Hi everyone! Thank you for all the favs, alerts, and reviews! Since I was excited to write this chapter, I got it done quickly.
Glee is on tonight, is everyone excited? I personally think these past few episodes in NYC have been the best in awhile.
I don't own Glee. I only own the characters Cory Hudson and Hudson baby #2.
Enjoy!
"Excuse me," Finn said as he grabbed another waiter's wrist as he walked by. "Can you please tell our waiter that we had to leave? My wife's in labor now and-"
"No worries, I'll take care of it. Good luck," he wished Rachel luck as he walked away, and as soon as he was gone Finn rushed over to help Rachel get up.
"Let me help you."
"I can get up-" before she could finish her sentence another contraction rushed through her.
"I'm helping you," Finn was being stern with her now. If she didn't like him helping her, tough. They made their way to the car and swiftly made their way to the hospital. Luck must have been on their side because they made every green light when they came to one. While she was yelling at him to drive faster, he just concentrated on the road. They arrived at the hospital ten minutes later, where Rachel's pain heightened.
A nurse was waiting outside, "What seems to be the problem miss?"
"M-my water broke about ten minutes ago..I'm not due for another two weeks!" she exclaimed as the nurses helped her into a wheelchair.
"Well, if your water broke that means you're definitely in labor. Let's get you inside before it starts snowing," they wheeled her into the hospital to check her in so the secretary could call Dr. Chin.
"You're awfully young to be having a child," the secretary said while typing on her computer.
"Like I haven't heard that one before," the brunette retorted. She was then taken to the seventh floor with the help on an elevator, and was assigned into her room. Once again, she was in room 401, the same room she was in when Cory was born. Finn had to wait outside while they put a gown on her, and they let him come back in once they did their checkup on her.
"She said I'm three centimeters, and it's a guess as to how long I'll be in labor for," she groaned.
"When we have our third child, we'll have to personally ask for this room," Finn joked around, but all Rachel did was slap his arm. This was going to be a long night for the both of them.
8:00 PM
"I hate you Finn. I hate you I hate you I hate you," Rachel moaned while another contraction rippled throughout her body.
"Just be happy that this is the last kid we'll have for a good ten years," Finn said while pulling his phone from his pocket.
"Please don't start playing a game in my time of need," she commented.
"I'm going to text everyone to let them know you're in labor," he said as he starting typing out the messages. "Anyone specific you want to come tonight?"
"Tell Burt, Carole, Kurt, and Santana to come. Also, if you could, please tell Carole or Burt Cory can come visit for a fifteen minutes as long as one of them takes him home afterwards and stays with him for the night."
"Alrighty... My mom said Kurt will bring him and then go home since he's still a bit jet lagged from. Once he comes home then Burt and my mom will be on their way. What about your dads?"
"Oh my...I can't believe I forgot about them. Tell them to come too," she said while rubbing her stomach slowly.
Soon enough, Kurt came with Cory, who tried to jump on the hospital bed as soon as he saw his mom. "Mommy!"
"My Little Cor!" Rachel cooed, placing her arms out so Kurt could put him on the bed.
"What wrong Mommy?" her son asked, concerned as he patted her bulging stomach.
"Mommy's getting ready to have your baby brother, so that's why she's in the hos-pi-tal," she sounded it out for him so he'd be able to try and say it.
"Hopital," he tried to say.
"Close, you'll get it one day baby," she gave him a kiss on his forehead. He smiled, but then yawned not too long after.
"I think it's best if you go home and go to sleep," Finn said as he hugged his son.
"I not sleepy..." he yawned again. "I wanna meet baby."
"You will meet the baby tomorrow, I promise. And if you think about it , when you wake up tomorrow and come to visit, the baby will be here waiting for you," Finn smiled as he finally got Cory to give his parents goodbye kisses. Kurt picked him up as he was starting to drift off in his arms.
"Bye Mommy, bye Daddy," Cory slurred a bit as he left the room with his uncle. Rachel sighed as she watched them walk away.
"Hopefully I'll be holding the new baby tomorrow."
"You will."
11:30 PM
"Finn, you need to go and get a nurse now," Rachel said sternly as she growled in pain.
"I'll go," Burt said as he walked out of the room. He wanted to let Finn stay by her side, which was a nice gesture. A couple minutes later Dr. Chin herself came into the room to check on her patient.
"Good evening," she greeted with a warm smile. "What seems to be the problem?"
"I. want. an. epidural. now," she pleaded.
"Let me check...Five centimeters. I'll get the anesthesiologist in here as soon as I can. Remember Rachel, due to your small stature we might have to do a c-section depending on how long it takes for you to push. And," Dr. Chin looked over at Burt and Carole. "Not to sound pushy or anything, but I advise you go home and get some rest. She probably won't deliver until morning anyways."
"We'd like to be here, though," Carole defended herself and her husband.
"Mom, go home. You and Burt look tired. We'll call if anything major happens," Finn instructed, hoping they'd take him seriously.
"Alright," Burt pouted while rubbing his eyes. "Good luck Rachel."
"Good luck Rachel," Carole said as well.
"Thank you both," she said with a sigh.
"Now tonight will be a little more bearable, huh?"
"No kidding," they both laughed. Once the anesthesiologist arrived and gave her the epidural. It took a few minutes before it kicked in, but she already felt so much better.
"And...?" Finn waited to hear for her opinion.
"This is probably the best decision I've ever made, besides keeping Cory," Rachel answered.
"You know, there's one thing we never talked about with this baby."
"What's that?"
"Names," he was right. When they found out the second baby was a boy, they were thrilled. However, a month later, the Olivia and Jack drama occurred and they really didn't get to discuss baby names.
"We can name him Christopher, just like you suggested," that idea popped into her head only a second before.
"He has to look like a Chris though," he pointed out. "Why don't we come up with a middle name now, and then we'll think of a first name when he's born?"
"That's a good idea," she complimented him as he pulled out his phone to put up a list of baby names.
"Should I try one of those generator things? Like, you put in the last name and the baby's gender and it comes up with a name for you," Finn clarified. She nodded and watched his fingers flash across the tiny keyboard.
"How about...Cameron Hudson?"
"Nope."
"Owen Hudson?"
"That sounds weird. Nope."
"Harrison Hudson?"
"What are you trying to do to our son Finn?"
"Fine. This is the last time I'm pressing generate, and that will be his middle name. Deal?" he offered.
"Alright. If it's bad then it's not my fault," Rachel was hoping it wasn't going to be something stupid.
"And...the name is...Cory Hudson."
"You have got to be kidding me."
"Now this will be the last time," he pressed the button on more time. "His middle name will be Michael."
"Michael. That's actually a good middle name. Michael it is then."
December 2nd, 2012. 7:26 AM
"Finn, get the doctor, now!" Rachel cried out. After her and Finn got a few decent hours of sleep, she woke up about an hour ago feeling pain again. These contractions felt like fire burning her entire body. They felt the exact same way when she was about to have Cory. Finn had just finished his breakfast and jogged outside to the nurses' station. The same nurse that admitted her arrived with a new pair of gloves and examined her.
"Look like you're ten centimeters dilated. Let me page Doctor Chin and you'll be ready to push," she grabbed her pager while walking out of the room to get a team of nurses. Rachel's anxiety was officially at it's boiling point, and she was freaking out.
"I can't do this...I can't do this again Finn! Make them do a c-section, please!" she sobbed.
"Look at me," he demanded, and she did so. "You can do this. You-"
"Alright Rachel, it won't take me long to prep you," Dr. Chin said while rushing in the room. Nurses were bringing in equipment for her and the baby, and not even minutes later did she hear her first commands. "When you feel a contraction, I want you to push as hard as you can. Ok?"
"Ok..." she whimpered.
"And...push!" all of Rachel's energy went into one push, which probably wasn't the best idea. Ten seconds later though she had some relief as she crashed into the pillow on her bed.
"This hurts...this hurts so much."
"And...push again Rachel!" and she did as the doctor asked.
"I can't do this anymore!"
"You can do this Rachel. You did this one before, and you were great at it. You know what the best part about this time compared to the last?" Finn asked sincerely.
"W-what?" Rachel stuttered.
"We already have a family, you and I. We don't have to worry about if we're keeping this little boy or not, because we know the answer to that question," he kissed her cheek. Their heartfelt moment didn't last long because she had to push again.
"He's crowning! This little one really wants to see the world," Dr. Chin said with a smile.
"He really does...Remember Rachel, I love you," he murmured more words of encouragement into her ear as she made another huge push.
"The shoulders are out. Rachel, just one more big push and he'll be here," her ear-piercing scream filled the room for only a few seconds, when another high pitched one filled the room with joy.
"Congratulations, it's a boy!"
Yay, baby boy#2 is here! His middle name is Michael, which is another homage to Cory, since one of his middle names was Michael.
Coming up in chapter 27: Finchel meet their baby boy and get acquainted with him. They also finally figure out what to do with their living situations.
