I own nothing from Naruto.
Please read and review
The skies were turning a deep red as the sun started to set on the ocean. Team Kakashi were still a couple hours from reaching land and Kakashi was now wandering the deck, bored now that he had finished the latest Icha Icha Novel. He had checked the single room they had been given with two bunks to check on his team and Sakura had been reading up on Medical Ninjutsu while Naruto had been sleeping on the other bunk. Hazel Marie hadn't been seen by any of them since she had put her bag on the bed by Sakura's then had left the room.
Kakashi felt that for some reason she was avoiding him. He had been everywhere on the boat with no sign of her. If not for the fact that his Ninken got extremely seasick, he would have summoned them. He walked to the bow while running a hand through his hair, before seeing Hazel Marie sitting on the railing wearing black cargo pants and a white t-shirt, her hair loose around her shoulders. Her right leg was on a bar higher than the other and she had her head propped up with her elbow on the right leg. She had a book open in her free hand but her attention was focused on the setting sun, a slight frown evident as if she was in deep thought. He walked over and leaned against the railing beside her and saw her turn her head slightly in his direction.
"Hey," she spoke quietly as she closed he book that looked worn and it disappeared into the seal on her left forearm. He noticed then that there were new markings along each of her wrists, five circles on each wrist. Eight were blue inside a black outline while three on her right wrist didn't have the blue.
"Those weren't there this morning," he commented as he reached over and let his fingers run over the circles on her left wrist. Her skin felt softer as his fingers touched each circle, it wasn't a huge difference since her skin was already soft but he could tell the difference.
"Been reading up on seals and being able to have jutsus ready without wasting time and energy in a fight," she mused as she lifted her right arm a few inches off her leg and one if the blue filled circles glowed for a second before a rasengan appeared in her hand and the blue disappeared from the circle. It disappeared a second later and the blue came back to the circle. "I don't know, I thought it would be easier though it started to hurt when I tried to add another circle seal. Seems like that was the limit my body would be able to handle since these rasengan hold a bit of chakra to them. "
"I am slightly surprised you'd put the seals directly onto your own body. That's why most usually sealed in scrolls, they don't have a limit to their sealing of character. Your body can only hold so much extra power," Kakashi commented, her determination making him smile.
"True, but strong jutsus would only destroy a scroll. Konoha hasn't had success with that yet. I haven't figured out how to stabilize the bullets yet, destroyed one of my smaller guns trying. That hurt like a bitch, even through my wind barrier," she chuckled, "so I created these seals so I can have something up my sleeve, per say, if something happens."
"When was this?"
"After I dropped off my bag. I was getting antsy and needed something to occupy my mind."
"And here I thought you were avoiding me for some reason," Kakashi spoke and saw her frown slightly in the corner of his eye. "Haze…?"
"I'm fine," She muttered quietly.
"No you're not," Kakashi frowned as he turned to face her.
"Maybe, maybe not," she shrugged indifferently.
"Haze, don't do this to yourself. You can talk to me." He brought an arm and rested it on her legs and pulled her so that she was turned towards him a little.
"I can't even explain even if I wanted to. I don't understand it myself so how could I make you understand. My thoughts are everywhere and no matter what I do, I cannot seem to be able to focus on what could be wrong. I don't even know if there is anything wrong. Besides we will hit land soon and be splitting up for the mission. Shouldn't you be debriefing Naruto and Sakura? I have a feeling they haven't had a mission quite like this one."
"They'll have their radios disguised with their transformations as well as Pakkun. What district will you be taking, you haven't said once where you'll be searching for information?"
"That's because if I see any of you there I'll beat you. They have the market place, you have residential, and there isn't too many other districts to search through. It's not an area for men to investigate and Sakura…? She wouldn't be able to handle it," Hazel Marie spoke as she rested her arm on top of his as she watched the sunset.
"If for some reason you're in trouble how will any of us recognize you?"
"I already have my radio disguised." She brought her hands up and pulled all her hair over her shoulder away from him, revealing her ears where metal ivy vine earrings wrapped around the edges of her ears. "Depending on how my research goes, I may be using multiple transformations."
"Haze, be safe. We're all going into dangerous territory, don't expect me to not check on you."
"We should grab the others, I see land. That'll give us maybe an hour before we hit port," Hazel Marie spoke as she leaned back before going into a backflip to get onto her feet. She turned to him and touched his cheek gently. "Don't make me have to worry about you as well as them."
"Just watch your back, Haze," he whispered as he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tight. "I'd send one of the boys with you if you'd let me."
"You'd send one of them either way if you weren't worried about people hurting them for looking like strays," Hazel Marie chuckled as she pulled back a little to look up at him. "I know you well enough. Let's get going."
She pulled away from him and he sighed quietly at the loss of her warmth. He felt a warmth around his hand and looked down and saw her hand in his as she started to pull him with her. A small part of him felt like this was wrong and that he should let go of her hand but he couldn't put any reason for why he should when most of him felt like her hand felt perfect inside of his. He adjusted his fingers around hers and she glanced back at him with a small smile. She kept ahold of his hand the whole way to the room and only let go when she was opening the door. She walked inside, leaving Kakashi in the hall.
"Haze, where have you been? Kakashi was looking for you," Sakura spoke. "You doing okay? "
"I'm good, was just doing some self-training to prepare for the mission," she smiled as Kakashi entered the room. He watched as she grabbed her bag and started to rummage through it before pulling a white bag from one of the pockets. "I know that Kakashi has stressed how dangerous this mission could be if any of our covers are blown, but I will stress it again. We are going to the heart of another nation that is not allied with Konohagakure. I bought these when I was out around the town this morning. They are a way for me to track you so that if there is any problem and you can't give yourselves away by using your radio or dropping your transformation jutsus. Kakashi, would you add some of your chakra to these so that you can easily find them if you are unable to track down Pakkun?"
Kakashi focused on what she was pulling out of the bags to reveal a simple silver necklace with a circular shaped aquamarine set in it and a leather bracelet with a chain running over the black leather. He focused his chakra over them and felt her chakra running through the metal of both. Spreading his hand over hers, touching both pieces of jewelry and covering Hazel Marie's hand, he focused on blending his chakra into each just enough to not overpower her chakra. After he finished, she gave Sakura the necklace and helped her put it on before putting the leather band on Naruto's arm.
"No matter your transformations, these will be visible so that will be a visual que for us, but we will be the only ones to detect the chakra. If you cannot verbalize through the radio that you're in trouble, say 'a storm is coming,' and we'll know to come find you."
"Thank you Haze," Sakura spoke as she touched the gem, surprise evident on her face. "Why an aquamarine?"
"I'll have to tell you another time, we don't have much time."
"We have less than an hour before we hit port so get packed up and get your transformations up. Don't break character once you leave this room. You two are siblings traveling through Kirigakure to go visit your grandparents in Kytsu, on the eastern shore, but were running low on supplies so you're stocking up," Kakashi spoke, becoming serious as he summoned Pakkun. "Head up as soon as you're ready. From this point forward, we cannot be seen together as if we are familiar, though we will be checking in. It takes two days to walk to the city and once we all hit the city, you have three days before I pull everyone out."
"I do not approve of being stripped of my clothing," Pakkun huffed as Kakashi crouched down to remove his vest. "You owe me big time boss."
"Don't worry, somebody has to watch out for the knucklehead," Hazel Marie grinned as she crouched down and put a collar on him and handed him a thick piece of jerky. "Once we all make it home, I'll go hunting for you and the boys."
"Very well Mistress," Pakkun huffed as Naruto and Sakura transformed. Naruto turned into a pale-skinned boy with stormy gray eyes and black hair that went into his eyes. He wore black hamakas and haori with a white inner haori, with a long black haori as a layer of warmth to go over it while Sakura's form was a few inches shorter than his with chin-length black hair and bangs that went into her stormy blue-grey eyes. Her clothing was a navy blue kimono with a single inner layer that was white while a long black haori similar to Naruto's was over her outfit. They definitely looked like siblings, if not twins. "Perfect. Now get out of here."
"We don't get to see your guys' forms?" Naruto pouted slightly.
"Now that would be too easy. Besides you are supposed to not be able to recognize us. Don't worry Kirito, we'll let you know it's us when we check in. Keep him in check Suguha. If anyone asks, your surname is Kirigaya," Hazel Marie smiled as she opened the door while they pulled their backpacks on. "Good luck you too."
"You as well," Sakura spoke before pushing Naruto out before him.
"Take care of them Pakkun," Hazel Marie spoke quietly to the pug as he started to follow.
"You know that I will Mistress," the pug responded before disappearing after the other two.
Hazel Marie closed the door quietly before sighing and Kakashi frowned. He touched her shoulder and she barely turned her head to glance at his hand on her shoulder, but didn't look at him as she continued to face the door. She signed her transformation and in her place stood a shorter form that had shoulder length purple hair with silver streaks. She wore black leggings under a single layer white kimono that only went to mid-thigh and a large black obi that was tied off in a bow at her back. She had slip on flats and when she turned around to grab her back, he noticed violet eyes.
"Haze, what's wrong?" Kakashi frowned as he turned her to face him.
"It doesn't feel right Kashi," she whispered, her voice sad. "They don't have enough experience for a mission like this."
"They'll be fine. If you're this worried now, how will you be able to focus?" he asked as he cupped her face in his hands.
"I'll manage somehow," she smiled sadly before bringing her hands up and he felt her pull something over his head. He looked down and saw a silver chain around his neck that hung below his collar bone, but her hands hid what hung from the chain. He felt her chakra against his chest as she infused her chakra into the necklace. "Call me Zadie in this form."
"Haze…" she looked up at him with a weak smile before backing away and tucked a lock of hair behind her ears, revealing the ivy vines that was her radio in disguise.
"Remember Kakashi, you are not Superman," she whispered before leaving the room quickly, making sure to close the door behind her, leaving a confused Kakashi behind.
He looked down at the necklace and studied what hung from it and smiled even though he wondered why she chose that color. It was a silver crescent moon with a crescent sapphire set into it. He activated his own transformation as he heard the boat horn sound, signaling that they would reach port in the next 30 minutes. His silver hair turned blond and his hitai-ate and mask disappeared and his mismatched eyes turned blue. He wore black cargo pants, tucked into black boots that went to mid-calf and a red shirt that was visible under his unzipped black jacket. Grabbing his bag and tucking the necklace under his shirt he headed out to make his way up to the deck.
I don't own the idea of Naruto's and Sakura's transformations. That belongs to the owner of Sword Art Online.
