Once everyone had eaten, it was nearly 10pm. Luella had been stifling yawns for the last ten minutes. "Oh, you must be tired" Mai noticed. "I forgot that not only are you getting used to the time difference, but you must also be rather jet legged"

"We slept the entire flight somehow, even though it was bad timing, but I could use a goodnights sleep" Luella admitted tiredly.

"Let me show you to your room" Mai smiled, quickly taking the plates to the sink. They would be cleaned before she woke. "I know it can get a little confusing as to which door is which, especially when you are tired"

"Might be calling it a night too" Madoka stretched, to which everyone silently agreed. It had been a little emotional today, time to start fresh tomorrow.

Mai walked back down stairs, needing a cup of tea to calm her nerves. "What are the chances?" Mai muttered to herself.

"I didn't think this would happen either" Naru agreed as he finished washing up the last of the plates. Madoka, Lin as well as Martin and Luella had all retired to their rooms. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience"

"It's not your fault" Mai smiled, putting on the kettle. "Besides, it has never been so lively"

Naru dried his hands, and wrapped his arms around Mai's waist. He rested his chin on Mai's shoulders, his form relaxing more then Mai had ever seen him. Mai smiled softly as she finished making the tea. Naru smelled nice.

Mai finished the tea, but instead of placing them on the table, she decided to let them cool where they were. She turned in Naru's hold, wrapping her arms around his neck. His lips found hers, and Mai felt dizzy with the addicting feeling of his lips on hers. They were competitive even when kissing, trying to one up each other. Mai fought for dominance, although all their practice came from each other. Everything was new. Mai's only other experience was though reading, although she would never admit it.

When Mai's legs nearly gave way under her, she knew that Naru was winning. Blushing, Mai tried something that all the heroin's did in the books she read. She bit his bottom lip. Naru moaned, which shocked himself as well as her. Mai pulled away, resting her head against his chest. The lust subsided too slowly for them to be ok with. Mai quickly grabbed her tea, sitting on the table. She was blushing.

Naru took his own tea, hiding the slight pink in his cheeks.

Then a flash of lighting, followed shortly after by a loud crack of thunder. Mai froze, dropping her teacup.

Naru reached out, and caught the empty cup before it smashed against the marble floor.

"Thank you" Mai whispered, as Naru placed the cup in the sink. So, Mai was scared of lighting.

Another flash, followed almost immediately by the crackle of thunder. Mai whimpered, and Naru took her hand and led her gently up stairs. Least he could do was tuck her into her cover.

Mai was still in her PJ's, and so climbed right under her cover. Naru watched her from the door. Lighting struck a third and fourth time, and Mai had tears in the corner of her eyes.

"Don't go" Mai whispered. Naru sighed to hide his embarrassment. What exactly was she suggesting? "Could you- um... Could you sleep here?"

Naru didn't say anything, because he was sure his voice would betray him. He climbed under the covers, and Mai turned so he wouldn't see her face in flames. At first, Naru had done the same. Mai had only asked him to stay because she was scared after all.

Light gently flooded the room from a small slit in Mai's blackout curtains. It was like the sun had refused to be beaten, and would be blinding even though a tiny slit of exposure. This slit of light hit Naru in the face, and eventually forced him awake.

He was not the type of person to sleep long hours and for feeling content to stay abed. As per his job, and many hours of study, he slept the minimum his body required and then started the day almost angry with himself at the time wasted. His body however, did not consider this sleep as a waste of time.

Mai shifted slightly, and took in a breath. Naru felt his arm move, and she back against his chest. She had cuddled up to him, and he had held her.

His arm was around her waist, their legs wrapped around each others, his other hand was around her neck and holding hers.

He held her tighter, indulging in the sweet smell of her hair and the feel of her bare skin on his.

When had he taken off his night shirt?

When had she taken off her night trousers?!

Well he never really slept in PJs but only wore them around the house, so maybe he had taken them off in the night?

That's right, he was half asleep when he went into Mai's bathroom to bush his teeth. He came back from his room, and Mai was not in the bed. She walked out of her bathroom a second later, wearing shorts. She must have brushed her teeth too, he could smell mint.

Those shorts she was currently wearing.

And he had taken off his shirt.

They had kissed goodnight, and Mai looked cold so...

Satisfied his thoughts had been organised, he checked the time. It was 9am, which was staggering. That was the latest he had woken since he had moved to Japan and had been trying to fix his body clock.

Mai moaned in her sleep when Naru sat up slightly. Her arms tightened around his shoulders. A soft smile on his lips, Naru kissed Mai's forehead.

"Naru..." Mai moaned, opening her eyes. She smiled, her checks burning.

"Morning" Naru greeted, giving Mai a quick kiss.

"Morning" Mai greeted in English.

"We should go downstairs before anyone figures I'm in here, and thinks the worst" Naru sighed, just as a knock sounded.

Mai and Naru turned to the door, and it appeared the knock was just a formality, not a request for permission. This is when Madoka popped her head in the door, and immediately beamed.

"Awe puppy love" Madoka chuckled, before her eyes narrowed and she smirked. "How was losing your virginity?"

Naru nearly choked.

"Ahh, that is not what happened" Mai clarified quickly.

"Oh" Madoka looked a little upset by the news. "Morning V-card holders" she called as she left, looking rather dejected.

"I hold my card with pride" Mai called, blushing terribly.

"Guess there is no point in trying to hide the fact that I slept here now, so we could stay" Naru kissed her again. "Maybe I could take that card of yours"

Mai laughed, kissing him back, too tired to be too embarrassed. "Would I get yours in return?"

"Yes you would" Naru admitted sheepishly. Mai giggled, kissed him once and started to cuddle up, when she heard Luella calling for Martin on the other side of the door. She didn't know what they were talking about, the soundproofing was pretty good, but that was her voice. Mai bit her lip, getting up and heading to her bathroom where her bath was waiting.

"I am going to have my bath, we should get dressed" Mai sighed, smiling teasingly as Naru raised a brow, as if to ask if she was inviting him to join her. Mai turned, shutting the door after her. He guessed not.

Forgetting he was no longer wearing a top, and that he had taken it off in his room, he opened Mai's bedroom door, to be greeted by his father. Martin coughed awkwardly. "Morning" he muttered.

Naru nodded a greeting, before making his way swiftly to his room. His mother was about too, and she would surely say something. Something along the lines of, 'I'm getting grandkids' or whatever. Assuming that she does fully approve of Mai. Now that he thought about it, it would be good to find out what they all thought of each other. Maybe he would arrange something, without them knowing his intentions of cause. Mai was always more open when she doesn't know she was being monitored.

After showering, getting dressed and fetching Mai, they both went downstairs. Mai had dressed in her black jeans and black turtleneck. She seemed surer in them, more confident. It was a lot like a suit of armour for her, less venerable.

Everyone was sitting and eating. Mai went to join them, when the power went out.
