human world?" Centarumon asked.
Gennai sighed. "I don't know. Humanity is still cautious about us after what happened last time. If the Virus King did find a way to bring Digimon into the human world again to cause problems, then it will only cause the humans to see us as a threat. A threat they will want to eliminate."
"History has shown how violent they can be," Centarumon sighed, then looks up at the ceiling. "And yet the Digidestined showed us how many of them are not violent at all."
"Agreed," Gennai then begins receiving a message. "Looks like Frigimon, Meramon and Monzaemon have made it to Primary Village. They'll be able to keep it safe until we figure out what our next move is."
"What about the others?" Centarumon asked.
"I don't know," it is then they received another message. Gennai sees the message and looks shocked. "Centarumon, find Unimon and send him to this location right away."
Human World (Kari's pov)
We came back to my brother's place where Izzy told us that Gennai was able to get Azulongmon to send us some power to get our Digimon to Digivolve to the Mega-level. My brother and Matt took off to meet up with Sora so they can contact the others. They also went to check out all the schools that have kids with high IQs. We figure whoever made the towers have to be as smart as Ken to make them.
The last time we heard from them they were heading to go check out Ken's school. Izzy explained that the power we were given came from a new source that Azulongmon found to help our Digimon get to the Mega-level.
The power was also transferred to our friends, who can use the power just in case we need backup. He thinks it will also work for the others who need their Digimon to DNA-Digivolve. However, they still aren't sure if the new power will bypass the dark tower's power. Izzy still needs to learn more about these towers and how they are able to bring back Digimon that we defeated so long ago.
"So, we have LadyDevimon and Beelzemon working for the Virus King," said my brother who like the rest of us looks concerned. "We'll have to assume there are more like them working for the Virus King. At least in the Mega-level.
"If that's true, then think it's possible he got Daemon to join him?" T.K. asked.
"Who is Daemon?" Chris asked.
"Oh yeah, you guys don't know about the Digimon we fought," said Izzy who decides to tell our friends about one of our past enemies. "He was a Mega-level Digimon that Kari, T.K, and the others fought a few years ago. They defeated him by sending him to the Dark Ocean world where we believe he won't escape from."
"And what makes you think he escaped now?" Rachel asked while petting a sleepy Lopmon on her lap.
"If the Virus King is recruiting Digimon to join him, then no doubt he might find a way to free Daemon," Gatomon replied.
"If that's true then we've got another Digimon to deal with," said Yan who looks concerned like the others. "With our Digimon's new power though can they take down the Mega-levels?"
Izzy nods and begins typing something on his laptop showing an image of the dark tower. "I was able to analyze a little bit of the towers thanks to the information Gennai send. It looks like they were designed to keep our Digimon from DNA Digivolve, but they weren't design to keep our Digimon from Digivolving."
"That doesn't make sense," said Yan as he checks the computer. "Whoever made those towers would still try to keep our Digimon from Digivolving in any other way. So, why didn't whoever made these towers do that?"
We see Rachel stand up and walk towards Yan. "I agree. If I was a supervillain I would learn from the mistakes of the past bad guys and make sure they are corrected."
"They have a point," I said agreeing with my friends. "So, is there an explanation for that, Izzy?"
"Gennai and I talked about that," Izzy types on his computer again and begins showing more information. "I talked to Ken and he told us that the Control Spirals needed a lot of energy to do what they were made for. So it stands to reason that these towers require the same kind of energy to keep our Digimon from DNA-Digivolving, and also bring back our past enemies."
"So it wasn't a mistake," T.K. began. "It was just a choice on keeping our Digimon from using their full power or limiting to what it could do and be able to bring back our past enemies."
"I guess whoever made them didn't think our new friends could Digimon beyond the Champion-level," I said while smiling at Chris next to me.
I see him smile back and then spoke towards Izzy. "But now that the bad guys know our Digimon can all go Mega, do you think they will try finding a way to stop us?"
"Maybe," Izzy replied. "But for now get some rest everyone and we'll figure this out tomorrow."
"Sounds like a plan," said Rachel as she yawned loudly. "I am getting tired and hungry. Hey Yan, you and BA interested in getting some lunch?"
"BA?" Yan asked confusedly.
"BlackAgumon," Rachel replied. "You don't mind me saying it like that, right?"
Yan shook his head and turns towards BlackAgumon. "Do you mind?"
BlackAgumon shook his head as well. "It's better than any other name I have been given before. So, you said something about lunch?"
We see Rachel turn towards where Chris and I are at smiling. "Do you guys want to come?"
"Nah, I'm going to go take Renamon home to get some rest," said Chris who turns towards me. "You want to come?"
I nod in response and turn towards T.K. "Do you want to come too?"
T.K. shook his head. "I'm going to wait till Matt gets back. We're going out to dinner with our parents."
"Okay, tell them we said hi," I said as Chris and I left the apartment.
Meanwhile (Normal pov)
Tai and Sora head over to Ken's school after they finished checking out the last three schools with Matt. He left to go meet up with his brother so they could go eat dinner with their parents. This was fine for his friends since they needed to check out one more school before heading back to meet with Izzy. As they head over to the school, they went over what they are looking for.
They knew whoever made the Dark Towers has to be someone who is as smart as Ken. It also has to be someone with a troubled past, and is considered an outcast. The last schools they went through did show many kids with these problems, but they didn't have the same kind of IQ or anything higher than Ken's. They figure someone at Ken's school should fit what they are looking for.
Ken doubts it is anyone from his school, but they had to be sure. So he agreed to meet up with them when they come by.
"What if who we are looking for isn't here?" Sora asked.
"If not then let's hope whoever is making these towers isn't anyone from this world," Tai replied. "By the way, are you sure you wanted to bring your brother in this fight? You know how it affected the others when they fought and even destroyed evil Digimon."
Sora nods knowing how Yolei and Cody felt when they destroyed the evil Digimon that worked with Daemon. They didn't like how they had to destroy them, but they knew they didn't have any choice.
"I told Yan about our adventures and the dangers that came with them. He still wanted to come though because he wanted to help out. He wanted to help fight against the evil Digimon and keep them from hurting others. I told him what would happen if we have to fight an evil Digimon, but he told me he will be okay with it."
Tai sighed. "I hope your right. Kari was concerned about getting Chris and Rachel involved. They seem okay now, but if the fight gets bigger that might change."
"Let's just hope it doesn't come down to that," said Sora as they spot Ken waiting for them outside his school. "Ken!"
Ken looks over and sees his friends. "Guys, welcome. Glad you both made it. Where is Matt?"
"He couldn't make it," Tai replied. "He had to go to some family dinner."
"I see, well I hope you don't mind I brought Davis along," said Ken just as his friend came towards them with a bag of chips.
"Hey guys, it's about time you got here," said Davis as he puts the bag away. "Ken and I are starving."
"Yeah, sorry we took a little longer getting here because of traffic," Tai apologized as he turns towards the school to see some students still walking around. "So, did you guys find any potential suspects?"
Ken nods in response. "Three, but only two of them are here. The other is at the hospital resting from a car accident."
"So, I guess that third suspect is out," said Sora.
"What about that Nicholas guy?" Davis asked.
"Nicholas?" Tai asked towards Ken.
"He's one of my friends," Ken replied. "So I doubt he's behind anything evil."
"I don't know. The guy did give me a creepy kind of vibe," said Davis recalling his meeting with Nicholas earlier.
An hour earlier
Ken and Davis arrived to the school to look for any potential suspects that could be the one making the Dark Towers. Ken knew all the students after working on the yearbooks earlier in the semester. So he knew the names and used them to look up their background. He didn't like it since it was invasion of privacy, but he had to be sure none of them became the new Digimon Emperor.
Thankfully he didn't peaked too much into their background. Just the parts about any troubled past that fit the same profile he had when he became the Digimon Emperor. Only a few fit the profile, but he knew what they studied also mattered. To make a tower like the ones right now must be done in a precise way in order to be as dangerous like his Control Spirals.
Davis spend most of the time keeping an eye out to make sure they didn't get in trouble. They didn't bring their Digimon because they didn't want to risk them being seen if the one they are looking for is at the school. If the guy or girl saw them with their Digimon then it might cause them to escape into the Digital World. If that happens they'll never find out who it is.
"You done in there?" Davis whispered.
Ken comes out of the room he is in and nods. "I narrowed it down to three of them. However, one of them is in the hospital with an injury."
"Well, it doesn't mean the guy or girl couldn't still be causing problems while resting," said Davis.
Ken couldn't deny that was a possibility. "We'll go check that out later. Right now we should go wait for the others."
"Ken?" they look over and see Ken's friend approaching them. "What are you doing here? You don't have class today."
"Sorry Nicholas," Ken replied trying to act cool. "I just came by to show my friend around the school."
Nicholas looks over and sees Ken's friend. "You're that Davis kid, right?"
Davis nods in response. "Yeah, you know me?"
"Yes I do," Nicholas replied. "A lot of us remember that soccer game you guys had where you kept Ken from getting that last goal in. I have to say before that day no one has ever stopped Ken from getting a goal in."
Davis began to smile. "Oh well that was nothing. I was just doing my best to help my team win."
"Even though you lost," said Ken getting a reaction out of his friend. "Anyways, it has been good seeing you Nicholas. Are you going to be here when my friends arrive?"
Nicholas shook his head. "I'm afraid I'm going to be out for the summer. I'm going to the states to meet a family relative."
"Oh okay. Well, have a good summer then," said Ken as he shakes his friend's hand.
"You too," said Nicholas as he moves his hand to Davis. "Have a safe summer too, Davis."
"You too, Nicholas," said Davis as he shakes the boy's hand, only to feel a cold chill run up his spine.
It was at that moment that Davis felt time slow down as he stares at Nicholas who smiles at him. But behind that smile Davis could feel something dark coming from him. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he didn't like it. As soon as their hands separated time felt like it went back to normal and Nicholas took off.
Present time
"I told Ken about what I felt and he didn't believe me," said Davis as he finishes explaining what happened. "We checked the guy's background so he could prove his friend isn't a bad guy."
"And?" Sora asked curious on what they found.
Davis motions to Ken to show them. Ken sighed and shows his friends what they found. "It turns out Nicholas's parents died when he was young and did show some signs of fitting in at a young age. But that changed and he hasn't shown any signs of having any problem like I did."
"Ken, we should still check this guy out," said Tai understanding Ken's feeling about this. "Look, if your friend is innocent in all of this then we'll find nothing. But we should still check this out anyways."
Ken sighed again and knew he wasn't going to win this argument. "Fine, but I think we should also check out the others just in case."
"You guys take care of that," said Tai as he turns towards Davis. "Go talk to them, while Sora and I go meet this Nicholas before he takes off. If we find nothing then we'll mark him off the list, okay?"
Davis nods in response. "Just be careful."
"We will," said Sora as Ken hands them the address to Nicholas's place and head off. "Do you think Davis is right? You know, about Ken's friend?"
Tai had a worried expression on his face unsure what to think. "If his gut tells him this guy is bad news then we should trust it. He wouldn't make an accusation like this, unless it's some guy he doesn't like that is hitting on Kari."
Sora didn't giggle or laugh after seeing Tai's expression hasn't changed. She is concerned and is hoping Davis is wrong.
"If this guy is who we are looking for?"
Tai knew what they would have to do. "Let's go get Agumon and Biyomon, just in case."
Digital World (Gennai's pov)
I'm sitting in my living room where I finished making myself some tea. I needed some after finishing getting Izzy everything we went over about the Dark Towers and how the new powers their Digimon have will be protected from being blocked by any new kind of towers that are made. I know it was a lot to ask from Azulongmon, but he understood. We're going to need everything we have if we are going to beat the Virus King.
I just hope that we finish this soon before he makes his move to capture Kari. If she is captured and the Virus King is revived then all of this will be for nothing. Perhaps now would be the best time to keep her from getting involved in any more conflicts. I'll need to talk to her brother to convince her so she doesn't get captured by any of the Virus King's minions.
We got lucky so far, especially with the defeat of Piedmon. If it wasn't for the extra power boost then they would have captured her and the Digidestined would have been killed.
"Maybe it was a mistake to get them involved," I said to myself as I put my cup down. "They have done so much to help save our worlds that asking them again like this would be too much. I know it is their destiny, but even so they are still children."
I hear my door sliding open and in comes my guest who has been sleeping. He walks over and sits across from me carefully.
"Slept well?" I asked.
He nods as I pour him some tea. "Thank you for letting me stay here."
"It's the least I can do," I said as I finished pouring the tea. "After all you went through though I think it is best for you to get some rest."
He shook his head. "No, I need to help the Digidestined as soon as possible before the Virus King makes his next move."
I move away the tea pot and cup to prepare to hear what he has to say. "Tell us what we need to know then, Leomon."
