Chapter Twenty-Six
Dean closes the hotel room door behind him, making sure to lock it. He drops his bag by the dresser. When he turns, he sees Emma quietly taking her shoes off. How is he supposed to make this right? She won't look at him. She hasn't talked to him since she walked out of catering. Letting out a heavy breath, Dean sits down on the end of the bed. He needs to do something if he wants her to stick around.
"Emma…"
"Don't talk to me," she interrupts.
"Don't…" He sighs. "How am I supposed to fix this if I can't talk to you?"
She turns and stares at him. "Do you even know what needs to be fixed? Or are you just going to apologize and hope I'll accept that?"
He watches her carefully. "I'm sorry I accused you of sleeping with Alex. I know you aren't. I just hated how close he was to you. Doesn't make it okay for how I acted."
"If you think that is the only thing…"
"I heard what you told Roman." He sees Emma's face fall at that. "I blame myself for you thinking I don't love you."
"Dean…"
"Did you know that I've never told anyone that I love them?" He shrugs. "I was seventeen the first time I remember my mom telling me she loves me. I simply nodded my response. My dad has never told me. It's not something the Ambrose family does. It's hard enough for me to tell people I'm sorry let alone tell them I love them. And I have stupid ways of letting people know if I do. Though, there aren't many. Ask Roman about it." He licks his lips as he watches her closely. "I'm trying, Emma. But it's not something that comes easy for me. I wish it could be something I could just say and not have to think about it."
"If you…"
"I have to think about it because I've seen too many people walk in and out of my life like there's no tomorrow. My own parents, Emma, have done that. It scares the hell out of me to think about feeling that way and then having that person walk away from me."
"And you think I'd walk away from you?"
"No." He looks up when Emma moves to stand in front of him. "It doesn't mean I don't love you. I just…" He swallows hard as he watches her. "Damn it." He rests his hands on her hips, hoping she won't pull away. When she steps closer, he sighs of relief. "It kills me to know that I'm hurting you."
Emma combs her fingers through Dean's hair. "Do you love me?" She can feel him tense up. "I don't need to hear the word right now. It's a yes or no answer. Do you love me?"
He nods as he meets her gaze. "Yes." He watches her nervously.
"See me? I'm not leaving. Dean, you mean the world to me. I don't care if we fight every day. Since this whole thing started I knew. Do I want to hear you say it? Yes, obviously. It's every girl's dream to hear them from the man she knows is her everything. For now I'm okay with just knowing you do."
He pulls her closer and kisses her softly. He sighs happily into the kiss when she straddles his thighs. "I'm sorry, Emma."
"I know." She kisses him again. "You can't always lose your temper like that though."
"I know." He cups her face in his hands. "You are amazing." He pulls her back into another kiss.
Emma paces the ring as she watches Paige make her way down to the ring with Charlotte beside her. As Charlotte rounds the ring and over to Lilian, Paige is climbing into the ring.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Lilian starts, "I have just been informed that this match is now a two on one handicap match. Introducing Emma's opponents, the Diva's Champion Paige and Charlotte."
Emma frowns as she moves away from the ropes. It doesn't take long for Paige and Charlotte to get the upper hand. It takes even less time for them to double team her, causing the match to be called. Charles Robinson finally gets them out of the ring before kneeling down beside Emma. As she sits up, she hears Stephanie's music start. She holds onto the back of her neck.
"So what's this surprise that you supposedly have?" Stephanie asks before laughing softly. "Something tells me that you and your two goons have nothing. So let me tell you something, Emma, watch your back. These two will always be around."
Emma walks to the back and heads for the locker room. She smiles when she sees Dean standing outside of the room. "Hey," she says.
"Hey." He gives her a quick kiss. "How'd it go?"
"Not bad. I got my ass kicked."
He grins. "Been there. So you know what I think?"
"What do you think?"
"You come down to my locker room and shower with me."
"And what do I get out of it?" She smiles at the look on his face. "We both know it's not a good idea, Dean."
"Says who?"
"Me." She rests her hand on his stomach. "You done for the night?"
"Yeah."
"Think Roman could get a ride with someone if he wants to stay?"
"He left already actually. Took a cab back to the hotel."
"Go get changed and meet me at the exit."
Dean frowns at that. "And what about you?"
She smiles as she leans up to kiss him. "I'm going to go change and meet you and the exit."
"Okay." He smiles against her lips. "See you in a few."
Emma slips out of her shoes after they get back to their room. She turns and watches Dean set his bag down. Walking over, she slides her hands up his stomach and around to his back. Dean looks down at her.
"So now what?" he asks.
She smiles before licking at his neck. "We shower… together."
"Oh really?" He smiles as he takes hold of her hair and tugs back gently. "Do I get to have my way with you?"
She grins. "Of course."
Dean steps into the shower behind Emma and pulls the curtain closed. He wraps his arms around her from behind and pulls her back against him. "Have you ever had sex in the shower before?"
She blushes as she turns in his arms. "No. Always wanted to though."
He smirks. "Glad I get to be your first." He kisses her as he pushes her against the wall, smiling when she gasps at the cold hitting her back. "Sorry."
She slides her hands up his back. "It's okay." She moans as Dean slides a finger into her.
"Damn, Baby." He licks his lips and rests his forehead on hers. "So ready for me already."
She whimpers. "Please, Dean." She rests her hands on his shoulders when he shifts them and wraps her legs around his waist. She drops her mouth open in a soft gasp as he pushes into her. "Oh wow."
He smiles, holding onto her hips. "Come here." He kisses her softly as he starts moving at a steady pace.
Emma wraps her arms around Dean's neck, rolling her hips as best as she can. "Oh Dean."
"You feel so good, Short Stack." He finds her mouth again. He hopes she's not far from losing herself, because he doesn't know how long he'll be able to last.
"Oh yes." She whimpers as she drops her head to the wall. "Right there. Oh yes…" She lifts her head to look at him once again. "Dean…" She cries out as she comes.
Dean pushes into her one last time before he reaches his own release. He kisses her, holding her against him. After another moment, he shifts them and slips out of her. "Wow."
Emma smiles as she stands once again. "You're telling me." She leans up and kisses him softly.
