(A/N- start)

Hey guys, here's the epilogue I promised. It leads into what happened next.

Some ideas are based on the work of other fanfiction writers, and with the first species development based on a fanfiction by thebluninja.

Enjoy!

Epilogue

Prior to the harvest, humanity had discovered several earth-like, and near-equal systems in the Galaxy.

In this case, this planet was the same size as earth, although the continents were a slightly different shape. Same sort of orbit, although the star was slightly smaller, and the entire system had seven gas giants, rather than four, but it was acceptable. There were two Mercury-like planets, no Pluto equivalent, a larger earth-like planet on the opposite side of the current earth's orbit (no moon though), and a smaller mars-like planet.

However, the biology was compatible, the atmosphere was good, and humanity settled there. They didn't have much, only one ship, but they were able to make due, using automated mining machines for some rare minerals they had found.

Then the reapers came, and blasted the single freighter vessel away, and took out the antennae on the ground.

The colony was stranded.

When the Loa had arrived, with a lifeboat, the colony stubbornly refused to come with them, citing their reason as 'You robots are just waiting to turn us into slaves, you hear! We won't stand for it!'

So the Loa left.

Fast-forward 23,417.6 years, and human society had died out, on that world. But the basic ruins remained- carbonium tended to last.

Then, the ships came. Huge, blocky things, each resembling a rifle, half a kilometer long, with huge blocky engines attached. Shuttles descended, dropping towards the planet like thrown stones, each no more than a box with breaking fins and an engine at the bottom.

The first to land exploded outwards, and out came a huge figure. Six eyes stared at the ruin, somewhat collapsed by time, and the basic structure surrounding it. A three-fingered hand, big enough to wrap around a human skull with space to spare, picked up a metallic object- it was an omni-tool, or the remnants of one. The triangular mouth grinned, showing off dozens of needle-sharp fangs.

As the other pods landed, the Yahg roared, and it's roar was echoed by the others.

Another ship, this one sleek, with an organic texture, and bulbous lines, dropped out of the Widow relay. Less than an hour later, the first Mgalekgoko set foot onto the almost silent citadel. The space-suited figure was barely small enough to fit in the corridor they had docked with, and took off it's helmet, allowing the colony of wormlike beings to take their first breath of the air, unused for millennia.

A third ship dropped out of FTL, into orbit around Ilos. It wasn't a very nice-looking ship, and the creatures that piloted it were not very nice. The ship looked like a giant bone, half-chewed, yet with meat left, with somewhat organic components interleaved with inorganic components. The Musk Dogs didn't really care for appearances, but they put a lot of stock in smells, and tastes, and their technology reflected it.

Soon, a probe dropped to the surface, descending on a tether, looking like nothing more than a spider dropping into the atmosphere, with a fleshy growth connecting it to the ship in orbit.

Thousands of light years away from these events, stasis pods appeared, dropping an impermeable layer of spacetime away from their patients, and allowing time to flow for these people again.

John and Tali stretched, and began chasing each other all over the island they had requisitioned from the Loa, changing shape to catch each other or evade each other in fractions of a second.

Shepherd and Liara relaxed on the balcony of their home, and smelled the delicious scent of applegrass that now grew around their home. Their possessions were safe as well- or replaced by the Loa, but they did such a good job neither would probably ever know. A skittering on the wall took their attention, and both sets of eyes turned to look square at the land-squid, which watched them for a moment, before jumping off the wall, and latching onto a scorpion-like creature that had been eating a few flowers. The two organisms tussled, while the human and Asari watched in wonder.

Samara came out of stasis, and was slightly disoriented. The landscape used to be a desert, and now- it was a deciduous forest. They heard some odd chittering, and a Loa walked up, with a pony-sized Rachni.

"Everyone out of stasis? Right! Follow Smeller-of-Storms, and she will show you to your lodgings. I've got some other pods to awaken." With that brief statement, the Loa appeared to fold sideways, become impossibly thin, and disappear.

The Justicar looked down, and saw, in the loam, the footprints of where the Loa used to stand, as well as a thin scorch mark. Things may have changed a bit...

Wrex blinked, and opened his eyes. All around him, other Krogan were coming out of stasis, and grabbing weapons. He did the same, pulling a shotgun off the wall, and began walking out of the room. He almost bumped into a familiar face- Okeèr, and the two exchanged a traditional Krogan greeting.

Wrex slammed his armored forehead against Okeèr's, and bellowed "OKEÈR! YOU OLD LIZARD! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?"

Okeèr chuckled, barely fazed. "I have been well, Wrex. Grunt-" the greying Krogan turned to the somewhat juvenile Krogan behind him, and introduced the male. "- this is Wrex, and old acquaintance. Wrex, meet my son, Grunt. He is the product of my research to make a perfect Krogan."

Wrex narrowed his eyes. "What happened to the rejected clones? I-"

Suddenly there was a roar from outside the bunker-like structure, and all three Krogan raced outside, to see what would be called a T-Rex, if not for the fact it was larger than any Terran dinosaur (almost seven stories at the shoulder), and covered in spines, locked in combat with a thresher maw.

The huge worm seemed to have the upper hand, until the dinosaur opened its mouth, and spit a flaming fluid at it. In seconds, the dinosaur had overpowered the worm, and took a massive bite out of it. It swallowed the huge chunk of worm, and roared on triumph, titanic jaws large enough to engulf a aircar whole.

Wrex, Grunt, and Okeèr all had the same thought at that moment: "I want one!"

"Like the megaRex?" The Krogan turned to see a Loa, this one in one of the cube-like battle mechs, float down, and step onto the grassy plain. "Wait until you see the SkyShark!"

The end... For now.

I know this was a quick update, but inspiration struck- and it's currently raining outside, so I can't go to the beach like I planned. Also lighting is out there, and I don't want to get struck again.

Anyway, this is truly the last update for CotV, and I will post the first chapter of my next story in a week or so.

If I post a sequel, there will be another chapter after this one.

Remember- please review and favorite, if you enjoyed it! If you hated this story, review if you can be civil. Otherwise, well... Bad things. Many bad thing. Mwahahahaha!
