Summary: Ever had that annoying habit of asking what ifs when you're down? Making up random scenarios in your head and wondering what the outcomes would be for each one? If only we could run our lives according to what we come up with. If only, in a perfect world, maybe. If only Derek hale hadn't tossed me aside like I meant nothing at all….yeah…if only.

A/N: Okay first off let me apologize for the delay on this chapter…. Have any of you seen the show Awkward. ? It's on MTV as well, well anyways, I had a moment from the show. -_- I'd been depressed a while ago and was slowly getting over it. No it wasn't anything that would cause me to hurt myself, but I had gotten on a motorcycle accident…and my family thought I attempted to kill myself -_- long story short…..hospitalized for two weeks….almost three…..yep….it sucks! Got my cast off my arm off so now its only a sling so I can type with one hand at least hehe. Unfortunately I still have bruised ribs and have pins in my leg T_T I fear the day I have to go get them removed….i still remember how bad they hurt! Ugh! Anways…..i missed the last two episodes and just now saw the first, so one more to go! However, this one got my creative juices flowing so here this is as a result hehe.

But…. did anyone else notice how the French teacher/guidance counselor pretty much hinted at the teen wolf ganging at a stalemate? =0 "impasse" I did! Lol anyways, a couple of people reviewed, and I want to thank them. =) Looks like some of you are curious about Cassie! Glad to see that, hope everyone is falling in love with the little kid! SO Im wondering who you guys picture for some of my OCs? =) Would anyone benefit from having a face to put to the names? Or would you all rather stick to whatever image you all conjure up in your minds? Let me know! =D

Kira's POV

"So, he's babysitting us?" my brother asked, stupidly, I might add. I just sighed. "Because I think I am way too old to be babysat and he's like…..not even a year older than me!" he complained.

"Actually, I'm sixteen, turning seventeen soon." Isaac spoke up, shrugging.

"He's not here for you he's here to babysit Cassie; she wanted him to come, so suck it up." I rolled my eyes and started walking away.

"Then why are Michelle and Seth allowed to go, I mean that seems a little unfair, don't you think?" He kept following me as I went into the kitchen to get my keys off the counter. I swiveled on my toes to face him.

"They're older than you, and they want to go meet others their age." My brother scoffed, feigning offense.

"Am I not mature enough for them? Cause I mean, I'm pretty badass." He fake popped is collar and I gave him a look. My little brother could be such a dork sometimes.

"Look Connor, it's so you can mingle with Derek's pack, too." I smiled to him, he just huffed and crossed his arms.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. Then why aren't the other two forced to mingle with this guy?" he had used air quotes around the word mingle and proceeded to jab his thumb at Isaac.

"Because Connor! They're meeting the other two and Isaac has to stay in hiding. Now stop arguing with me. I have things to do." I spoke up, annoyed.

"Mommy! I'm all done!" Cassie appeared at the top of the stairs, fresh clothes on after changing from her shower, her hair was still slightly wet.

"Okay baby girl, Isaac is here. Wanna say hello?" she smiled, nodding before rushing down the steps.

"Uncle Isaac!" she went to hug him and he awkwardly did, I guess it was still a bit for him to take what with Cassie being so forward. "Uncle Connor, this is my new fwen, Isaac!" her gap toothed smile shining brightly at them. I smiled at her, she was slowly getting accustomed to speaking with that temporary gap.

"Order takeout if the spaghetti and meatloaf aren't enough. There's money under the violet pot, yes the white and purple ones Connor." I added, answering the question I knew he was preparing himself to ask. "Thanks again Isaac, I think Alicia is still taking a shower, she takes forever." I rolled my eyes as I looked around to see if I was forgetting anything. "Be careful with her…..she's still pretty young, but she's quite the little flirt." I laughed and I heard Alicia shout out, offended from upstairs, crying out louder than the running shower. He looked uncomfortable.

"Don't worry bro, I'll keep her in check." My brother said and I rolled my eyes.

"Right, bro." I laughed and my brother just glared. "Okay, I should be back to pick you up and take you back to the…..your home... Isaac." I looked to him and he nodded. "That's it, make yourself at home. Mi casa es su casa." I spoke in my heavy Spanish accent. I turned to my brother. "Y tu, portate bien!" I chastised him in spanish, he just glared.

"Show off." He tried to grumble quietly before speaking loudly. "Speak English! I don't understand!" he glared.

"You speak Spanish?" Isaac asked me, surprised.

"Yeah, my mother was part Mexican." I smiled.

"KIra isn't Spanish though." He said confused.

"That's because that's not her name." Connor laughed and I glared at him. "Our dad is like distantly Greek or something, or british." I stared at him.

"British? They speak English over there, idiot." I sighed. "Maybe I really should enlist your sorry wolf butt in an actual school." My brother laughed awkwardly.

"Um…..yeah! I'd rather stick to you teaching me." I frowned.

"You don't bother listening anyways." He grinned.

"Exactly!" I rolled my eyes.

"Anyways," I acknowledged Isaac. "Our dad's name is Joshua Perseus Kendricks. I guess his dad was real adamant about names needing to have meaning."

"Yeah! I think even our late uncle had some weird Greek name too!" I laughed.

"We called him by his middle name." I chimed in. "I guess it was a coin toss between my grandmother and grandfather on who got to name them and who chose the middle name." I laughed.

"It makes me kind of glad I was the bastard child." My brother laughed, not caring after all these years. I just slapped the back of his head.

"Idiot." I mumbled. "Dad always said that if he had his way, you would have been named Dionysus or Eiji!" I laughed, m brother merely frowned."

"Whatever!" He scoffed, crossing his arms and turning away to hide his blatant embarrassment.

"So how did you end up with your name?" Oh right, I had gotten side tracked.

"Well my dad was between something Greek, following his parents' tradition, or something in Japanese that he picked up from an old college." I smiled. "But my mom kind of had an accent…." I blushed. "He wanted to name me Akira, but my mom made fun of it saying it sounded like aqui mira!" I laughed, imitating how my mom used to sound when she spoke in Spanish. "It meant here look," I continued. "Eventually, my dad settled for Kira since my mom disliked it a bit less than Akira…..that….and she got to name me Violet as my middle name." I shook my head.

"Wow." Isaac laughed. "And what's it supposed to mean, anyways?"

"It's suppose to be like bright I guess, not sure." I frowned, shrugging. "Not like it matters because my name is Kira, it was just really close to being Kirasten or something though." I shivered. "I would have been in the same boat as Stiles. A combination of the name my dad wanted and the name Kristen after my grandmother." I shivered again. "Okay! I have to go for reals now! Michelle and Seth are already outside, Cassie is watching tv, Connor is here, Alicia upstairs." I mumbled to myself, doing a head count. "Okay! Take care all of you and call me if anything comes up." I spoke quickly before going out.

"Does your sister like, not age?" I heard Isaac ask my brother.

"I don't know! People think she's my younger sister when we go out, it's kinda funny seeing her get so pissed." I heard him laugh, the little brat. I shook my head and walked to my car.

"So what are we doing again?"

"We are going to go and help find a book." I motioned to me and Michelle.

"A book?" Seth asked incredulously. I nodded. "What do I do then?"

"You are going to go to the volt, you remember which one? My dad mentioned it to you a couple of times." He pondered my words for a second before nodding.

"Yeah, something about family archives and keeping them hidden, in a storage type of thing, right?" I nodded to him, fishing a piece of paper with an address and series of numbers scribbled on it. I handed it to him.

"That's the address and pass code, I need you to see if you can find it. Bring the contents back to the school if you find anything. Maybe there's something on my dad's stuff. He was pretty old school, but I'm hoping it isn't just a manila folder with a bunch of papers stuffed in….anything you might think is useful, bring it." He nodded and then looked at me and I rolled my eyes, handing him my car keys. "Midge and I will run there, it's faster." He nodded. "Come on." I motioned to Michelle as I started trotting off towards the school.

I walked briskly by the cars in the lot and suddenly cursed myself and rethinking my choice on not bringing a jacket. I had figured it was pretty chilly out, but maybe the low v-neck long sleeve thermal I had on would be enough. Michelle looked at me unsure and I just shrugged, rubbing my bare hands together once and continuing. Together we made our way to the stands, I quickly spotted Stiles as he ran up to me.

"Okay, so I think this is a really bad idea now." Stiles said, urgently, shifting his eyes left and right, obviously overly wary. "Gerard is like right there on the stands!" he hissed and started biting his nails. I grabbed his hand, stopping him.

"Cut that out! It can actually increase your chances of colon cancer Stiles." I chastised. He looked at me incredulously, a bit flabbergasted. He got loser to me, showing his annoyance. "The head wolf hunter himself is in the stands, and you're patronizing me about biting my nails?" he asked harshly. "Are you freaking serious?!" I sighed when he tossed his hands through his hair and did a quick spin of the area.

"Stiles, calm down." I told him, grabbing his arms and pinning them to his side. "Midge, go sit anywhere on the stands, keep a look out for my signal, don't approach me otherwise, always just follow from a distance if I'm disappearing from your view." She nodded, a serious look on her face before I watched her blond head disappear in the crowd temporarily. "Now," I turned to stiles. "He already knows about me, he knows how lots of people in Beacon Hills think of me as a good Samaritan. In any case, it's not like I was going to walk right up to him, Stiles." I chastised like if it wasn't obvious enough. "Now, go, because this here?" I motioned to him, myself, and the little area around us. "This looks suspicious." I growled and pushed him towards the bench.

"Sheesh, no need to be so pushy," he groaned. And I growled, he just held up his hand sin defense. "Alright, alright! Now….go blend in." he rolled his eyes and turned around to walk to his spot.

"Good luck!" I called to him and walked around and behind the benches as I looked for a spot. I found one next to a curly haired woman who was looking through her purse. Upon closer inspection, I caught Melissa's scent. I smiled. "Excuse me miss, is this seat taken?" I used a fake, overly zealous tone and she started speak as she turned.

"Oh not at all, please- Kira!" I smiled at her. "Sit down, sweet heart!" She moved over the light blanket she had there out the way and placed it over her bag. I sat and she gave me a hug. "Scott told me you were back! How was your trip?" I felt my head unconsciously turn to the side again. I was confused; had this been the excuse Scott had told her? I just nodded my head after a bit.

"Oh yeah! It was nice! Um…..really…..cold?" I asked unsure of what the hell to go along with. She frowned and pulled me to her again in a gentle hug.

"Scott told me about how you left after your father suffered a stroke. I'm sorry about his passing, honey." I frowned. So that had been the excuse. I just looked away after she held me at arms' length. I cleared my throat.

"Ummm... yeah….thanks." I sighed and turned to look forward. I could almost feel her frowning at me. "So, Scott is Co-Captain now, huh?" I smiled, looking around, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary. I made eye contact with Scott, who nodded to me discreetly. I nodded back and he secretively, motioned to were Gerard was. 'I know.' I mouthed to him, he turned back around after that, the coach had blown the whistle. It looked like this game was about to begin. I spotted Michelle and she nodded as her hazel eyes made contact with me before focusing back to her task. "Stay vigilant" I said softly, knowing she'd catch them. I saw her nod her head, still not deterring her gaze from the field. "Don' look so tense." I told her lightly.

"Did you say something, hun?" Melissa asked me, still looking eagerly and worriedly at the field.

"Oh, no! Nothing!" I said quickly, brushing back my hair with my hand. "Oh! Hold on a second!" she quickly turned into her bag just as the whistle blew for the game to start and the players were off. "Go Scott go!" she shouted out to the field after turning at the sound. She then handed me a hair tie. "Here you go." She smiled at me. "Lord knows I know what a hassle curly hair can be!" she laughed. "And yours is already so long!" she awed and smiled before going back to look at the field. I tied up my hair quickly, using my normal nails to brush back the loose strands. I attempted to pay attention to the game, wincing every time that abnormally large kid slammed into one of our own, but I was still trying to focus on everything else around us.

I listened in as Jackson, angrily growled at Scott. Okay, so the kid knew about werewolves. He even showed interest in becoming one and Derek bit him. What was his damage? Had he turned? I doubted he had from the way he was pressuring Scott into using his werewolf abilities to win the game. He tried to forcibly demand that Scott do something, I turned to look at the other team's star player. Jackson was right, having that kid on the team couldn't possibly be fair. Weren't steroids in any sport banned or something? Had that changed since I had last gone to school in this district? I shook my head when I heard Scott remind Jackson, and myself, of Gerard's presence. I then spotted Stiles, slowly getting up and he mouthed out 'Wait.' I just looked at him confused and highly unsure. I rolled my eyes, only to wince at the sound of bones breaking.

"Ouch.." I heard Melissa suck in a breath through her teeth and shake her head as a BH player was taken away on a gurney, complaining about his legs.

"He belong to you?" I turned at the sound of a tall, brown haired boy wearing a lacrosse jersey with a camera in his hands. It looked pretty fancy, and I suddenly found myself hoping he wasn't taking pictures of the people in the stands, of me in particular. I hated having my picture taken. Blame it on me being overly self-conscious.

"No, mine is still on the field." I inwardly sighed with relief when I saw him point the lens out at the field. "While I'm here really wishing he would have stuck with tennis." I bit my lip to stop the chuckle that wanted to make its way through my lips. "Are you the year book photographer?" I leaned back as Melissa leaned forward to speak to the mysterious boy. He turned to look at us, finally regarding me and smiling. I felt a strange shiver go down my spine from his gaze. Did I know him from somewhere? Eventually, he looked to Melissa and answered.

"No I just take pictures."

"Just lacrosse or other things?" she smiled at him, still staring at the camera. He smirked and this time, I found his strange and aloof nature unnerving.

"Anything that catches my eye." I saw him zoom into a picture and as I tried to inconspicuously see, he turned to me and I saw the camera point at me, I closed my eyes instantly. He looked at me, smiling, but otherwise surprised at what I did. I looked away.

"Sorry, I'm bad at pictures." I half smiled and he just smirked and walked away. I stood up suddenly. "I'll be back." I told Melissa.

"Ok. I'll fill you in when you get back." She said, eyes still fixed on the field as she anxiously bit between her thumb and forefinger.

"Um, hey?" I called to the guy. He turned around and smiled. "Sorry, but….. I didn't catch your name."

"That's because I never said it." He chuckled. I let out a dry laugh, rolling my eyes discreetly at his lame attempt at being mysterious. "It's Matt, by the way." I stared at him and something in me clicked. It looked like I was running into a lot of people that I had met through Camden Lahey.

"I thought you looked familiar." I smiled sadly, the memory of how this kid had been treated wasn't exactly positive. He looked at me confused. "Kira Kendricks." I stuck my hand out for him to shake. "Your little Matty." I smiled at me and his eyes widened for a second, glossing over. He suddenly looked around.

"I should go." He said abruptly. "There's something I have to do." He then ran off.

"H-hey, wait!" I called but just sighed. I went back to my spot just in time to see my phone buzz.

"Everything ok? Want me to follow him?" read the text from Michelle. She was looking over at me and I shook my head 'no.' Before I could text her anything, my phone binged again, this time from Seth.

"Remember your joke on the manila folder?" I typed in a quick 'yeah?' "Well you jinxed it." I groaned as I read that.

"Everything okay?" Melissa asked me and I bit my lip.

"Ummm..yeah." I typed in my reply "Keep the files safe. Head home and drop them off in my room then come to the school." I hit send and smiled at Melissa. "Just work."

"At this hour?" I nodded.

"Yeah…..I'm….working at an office…..might switch over…..I-" as I was BSing through my teeth, my phone buzzed again. "Sorry, give me a second.

"There's another werewolf going towards the field, there's a she-wolf next to him. What do I do?" After reading Michelle's text I looked towards Boyd and Erica. I had already spotted them before, but I saw Erica spot me and tug on Boyd as he pulled off his jacket.

"Don't, Kira's here too." Boyd looked my way and merely shrugged. This kid was an idiot. I looked to Gerard and got up, trying to sneak on off.

"I have to go Melissa." I told her.

"What? But the game hasn't ended." I frowned.

"I know, but it's one of my co-workers and it's urgent." She sighed, but nodded.

"Okay, drive safe!" I nodded. "Come by for dinner tomorrow, I'll let you know how it went!" she smiled at me and I returned it.

"I will!" I shouted as I turned and texted Stiles.

"Where are you?"

"In his office, there's nothing here!" I growled in frustration. I started heading into the school, texting Michelle.

"lay low until I'm back. Seth is on his way. LAY LOW" I figured I'd repeat myself since teenagers these days have a hard time listening. I groaned and pushed my way through the doors only to stop. Damn, talk about nostalgia. I walked towards where I last remembered the office to be, only to realize that renovations had been made. Since that was out of the question, I sniffed out Stile's scent only to realize the office was on the opposite side of where I turned when I first came in through the back door. I rolled my eyes, only Stiles would leave the door open to a door that was supposed to be locked.

"She-wolf has been gone for a while." Glared at my screen. Now that I thought about it, Stiles went through a ninja phase as a kid, there was no way he would have left the door open. I sniffed the air, the girl had been here.

"She's somewhere in the school. Don't worry. Stay put." I slammed the door closed and walked out , jumping over a puddle on the ground. Water? I just shook my head, there wasn't time to contemplate over the new janitor's horrible job at maintaining the school. Instead, I followed both scents, growing angry when I caught a third.

"You just couldn't wait until I called, could you Derek?" I growled to myself, stomping off down the halls. I realized something then, a strange hissing could be heard in the direction the scents were coming from. Pipes? I thought to myself. Heavy breathing and rapid footsteps suddenly accompanied the hissing. Okay, something was wrong. Hissing, snakes hiss. Snake! I darted off now towards the sounds.

"Call Scott! Stiles-" a splash cut off Derek's voice and then a second splash followed. A vicious hiss like howl resonated through the school and I slammed my body into the metal door.

"Guys?!" I shouted, looking around and spotting Erica on the ground. I frowned. "Erica?!" I ran to her. I may not have liked her, but she was just a kid.

"Kira! Kira, oh my god am I glad you're here!" I turned to see Stiles holding up Derek in the water.

"What the he-"

"Kira! Kira watch out!" Derek shouted and I ducked suddenly, feeling something coming down on me. I turned in time to see a reptilian tail swing me into the walls. I felt the breath leave my lungs violently. "Quick! Get up!" I growled and touched my tender ribs only to feel them quickly align themselves correctly. That thing came at me and I leaped over it slashing my claws over its back. It turned to stare at me, before hissing, I growled back. "Don't let that thing's claws get you it-"

"I know!" I growled out, I really didn't need the distraction. I kept trying to dodge it's attacks and I found that thing jumping at me, I jumped back only to hit the back of the wall. I rolled away when it came at me again, steadying myself with the wall my eyes widened when I felt some strange goo between my fingers. "Fuck." I cursed quietly.

"What?! What is it?!" I could hear Derek try to shout out.

"Kira?!" Stiles quipped in. I started to feel a strange tingle in my body and I jumped back.

"Call Scott." I called tot them.

"What?" Stiles asked.

"Call Scott!" I shouted, slashing at that thing to keep it away. Yellow teeth bared at me and I made to move away and call Scott when I felt something slash my back I bit my lip to stop from crying out, but felt my body fall forward. I didn't even feel the wounds anymore, nor did I feel myself face plant into the water. I did however, feel my eyes droop close as I feel deeper and deeper into the Olympic style pool.
