A/N: This is the final chapter, everyone! Thanks for sticking with me through this story! I will most likely be tackling Attraction, Beyond Friendship or Aftermath next.
I DO NOT OWN THE VAMPIRE DIARIES OR THE CHARACTERS.
Chapter Twenty-Two:
We agreed that we could get more of my things from Jenna's house later. Right now, our biggest priority is being together. I smiled, when I walked into the boarding house. It feels like so long ago, that the three of us were here together. It's nice. It's a welcomed change.
"I'm glad you decided to move in and I'm sure as hell glad that you're back." Damon mused. "You look good here." Damon told me, as he cupped my cheek.
"Unlike my brother, I think that you look good everywhere." Stefan smirked. I chuckled.
"How much damage was really done?" Damon asked me. I bit my lip. I was hoping we'd have some down time before the questions started.
"I was attacked by the werewolf that Klaus had for the ceremony. I have some scars from the claws. I started to bleed out while I was doing the spell… When I finished the spell, I collapsed and landed face first on top of some rocks. Klaus pulled the wolf off of me, before he could do any further damage. After I fell, Elijah gave me his blood and got me to a hospital. Elijah saved my life. I don't think I would have survived, if he hadn't done what he did. The strain from the magic was magnified, because of my injuries. The coma I was in was magic-related, not solely medically." I tried to explain. I chanced a glance at the brothers. They both look pissed. "I'm fine, now. I'm just having issues controlling my magic. With practice, I can get that back."
"He just let you get attacked?" Damon seethed.
"Damon," I told him, holding up my hand. "Let it go. Okay? It's over and finished. Klaus gave me his word that I was free, that we are free, and we don't have to worry about him, anymore. This is a good thing. I've healed fine. All of the tests that they did at the hospital say that I'm fine."
"She's right, Damon. We can't change what happened. Let's just take this is as one less thing to worry about." Stefan tried to reason with Damon.
"You seriously just want to do nothing about this?" Damon fumed. Stefan shook his head.
"I didn't say that, brother."
"Then what are you saying?"
"She said that she was scarred. I suggest that we try to kiss her better."
"I like the sound of that."
I stretched and relished in the fact that I barely dreamt last night. I still had a few nightmares about the spell, but they were few and far between. It's nice to be back. It's nice to be home. They feel like home.
"Morning sunshine," Damon mused. I made a face at him.
"That will never be an accurate description of me." I argued.
"So touchy in the mornings – isn't she?" Stefan asked. Damon nodded.
"She is. Maybe we didn't wear her out enough last night." Damon suggested.
"You do know that I'm right here. Don't you?" I asked them. They both just smirked. "I'm going to be outvoted a lot in this relationship… Aren't I?"
"I would say that's a pretty safe bet." Stefan nodded, before capturing my lips in a kiss. I smiled against his mouth and kissed him back.
"I don't see anything wrong with those odds." Damon admitted. I laughed.
"You wouldn't. Would you?" I teased him. I laid back and stared up at them.
"What are you thinking about?" Stefan asked me. I shrugged.
"Just about how nice this is and how right it feels. I've never felt like this before. Before the trip with you two… I think I had forgotten what it felt like to love, to really love and feel loved." I admitted.
"We do love you… a ridiculous amount." Damon told me, before kissing me. I smiled. "And your ass. I love your ass." I giggled.
"You're not the only one." Stefan agreed. I laughed and made a face.
"Shut up." I whined, half-heartedly. Stefan started kissing on my neck.
"We're in this for the long haul. You better get used to it." Stefan breathed. I shivered.
"And if I don't?" I asked them. Damon smirked, before claiming my other side.
"Then prepare to be annoyed for a lifetime, because you're not getting rid of us." Damon said softly. "Besides, we all know that you can't resist us. Can you?" Damon was trying to keep me distracted. I knew him well enough by now, to know that was what he was doing. I told them what happened to me, while I was away, but they never said what they did.
"What did you two do when I was gone?" I asked them, quietly. They paused their ministrations and pulled away. I saw Stefan trying not to smirk.
"I told you she would want to know." Stefan told his brother. Damon glared at him, half-heartedly.
"What we did isn't important." Damon mused, trying to be nonchalant about my question.
"Damon…" I pressed.
"We didn't do anything that stupid. After we didn't hear from you for a couple of days, we got worried. Rose tried to do a locator spell, but it was like you were cloaked, because her coven kept coming up with nothing. Stefan and I started tracking down Klaus' lapdogs and tried to force information out of them. No one was giving us anything to go on. It was almost like Klaus expected us to try to find you and made sure that no one would say a word. Even Oliver helped… after a while." Damon explained.
"He got tired of Damon threatening to kill everything… So he helped." Stefan corrected him.
"Details, brother," Damon shrugged. "He reached out to his contacts and they couldn't come up with anything, either. We kept going like that, until we heard from you. I kept 'Ric in the loop, but you couldn't have been dead Bonnie…"
"We refused to believe that." Stefan finished for him.
"You couldn't be dead, when we just found you." Damon added. I smiled at them, sadly. There's been too much death going on. I understand why they did it, but I don't like that people had to die.
An overwhelming feeling filled my chest and I knew that they were right. We did just find each other. I wasn't ready to be away from them, either. I love them.
"I wouldn't leave you. You're my home."
I sat on top of the counter-top drinking coffee, when we heard the front door open. I froze. The guys ran over to the door to see who it was. We weren't expecting anyone. I didn't have to wait long to see who it was. Oliver walked into the kitchen, smirking.
"It's good to see you, Ben. How are you feeling?" He asked me. I nodded to him, since I had a mouthful of coffee.
"I'm alright." I told him, after I swallowed. "Why are you here Oliver?" I asked him, not particularly in the mood to beat around the bush.
"I'm here to collect on that favor you owe me." He smirked. I sighed.
"Of course you are."
A/N: Hopefully you all enjoyed this. I wanted to end things on a relatively light note. Reviews would be amazing!
