"Not sure, but they do look alike…," Hadley said as Platinum and his members slowly turning into phantoms.
"Let's keep ourselves distance from them," Gumball said as they moving away from Platinum's group.
"Why don't we just trap them inside here?" Jason suggested.
"We're not sure what might happen if we trap them inside the chamber," Gumball replied, disagreed to Jason. Platinum and his members are half way turning into a phantom.
"What are we going to do? Cedric asked.
"Attack it directly?" Alex replied as he only though about killing enemies.
"No, that will put us in danger since we don't know what they're capable of," Gumball rejected.
"What are we gonna do then?" Cedric asked.
"Hm…," Gumball muttered, thinking as Lexy came out with an idea.
"We find out what they capable of then think a way to engage," Lexy said.
"But…," Gumball mumbled as a loud screaming from Platinum.
"Let's just don't think too much…," Hadley said. Everyone remained calm while facing the situation.
"It looks like they've finished metamorphoses into phantoms," Selina said. Platinum and his fellow members looked gravely, wicked eyes emitted with purple light. They growled at the group and looking hostile at them.
"Be careful, they can teleport," Gumball said.
"Duh…it's not the first time we fought phantom," Cedric exclaimed.
"Wait…they gone," Cedric said when he blinked his eyes for a second. All of the phantoms disappeared at that moment.
"Stay tight…," Hadley said. The surrounding turn quiet in a sudden, no voice was made except their breathing sounds and the wind howled across the field. Platinum and his members turned into swiftly silent killers, blinking everywhere with the power of runes or marks.
"Gumball, what are those things?" Lexy asked her twin brother.
"It's hard to explain. Let's just say those things are monster," Gumball replied. One of the phantoms sneaked at Cedric. When he turned, he saw a pair of glowing purple eyes looking at him as he shocked. The phantom's going to slash him with its claws.
"Look out!" Selina shouted as she fired at the phantom. It disappeared just right before the projectiles was about to hit him.
"W-w-w-what just h-h-h-happen," Cedric stammered.
"A phantom trying to kill you and Selina scare it away," Stella said, smirked at him.
"Thanks…," Cedric thanked Selina.
"We split into 4, each has 3 persons," Gumball suggested.
"So, each group confronts one phantom?" Jason said.
"Exactly," Gumball said as everyone agreed.
They separated into 4 as Gumball with Lexy and Carrie, The twins with Jason, Hadley with Garnett and Alex, and lastly Cedric with Stella and Selina.
"Cedric seems like always stuck with Stella and Selina," Gumball joked in his thought, looking at them. Cedric been teased by Stella.
After separating, they each confront a phantom. Platinum and his members who had turned into phantoms stopped blinking as they extend their claws. Meanwhile in the dimension storage, the Sacred Sword was glowing as no one suspected.
"Jason and the twins confronting a phantom presume to be Gold. The twins charged directly, but Gold went over above them with his flexible, shape-shifting body, making them hard to land a hit on him.
"So…these are the evolved version of phantoms," Gumball mumbled, compared the phantoms from the past and present. The present are much faster, agile, and stronger than the past.
Jason's holding his dual-gun, firing plasma projectiles at Gold, but none of it hits Gold as the projectiles just slipped pass him.
"Darn…I can't hit him…," Jason thought, keeping one of the guns as he pulled out his twilight sword. Jason thought of activating his demon power, but stopped by Ella.
"Don't! Even though you activate it, you won't beat him," Ella said.
"Ella was right," Ella agreed to her sister.
"Then…what shall I do?" Jason asked as the twins confronting Gold.
"Just stay calm and fight it," Eliz replied as Jason has no choice but to listen to her.
"This boy's a lot harder to fight than I expected," Cedric thought, referring the phantom, Bronze as he spamming his arrows rapidly. Even the marksmanship Selina who doesn't simply miss a shot had missed.
Hadley's group seen to have their time fighting Iron since Hadley got a set of wide range fire abilities.
"Kay…I have enough," Cedric shouted as he pissed. He turned using shadow attacks against Bronze as he used 'raven strike', manipulating a bunch of ravens as it chases Bronze whenever he goes. The ravens chasing Iron around the sky, Iron turned as he fired a group of spikes, exploding every ravens and turned looking at Cedric's group furiously.
Iron charges an anti-matter blast with his right hand. After getting enough of the size, Iron swiped as the blast went directly at the group direction. Gumball noticed as he impacts it with a blast before it hits them and returned fighting Platinum with Lexy and Carrie.
"Lexy, I underestimated you," Gumball said, commenting on Lexy acrobatic skills as she dodged many attacks coming from Platinum.
"Sure thanks," Lexy glanced at Gumball with a smile.
Suddenly, Platinum and his members disappeared and gathered together, Gumball and the others regroup as well. The phantoms started merging together, forming a thing somehow looked like a cocoon.
"You got to be kidding me…," Cedric mumbled.
"What are they doing?" Garnet asked as they standing by watching it.
"Merging, I guess," Gumball replied.
"This will be bad…," Hadley said.
"Why? We have fought a few big sized creatures before…," Stella said.
"No…, what I mean is, they're legacy mark holders who turned into phantoms and consumed the mark's power with it. If they combine together…," Hadley explained.
"They would be invincible…," Gumball added.
"Literally, they can wipe us all out in one strike," Gumball said.
"Is there something we can do?" Alex asked, the phantoms have yet to 'hatch'.
"Hit them," Gumball replied, pulling out futuristic pistols, shooting at the phantoms. The others followed except Lexy and the twins.
Much to their effort, all the projectiles just dissolved when it hits the surface.
"Useless…," Cedric thought, looking at the phantoms about to emerge. Gumball sprinted leaving his friends as he went into power unleashed mode-legacy outrage. Gumball no longer has power unleashed mode as it replaces by his new legacy power.
"Rexar!" he shouted, summoning it without forging as he wields the great sword. He slashed at the merging phantoms, but it only dealt some scratches.
"Darn,,,it didn't even interrupt them," Gumball thought.
"Get back!" Scar shouted as the integration has finished and it's about to emerge.
"Huh?" the newly phantom emerged, causing a massive wave spreading around him towards a fixed radius. Gumball was too close as he shielded himself with a barrier. His friends shocked as if wondering he's alive or not. The barrier almost went down as the wave ended.
Gumball just standing underneath the newly merged phantom as he shocked, the phantom looked very similar to Terror but with no core at the chest.
"It can't be…," the others thought.
"Terror…," Hadley mumbled, watching at the phantom the height of a triple-story house.
With no hesitation, he attacked Gumball mercilessly. Swiping his claws at Gumball as he increase two flexible blade as all hitting Gumball. Gumball dodged every slashed as his friends joined him.
"Dancing sure is fun?" Stella joked as they arrived behind Gumball.
"No, it isn't," Gumball replied, slipped out of the phantom attacks. Selina blasted the phantom in full force at the face with her plasma cannon as it screams, everyone covered their ears. He manipulated several energy balls floating round him as it shot out a beam of anti-matter, slicing across the ground. An explosion comes up unexpectedly by the group after the beam finished, wounded everyone.
"Jason, there's something I have to tell you," Eliz finally going to tell him an ability.
"Just listen to us," Eliz said, Ella appeared beside her.
"You have an ability called hysteria and it's extremely dangerous to use," Ella said. Everyone was hardly stand on their feet after the explosion caused by the looked-alike Terror.
"Why?" Jason asked the sisters.
"Hysteria improves your potential but also taken away your consciousness, it's stronger than a legacy rune," Eliz replied.
"The disadvantage is…you probably would kill everyone," Ella added as Jason had no comment, either to risk or to be killed by the phantom.
Gumball stood up, taking his friends into safety with teleport as he's going to face the monstrous creature alone. Jason still lying unconsciousness, wounded badly with the others.
"Gumball you can't win…," Scar warned.
"Yup…you will die if you try," Rex agreed.
"If I don't, everyone will die," Gumball said, Jason still deciding in his thoughts. He teleported himself in front of the phantom as the others pulled themselves up.
"Is he nuts!?" Stella shouted, watching Gumball fighting alone.
"He's gonna get himself killed! Carrie shouted, worrying if she might loss Gumball again like the last time he got killed by the 'Virus'.
"Well for god sakes, I'm going to help Gumball," Selina said, running towards Gumball.
The others also follow as they left Lexy, Jason, and Carrie behind and went to help Gumball.
"What are you guys doing here?" Gumball asked as he noticed everyone arrived at his side while fending.
"To help you of course," Cedric replied.
"You will be killed!" Gumball shouted with anger.
"We are your friends and we won't leave you fighting alone," Stella said, regarding.
"Without you our life will be meaningless," Selina said as they started confronting the phantom with Gumball.
"You guys…," Gumball sighed at his friends.
Nine wielders confronting one hazardous monster that can destroy a country with ease, luckily they're in the training chamber, but unluckily they going to get themselves killed.
Everyone seems to falling as the phantom overpowered them. Gumball's standing with every power he had, fighting the phantom.
As they almost beaten by the phantom as Lexy and Carrie couldn't bear to watch. Jason awakens with the decision he made, he teleported himself between the phantom and his friends.
"Jason?" Gumball said, looking at him. Jason filled with deep sorrow as he looked at the phantom with devilish eyes.
"Hysteria…," Jason mumbled, used the ability as dark energy emitted out of him, turning him into a beast as two dark things manipulated out of his back. Eliz and Ella slipped out of Jason as Gumball started asking them.
"What happening to him?" Gumball asked the two sisters.
"We told him to make a decision…," Eliz replied.
"Either he take the risk of using 'hysteria or die you all of you…," Ella continued.
"Hysteria?" Cedric said.
"An ability that turn you into a beast and enhance your potential higher than legacy mark," Eliz disclosed the detail
"But, this ability took control over by his uncontrollable anger," Ella added.
"So…now he's in a confuse state?" Stella said.
"Probably," Eliz said.
"This might be the same as Gumball accepting Rex," Hadley said.
"Close," Rex said.
"He went berserk and trying to kill everyone," Selina talked about Gumball as he refreshed his memory.
"Let's prepare to face him if he tears that hideous phantom…," Christ said.
"Agreed with Christ," Trish supported her twin brother idea as the others also agreed to it.
Jason breathed heavily, filling with burning agony as he looked at the phantom. He turned into a demonic wolf-cat beast as his fur turn into the color of blood and black looked like corruption.
The phantom directly blast Jason, but got deflected by him only using his paw, swiping to the side when the blast comes. Everyone was shocked at Jason.
"The heck he just…," Alex said.
"Deflect an anti-matter blast that have the same amount of force as a nuclear…," Gumball continued, shocked utterly.
"The anti-matter blast deflected to the side as it hits the ground and exploded, creating a large hole.
Jason grinned as he punched his right hand into the ground, emerging a demon hand under the phantom as it grabs him, pulling him, slamming to the ground and then thrown into the air. Jason fires a beam of dark energy from the two things behind him as it shape-shifted into a hand.
The phantom fled away after being hit by Jason. The two things before Jason shape-shifted again, but to a pair of wings as he used it to chase the phantom regardless how powerful it is.
As Jason got closer to the phantom, he stabbed his sword into its body. The phantom trying to attack Jason, but doesn't have the strength to do so as Jason hysteria demonic form cause his sword to have a special effect.
The longer the sword stayed at any part of any life form body. It will corrupt them until they turn into ashes.
"What's happening to the phantom?" Gumball asked, Jason still floating in the sky keeping distance from the phantom.
"Blade of corruption," Ella refereed to Jason's sword.
"Huh?" everyone muttered except Hadley and the sisters.
"Hysteria caused everything he used into corrupt. If he used his sword to slash anything, it will start to corrupt. It works like poison or virus, destroying every cell inside a life form. Once it destroyed everything, the living thing will fade away in ashes, result a painful struggle," Eliz explained as the phantom slowly faded away.
"Everything's finished…," everyone thought, watching the phantom faded away as Jason still didn't revert back to normal.
"Jason! It's over," Gumball shouted, but no respond instead Jason turned looking at them with his demonic eyes.
"He's gonna turn against us isn't he?" Garnett asked the worst.
"Yeah…," they replied as Lexy and Carrie went to their side.
Jason came down, cracking the ground with his fist. Everyone prepared for the worst as the demonic wolf-cat howled at his friends in hostile.
