Mimi, Palmon and Koromon were sitting on top of the swan paddle boat while Gomamon and Labramon swan in the water. Tai and Joe were working the peddles to make it move. Kara was sitting between Joe and Tai. "Okay, we're here. So you can stop asking now Kara." said Tai as the boat stops at the shore of the forest.
"Finally! Now let me out." said Kara, jumping out of the boat.
"Whew! I'm tired." said Joe, resting in the boat.
"Come on Mimi, get off your throne." teased Tai as he held out his arms for her.
"Uh, I would call this a throne." said Mimi.
"Yeah, well I wouldn't call you a princess." said Tai.
"Guys, over here!" Matt's voice echoed, making them all turn around to see the blonde leading his group over to them. "Hey, it's Matt." said Joe as the group ran over to them.
"And Izzy too!" said Mimi, happy to see the boy.
"It's been so long since I've seen you guys. My you've…shrunk." said Palmon as Tsunomon and Motimon were with Koromon.
"Don't rub it in!" shouted the three in-training digimon, turning away from her in a huff while Motimon, the only one with hands, placed them on his hips.
"So, where's Sora?" asked Tai.
"We thought you might know. We haven't seen her." said Matt.
"That's weird, it's not like her to disappear like that." said Tai.
"Well, actually, I think I might have seen Sora." said Mimi.
"Really Mimi? Where?" asked Izzy.
"At the Geckomon castle, but I might have been dreaming." said Mimi, thinking back to when she woke up from her nightmare and saw Sora.
[Flashback]
"That-a-girl, I knew you'd come back to yourself." Sora said to Mimi.
[Flashback ends]
"I think you're right. It must have been a dream." said Joe.
"Actually, I forgot that when I was just about to eat one of those Mushrooms of Forgetfulness when I was Agumon, Labramon and I heard a voice that sounded a lot like Sora." said Koromon.
"It's true." said Labramon.
"That's real weird." said Tai.
"But then…if Sora is close to where we are, why doesn't she come out and tell us?" asked TK.
"Well, maybe Sora just doesn't want to. Even worse, maybe she just can't." said Matt.
"Doesn't she miss us?" asked Kara.
"I believe she does but we won't know until we ask her." said Joe.
"All that matters is we've got to find her quick." said Tai as most of the digidestined checked their digivices for a red dot anywhere from the different color dots that showed where they were.
"It's almost like we're playing tag with her." said Tai.
"Come on, the signal points this way." said Izzy and they all start walking off.
Meanwhile in a mountain area that was covered by darkness, a castle stood on top of a mountain. There was a scream heard throughout the area as DemiDevimon falls down the stairs, all bruised up. "Because of your stupidity, my evil plans have failed." said a humanoid Digimon with a cape over his mouth.
"Oh boy…Myotismon. How'd did I ever get stuck working for this guy? Talk about a bad temper. And he's got all those bats. I hate bats!" said DemiDevimon about the Ultimate digimon. "Forgive my mistakes Master Myotismon. I beg you." he begs, head towards the ground.
"Courage, Hope, Friendship, Reliability, Knowledge, Sincerity, Forgiveness, the children's crests are beginning to glow one by one." said Myotismon about the crests.
"Everyone makes mistakes. Remember disco? Besides not all of the children's crests have begun to glow yet." said DemiDevimon, showing two portals, revealing one of Sora and Biyomon. "That one has the crest of Love. And thanks to me, it's still isn't glowing. Anyways, according to schedule, she'll be meeting up with the other children very soon. And when she does, Master Myotismon, when they are all together, that's when I'll make my move!" he said.
"You think you can? You better not fail, otherwise my bats will have a new chew toy; YOU!" Myotismon said to DemiDevimon and walks away.
"I hate bats." DemiDevimon said to himself, laughing nervously. As the sun was starting to set, the digidestined was still looking for Sora. "Sora!" Tai called out, not getting an answer.
"Sora! Where are you?!" shouted Izzy, but still no answer.
"Oh, why don't we find a spot and rest for the night? Or better yet, for the next couple of weeks. My feet are killing me, not to mention every part of my body." whined Joe.
"I can't move another inch." said Mimi, falling to her knees, worn out. Labramon was behind her with Kara on her back. Kara was starting to nod off a bit as she was walking. "Hey you guys. My digivice is picking up something." said Matt.
"Really? Well, what is it?" asked TK as Kara perks up.
"What's that buzzing?" asked Patamon.
"I wonder if it's Sora." said TK.
"Me too." said Kara.
"What's that sound?" Tai asked now that it was getting louder. Then this big wasp type digimon flew down from the sky and came after them, but they all ducked down not get hit by it.
"Oh no! Flymon's here!" yelled Labramon, still holding on to Kara.
"Brown Stingers!" shouted Flymon, shooting five of his red stingers at them as they all jumped or ran out of the way of being stabbed to death by stingers.
"Maybe this digimon analyzer Gennai gave me can help us out. Here he is. Flymon." said Izzy as he pulled up the image of the bug along with its stats. "Classified as an Insect digimon. A virus type and I think we already know what his attack is and it's not very pleasant. And her he comes now!" Izzy cries out as the bug comes back around again for another attack. They ran as Flymon kept shooting his stingers at them, almost getting Tai and Matt. "Careful Tai." Koromon cried.
"Look out Matt!" yelled Tsunomon.
"Koromon digivolve to…Agumon!" shouted Agumon, turning back into his rookie form.
"Tsunomon digivolve to…Gabumon!" shouted Gabumon, changing as well.
"Agumon!" Tai said smiling.
"Gabumon!" said Matt.
"Pepper Breath! Blue Blaster!" the two rookie digimon shouted, firing their attacks at Flymon but missed as Flymon flew out of the way.
"It's just not working. They need more help!" said Motimon.
"Marching Fishes!" shouted Gomamon, using his attack but they missed the flying target.
"Retriever Bark!" shouted Labramon, using her attack as well but Flymon dodges them.
"Poison Ivy!" shouted Palmon, trying to grab him to hold him still but Flymon weaves through her attack.
"Brown Stingers!" Flymon said, sending stingers at her and Mimi. Flymon was about to fire again at Kara and Labramon when Birdramon flies in overhead. "It's Birdramon!" said Labramon, seeing the champion level digimon.
"Meteor Wing!" shouted Birdramon, firing her attack and hitting Flymon.
"If Birdramon's here then so is Sora." said Tai as the red bird flew away from the group after saving them.
"Sora!" he yelled as he ran off to find her.
"Wait up, Tai!" said Agumon.
"Wait for me, Tai! I can't run as fast as you!" said Kara as she and Labramon gave chase after him.
"We're coming!" said Gabumon as he and Matt goes as well.
"I'm coming with you." said TK, chasing after them.
"TK, wait up!" cried Patamon, leaving Joe, Gomamon, Izzy, Motimon, Mimi and Palmon behind.
Sora was running away from the others when she came across a river with stones in the middle. She then jumps across, using the stones. Once she made it to the other side, she starts running again, only to be cut off by Tai, surprising her. "Sora, it's you." panted Tai. Sora turns around to make a run for it but was stopped by TK, Matt and Kara. "So why are you running away?" asked Matt.
"Enough running. Tell us what's going on?" asked Tai as Sora looks away from them with a frustrated but sad look.
"Sora?" asked Matt.
"Does this mean you…don't like us anymore?" asked TK.
"No, of course not." said Sora.
"Did you miss us while you were away?" asked Kara.
"I did, you most of all." Sora said sadly.
"Then what's wrong?" asked TK and Kara. A few seconds passed before Biyomon flew over and landed next to her partner.
"Sora, why don't you tell them?" asked Biyomon.
"Ok. It happened on the night Biyomon and I left camp and try and find Tai." Sora begins to tell them about the night she left.
[Flashback]
Sora and Biyomon were walking through a forest when Biyomon spots something. "Shh, someone's here." said Biyomon.
"Huh? oh." said Sora, looking a little to her right to see DemiDevimon a few yards away.
"I saw a strange digimon, he looked like a bowling ball with wings and he was talking to something in a giant bubble." said Sora.
[Flashback ends]
"So could you hear what he was saying?" asked TK.
"Yeah, I heard him talking about our crests." said Sora.
"What about them?" asked Tai.
"He was saying that each of our crests has its own special meaning. For example, Tai, yours is the crest of Courage." said Sora.
"The crest of courage?" Tai questions and remembers something from the pyramids.
[Flashback]
Tai was standing in front of the electrical wall. "I know you can do it. Have courage." said Agumon. "That's right and then the crest started to glow." said Tai. Tai then thrusts his hand forward and then his crest started glowing orange.
[Flashback ends]
"And the crest you have, Matt, is the crest of friendship." said Sora.
"Friendship." said Matt, thoughtfully holding his crest.
"And mine?" asked TK and Kara.
"Yours is special you two. TK, yours is the crest of Hope. Kara, yours is the crest of Forgiveness." said Sora.
"Alright. I hope we can get back home." TK said to his partner.
"People should always forgive themselves and as well as others." said Kara, sharing a look with Labramon.
Meanwhile Izzy, Mimi and Joe had gotten to the river. Izzy was climbing down one side and slips a bit, making Mimi and Joe gasping in shock. "Izzy's crest is the Crest of Knowledge." said Sora. Joe was now making his way across the river. "Joe's is the crest of Reliability." said Sora as Joe slips and falls into the water.
"Thanks for being there, Joe." said Gomamon, helping his friend get out of the water.
"And Mimi's is the crest of Sincerity." she said as Palmon uses her vines to pull her and Mimi across.
"And finally mine…mine is the crest of Love." said Sora, looking down at her own crest with a depressed look.
"Wow, the crest of Love. That's perfect for you Sora." said Tai, smiling. Sora tenses up, then turns around to look at him in anger. "No, it's not! You're wrong! Don't even say that, Tai! It's not like me at all!" yelled Sora, confusing them.
"But Sora, it is like you. You're always thinking of everyone else, including Kara and Kari." said Tai.
"Its true, Sora." said Kara, nodding.
"No way! I don't care what happens to everyone else. The truth is, you don't know the first thing about me. So back off!" said Sora. After her rant, she seemed to figure out what she just said and gasped in horror before looking down in shame. "I'm sorry, Tai." said Sora.
"Sora, what's the matter?" asked Tai.
"It's just that my crest…it won't glow! It's because I don't have any love." said Sora, shocking them even more. A few seconds later, they all sat down to wait for the others to catch up. "You love us, don't you Sora?" asked TK.
"I don't get it. Why is it that girls always have to get so emotional when it comes to love?" asked Tai, then Kara punches him in the arm.
"Leave her alone, Tai." said Matt.
"I was just joking around. You didn't have to punch me that hard, Kara." said Tai.
"The digimon thought I was funny too." said Sora.
[Flashback]
"Is your name by any chance be DemiDevimon?" asked Sora.
"It sure is and you're one of those kids, the digidestined. Tell me something, did you hear about the crests?" asked DemiDevimon.
"Yes, in fact I did." said Sora with Biyomon in front of her.
"Oh yeah, your that kid, Sora. The crest of Love." said DemiDevimon, chuckling evilly.
"And why are you laughing about that?" asked Sora.
"You just think you're so hot, but guess what? You'll never be able to make the crest glow. Never." said DemiDevimon.
[Flashback ends]
"That's it? I thought it was something serious, like they were gonna stop making those stuffed bean bag animals. Besides, DemiDevimon is a liar." said Tai.
"It's true. It started back when I was on the girls' soccer team." said Sora.
[Flashback]
"My family owned a flower shop. It was my mom's whole life." said Sora, beginning her tale.
Sora's mom, Toshiko Takenouchi, was arranging flowers in a vase. "Please mom, I've gotta go to the soccer match! The girls are counting on me!" shouted a young Sora, wearing w soccer uniform.
"Don't talk so loud dear. The flowers are very sensitive." said Toshiko.
"But this match is to win the title." said Sora.
"Sora, you can't go with your knee injured like that." said Toshiko.
"But mom, my knee is fine." said Sora, looking down at her bandaged knee.
"Sora, you can't go. Now sit down, we need to talk." said Toshiko and sees Sora hesitate as she sits on her knee.
"I want you to stop playing soccer and come home to work in the shop after school." she said.
"Do what? I won't stop playing to work with smelly old flowers." Sora said in anger.
"I can't believe a daughter of mine would act this way. My decision is final." said Toshiko, making Sora cry.
"Why can't you understand me?" asked Sora and then runs off.
"I walked around for hours. I found myself at the soccer field. The game had just finished." said Sora.
"What happened?" asked Tai.
"We lost the game, 6-3. My teammates were so depressed, that they didn't noticed me when they walked by. I felt like I had let them all down. Like it was my fault." said Sora.
[Flashback ends]
"My mom said I had to be part of the family business. No questions. That's how she is. It's like, it's the only thing that's important to her. She doesn't understand. That's why he wasn't lying when I grew up not knowing what love is." said Sora as she stood up, yelling and about to throw her crest away, but Tai rushes over and grabbed her arm.
"Sora, stop it!" said Tai.
"Let go!" yelled Sora.
"Even if what you said is true, you shouldn't believe a word from that loser DemiDevimon. He's just a creep who's trying to hurt you." said Tai as Sora then burst into tears, shocking all of them. Kara walks up to her, hugging her around the waist. "Wait, wait! Don't cry Sora. Matt, help me out. I don't know what to do with her when she starts blubbering." said Tai, earning a glare from Kara and Labramon.
"Just let her go, Tai. She'll be ok." said Matt, looking away and crossing his arms.
"Boy, Matt's like a real grown up." said Agumon.
"Now, if only he would cut his hair." said Gabumon.
"Sora, I forgot to thank you." said TK, making her stop and look at him in surprise. "You told us not to eat the mushrooms, didn't you? I want to thank you for saving us."
"Right TK. We thought DemiDevimon was up to no good so we kept out of sight and made sure you guys stayed out of trouble. We were even there when you guys were working in the restaurant, Matt." said Biyomon, making Matt think back to that time.
"I have no idea." said Matt.
"Sora, thank you for looking out for us." said Kara.
"You didn't have to hide from us. We were all worried." said Tai.
"Sora just needed to be alone for a little while. But she really didn't want to be away from you guys." said Biyomon.
"I like you, Sora." said TK.
"So do I." said Kara.
"Huh?" asked Sora, looking at them.
"Please don't go away again. I don't like being away from you. When you're around, Kara and I don't miss our moms so much." TK giggled.
"Yeah. When you were gone, I started to miss my mom again." said Kara.
"TK, Kara, I'm…so, so sorry." said Sora, sniffling as she rubs her eyes to stop the tears.
"Hey!" said Joe's voice, making them turn to see that the rest of their friends arrived.
"Hey, what took you guys so long?" asked Tai.
"Well, we would have been here sooner but Joe fell into the river." said Mimi.
"Hey Mimi, you're the one who was hungry and tired and had to sit down every five minutes." said Joe, but little did they know that DemiDevimon was waiting for them to get together.
"Finally, they're altogether. I must tell Myotismon." said DemiDevimon, chuckling evilly.
Later that night at Myotismon's castle, a gate opened up to reveal a black dragon looking digimon pulling a carriage into the night sky to find the digidestined. Meanwhile after the others learned about what their crests meant, they were now all asleep. "Sound asleep. Alright! Ha!" said DemiDevimon, pulling out a huge dart.
"Myotismon will be so proud of my work, maybe I'll get a promotion!" he said too loudly, causing Biyomon to wake up and sees him. "Demi Dart!" he shouted, throwing the dart at Sora but Biyomon takes the shot.
"Sora, watch out!" Biyomon cries out.
"Biyomon!" said Sora, as she pulls the dart out. "No, Biyomon! Please wake up! BIYOMON!" she cried.
"Sora, I will protect you." Biyomon said, weakly.
"Uh no." said Sora as her digimon passes out.
"Sora, what's wrong?" asked Tai as he and the others woke up.
"Oh! DemiDevimon!" said TK.
"I don't like you, you big bowling ball with wings!" yelled Kara, but then the clouds darkened, leaving only light from the fire that was still burning. When the clouds moved away, the full moon was red and the creepy black dragon pulling the carriage was flying towards them.
"Hey, what is that?" asked Tai. Everyone cried out when a black coffin with gold decorating, fell out of the carriage as the dragon flew off. The coffin then opens up, revealing Myotismon, who then floated down towards them. "Tai, I don't like the feeling of this." said Kara.
"You and me both." said Tai.
"Digidestined! Your journey ends here!" said Myotismon, landing on the ground.
"That's it! That's the thing that DemiDevimon was talking to." said Sora.
"He's not a thing. He's Lord Myotismon." said DemiDevimon.
"Myotismon?" asked Tai.
"That's Lord Myotismon!" yelled DemiDevimon as the freak in the cape laughed.
"These digidestined are making me feel a little…batty. Grizzly Wing!" said Myotismon before pulling his cape out, a swarm of bats coming after them.
"Come on, guys. Let's go!" said Agumon as he led the digimon out to fight and protect their partners.
"Pepper Breath! Blue Blaster!" shouted Agumon and Gabumon, firing their attacks at the bats.
"Motimon digivolve to…Tentomon!" shouted Tentomon.
"Super shocker! Retriever Bark! Boom Bubble!" shouted Tentomon, Labramon and Patamon as they fired their attacks as well.
"They're still coming after us!" gasped Mimi as some of the bats got through the wall of fire
"Mimi! Palmon digivolve to…Togemon!" shouted Togemon and runs off towards the bats. "Let me try to get my point across. Needle Spray!" she shouted, spinning and taking out a third of the bats.
"Gomamon digivolve to…Ikkakumon!" Ikkakumon shouted, facing the remaining bats. "Harpoon Torpedo!" he said, taking out the rest of the bats as four of his torpedoes head for Myotismon.
"Wow, way to go!" said Joe but then Myotismon flies through the smoke with not a single scratch on him.
"Can't defeat me that easily. Crimson Lightening!" said Myotismon, creating a whip out of red light and knocks Togemon off her fight. Myotismon laughed like a maniac as he hits Ikkakumon with a second whip, then flew down as the three digimon return back into their rookie forms. "Tai, he's just too strong for us." said Agumon.
"Now what?" asked Tai.
"I've gotta do something to help them." said Biyomon weakly, making Sora look down at her in shock as Myotismon stalks towards them. "I'm the only one left to fight Myotismon." she tells her.
"It's no use! You can't do anything in you condition." said Sora.
"Please understand, Sora. I have to go." said Biyomon as she tried to go, but Sora wrapped her arms around her digimon to hold her back.
"No! Biyomon, you can't! You'll get hurt! I won't let you! My decision is final!" said Sora.
"Sora, why can't you understand!" cried Biyomon, shocking her partner.
[Flashback]
"Why can't you understand me?!" cried a young Sora and runs off.
"I always thought my mom only cared about her flower shop but she was really worried about me getting hurt." thought Sora.
[Flashback ends]
"Biyomon digivolve to…Birdramon!" shouted Birdramon and flies at Myotismon. "Meteor Wing!" she shouted, sending fireballs at Myotismon but uses his cape to block the attack from the champion digimon.
"Crimson Lightening!" shouted Myotismon, using his attack, making Birdramon screech in pain.
"Birdramon!" Sora shouted, as she started running towards her digimon as she fell from the sky in pain. "Birdramon, no! I LOVE YOU!" she cries, making her digivice glow red and the crest of love shoots out of her tag.
"Birdramon digivolve to…" Birdramon was engulfed in flames as she became a bird like creature that stood up on her legs, with arms and wings on her back. She had long blonde hair, her feathers were red as well as blue and white markings all over her and looked like she was ready for a fight. "Garudamon!" shouted Garudamon, after digivolving to her ultimate form.
"What? Where is that light coming from?" asked Myotismon as he shielded his eyes.
Garudamon went over to Sora and gently picks her up, looking down at her with beautiful green eyes. "Sora, I can feel your love. It's making me strong!" said Garudamon.
"My crest…it glows." said Sora.
"Garudamon is the ultimate form of Birdramon. She commands the sky and protects the earth. Her attack is a flaming bird called Wing Blade." explained Tentomon.
"Ah! Why is it now the crest of Love glows as I was about to claim victory?!" growled Myotismon.
"I'll protect you, Sora. Wing Blade!" shouted Garudamon as she created a flaming bird and fires it at Myotismon.
"Grizzly Wing!" shouted Myotismon, countering her attack, but each attack was equal.
"I did not anticipate such strength." he said as he blocked the light.
"Come on everyone, climb on." said Garudamon as she came over to them.
"You don't have to tell me twice." said Kara, as both she and Labramon run over to her. Everyone did as she said and she quickly flew off before Myotismon could recover and attack them. "Next time, you won't escape." Myotismon called after them. They all exclaimed in glee as they saw the sun rising in the sky as they were flown to a safe place, the light being very welcoming after that nightmare.
Garudamon founded a place to set the digidestined down were they would be safe and sound, then she transformed back into Yokomon, hopping over to her partner. "All you had to was stop worrying about it, Sora and you got your crest to work." said Tai as they all sat down.
"When Biyomon was in danger of getting hurt, I realized that I was just acting like my mom. Know what I realized? My mom loved me all along." said Sora with a loving smile.
"It was your love that helped me digivolve, Sora." said Yokomon, cheerfully.
"I'm glad." said Sora.
"You see? You are capable of love after all." said Yokomon.
"I felt something. I guess it was your love shining through." said Tai.
"You sure it wasn't something more, Tai." teased Kara, causing her brother and Sora to blush.
"I felt something too. It made me feel uncomfortable." said Joe, making everyone look at him weirdly.
"Love shouldn't make you feel like that." said TK.
"That's right, TK. I know why you feel uncomfortable Joe." said Mimi as she walked over to him with her cupped together.
"Why?" Joe asked her.
"These were in your pocket." said Mimi as she handed over some seeds that she held and Matt played his harmonica.
"Oh, I guess it wasn't love." said Joe, sighing to the ground. They all laughed at him, happy that they were all together. Matt stopped playing his harmonica as thunder boomed and black clouds rolled in as that annoying evil laughter echoed around them. "I know that laugh." said Sora, standing up.
Everyone huddled together as the digimon went on guard to fight. "You foolish digidestined! The eight of you are no match for my power. Prepare for your ultimate destruction." said Myotismon, laughing as he hid in the dark sky.
