Chapter 26: Revelations and secrets

She opened her eyes, got up and looked around….
It was pitch black around her, she called out "Hello?"
No response.
She tried again but this time she felt a warm voice behind her, she turned around and found herself in front of a beautiful lady with long and black stright, hair who was smiling at her.
She was wearing a dress of a miko but had an armour on it and was holding a round pink jewel in her hand.

"M- Midoriko – sama…."

"Kagome, child….. You are going to be a powerful miko in a few moments…. Here, take this…" she handed the Shikon-no-tama to the young miko.

"Now close your eyes, keep the jewel close to your chest and concentrate on your mind"

Kagome did as she was told and around her appeared 17 small lights of different colours and then she opened her eyes.
"Touch these lights one by one slowly…."

As Kagome started to touch the light one by one, some faded away while some remained. At the end only 3 were remaining, then Midoriko spoke "These are the only 3 light remaining, these 3 signify your 3 powers…. Music,beauty and…. Purification…"

Kagome smiled, suddenly a man appeared next to Midoriko, shocking Kagome.

"Papa….."

Hiroto smiled at his daughter and they hugged each other as Kagome cried tears of joy. When they broke off he said "I'm so happy to see you after all these years" he smiled, "And you've become a beautiful young lady…." And Kagome smiled in return

Hiroto turned serious all of a sudden and spoke "Listen, you have gained 3 powers, and you know that it's very rare for a miko or a priest to have more than 2 powers….but the most feared power by demons is purification… and if everyone gets to know, it can put your life at risk… therefore I don't want you to tell anybody, I reapeat, anybody that you have purification powers, alright?"

"But Papa…. Why?"

"There is someone who watches you all the time, the same person who killed me… Magathsui…"

"I remember he used to be a friend of yours but then…" she gasped "Y-you mean…Uncle Magathsui?", he nodded

Midoriko started to speak "You have a job Kagome, you will have to purify Magathsui when the time comes… you have to do your best to enter the platinum class of the shikon high demon slaying team, learn the art of medicine which might be useful to you but when it comes to purification arts come down here since this places' aura is too pure to be watched over by Magathsui."

"And also, you have to learn to master your power of music because….we need you to find the remaining piece of the manuscript 'Omoi No Hate Ni'…. You see, this manuscript if played by someone who can master the power of not only music … it can destroy any demon but there's a catch… if it falls in the wrong hands of someone with dark desires… it can be used to harm lives"

"I will do my best papa…Midoriko-sama, please don't worry…"

"Whatever happens do not reveal anyone about your purification powers, don't even touch poisons as they will be instantly purified and your secret revealed…" said Hiroto and then smiled, he and Midoriko said together "Whatever happens, don't fear…we and all your Higurashi ancestors are watching over you". And with that Kagome re-opened her eyes, but this time in the real world.

Takahashi Mansion

Everyone was having fun when Rin shouted "Hey! It's Kagome!" and everyone ran up to her, and admired the new Kagome,
She was dressed in a pale pink dress (A/N:pic on FB) , but the most noticeable change about her was her hair, bluish raven like usual but this time with a few pink streaks in her hair.

"Prettay!" squealed all the girls making the miko laugh

"So… nee-chan…what are your powers?" asked an excited Souta

"Music and beauty" she smiled, at this even Inutaisho smiled but suddenly a thought hit him like a ton of bricks 'What if he returns?' the thought of the same incident that had happened to his best friend happening to Kagome scared him…

"So! Let's get this party started!" shouted Kouga

Somewhere else

"Beauty and…MUSIC? Whoa! Now, This brings back lovely memories…." Magathsui looked up as if talking to someone in Heaven "right…Hiroto?" and started laughing like a maniac….

"Yep… Let's get this party started!" and as he said that, sudden chills went down Kagome's spine 'what was that?' but she shrugged the thought thinking it might have been a light breeze.

Boy, was she wrong…
