!Hola, mi amigos! How are you all? I hope you enjoyed my Weasley Christmas! Anyway, let me now how putting the link for Ginny's necklace on my profile worked! I would love to hear what you guys are thinking of this story!
If I were a New-York Times best-selling author, why would I spend my time doing this?
Harry POV
The morning after Christmas was rather sluggish. Everyone was tired, and it was a slow, but happy day, for all of us. Except Percy (J), and Annabeth. They're leaving today to spend the rest of their winter holiday back in America with their friends and family. I wonder what held them back from retiring to America for the holiday. I know that Professor McGonagle said that the couple's friends have a surprise for them, but that was all. Percy and Annabeth departed mid-afternoon, seeing as London, or Ottery St. Catchpole, is five hours ahead of New York.
The days passed quickly, and soon, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and I were packing our trunks to go back to school. While the house-elves are masterful cooks, nothing can beat Molly Weasley's cooking after a snow-war with the Weasley twins. (Remember! Fred lived! I couldn't let the other Weasley twin die! I'm a twin myself! But my brother is waaaaayyyyyy more annoying)
The train ride back to school was pretty quiet - not so much as a glare from Malfoy. But Ron complained about the corned beef sandwich from his mum. I think that Mrs. Weasley does it on purpose, now. THe only real excitement was that as we came back up to the castle, I realized that nearly every upper-year student could see the Thestrals. One of the things about dinner that night, besides the plentiful treacle tart, was that Percy and Annabeth are back!
Ginny smiled at me, as I told her, "There's something about them that's different."
Hermione looked over that us from above the tome that she had her head buried in all through dinner. "Isn't it obvious? They got married back in New York!"
My jaw fell to the floor as Ginny giggled at me. "What?! How can you tell?"
"Yeah, how'd you know that, 'Mione?" Ron asked.
"It obvious! The rings that where on their necklaces are now in each others' let hand. I though everyone noticed…."
"Blimey, Hermione! it's not obvious to normal people!" Be careful Ron…. Dangerous grounds with your girlfriend….
" I am perfectly normal, thank you, Ronald." She sniffed, and Ron started blubbering. Hermione giggled (is that really Hermione? Giggling?). "I was just teasing, Ron!"
"Oh…."
"But, why don't we try to catch them after dinner?"
Once dinner was over, we (Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and I) ran up to Percy and Annabeth, who were making their was to Gryffindor Tower. "Percy! Annabeth!" I called. "Wait up a second!"
They turn. "Yeah?" Percy asked. He and Annabeth hadn't let go of each other all night. Now, he wrapped his arm about her shoulders.
"We were wondering," I began.
"If you two got married over break." Hermione finished.
They laughed. "Of course you four would be the first to figure it out!" Annabeth said, leaning further into her new husband. "We did. It was the surprise they had for us. They said earlier that everything wouldn't be ready until summer, but they managed to get it done." Percy leaned down and kissed her on her forehead.
"And boy are we glad! I've been waiting for that day since I was….. Wise Girl, how old was I when I met you?"
Annabeth slapped her husband lightly. "We where twelve! And you have not liked me since then! You already confessed! It was after the Sea of Monsters!"
"No, it was after we got the lightning bolt back for my dear uncle, your grandfather!"
"No, it wasn't!"
Percy kissed Annabeth on the nose. "You're right, of course, Sea of Monsters."
"Of course I'm right! I am the only child of Athena in the whole school!"
After the couple finished their Ron-and-Hermione-like bickering, Ginny squealed. "Annabeth, you'll have to show Hermione and I the pictures!"
Annabeth grinned. "Alright, alright! Why don;t you two come up after classes tomorrow? Ron, Harry, if you want, I think Perce has a video of our friend Jason and him sparring?"
Ron grinned. "You mean sword-fighting? That sounds cool! Of course we'll come!"
"Alright, well, get some rest. You've got classes tomorrow, and tomorrow's going to be stressful enough. Minerva is announcing us at bre- PERSEUS JACKSON! You put me down right this instant!" If you couldn't guess, Percy swept his bride into his arms, and bounded up the final stairs to Gryffindor Tower, shouted the password at the Fat Lady, and carried her up the stairs to their room, to, hopefully, unpack.
It was a rowdy night in the Common Room. Dean and Seamus were shouting about football, Lavender and a couple of other girls were staring at me uncomfortably, until Ginny stepped up behind me, and jumped on my back, squealing in laughter.
"What! Gin! If that's how you want to play…." I ran around the Common Room, First and Second Years looking at us in wonder, Third and Fifth Years smirking and winking, Fourth ignoring, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth smiling and laughing.
Once Ginny clambered down from my back, and seated herself on one of the squishy couches, pulling me down besides her, curling up against my side, head on my shoulder. WHy is it that witches seem to like to have their heads on their blokes shoulder? It kills your arm when they decide they've had enough. I look down at my girlfriend. "Is this what I've been reduced to? A pillow?"
Ginny hmmmmed, looking up at me with her doe-like chocolate-brown eyes. "Yup. The almighty Boy-Who-Lived, Chosen One, and Savior of the wizarding world is now only fit to be his girlfriends' pillow." Ron and Hermione laughed at our banter from their spot on the chair across from us.
"Ron! You're not the one being reduced to a pillow, over here!"
"I'm kinda my girls seat, right now, Harry. Or do we need to get you new glasses?" Ron was actually right. Hermione was perched on Ron's lap.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, details, details, details." I notice Hermione lean into Ron, her head on the same spot on Ron's shoulder that Ginny was on mine. "Hey, Ron. Why is it that witches seem to like this spot so much?"
Ginny and Hermione looked at me, before Ginny answered. "Because it's comfortable, and it makes us feel safe and loved, being in our blokes arms. Not that we need the protection, do you hear me, Harry James Potter? No more breaking up with me to "protect me"." I nod, and surrender. "Why'd you wan to know why we choose our seats like this?"
"Well, it's just not the most comfortable place for a bloke, Gin. It's fine now, but my shoulder's going to kill when you stand up."
"Who says I'm going to stand up?"
"Nature. Eventually, you're going to have to eat, drink, or use the bathroom."
"You've got me there, Potter. But is it really that uncomfortable for you guys?"
I grimace. "Unfortunately, yes,it is. But after hearing why you like it so much, go right ahead. I want you to feel as loved as I can."
Ginny smiled, and shifted so she was sitting upright. I meant to say And there goes my shoulder, but before I could, Ginny wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me soundly. This time, it was not Ron who told us to break it up, but me, when Ginny decided that yawning while kissing me was a good idea.
"Go up to bed, sleepy pants. We've got classes tomorrow."
"Don't call me that!" Que her yawn. "I'm heading up, night guys." She pecked my lips one more time, waved to Ron and Hermione, before climbing the stairs to her dorm.
That night, I stared up at the cloth of my four-poster bed, thinking. Thinking about Ginny. And this was the night that I decided that I want a love like Percy and Annabeth's. This was the night that I decided, well I suppose that I had already decided, but rather I was admitting it to myself.
I decided that one day, I would make Ginny Weasley, Ginny Potter.
