Authors Note (A/N): Hey everyone I know its been a little over 1 month since I last updated the story and I just wanted to apologize and say that I've been quite busy lately with school and other things. But after spending that month long Hiatus thinking about things I'm back now with fresh content and I'm happy to say that this chapter is going to jump start the story and advance the plot. I really had a blast writing the second half of this chapter and when I first got going I couldn't stop and I found myself writing till 2 o' clock last night where I wrapped up the chapter and I spent the last 2 hours today editing it and adding the extra notes at the bottom.
I hope everyone enjoys this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. Since it's spring break I'll try to update another chapter or two before the week is out. So my fan's enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 25
Girls Day Out and Wharf Warfare
Training Ground
Honey brown eyes met pale lavender.
Hinata hesitantly stepped forward with determination smoldering behind her eyes. "Hello it's finally nice to meet you Henrietta." Hinata said. "Hello Hinata, Naruto's told me so much about you. I've wanted to meet you for such a long time now. I was hoping that we could be friends." Henrietta said shyly while fidgeting in front of Hinata. 'Naruto was right. She is a lot like me.' Hinata thought. Taking a bold step forward Hinata reached out her hand and took Henrietta's own who was nervously awaiting Hinata's answer. Bringing their hands up in front of them Hinata shook them a little with a smile on her face. "I would love to be your friend Henrietta." Hinata said happily with a reassuring tone of voice. Looking up to look Hinata straight in the eyes a small smile slowly appeared on Henrietta's face that continued to grow and grow. "Thank you Hinata."
Off to the side Naruto and Eva both had smiles on their faces. 'That a girl Hinata. Now my work is done.' Naruto thought. 'Aww they look so cute.' Eva thought. Turning to face Naruto both girls were sporting smiles on their faces that made the ones on Naruto's and Eva's to grow. "I think we are going to get along fine Naruto." Hinata said. "That's great Hinata. I got to step away for a few minutes so why don't you two use that time to get to know each other." Naruto said. "Where are you going?" Hinata asked with confusion clear in her voice. "I'm going to get us some actual food to eat unlike the snacks I brought. Ramen perhaps?" Naruto explained however he sounded slightly pleading at the end as his love of ramen started to show. Giggling Hinata couldn't find it in her to refuse her friend when he got like this. "I don't see why not." She replied. "Yes! I'll be back real soon." Naruto said as he ran out of the clearing in the direction that Henrietta came from although the girls didn't realize it.
With Naruto
Jumping up on to a nearby branch of a tree that was close by to the area that Henrietta emerged from Naruto looked up and standing on the branch above him was Shoko and Jose. "Hey guys what's up?" Naruto asked. "Nothing much just came to wish Henrietta luck but it seems that it wasn't needed. That Hinata girl took everything into her own hands." Jose said with a thankful smile on his face. "Yeah Hinata's amazing like that. To tell you the truth I was quite surprised. Even though since meeting me she has come out of her shell a little bit when it comes to her shyness it doesn't mean I've gotten rid of it. It's still very much their and is naturally apart of her so I was surprised when she made the first move. I actually though that the both of them would be stuttering all over the place trying to start up a conversation." Naruto said with a chuckle. "I would actually have preferred to see that." Eva said in amusement.
"Yeah that would be pretty funny to see." Shoko added while leaning against the tree. "So what are you guys going to do now?" Naruto asked. "Well Mr. Dino gave us an assignment so we're going to head off now. It won't take us long so we should be done by tonight." Shoko said. "Alright then be safe I'll see you later on tonight." Naruto said as he jumped off the tree and began to head back to the village to get the ramen. Shoko and Jose opted to stay behind for a few more minutes and watch over the girls who were in the clearing. They only left when they sensed Naruto returning.
With Hinata and Henrietta
Sitting down in the grass in front of the large slid made of ice both girls began to talk to each other. "So let's play a game called 20 questions." Hinata suggested. "What's that?" Henrietta asked. "It's a game were two people get to know each other in 20 questions. Each person will ask a question and then the other will answer it. Then that person asks their own question. Naruto and I played that game soon after we met." Hinata explained as she sat directly across from Henrietta. "Ok you go first." Henrietta suggested. "Ok. What is your favorite color?"
"Brown." Henrietta replied. "What's yours?"
"Blue." Hinata said back.
Both girls smiled at each other before they broke out into a mantra of questions all the while smiling and giggling as they got to know one another. For 20 minutes the girls sat together bonding over their personal stories that they would tell each other some of which would involve our blond haired protagonist. "So what have you and Naruto been up to lately?" Henrietta asked. "Well not too much, we have been kind of busy with school but he's managed to hang out with me whenever we have time." Hinata replied as she watched Chaos who had an earth worm in her hand chase around Hanabi who was doing everything she could to get away from the hyperactive girl with Iris watching on in amusement. "So Hinata what's the academy like?" Henrietta asked with genuine curiosity.
"Well it is fun but we often have a lot of work to do and it can get boring during lectures. But my classmates are pretty nice and the school has a nice atmosphere to it so overall it is a nice place to be." Hinata explained as she could see the genuine curiosity in Henrietta's voice when she asked her question. "Boy… that sounds pretty nice. I wish I was a normal girl and could go to the academy like you guys." Henrietta said solemnly while pulling her knees to her chest. "Normal girl?" Hinata questioned as she turned to her new friend. "Well I asked Naruto to not tell you anything about my special condition because I wanted to tell you my self. You see Hinata I'm not completely human. Around three years ago I suffered a horrific accident that left me near death and when I was found by Mr. Dino's men they took me in and performed surgery on me to safe my life. They couldn't do much so they decided to replace my broken limbs with metal ones among other things. So I'm what you would call a human puppet or marionette. However unlike the wooden puppets that the Hidden Sand Village Shinobi use as their weapons my limbs were replaced with chakra conducting and chakra enhanced metal that is double coated. However with that much chakra metal in my body I'm weak to pure chakra based attacks. Attacks like your family's taijutsu." Henrietta said quietly with a nervous and venerable look on her face.
"Knowing that what do you think? Do you still want to be my friend or are you scared by this?" Henrietta asked Hinata sadly. Hinata had a shocked look on her face hearing what was just revealed to her. She would have never guessed that the girl she was starting to like as a friend had experienced something like that and lived to tell about it. Coming back to her senses Hinata smiled at Henrietta and spoke up to rid the girl of her fears. "Of course I still want to be friends with you. Even with your circumstances they don't make you any less human besides look at me and Eva. She's a demon even if she doesn't quite look it and she was my first female friend and best friend at that. If I could be friends with a demon despite all the legends about them then being friends with you is easy." Hinata said. The blue haired Hyūga watched as a small smile grew on Henrietta's face before the girl leaped at Hinata and tackled the poor girl to the ground with laughter. Looking up at the girl Hinata could see that Henrietta's eyes were tearing up slightly. "Thank you!" Henrietta cried out as she repeated thank you numerous times.
"Hinata help me!" Hanabi cried as she ran up to the two girls and hid behind Hinata who had sat back up in the grass. Chaos was hot on Hanabi's heals with a long worm in her hand that was squirming to get free. "Come on touch it you know you want to." Chaos giggled out as she tried to reach Hanabi who was darting from side to side behind Hinata. "No it's icky, get it away from me!" Hanabi rebuffed. "Ok Chaos, come here that's enough." Naruto said as he walked back into the clearing with two bags in his hand filled with bowls of ramen. "Daddy! Dada!" Iris and Chaos called out respectively as they raced over to Naruto and latched on to his legs. "Hey girls I'm back and I brought ramen." Naruto said with Iris and Chaos voicing their approval with cheers.
Coming over to everyone Naruto handed the bags to Hinata. "Ok let's make a table." Naruto said as he took a few steps back and clapped his hands together before slamming them into the ground. "Ice Style: Ice Make Jutsu!" Naruto called out as in front of him a medium sized circular table made out of ice razed itself out of the ground with a circular thick flat ring of ice jutting out of the stem of ice connecting the table to the ground forming a smooth bench for everyone to sit down on.
Putting the girls on the smooth bench Naruto sat down with Iris and Chaos next to him and on his opposite side Hinata, Henrietta, and Hanabi took up seats. For the next hour Naruto, Hinata, and Henrietta sat and ate while sharing stories to both entertain themselves and the children who were enthralled and enthusiastic about the stories they were hearing. Naruto told them stories about some of the assignments that he went on however he made sure to tell them the heavily 80% edited versions of them just to keep them kid friendly. The last thing Naruto wanted to do would be to mention his fight with Toiret and how he nearly died. Yeah that would definitely be a story Hanabi could get into.
After lunch Naruto dissolved the ice table and cleaned up the trash that they had created. "So what now?" Hinata asked. "Well I don't really know to tell you the truth, after the lunch I didn't really plan that far ahead." Naruto said sheepishly with a lopsided grin on his face getting Hinata to giggle at his expense. "Oooh! Me! Me! Me!" Chaos squealed out trying to get her father's attention. "Huh sweetie?" Naruto acknowledged. "Have a spar!" Chaos said with a grin.
"Uh? I don't know about that Chaos. I'm still a little sore from that little fight I had this week so I've been taking it easy for a bit." Naruto said with an uneasy smile. "Come on Dada please! It will be fun. I'll fight you!" Chaos said excitedly as she jumped to her feet and started to do sloppy sparing forms that Naruto had showed her the day before. "Chaos you don't even know how to throw a proper punch straight so having a spar with me is out of the question." Naruto said with an exasperated chuckle as he watched on as Chaos puffed out her cheeks in defiance. "Yes I do dada you due this!" Chaos announced as she threw her hand out in front of her but instead of forming her tiny little hand into a fist she left it open in a palm thrust and out of her hand came a small purplish colored fire ball no bigger than her fist. However the speed at which it traveled caught Naruto off guard who was in the path of the speeding bullet of fire. At the last second Naruto was able to duck under the blast with it skimming the very top of his hair before it flew away and impacted a tree fifteen feet behind Naruto.
The clearing was silent after that with everyone looking from Chaos to the tree then back to Chaos again. Naruto sat on the ground wide eye looking at his daughter then to the fist size scorch mark in the tree behind him. 'Incredible! How did she do that?' Naruto thought and everyone else was having similar thoughts except for Iris who was looking at Chaos with her eyes in their emerald color which Naruto noticed but just as quickly as it was there it started to fade away back to blue.
Noticing all eyes on her Chaos placed her hands behind her back and did the cutest pose she could do. "Oops." She said with an innocent smile on her face but to Naruto who knows Chaos he could see in her eyes a seed of mischief and excitement swimming in her purple eyes. Hinata and Henrietta easily fell for Chaos's innocent act and were ready to forgive her for the obvious accident and Naruto was too however he kept on looking back at the tree then to Chaos.
"On second thought maybe we should have a spar. But it will be me and Henrietta not you Chaos." Naruto said as he got down on his knee and pinched Chaos's cheeks. "And we will talk about what you just did later." Naruto whispered in her ear getting a seemingly confused look out of Chaos however Naruto could see the intelligence and the understanding deep in her eyes. "Us Naruto? But I thought you didn't want to fight?" Henrietta asked. "Yeah but if it's just a spar it should be fine and Hinata is not quite ready yet to spar with us." Naruto said as he and Henrietta stepped out into the field after doing a basic warm up session.
"Ready?" Naruto asked. "Ready!" Henrietta responded.
With Shoko and Jose
20 Miles away from the village.
"Have we reached the location yet?" Jose asked as he and Shoko had been traveling for over two hours after they left the village and Naruto behind. "Yes were here." Shoko replied as she and Jose stood on a tall hill overlooking a port town in the southern region of the country. The town was small however it had a medium sized harbor filled with ships and while medium does not sound like much the town is still well off considering that miles to the north in the Land of Waves they have a large Harbor filled to the brim with ships that come and go at all hours of the day and night. However they very recently started to run into bandit problems. However that's a story for another time.
Taking the path into the small town Shoko and Jose past by a sign that said. (Welcome to South Fork Town)
Found on the end of a cliff, the port of South Fork is home to a population of 600 lead by Baron Barnfield. This port wasn't built by a cliff by accident, as it has an ancient water source, which is of great importance to the people of South Fork and its success. The port itself looks ghastly. With its rusted rooftops, faded granite walls and musky swamps, South Fork has an ominous atmosphere. The main attraction is the blacksmith, which was built 37 years ago and designed by Samurai. South Fork has a prosperous economy, which is mainly supported by cooking, blacksmithing, and wood production. But their biggest strengths are delicate wood crafting and deadly archers. However, South Fork lacks people skilled in beer brewing. Despite its strengths and weaknesses, South Fork is most likely headed towards a grisly future under the leadership of Baron Barnfield. But this remains to be seen.
Entering the town the duo quickly found themselves a bar to situate themselves in. "So where do we find this Baron fellow?" Jose asked Shoko as he ordered a beer. "Well he is the de facto major for this town so he should be in the town hall." Shoko explained. "He is in serious debt with us and is also accused of harboring and smuggling low class supernatural beings in his harbor so that's why where here to TALK to him about his misconduct." Shoko said with a hidden serious glint in her eyes.
Leaving the bar the two partners traveled to the town hall where they were greeted by a receptionist. "Hello how may I help you?" The woman behind the desk asked. "Good afternoon where here to see the mayor." Jose greeted with a charming smile. "I'm sorry but you will have to schedule an appointment, he is a very busy man." The woman said politely. "Oh I understand we will be on our way." Jose said.
"Genjutsu: False Perception Delay." Shoko whispered behind Jose. The receptionist eyes sagged a little into a dazed look letting Shoko know that her Jutsu worked. "Come we only have about five minutes before the Jutsu wears off." Shoko said as she and Jose made their way through the building. "Genjutsu: Specter Walking." Shoko said as she and Jose were shrouded in her Genjutsu making them invisible to all of the employees working in the building. Reaching the mayor's office they slipped inside without a sound. "He's not here." Jose said as he and Shoko scanned the room and noticed that they were the only ones in the office. "Hold on." Shoko said as she placed her finger on the floor of the room and seconds later stood back up. "There are no traps in the room." Walking around, they searched the room for any information that they would find useful. "Found some documents." Jose called out. "Found some bank loans and shipping manifests." Shoko mentioned absentmindedly.
Bringing them to a large table in the middle of the room the duo laid out what they found. "Ok let's copy these and go over them later." Shoko said as she reached into her pouch attached to the back of her waist and pulled out a blank scroll. "Fūinjutsu: Copy Writer Seal." Shoko said as the words on the papers started to appear on the scroll in order of appearance and in a minute all of the papers were copied over into Shoko's scroll.
"That's a useful seal Shoko." Jose commented by whistling in appreciation. "Yes this was one of the first seals I learned from my master when I was a child." Shoko said in fondness. "Hey didn't you tell me one time that your master was…"
"Not now Jose we must remain focused." Shoko said cutting her partner off with a slightly strict tone. "Oh sorry." Jose apologized. "Come I have a good idea where are mark is located right now." Shoko said heading to the door. "Genjutsu: Specter Walking." Shoko said as she engulfed Jose hand herself in another one of her illusions and they proceeded to leave the building right on time as the receptionist regained control over her body.
Making their way to the docks the duo again past another sign, this one reading (Welcome to South Fork Wharf) written in bold letters. Slipping into the port the duo watched the proceedings of the busy industry all the while staying on the lookout for their target. "Found him." Jose said as he spotted the mayor standing by the docks talking with a group of people. "Ok we'll wait until he's alone." Shoko said as she and Jose crept closer to their target while staying out of sight. Soon Baron left the company of the men he was conversing with and began walking in a random direction. "Now." Shoko said. Walking past two large steel containers Shoko used her superior speed and grabbed Baron before he could even realize what was happening. Slamming the man into the side of the steel container Shoko held him at knife point. "Hello there Mr. Barnfield it would seem we have some business to attend to." Shoko said with a serious tone in her voice. Both her face and Jose's had a light Genjutsu covering it to make them look like someone else.
"Who are you two?" The man said with a gruff tone.
Looking the man up and down Shoko took in his appearance. Silver, short hair clumsily hangs over a lean, frowning face. Lidded green eyes, set delicately within their sockets, watch vigilantly over the Port they've managed for so long. Smooth skin elegantly compliments his eyes and leaves a beautiful memory of his form. He's wearing a standard shirt and buttoned it up fully to support the elegant tie he's wearing. On top of the shirt he's wearing a chic vest with 4 buttons, it has a fairly deep v-line, which causes the vest to line up perfectly with the jacket's v-line when it's button up. The jacket was clearly made for him, it's a perfect fit. It has an intricate, but subtle plaid pattern, giving the suit a stylish casual look. The 6 buttons of his double breasted jacket are all buttoned up with the exception of one, a subtle touch of nonchalance which works perfectly. The jacket is the same length all around, it has vents at either side, there's a pocket on either side and there's a breast pocket which contains a stylish pocket square. He's wearing pants which have the same color as the jacket, but a slightly different pattern and it is a perfect match for his shoes. He's wearing a modest pair of plain toe monk straps. To top it all off he's wearing a graceful belt, which can be accompanied by a hat and a scarf.
The man was six foot two which was not to different from Shoko's height at 5'11. "We are with the mafia Mr. Barnfield." Shoko said and immediately Shoko felt the business man stiffen in her grip. "Ah so you know why we're here judging by your reaction." Jose said as he stood next to Shoko. "We have received reports that you're smuggling drugs and other packages into the country and if that's not bad enough some of it has made its way deep into the country as far as the capital and the Hidden Leaf Village. That is unacceptable Mr. Baron so we were sent here to TALK to you about the problem we are having." Shoko said in a sickly sweet tone.
"I see so I should assume that you are going to shut down the port and seize all of the drugs in the ships." Baron said while trying to keep the razor sharp edge of the Kunai knife away from his throat. "Precisely but not only that we will also be seizing as you say the other human or non-human in this case packages with us and then we will turn you over to the capital and have them shut down the entire town and punish you all accordingly." Shoko said. Gulping Baron steeled his nerves. "You have no idea what you're doing. The operations I'm mediating now is serious, if you stop me now there will be severe consequences in the future that even the mafia won't be able to stop." Baron said truthfully.
"Who are your suppliers? If you tell us then we will seize the contraband but not alert the capital to what was happening down here. We will then go after those suppliers and stop them before they can retaliate against you for giving them up. See you get to keep your town and its people safe and you won't face any jail time." Jose negotiated. "You just don't get it do you. You are just scratching the iceberg on the amount of crap you now find yourselves in. The people I work for won't hesitate to burn this world to the ground if they have to. They will tear your world asunder just because you got in their way." Baron said with complete honesty but at the same time there was a hidden layer of fear in his voice.
'This man fears whoever is supplying him. Why do I feel a great sense of foreboding in this?' Shoko thought and out of the corner of her eyes she saw a man walk by the alley way that the containers created and when he saw them he immediately bolted back the way he came. "Shit! I got him!" Shoko exclaimed as she took off after the man who she could here was shouting out commands. "When is the next shipment leaving?" Jose demanded as he twisted Barons arm into a painful arm bar.
"You just don't get it do you? The next shipment is about to leave but you will never stop them from leaving. The people that I have worked tirelessly to smuggle in to town will never allow your friend to disrupt my operations… besides the fleet that's about to leave is being personally protected by my suppliers so that woman does not stand a chance." Baron said with some semblance of a smug look on his face until Jose knocked him out with a powerful knife shot to the back of his neck.
"Shoko please be alright." Jose said as he picked up Baron and made his way back to the entrance to the wharf. If worse came to worse he would need to bring back Baron to the village as well as get reinforcements. But first he would tie up Baron in a hidden location then assist Shoko.
Running down the muddy concrete was the man that walked in on them. He was currently screaming out commands. "Set sail, we have been compromised! Get those ships out of the port!" The man yelled until he was silenced with a Kunai to the back of his head. Coming out into a wide open area with the large ships on one end and the more industrial settings on the other side Shoko found herself surrounded by civilian workers as well as six ninja who looked like rouge ninja from the leaf.
"Who are you woman?" Someone asked. "Does it matter you're all about to surrender to me now." Shoko said calmly. "Yeah right get her!" A foolish young man said as he charged at Shoko with a crow bar in his hand. Getting within Shoko's personal space the man swung the iron bar at Shoko's head however it would be the last thing he would do. Taking a few steps Shoko walked calmly past the man as he tumbled forward and caught himself. The few ninja in the group suddenly tensed up and got on guard as they themselves couldn't tell what just happened. The man that attacked Shoko turned back to face her but he suddenly stopped as thousands of small little cuts deep enough to draw blood appeared all of his body and erupted in a shower of blood causing the man to scream out in pain as the air rushing against the fresh cuts were burning him.
Suddenly scared the group did not know what to do. "Now that you've attacked me I won't give you the option to surrender to me peacefully." Shoko said as she disappeared in a burst of speed and all of the civilians around her fell to the ground with various non-life threatening cuts that knocked them out or had them moaning on the ground in pain. "Now it's your turn. For turning your back on our village and for conspiring in obvious acts that would harm the village I'll make sure your punishments is worst." Shoko said as she directed her statement at the ninja that were now pulling out weapons to face her.
"Just who are you lady?" One of the ninja asked as he pulled out a kunai and held it in a reverse grip. "I'm your worst nightmare." Shoko said as she suddenly appeared in front of the ninja that spoke up and already had a kunai in hand and slashed at him to which he blocked and jumped away to get space between them. With the queue to start the fighting the other ninja jumped in to attack Shoko. Side stepping a downwards slash from one of her opponents Shoko backhanded the assailant sending him sprawling back and in perfect position for her to do a reverse snap roundhouse kick that sent him flying into a stack of lumber. He hit the wooden beams so hard that they began to crack and splinter. Spinning on her foot Shoko roundhouse kicked another of the ninja nearly snapping his neck in the process which sent him staggering back. Closing the distance Shoko was going to land a palm thrust to the man's chest but was blocked by a strike from another ninja. Blocking Shoko grabbed the man and pulled him towards her and with the man off balanced from the sudden shift in direction Shoko unleashed a devastating thrust kick that sent the man flying into the other ninja that she was going to palm thrust.
Both Ninja flew into a stack of creates that broke on impact. 'Three targets left.' Shoko said to herself as she spread out her senses to see who was going to attack next. Sensing a buildup of chakra above her Shoko instead looked ahead of her to see an incoming hail of shuriken and kunai thrown courtesy of the two ninja twenty feet in front of her. "Sigh… this won't be enough." Shoko said as she sprang into action.
"Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu!" The ninja above her yelled. The ninja was atop a large stack of shipping containers and was doing hand signs for his Jutsu. A medium sized fireball sprang forth from the man's mouth and headed straight for Shoko below. Moving with her superior speed Shoko grabbed the first two Kunai that were incoming and then jumping up she jumped over the fireball but not before dipping the kunai into the hot flames of the fireball and with a flick of her wrist sent the now hot and slightly steaming kunai straight into the skulls of the two ninja on the ground who threw the kunai at her in the first place. Landing on the container Shoko immediately dodged the incoming fist that threated to land straight in the center of her face. Grabbing the man by the arm Shoko judo tossed him off the container why still maintaining her grip on his hand and in a vicious act used her foot to pin his shoulder joint and with that he slammed into the hard concrete ground below which snapped his shoulder and broke his arm and back in several places. Stepping off of the man who was in agony Shoko looked over with dull soulless eyes to a second group of civilians who were scared out of their minds. One of the men there past out when Shoko took the first step towards them. The sad thing was the entire engagement between Shoko and the ninja took 45 seconds and not one of them managed to land a single hit on her.
'All of them were Chūnin at best, the last one of them was the only one who showed any potential at becoming a Jōnin but even then he still had a very long road ahead of him… well not anymore; scum like that don't deserve to advance.' Shoko thought to herself.
"What's going on here?" A young female voice said as a young girl with silver hair and turquoise eyes appeared on top of a shipping container 30 feet away from Shoko. She was on the small side being around 12 or 13 years of age. She had on a very large sea green pointy hat with crisscrossing ribbons wrapping around the hat with the ribbons making a bow off to the side of the hat. Around the rim of the hat was ancient writing that was radiating a slightly faint blue color. On the girls left arm she had some more ribbons tied and crisscrossing down her forearm and tying into a bow at her wrist with a long section of the ribbons tapering off past her hands. She had on a sea green colored dress that went down to her thighs and just above her budding chest which was about a b- cup. Around her waist tied to her back was many bows that were made out of a silky cloth and it was this cloth that was holding her dress tight against her body instead of being set free. On the rim of her dress was the same ancient writing that was radiating a faint blue color. She had on turquoise colored stockings and blue shoes. Her silver hair which was short to her shoulders grew longer in to twin tails that she kept draping down her side next to her chest and tied at the end of each of them were metal symbols that took the shape of the female sign that you usually see on restrooms or other gender specific areas.
"That woman she killed the ninja we hired to protect us. She is trying to shut down the port and take the drugs!" one of the men in the crowd said. "Well we can't have that now; can we?" A second voice spoke up and it was male. Coming out of the crowd was a hulking man with large muscles and a rigid face. The man had black hair that was in a buzz cut and beady eyes. The man was wearing a black tank top that was absolutely doing nothing at all to hide his bulging muscles and he was wearing lose fitting pants and basic footwear.
'I already received reports that this port was smuggling in and out supernatural creatures so I'm not really surprised. But why did that girl have to be a child I can't fight her even if she is my enemy. This is way different then the spars I have with Naruto. I can tell that the little girl is a witch especially since I can sense a strange energy mixing with her chakra coming from her, and that tall brute over there must me an ogre like the one Naruto fought a while back. This need to end so I better get serious.' Shoko thought to herself.
"Please everyone leave here it's going to get dangerous." The little witch girl said in a caring tone. Not being needed to be told twice or at all for that matter the men scattered to their ships and or out of the wharf as fast as they could leaving the combatants alone. "I got no time for learning your name wench so let's get this over with!" The man said as his he released a substantial amount of demonic Yōki as his body underwent a transformation and his muscles grew larger if that was even possible as well as his skin changed colors from a normal Caucasian complexion to a dirty brown.
"Wait Mazir you can't just attack like that!" The witch yelled out. "Shut it Aria this wench is mine!" The now named Mazir exclaimed to the little witch whose name is Aria. Taking off Mazir charged at Shoko with a vicious grin in place.
Taking out her sword in a puff of smoke Shoko prepared herself. Mazir came in with a massive right hook that Shoko dodged under and with the speed she has been known for she slashed upwards trying to lop off the giant ogres arm. However she ran into some trouble when her sword came into contact with Mazir's skin it bounced off in a clang. 'What?' Startled Shoko jumped back to get some space between them.
"Heh you like that woman that's my Crystal Skin ability for you. You see I'm different than normal Ogre's I was gifted with this special ability that makes my skin as hard as diamonds. You can't cut me with that sword." Mazir said arrogantly. 'So he's the type that shoots his mouth off. This should make things easier in fighting him.' Shoko thought as she charged at her opponent again. Going high Shoko jumped into the air and came in with an overhead slash. Seeing this coming Mazir swung his arm up to intercept. However Shoko suddenly disappeared from Mazir's view and appeared below him crouched low to the ground. "Kenjutsu: One Slice!" Shoko called out as she sliced upwards at high speeds cutting into Mazir's skin however she left a tiny scratch against his skin. Tumbling back from the force of the swing Mazir swung his other arm around to backhand Shoko however Shoko using her speed jumped over the wide swing and punched the giant of a man in the jaw with a chakra enhanced punch that rattled his brain and sent him tumbling to the ground.
Landing on the ground Shoko was preparing herself to finish off her opponent. "Aria what are you doing you useless witch attack her now!" Mazir called out angrily as he was seeing black spots in his vision. "But…" Aria was starting to say however Mazir cut her off with more of his yelling. "I don't care about your excuses we got a job to do so do it!" The ogre called out as he stumbled to his feet. "Kenjutsu: Hazard Blade Dance!" Shoko called out as she rapidly slashed her sword at Mazir cutting him multiple times which was quickly overwhelming him. 'I got him… what?!' Shoko thought as she suddenly found that she could not move her body. Looking over to the witch Shoko could see that the ancient writing on her clothes was glowing and the metal symbols attached to her hair were also glowing, a faint bluish green color. "I'm sorry…Psychic!" Aria yelled out as an invisible force threw Shoko into a stack of crates. Picking herself up Shoko nursed a bruised rib while holding up her sword. 'So this witch's powers revolve around Psychic type powers. Those are quite rare.' Shoko thought as Mazir rushed in again. "Water Style: Wild Water Wave!" Shoko called out as she spewed out a large amount of water from her mouth that stopped Mazir in his tracks and began to push him back. "Genjutsu: False Burn!"
"Kenjutsu: Water Style: Sword Slash Jutsu!" Shoko called out as she placed Mazir under a quick Genjutsu that had him imagining the water he was hit with suddenly turning into a river of fire that was burning him alive. Next she came in with her sword shrouded in a thin sharp layer of water chakra which she used to cut deep into Mazir's skin. "Water Style: Water Trumpet!" Shoko called out as she hit Mazir point blank with a pressurized shot of water right where she had just cut him causing the giant to be lifted off his feet and shot across the concrete breaking sections up as he tumbled across the ground where he hit a metal beam stopping his momentum.
Turing back to the little witch Shoko saw that the girl had fear in her eyes. 'She's not evil nor is she a fighter. Why must children be caught up in such things regardless if their human or not?' Shoko thought to herself. "Psychic!" Aria called out lifting Shoko into the air leaving the woman vulnerable. "I'm sorry… Psybeam!" The witch called out as a blast of multicolored energy blasted forth from the symbols in her hair towards Shoko. "Fūinjutsu: Concussive Barrier!" Shoko called out as seals lit up along the length of her sword and a green translucent barrier formed in front of her. However it wasn't enough as the barrier broke and Shoko was shot into the scaffolding of a large metal crane cracking two of her ribs and leaving an indent in the metal. Groaning Shoko perched herself on the bent metal while gathering her bearings. 'This child is powerful. To have this unique power and to be so strong with it. It's incredible. She's much more of a threat than that Ogre.' Shoko thought however she was knocked out of her thoughts by Mazir who slammed into the base of the crane shaking the whole machine. Sticking chakra to her feet Shoko braced herself as the crane bent at a 90 degree angle where her indentation was. The Crane slammed into a medium sized ship at the docks a few dozen yards away completely breaking the wooden decks and snapping the mass in half causing the ship to be wrecked at port. Seeing his chance Mazir jumped up onto the scaffolding and charged at Shoko with his fist raised high.
"Kenjutsu: Fury Cutter!" Shoko called out as she disappeared in a burst of speed and appeared in front of Mazir with her sword becoming nothing short of a blur as she hacked away at his tough skin causing cracks to form all over his body from the beating he was receiving. Shoko was relentless as she stomped forward hard as she pushed the giant back while slashing away at his hard skin. "Is that all you've got woman!" Mazir called out with a grunt as he reached out and grabbed Shoko around her neck as choke slammed her through the metal scaffolding causing her to break a rib. Grunting she tried to get back to her feet but Mazir started to crumple up and twist the metal around in an attempt to trap Shoko in a makeshift metal cage. "It's over lady seal her up girl!" Mazir called up to Aria who used her psychic powers to help twist the metal around. 'No these brats are not going to beat me! I will complete this mission and return home!
"It's not over." Shoko said as she released a large amount of chakra. "Kenjutsu: Hazard Slice!" In an instant a clean cut appeared in the metal at various angles cutting Shoko free and blasting Mazir back away from her. Getting to her feet Shoko charged at Mazir with renewed vigor. "Psybeam!" Aria called out as she saw Shoko get back up from that vicious choke slam. "No you don't. Water Style: Twin Helix Dragon Jutsu!" Shoko shouted out in a raised voice as in the water a few dozen feet away from them two water dragons twisting around each other in a helix formation rose out of the water and spit apart on intercept courses. One water dragon intercepted the psychic attack and disrupted its flow causing it to explode inside of the water dragon while the second one came in from behind Mazir and slammed into him like a train and it threw him on a collision course with Shoko.
Seeing his target Mazir built up a massive amount of Demonic Chakra and sped up. "Diamond Rush!" He yelled as his entire body was encased in a layer of crystals that was reflecting the light off of it. 'Here he comes. I haven't had to use this move in a while.' "Kenjutsu: Singularity Point!" Shoko called out as her eyes took on a dead look and she took up a strong and rigid stance with her sword and when Mazir came into range she extended her arm forward with her sword and pierced Mazir's crystal armor and ran him strait threw. Seconds later a massive concussive wave of compressed air in a cylindrical cone exploded out of Mazir's back and pierced another ship 50 feet away in the port completely ripping a hole into the thick hull of the ship and blasting splinters everywhere the Ship immediately started to take on water and was on its beginning descent to sinking. Mazir's body fell lifelessly to the ground besides Shoko with Shoko still in her stance covered in Mazir's blood.
Seeing this Aria who was now trembling in fear sank to her knees in shock at not only seeing the gruesome way Mazir died but at the sheer amount of power and resilience her opponent had. Speaking of which Shoko used the Body Flicker technique to ascend to the large metal container that Aria had situated herself on. Turning to see Shoko 10 feet away from her the little inexperienced witch eyes started to tear up before she screamed in fright. "Don't come near me you monster! Stay away! Stay away! Stay away!" Aria screamed as she sent bolt after bolt of psychic beams which Shoko deflected with her sword in a lazy one handed grip. However Shoko visibly flinched when the little girl called her a monster. "I'm not going to hurt you." Shoko said in a soothing voice. "No get away you monster! Reflect!" Aria called out as she threw up a clear shield of psychic energy that Shoko stopped in front of. Shoko sighed and swiftly cut down the barrier in her way by silently using her Seal Barrier Destruction seal.
Getting down to her knees Shoko grabbed the little witch by her shoulders and forced her to look her in the eye. "You haven't experienced a shred of combat before have you?" Shoko asked sadly. At this point Aria was violently shaking and trying everything to get out of Shoko's grip but in her panic she didn't realize that she could telekinetically move Shoko or push her back. However Shoko was well aware of this and was thankful that the girl was not thinking straight. Asking her question again Shoko got a nod of no from Aria. "I'm sorry we had to fight and I'm sorry that you had to witness that." Shoko apologized soothingly.
"Who are you?" Aria asked while looking at Shoko in the eyes while trying not to look at the copious amounts of blood drenching Shoko. "My name is Shoko and I was sent here to shut down the wharf because it was brought to my boss's attention that there was illegal drug smuggling and human trafficking going on in this town. Such activities will harm the rest of the country and disrupt the policies my boss set in place so I was sent on his behalf to fix things. I'm sorry things turned out like this." Shoko explained herself while maintaining eye contact with the little witch so that she would not become scared.
"What's your name?" Shoko asked politely. "My name is Aria Indigo and I'm a… ah… I'm ah…" Aria tried to say but she was afraid to speak up. "A witch." Shoko finished for her. "Yes, I'm a witch…" Aria said while pulling her hat over her face. "You shouldn't be nervous of embarrassed about who you are and certainly not afraid. You should be proud and you should hold your head up high." Shoko said as she tipped Aria's hat back up so that she could see her face and eyes which was tearing up again. "You don't hate me? You don't hate me for attacking you and hurting you?" Aria asked shakily while trying to hold her head down. "No of course not. We were in the heat of battle, besides I could tell that you were not evil from the very beginning. Besides I'm well aware of the history behind witches and how they are boarder beings between Humans and Monsters and because of that they are persecuted and hunted down by both species. However I don't care about such petty little things. As a matter of fact I use to know a witch when I was younger and she was a good friend of mine." Shoko said as she soothed the young witch with her words.
"You don't hate me?" Aria asked in disbelief. "Of course not. You know you remind me of my partner. He is a little younger than you but he tries to act tough and over protective of me even though I'm three times his age. He may act tough but he's actually a big softy on the inside. Who knows if things works out here you actually might get a chance to meet him and you might actually like him. But it's going to be tough he's already surrounded by a bunch of pretty girls." Shoko said with a light laugh and calm smile on her face. Seeing this Aria relaxed her muscles and the tears in her eyes stopped falling.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Aria asked. "Because I can tell a good person from a bad person and I could tell that you have a pure and innocent soul who was just guided down the wrong path." Shoko said as she pulled the little witch to her feet and dusted off her dress for her as a sign of friendship. With her eyes tearing up again Aria bowed her head to Shoko. "Thank you." Aria said as she embraced Shoko with Shoko returning the hug.
"You're welcome but can I ask you something." Shoko said as she pushed Aria back to arm's length so she could see the witch's face. "Yes." Getting the go ahead from the witch Shoko preceded. "How did you get mixed up in all of this; and do you know who is this benefactor that is supplying the mayor of the city with all of these drugs?" Shoko asked. That question all of a sudden got Aria to start shaking again. "The bosses who are controlling the mayor of this city, they are powerful and scary they…" Aria suddenly stopped as both she and Shoko heard a noise that paralyzed Aria with pure fear and had Shoko immediately on guard.
"RRRROOOOOAAAAARRRR!" A deep and gurgled moan that sounded like a roar was heard. Shoko immediately snapped her head in the direction of the sea that was out in front of them and her eyes widened considerably but it was too late.
A massive electromagnetic ball of lightning was racing across the sky in an arc and was descending upon the port at an extremely fast rate of speed. The ball of lightning was about the size of a medium sized ship like the ones still docked at the port. Shoko wrapped her arms around the small witch and was about to jump away but it was too late. The energy ball slammed into the port like a bomb and all of the electrical equipment in the area overloaded and exploded violently and coupled with the fact that the energy ball partially hit the water and there is water everywhere everything in the area got a massive electroshock including Shoko and Aria who were blown back by the explosion. In midair Shoko was holding on to Aria tight while coursing chakra through her body to dampen the effects of the explosion and the subsequent landing. Everything turned to white for Shoko who was witnessing this in slow motion however out of the corner of her eye she saw a black blur coming at her at blistering speeds and it was only her years of experience that allowed her to ever see it coming.
However she could do nothing about it and in a millisecond the blur past her by and she felt even more mind numbing pain but this time on her back and before her vision was consumed by the blinding white light this time her vision was encroached upon by the engulfing darkness of unconsciousness.
Jutsu Library (In chronological order)
1.) Ice Style: Ice Make Jutsu - A Jutsu create from the combination of both Naruto and Evangeline's team work. By molding chakra mixed in with Eva's Yōki into his hands Naruto can create any object he wants out of Ice. Depending on how much chakra he puts into the Jutsu will determine how durable the creation is.
2.) Genjutsu: False Perception Delay - This Genjutsu causes the target to be hypnotized and witness a series of events that never happened yet at the same time they retain a more rigid control over their body. Most of the time this Genjutsu is used on targets to make it look like the caster did one thing when in reality they did something completely different.
3.) Genjutsu: Specter Walking - This Genjutsu cast an illusion over the caster and whomever is caught in the casters influence. While under the illusion the caster is invisible to everyone around them and they are freely permitted to walk around without being noticed. The Genjutsu is a double layer illusion in the fact that on the off chance you bump into someone or something then a second Genjutsu automatically activates and puts the person under the false perception of them not feeling the bump or tap. However this Jutsu has its weaknesses in the fact that if used against a high level shinobi they will immediately notice the Genjutsu when you bump into them.
4.) Fūinjutsu: Copy Writer Seal - A seal that Shoko learned when she was little. It allows the user to copy the words and the entire appearance of a paper or even a drawing or painting onto a blank scroll in order of appearance and in perfect legibility and clarity. The seal only takes a little chakra to use so it is viable in almost any situation.
5.) Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu - The Hallmark Jutsu of the Land of Fire and the Hidden leaf Village and founded by the famous Uchiha Clan the Fire ball Jutsu is the go to fire style Jutsu as well as a right of passage in the Uchiha clan. The Jutsu spews forth a fire ball from the mouth of the user and the size of the technique is depended on the amount of Chakra used by the user. The Jutsu is the gate way Jutsu to many other advanced and powerful fire style Jutsu.
6.) Crystal Skin - An unknown ability that allows the user to turn his skin to crystals. It is almost impenetrable armor but it can be cut.
7.) Kenjutsu: One Slice - A sword technique where the user slashes their sword in front of them and a cut will appear on the target even thought the sword never made contact with the target. This is a long range attack that cuts the opponent with the same cutting ability as the actual sword that is used.
8.) Kenjutsu: Hazard Blade Dance - A sword technique that allows the user to rapidly slice an opponent or object at great speed.
9.) Psychic - A magic attack used by the young witch Aria Indigo this attack is a telekinetic attack that allows the user to pick up objects and move them around with their minds or even blast people and objects around with powerful force fields. So far the move shows no weaknesses however it can be said that the power of the move is dependent on the skill, power, control, and emotional state of the user. Or in other words the power of the move is only as powerful as the user.
10.) Water Style: Wild Water Wave - A basic water style Ninjutsu were the user molds water nature chakra into their mouths and spitting it out into a small scale wave powerful enough to sweep grown men off their feet and knock down light weight objects not tied down or secure to the ground.
11.) Genjutsu: False Burn - A Genjutsu that gives off the false perception of being burned. It is a fast acting Jutsu and can easily be used in the heat of battle.
12.) Kenjutsu: Water Style: Sword Slash Jutsu - A combination technique between sword techniques and Ninjutsu the user coats their sword with water nature chakra and attacks the opponent by slashing at them. It is good against Fire nature attacks and other tasks.
13.) Water Style: Water Trumpet - The user spews a pressurized shot of water at high speeds at the target. This move is regularly used in the Hidden Stone Village were the users of the variation of Lava Style the Corrosion Style mix the quicklime that they create with the water from this Jutsu to create fast drying concrete.
14.) Psybeam - A psychic type attack that is very powerful. The user concentrates large amounts of Psychic Magic into focus through a medium or object although there is no proof disproving the attack cant be fired from any body part. After concentrating a sufficient amount of Psychic Magic the magic becomes visible in the form of a kaleidoscope of colors from all across the light spectrum. The attack is then fired very quickly in a beam at the target. It is powerful enough to break through barriers and push people or objects back considerable distances.
15.) Fūinjutsu: Concussive Barrier - A sealing technique that creates a green translucent barrier that as the name suggest will bounce attacks back in a concussive wave or take attacks that have concussive properties. However it can be said that this is not the strongest barrier that Shoko can create. It was destroyed by the little witch Aria with relative ease.
16.) Kenjutsu: Fury Cutter - A sword technique that is an advanced version to Shoko's Hazard Blade Dance technique. The same principle applies between both moves however this move is more powerful and precise and is meant to be used against a single opponent so that the maximum affect of the technique can be used. Also the technique is meant to hammer away at an opponents defenses as the user actually stomps forward in a never ending progression of forward momentum that has the opponent trapped against the users charge. In comparison Hazard Blade Dance is comparable to an actual dance and is better suited to being used against multiple opponents where the user can dance his way through his or her opponents and dealing maximum damage.
17.) Kenjutsu: Hazard Slice - An upgrade and advanced form of the One Slice technique the user swings their sword at such a high rate of speed that a shockwave forms and blows back anything in the vicinity. In addition clean razor sharp cuts appear on anything caught in the swing of the sword. This technique is actually the follow up combo technique to Shoko's Hazard Blade Dance hence the similarity in name.
18.) Water Style: Twin Helix Dragon Jutsu - A high A- Rank Ninjutsu that causes two water dragons to spout from the water in a helix formation and at the discretion of the user the water dragons can continue to twist around each other in a helix formation and slam into its intended target or the water dragons can split apart after leaving the water and attack two separate targets simultaneously with all the force of its parent Jutsu the Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu.
19.) Diamond Rush - The only technique so far derived from the Crystal Skin technique. The user coats his skin in a visible layer of crystals and either charges at the target or uses any means of propulsion to facilitate his acceleration. However the technique has its draw backs in the fact that the user cant change his course if he or she is flying through the air and as such they are vulnerable to counter attacks and retaliation attack by their target.
20.) Kenjutsu: Singularity Point - A powerful advanced move of Shoko's that she commented on not having to use for a long time. The user takes on a rigid and strong stance and it is implied that they are as still as a statue and immovable like one as well. When they have their target in sight they will thrust their sword forward at such a dangerous speed that they can pierce almost anything. The attack is very precise oriented and it hits one spot and one spot only. However the thrusting power is so immense that it can pierce and shatter almost any defense. Further more the massive build up of kinetic energy will release itself in a cylindrical cone of concussive compressed air in the form of a shockwave that will go on for an undetermined distance and will pierce and destroy anything in its path as demonstrated by Shoko. As for the target they will violently implode at the point of singularity or origin hence the name. It can be heavily implied that this is one of Shoko's more destructive sword techniques and is one that she rarely has to use.
21.) Body Flicker - A high speed ninja technique that allows the user to travel at high speeds in micro burst. Usually the technique is accompanied by a special effect that masks the movement of the user.
22.) Reflect: A magic psychic move that creates a reflective clear barrier that looks like a glass pane. It is implied by the name that the technique reflects physical attacks and bounces them back. However it is not confirmed only implied at this time.
23.) Fūinjutsu: Seal Barrier Destruction - A sealing technique that breaks down barriers upon contact. However this technique has its limits. If the barrier has more energy then the seal trying to stop it then the seal will fail.
24.) ? - An unknown technique that was fired from the ocean at the port from an unknown source. The attack took the form of a massive electrical ball of energy that was the size of a medium sized ship or the size of a two story house. When it hits it cause all electrical equipment in the area that it can conduct itself to to violently overload and explode and it discharges a massive wave of electrical energy that can numb any living thing nearby. It is implied that the technique has EMP like qualities to it that affects electrical equipment at far enough ranges however that has yet to be determined. All that is known is that it causes large flashes of blinding light that are very similar to flash bangs and on its own it is equivalent to a bomb with its own force.
Authors Note (A/N): Hey guys now that was a epic battle I hope you all enjoyed witnessing Shoko flex her powers and show off her skills. I know I enjoyed writing it and I hope you enjoyed reading it. Now anyways I hope I didn't kill your brain from the either the Awesomeness of the fight or the Jutsu Library that I left at the end of the chapter. I hope you guys find that Jutsu Library segment useful and explanatory and it would make me happy if you guys somehow got any inspiration from the techniques that I create.
To tell you the truth the hard part is not coming up with the attack or what it looks like or how it functions its actually coming up with a name. Sometimes I find myself scratching my head trying to figure out an attack. However a useful tip would be to name it after what it does or the most important component of the technique. But I will freely admit that I took more than a little inspiration from the Pokemon series. I can't help the fact that I'm a huge fan and they have useful techniques. So I'll go ahead and just put a disclaimer here saying: (I do not own Pokemon of the Franchise or anything affiliated with it. I only own the inspiration from it. {If that makes any sense})
