A.N: Like my creature? He's a cutie isn't he? I just realized I'm almost at 100 reviews so I want to say you guys are amazing thanks for loving my story!
Shelia13: I bet it was Robin who gave him the idea. OMG howls moving castle! You know the guy who voices Roy Harper in YJ voices the cabbage scarecrow thing in Howl's moving Castle. I met him and he was so sweet.
Beawolf's Pen: Just writing about Wally makes me want to be sad and I'm like no, I must go on! Yeah, they better get their heads together if they want to actually do something! *bows* thank you, thank you.
I don't own GLTAS and YJ
Italics are Thoughts
Imbalanced Sometimes
When I had gone after the monster, I left behind the others to discuss what just happened, or argue about it.
"Great Teamwork….not!" Robin commented.
"I can't believe it, we had him!" Hal yelled.
"I thought you said you guys had it." Kid Flash said sarcastically.
"Well, I didn't exactly say-"
"Where are you going with this, Whiney?" Killowag taunted.
"Whiney!"
"Not now, Killowag." Hal insisted.
"Oh, hang on!" Killowag ignored Hal, "I think he was about to tell us something important."
"You know what, I was!" Kid yelled back. "You guys should remember there are other people in the room who could help."
"Sorry, we couldn't notice you all being slow."
"Killowag!" Hal called out.
"Kid." Aqualad tried to say.
"Me slow! I'll show you-"
"NO!" Miss Martian yelled through the mind link. Then she said out load, "We just needed a bit more communication."
"I'll say." Killowag mumbled. "We could have used that little telepathy thing to help get orders around."
"I-I just forgot to ask if it was ok before so I hesitated and-"
"Hesitation gets you killed out in the field."
"It wasn't her fault." Superboy cut in, "She was under pressure."
"And saving you from falling even though she should know you can take a hit harder then you did before. If you were my student-"
"Which she isn't." Kid Flash muttered.
Killowag heard it and eyed him as if he were his next kill. "Killowag stop it!" Hal yelled, putting a hand on Killowag's shoulder. "Look, buddy, you got to understand these kids work differently than we do. They have different powers yes but they have had time to adjust. We didn't. This is only our first mission and I do think we are the ones who messed up."
"At least he has some sense." Kid Flash muttered.
Before Killowag could try and skin Kid alive, Hal said. "Well hang on-"
"Yes." Aqualad added, "But Kid, negative comments won't make things better. Let Hal Jordan speak to Killowag."
Hal nodded thanks to Aqualad and continued. "Maybe Mary has a point." This got everyone to listen, especially the boys. "It's hard to depend on others who don't have the same powers as we do, and maybe it's a good thing to be here then. To learn. We need this as much as Mary does. Even though our fist mission wasn't a success, it doesn't mean we're done." Inspired by his words, the team had flash backs to the times they had many missions which took thousands of times to accomplish. The boys thought about Mary, now understanding why she was worried, because things like this could happen and it would just be chaos. And there would be arguments.
"Hey," Robin started to say, "Where is Mary?"
))))))))))))) Back with Me (((((((((((((((((
It had no teeth. And even though its body could be mistaken for a reptile, like a dragon or something dangerous, it's head was literally a salamander with the innocent black eyes and the horns that were stubby, nothing scary. It's just an illusion to get others to be afraid and run away, to leave it alone.
It gave a light growl and pressed its webbed paws down on my hands to keep me from getting up. It flared its nostrils and showed nothing but gums. I looked at its eyes again and saw something I didn't see before. With all the rush, there was something no one was able to see until now. In its eyes I saw….fear. "Shh…" I cooed. "It's ok…..it's ok. I'm not going to hurt you."
It stopped growling and looked at me in surprise. Its stubby horn flaps went up like ears and its eyes blackened more, creating a shine. It looked down at my chest to see the symbol of the green lantern on my uniform. It somehow recognized it, looking at me as if it knew who I was. It grunted and then it looked like it was about to say something. No really, it sounded like it was going to say, "Green." But all that came out was "Grrrr." And the others who finally caught up to me didn't take it so good.
"Mary!" I heard Hal yell.
There was a flash of white and it looked like flash powder was thrown at its face. It tumbled back but quickly recuperated by digging away. I stood up, running after it and yelling, "Wait!" But the tunnel was filled back with dirt by the time I finished yelling. "Mary." Hal called out as he stood next to me. "Hey, you ok?"
"I was fine I didn't need your help."
"But it had you down." Killowag said.
"It was observing me. He didn't try and hurt me." By that time the team was behind us, watching as we talked.
"How do you know it was a he?"
"I just had a feeling."
"Oh no, I hate gut feelings."
"Killowag, just…no." Hal told him. Then he looked at me and said, "How did you know he wasn't trying to hurt you?"
"If he wanted to he would have hurt me already but he didn't."
"He just wanted to run away then." Aqualad concluded, "He's harmless."
"I'll say," Robin said, looking at something on his holo-computer. "The only thing dangerous about it is the claws in the back, other then that this thing wouldn't to do much damage."
"So if it's not here to hurt people…." Kid Flash began.
"Wait? You immediately assumed it was a threat?" I asked angrily.
"No, no, Lany." Robin tried to reason. "You got to understand it's sort of our job to do that."
"Not really." Zatanna cut in, "She has a point, and not everything is a threat. It's in a different world, something unlike its own. It's probably scared."
Hal had been thinking about the information they got and asked, "Wait? Do you guys even know how it came here?"
No one answered that question. Then Aqualad said, "We have been asking the wrong questions and taking the wrong approaches."
"As a Sergeant, I'd say your right." Killowag said, "But as you temporary follower, I'd say it could have gone worse."
"Was that a compliment?" Rocket asked with a sly smile.
"One time deal."
"So what do we do now?" Artemis asked.
"We go find the creature." I insisted.
"No, we go back to the Cave." Aqualad ordered.
"Why?"
"Lany, have you even checked the time?" Robin asked, "We've been up since we woke up this morning to find you and then go to Oa."
"Oh, wow, that late?" I stated. "Then let's go!"
We got on the Bioship back to Mount Justice. On our way, Kaldur said we would resume or mission tomorrow evening. Walking into Mount Justice we realized something, "Um…." I began, "Where will Killowag stay?" I asked. "I mean, I don't think going through another round trip with Kid's lame I spy game is up for-"
"It's not lame." He whined.
M'gann said, "Oh, we have extra rooms here, he could take one. Superboy, Zatanna, and I live here so I'm sure it will be fine. Right?" She asked the last question to Killowag.
"I can sleep anywhere." He said.
"No seriously." Hal said "He can sleep anywhere and at any time. He can sleep through an asteroid collision."
"And you can sleep through an Apocalypse." Killowag retorted.
"Well, not tonight, I have to go back to Coast City to wake up tomorrow to lecture a class at the nearby University."
"And who's going to watch Killowag?" I asked.
"Watch me? I don't need watching."
"Yeah, you do." I looked at Hal and said, "I'll stay. I'm off the weekend for school."
"You make me sound like a baby." Killowag muttered.
"You aren't, but I have a feeling curiosity about this place will lead you to rooms that may be off limits."
"Oh cool, Mary is gonna stay." Wally said excited.
"But we got to go, genius." Robin told him.
"Oh yeah."
"Why so excited?" Artemis asked, sounding just a bit jealous.
"Well, we told Mary to come visit the cave and hang with us but now we can't hang with her. Also, I can't do this." Wally with his speed grabbed my head in a head lock and rubbed it.
"Ah! Kid, Stop!"
"Quick Robin, get her weak spot!"
"Don't you dare!"
Bird boy came in and started to poke me on the side, making me laugh. "Ahahha! Stop-ha- please!" I grabbed the side of Wally's suite and pulled him to the floor, both of us falling down on each other. Then I struck the side of Robin's feet and he fell on me too. "Ha!" I yelled, "I have the upper hand, remember."
We continued to wrestle until Hal came around and pulled me and Wally off each other and then stuck a foot out between me and Robin. "Ok, the three of you should know you don't do that anymore, and at this age. Isn't that a bit immature?"
"Well Robin's fourteen." I said, "I think that still qualifies."
"I'll show you immature." Robin said, and before he could tackle me again, Kaldur came around and put a hand on Robin's shoulder.
Kaldur said, "Hal Jordan does make a point."
An old joke suddenly popped into my mind. "Kaldur Killjoy."
"Oh yeah I remember that!" Wally almost yelled. "Kaldur the Killjoy!"
The Atlantian rolled his eyes and then a sly smirk showed on his face. He then reached over, grabbed Wally by the shoulder and shoved him down to the floor so that Wally fell on his knees. "Ow…"
"Oooo." I cooed. "You just got owned."
A.N: I think their finally starting to come to terms and the creature is slowly coming out of hiding. Don't you just love to mess with friends as if you were still young? I do. Killowag and Mary are staying the night, how will it go? I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
