A Hylian's Harem

Epilogue #7

A Dream Come True

The Grecian couldn't suppress the smile that curved her soft lips. Her pulse quickened and she took deep breaths in an effort to calm down, but it didn't help. She was warm, but thankfully the open window allowed a fair breeze to cool her down. But her heart wouldn't cease its quickened beat.

She was soaring, elated beyond imagining; she hadn't been this happy since four years ago on that fateful day.

And yet, it felt as if it was only yesterday.

/ "I want to talk that path with you, Sophitia," Link declared. His gaze was sharp and determined. "I am deeply sorry, everyone, but I cannot lie to myself."

A series of gasps followed, but none higher in pitch than the blonde swordswoman; Sophitia couldn't believe it, but there was no mistake about it; the Hylian was looking at her. Link had spent weeks pondering and listening to his heart and he had realized it had always been about her. He had declared in front of every one that he wanted to be with her! He –

The Grecian clutched her chest with a sharp intake of air. Heat spread across her milky-pale cheeks, her heart beat steadily rising.

"Is this a dream…?" Sophitia asked, only to let out a short-lived yelp. She rubbed her arm and stared up at her silver-haired friend.

The noblewoman did not look pleased. "Unfortunately, it is not."

The swordswoman blinked. She turned towards Link, her expression becoming radiant as she suddenly ran up to him and embraced him tightly.

For the longest time, Sophitia had wanted to befriend the Hylian. And now, he was in her arms.

"I had almost given up," she whispered to him. "Thank you…"

"Why are you thanking me?" he asked, genuinely curious. The swordswoman hugged him tighter.

"I don't know," Sophitia replied. "For existing. For opening up to me. For this moment. I don't know."

The Hylian chuckled and rubbed the woman's back soothingly. He was quite thankful for this as well – for the Grecian to not give up on him. If she had, he wouldn't be as happy as he was now.

It had been long overdue, but better late than never, as they say. They both had a lot of catching up to do, but thankfully they had nothing but time now. /

She smiled to herself, laughing softly as she glanced over at the mirror in the room. What a wonderful day that had been; they had gone on a romantic walk along the shores of Lake Hylia until evening, with a romantic dinner waiting for them at the castle. Then they had gone for stargazing on the field, proclaiming their love for each other.

The Grecian was so lost in her reverie that she didn't notice that someone had stepped inside her room until they exclaimed, "Wow… You look beautiful, Sophitia."

Startled, the swordswoman turned but her expression quickly eased upon seeing the guest. She smiled back. "Thank you, Cassandra."

The younger Alexandra sister playfully grinned. "It's funny; you've talked about him so much, I was under the impression that he'd always be out of your reach. And yet, here you are." She nudged her sister with her elbow. "You know, if things don't work out –"

"Don't you dare," Sophitia stated and gently slapped her sister upside her head. "I have no intention of letting him go. Find your own man."

The sisters exchanged looks and giggled. Cassandra hugged her sibling and softly said, "Still, I'm happy for you, sister. I know you two will be very happy together."

That was heart-warming to hear. The older blonde hugged Cassandra tighter. "Thank you."

"Now," the younger sibling stated. "You better hurry and get out there, or Link will start wondering."

That's right; she had somewhere she needed to be, and now wasn't the time to reminisce!

"Yes, you're right," Sophitia exclaimed. "I can't keep him waiting."

X.x.X

Link sighed, desperate to calm himself. The weather was nice; not a cloud in the sky. He rubbed his neck nervously, the anticipation eating away at him. It didn't help that people – friends and strangers – were watching him, the centre of attention. He glanced to his left and met Zelda's gaze; she smiled reassuringly at him and for but a brief moment, Link was at ease.

Music began playing. Link and everyone gathered turned their heads –

The Hero's heart nearly leapt out of his chest. Sophitia looked stunning – angelic, even! Her flaxen hair free and danced in the gentle breeze, and she wore a beautiful snow-white dress that sparkled in the sunlight. She was crowned with a silver tiara with a transparent silk veil.

Was this the definition of an "angel" that Link had heard about in his adventures in this world? Because there was no chance that this radiant being was his soon-to-be wife.

He swallowed hard. The beautiful swordswoman whom he had known throughout his adventure walked down the aisle, accompanied by her sister, until she stood in front of him at the altar. Sophitia gracefully pulled back the veil, sky-blue pools meeting azure ones, and everything fell silent.

"Hey…" he whispered loud enough for her to hear. It was silly, but he didn't know what else to do.

"Hi…" she replied, smiling back at Link.

His heart – and no doubt hers as well – was strongly beating against their chests. The priest cleared his throat.

"I love you," Link whispered.

"And I love you," Sophitia whispered back.

X.x.X

Sophitia and Link were wedded in a city called Athens, attended by the princess of Hyrule herself and Sophitia's sister, amongst many others. The wedding is recorded as a highly memorable day, and the couple never forgot about the day they became as one.

Link remained with his wife in her world and was said to be happier than ever. He would, however, occasionally return to Hyrule and visit his friends; especially when he wanted to introduce them to his two darling children, a son and a daughter.

Sophitia, despite having grown accustomed to the life of a warrior, returned to her family roots and opened up a bakery, with her husband helping out when he could. Their life was not as adventurous as they were used to, but neither seemed to complain for the remainder of their long years.
