Lilac eyes stared up at the smooth, pale white ceiling. She clicked her tongue along with the sound of the clock. Neji had told her he'd be here in twenty minutes but they seemed endless. She was bored.

She could feel her blood rushing around her body. The cold floor stung her back but she ignored the sensation as she noticed a small crack in the paint that she hadn't seen before. Her phone beeped at her and she lifelessly pressed the little green icon.

"Hello," she said as she pressed the phone to her ear.

"…Did you just press the phone to your ear? Are you serious?" Sasuke asked with disbelief lacing his voice.

"Was I suppose to put you on speaker?"

"No, you idiot; we're on Facetime."

"Face…Oh! Sorry! I wasn't really paying much attention when I answered."

"Obviously. What's got you so distracted?"

"Neji's coming over but it feels like an eternity."

"Talk to Hideki today?"

"Not yet, I'm planning to call after I speak with Neji."

"Alright last question; why the hell are you on the floor in the living room?"

"I was playing with Cuddles before she abandoned me."

"So you just stayed there," Sasuke asked as he settled into his bed.

"Yup! How was the rest of your day? We didn't meet with each other after school today."

"I had practice; Guy is pushing us so that we win the first game. He claimed it was good luck for the rest of season."

"Fascinating," her eyes drifted to the door. "Jerk."

"We haven't gone on a date in a while," he leaned against the headboard.

Even through the slightly blurry image, Hinata could see the tips of his ears turn red. A smile formed on her face and she shook her head slowly.

"We don't really know each other," she answered. Sasuke's amused and slightly embarrassed features turned into a thin frown. "I mean I don't even know your favorite animal."

"I know yours."

"What?"

"It's doves. You have dove earrings and right now you're wearing a necklace that matches it. When Sakura wrote her winter project surrounding doves you were so happy. And—"

"O-Okay!" she hid her flushed face from the camera. "How did you know that?"

"I notice things. You may not know anything about me, but I've picked up a few things about you."

"…Is it wrong that I know so little but care so much?"

"I don't know. I'm not an expert in relationships."

"Alright, then I need to step up. I won't let you down Sa—"

"Don't say names. My nosy ass brother's girlfriend is living here now."

"And she's giving your ass a little nephew or niece, you little runt!"

"I didn't ask for it, Itachi did!"

"Speaking of, does your brother not like me?" Hinata asked suddenly.

"What do you mean? He's only met you like once right?"

"On a few occasions we've conversed and he seems to dislike me."

"Well you are my…y'know, so it looked suspicious that I had your number and knew where you lived. He's actually not a bad guy."

"Okay, then explain the bruise on your face that day."

"Me and my brother get physical. It's how we manage…And it only rarely happens."

"Is that healthy? I mean for you both."

"Maybe, maybe not, who knows? What I do know is that after we argue it feels like we're closer somehow. Like the fight was a test of our bond or something."

"That was…deep."

A smirk formed on his face as he closed his eyes. "You're setting yourself up, y'know."

"Setting myself…" She flushed red and rolled her eyes. "You p-pervert."

Knock Knock

Hinata looked up at the door and pressed a finger to her lips. "Talk to you later?"

Sasuke nodded and raised a hand in goodbye. His image was clicked away and replaced by her lock screen image of doves. She stood up and checked the peek hole to make sure it was her cousin.

"That was more than twenty minutes Neji," Hinata accused as she narrowed her eyes.

Neji chuckled and took out his phone. "I actually took seventeen minutes, so I'm early."

"By three lousy minutes," she jabbed as she allowed him into her home.

"Lousy? Has Hanabi been rubbing off you?" Neji teased as he removed his coat and wet shoes.

Hinata smiled and quickly brought out the tea she had ready for them to drink. Her lilac eyes dropped onto his white ones.

"I'll start off by saying that dating Hideki Hokkaido is not sitting well in my books at all but you're a young adult and I can't tell you what to do anymore. So I'll give you advice because you're still my baby cousin and I love you, even if you make idiotic choices in men."

A smile formed on her face as she watched the business-like form come out of Neji. He should have gone and handled the Hyuuga business after college. His sense of pride was too large.

"Hokkaido is working with your father, so he's in mostly good graces with Hiashi. It's your mother I'm worried about. Aunt Hikari has been gone so long… How in the hell was she even released? Why did you not say anything?"

"I'm sorry Neji. She is my mother and I helped her. She isn't…like she was before. I trust her."

"You…No matter; that is not the issue. Hokkaido will have to walk on eggshells around her. He hasn't seen her since she departed. I'm not really sure how he should approach her. May I ask one thing?"

"Yes, of course cousin."

"Why did you suddenly choose him to date? I'm sure you remember the heartbreak he caused you not so long ago."

"Actually Neji, for me it was long ago. We were in high school and things were different. We were both going through things as well. Do you know of his younger sister?"

"Yes, I sent my respects to his family. Business colleagues are quite the gossipers," Neji gave a small weary smile. "Please be careful Hinata."

"I care for the person I'm with," a warm smile filled her features. "It may seem unconventional but he's good to me even if he is a stubborn pervert."

Neji stared at her for a moment before he sighed. "You love him don't you?"

Hinata's eyes snapped wide open in surprise at the comment. Her heart pounding so loud she was sure that her cousin could hear it from where he sat. She could actually feel the heat spread from her chest up into her cheeks.

"I-I...We've only…It's too soon…I-I've never…"

"Love has no sense of time dear," Neji said and looked out of the window, his eyes far away.

"Did Tenten tell you that?" Hinata moved to sit next to him, a comforting hand on his knee.

"She more like screamed it at me as she threw one of her nunchucks at me," he seemed weirdly amused and miserable at the same time.

"Tenten loves you and you love her."

"I know that and yet I can't…I feel like she'll gain some sense and reject me when I ask her."

"So ask her now, while she still hasn't found her sense yet. I'm sure she'd be the happiest girl in the world," Hinata smiled and ran a hand through his silky locks. "Just believe a little."

A side of his mouth curved upwards and he nudged her. They sat in silence, both so close but also worlds away.

"Sasuke give it back!" Hinata called to him as she reached for her glove.

"No," he deadpanned as he moved out of her reach yet again. "Apologize."

"You're taking advantage of our height difference," Hinata scolded with a determined pout.

"Of course I am," Sasuke chuckled and dangled the white glove in her face.

"C'mon you…you boy!" Hinata argued and reached one last time for her object.

"Oh, no I'm so hurt. I don't think I can ever recover from the outright disrespect," Sasuke called out dramatically and was suddenly glomped on by a messy blob of blonde hair.

"Teme! Did you forget I'm your best friend or something?" Naruto complained as he placed the male in a loose headlock.

"Actually I was hoping you had run off into the sunset with that crush of yours," Sasuke jabbed and easily removed the male's arms.

"Asshole," Naruto glared and then turned to hug his teacher. "Ms. Hyuuga your student is a jerk!"

"I agree," Hinata smiled and giggled at the betrayed look on the Uchiha's face.

"I see where your loyalties lie Hyuuga," Sasuke nodded and held up the glove. "Guess you don't want this then?"

Naruto and Hinata turned pale when Sasuke threw the item far away into the snow.

"Oh my god you really threw it away you dick!" Naruto exclaimed and shoved the male. "Here you can use mine, Ms. Hyuuga."

"I'll never forgive you. This is too much," Hinata mocked as shook her head at the Uchiha and gladly accepted the blonde's gloves. Her fingers were freezing.

"You're both morons. It's still in my hand," Sasuke chuckled and opened his fist to reveal the gloves.

"Oh well, keep them," Naruto's smile turned sly. "She has mine now."

Sasuke glared at the male and slapped him with the white glove. Naruto's face flushed and he returned the favor by tripping the male. This turned into bickering about who was going to have the last laugh.

"How can you deal with these idiots so early in the morning?" Ino asked as she caught up to walk by the female's side.

"Idiots?" Hinata tilted her head to the side.

"Yeah, I've been with these morons since diapers. There was no hope for Naruto but I always thought Sasuke was the smart one but he gladly welcomes the idiocy," Ino shook her head with a fond smile. "Sakura, stop acting like a stranger and walk faster."

Hinata turned around to see the tired face of the female as she yawned. Her green eyes were glazed and Hinata was briefly reminded of Haruka.

"This is as fast as I can go in the morning," Sakura whined as she held her both her hands out for the blonde.

"Ugh, you're incompetent," Ino muttered as she let the female climb onto her back.

Hinata smiled at the grin Sakura placed on her face and the small and yet noticeable fond smile on Ino's. Sasuke shoved at Naruto's shoulder and they both erupted into heartwarming laughter. A feeling of nostalgia filled her as she remembered what it felt like to be a high school student.

"Hinata, don't get nervous but there's going to be a visitor in your class today," Tsunade said as she saw the young woman enter the school surrounded by students.

Hinata flailed around for a moment as she caught the book in her hand that almost fell. "A visitor?"

"Yeah, some political guy is coming to examine the school. He claimed he wanted to know how the schools were doing," Tsunade nodded, her tired eyes wandering to look at each of the students' faces. "You're popular around here, aren't you Ms. Hyuuga?"

"She's known as the cool teacher with a nice rack," Anko announced as she wiped the extra snow off of her velvet jacket. The comment made the students and the principle laugh.

Hinata flushed and hid her face from the world with her hands. Anko smirked and placed an arm around the young woman's shoulders.

"Don't worry, everyone has gone through the blushing of a lifetime when with me," She said in an almost proud manner with her chest puffed up and a shit eating grin on her face.

"Who's coming?" Sasuke asked with a raised brow.

"I don't even remember his name and I've never seen his face so…Well I'm the best principle so I'm going to my office. If you see Shizune send her to me," Tsunade dismissed them all as she walked away with a raised hand.

Hinata nodded, once, to herself and then turned to Anko. "I'll be going ahead as well."

Anko smiled and nodded but held Sasuke back by pinching his ear. Hinata hesitated before leaving to her classroom with her other students following.

"Sakura, you're getting heavier by the second. Remove yourself!" Ino complained as she lifted her hand from where they supported Sakura's thighs.

The pink haired female smiled in triumph as she pressed her legs tighter around the blonde who groaned in annoyance.

"Sakura, I'm going to tell Sasuke on you!"

"Ino, I'm going to tell Sasuke on you!" Sakura mimicked with a giggle.

Naruto stood by Hinata's side and shook his head as he watched the duo. The young woman looked up at the slight blush on the male's tan face. Naruto shook his head and nudged his teacher with his shoulder.

"You still owe me and Gaara that ramen," Naruto reminded with a smile as they all entered the room.

"Sakura get the hell off of me!" Ino screeched with annoyance lacing her tone.

"Oh you're right! Can I just order you both pizzas for lunch instead?" Hinata asked with a tilt to her head.

"Never!" Sakura protested with a smirk as she tightened her hold.

Naruto nodded and pulled out his phone. "Gaara's going to be stoked! He loves pizza, even though he will never admit to it in public."

Kiba entered the room with a small frown on his face that was quickly turned into amusement at the scene before him.

Sasuke wrote the usual heading on the chalkboard, his neat handwriting running across the board. Ino spun around in circles, in a desperate tactic to be relished from Sakura's grip. Naruto chatted aimlessly over the phone, using his hands to make wide gestures. Hinata sat at her desk with her eyes closed but a smile carved into her features.

"I have two important announcements for you guys," Hinata announced to her class. Little murmurs of confusion were sent around. "It's time that we pick an idea for the class festivals. Last year's senior class focused on the traditional cafés. The next announcement is that you all have to decide with your fellow seniors where you're going for senior trip."

A wave of excitement was sent throughout the room. Sakura stood up and stuck her tongue out at Ino.

"Well since I'm class prez, I'm in charge for the class festival," She announced and held up a small notepad. "We'll write ideas here and see what people like most."

"Wow, so this is a democracy now?" Kiba asked in mock surprise and received a high five from Ino. Naruto snickered and leaned on his palm while he stared at Sakura.

Hinata smiled and wrote a countdown on the board. "You guys have seven days to decide what you want to do for the festival and fourteen days to decide where to go for the senior trip."

"Have you been out of Konoha before Ms. Hyuuga?" Sasuke asked and hid a smirk at the small blush that dusted her cheeks.

"Hmm…I've traveled quite a bit since my father is a businessman. He'd take my sister, cousin and I along with him on his trips," Hinata said, smiling at the memories of her childhood.

"What's your most memorable experience?" Ino asked as she looked at the woman with wonder filling her blue eyes.

"Well when I went to Canada during the winter, my family went snowboarding. My father, who was as strict as a parent could get, even joined us. It turns out snowboarding and I don't really get along. I might have fallen at least two thousand times," chuckles were sent around the room. "My sister was wearing a white coat and when she fell it was like her whole upper body blended in with the snow."

"Female Hyuuga!" Anko screeched in excitement as she came running down the hallway but suddenly stopped halfway and continued walking the rest of the way.

"Hello Anko-san," Hinata smiled in response.

"You studied pregnancy and shit right?" Anko asked as she looked around and unconsciously placed a hand on her stomach.

"Yes, I know the basics and…Oh my! Anko-san are…Is there someone growing inside of you?" Hinata whispered as she pointed to the woman's stomach.

Anko burst out in laughter at the young woman's reaction and patted her now rosy cheeks. "Yeah, and I just want to make sure that I don't do anything to harm the little one."

Hinata formed a smile as wide as she could and pulled the woman into her arms. "I'm glad! Pregnancy is a beautiful thing."

"Why must you lie to me Female Hyuuga? Itachi forced me and Sasuke to watch a whole documentary on it. The bastard was so happy! Like he was relishing in our pain," Anko swore as she mentally cursed the male's name.

Hinata pictured the horrified faces of both Anko and Sasuke but the completely blissful face of Itachi as they all sat in front of a laptop. A giggled escaped her lips and she inwardly died from the playful glare that the female gave her.

"Alright, yes as you were saying," Hinata tried to sober up, forcing the smile off of her face.

Anko rolled her eyes and grabbed the young woman's hand, forcing her to follow.

"Anko! You've stolen her for twenty minutes. Enough is enough," Sasuke protested as he burst open the door to the school's roof.

Hinata froze with her shirt lifted just below her bosom. She smiled at the male and batted a hand away.

"I'm almost done, don't be impatient," Hinata said as she returned her attention back on the woman.

"So he or she should be right around here?" Anko asked and moved a hand to touch the woman's toned stomach. Sasuke's eye twitched. "Whoa, you're abs are amazing."

"Thank you," Hinata smiled and was suddenly glomped on by the female.

Sasuke immediately tried to tear her off. "Anko get off! This isn't allowed!"

The woman ignored the male and whispers something in Hinata's ear. The Hyuuga gave a slow discrete nod and turned to Sasuke before both females are off running into the halls.

Sasuke runs into the principal's office, huffing and puffing. "Have…Damn. God. Have you seen Ms. Hyuuga and Ms. Mitarashi?"

Tsunade slowly spins around in her chair while she strokes Tonton. A grim smirk is on her face as she met his confused expression.

"You come to me, on this, the day of daughter's wedding…And you ask for my help," Tsunade nearly died of laughter at the expression on the Uchiha's face.

"You're with them!" Sasuke accused.

"Never hate your enemies—"

"Oh my God!"

"I know it was you Fredo—"

"That's it I'm leaving. Stop your drinking!"

Sasuke waited at the train just like he was told to and just when he was going to check the time, he was glomped on by his Hyuuga.

"Nope, we're not on speaking terms," Sasuke declared as he kept his arms away from her.

"What? C'mon Sasuke it was fun. It was like the Godfather version of Hide and Seek," Hinata giggled as she tried to grab for his hand.

"No, this is too much. We can't see each other anymore. I'm hurt," Sasuke droned as he shook his head in mock shame.

"A man, who doesn't spend time with his family, can never be a real man," Hinata quoted with a raised finger.

"Oh? So we're family Hinata?" Sasuke teased as he pinched her flushing cheeks, a pout quickly forming on her lips.

Hinata watched as the male leaned in to kiss her and her eyes started to flutter shut.

Halfway there they heard, "My oh my Hyuuga. It hurts to find my girlfriend about to kiss another male."

Hinata snapped her head over and caught the predatory look in Hideki's eyes. Sasuke was on guard and he on instinct stood in front of her.

"What do you want?" Sasuke demanded with a steady glare.

"Oh nothing, but I'm sure a certain almost blind Uchiha brother might love to hear of the news on who his beloved brother is dating," Hideki smirked.

"H-Hideki, please. Let's talk—"

"About what Hinata? That you're dating a barely even legal child? You're student. He hasn't even gotten a diploma yet, Hinata."

And just with those few words, all the insecurities of when they first started to date were brought up fresh in her mind. She just wanted to fall through a hole in the earth.
