Chapter 26

Hazel's POV

"You know I'll never be okay with the whole killing humans for their blood right?" I said as I felt the sun rise through the window, the rays hitting my hand causing me to sparkle. It was the first thing we had said to each other in hours. We didn't do anything, we didn't say anything, we just laid there.

"I know. I won't make you do anything you don't want to, I promise," he said kissing my hair. I nodded into the hollow base of his throat. We stayed silent for a few minutes, but it wasn't an unnerving type of silence, but was a blissful one.

"Why do you do it?" I asked quietly, almost scared that he'd be angry with me.

"Do what?" he murmured. I gulped before answering.

"Kill people," I said quieter than before. I felt him stiffen underneath me, he didn't answer in what felt like hours, though it was more like minutes.

"I don't know. They haven't offended me in any way or form. I suppose I've just been brought up like that. Aro didn't show any morals to humans and as Jane and I looked up to him as a father figure, I guess I was brought up to share the same views." I craned my neck upwards to get a better look at his face, which was a mixture of funnily confusion with a crease forming between his eyebrows.

"Did I offend you?" I asked worriedly. Alec met my worried gaze with wide eyes and surprise.

"No of course you didn't, it was a perfectly valid question," he said shaking his head before his gaze drifted upwards to the ceiling.

Jacob's POV

"Yo! Anyone home?" I called into what seemed like the empty house.

"Back here!" A voice called from the back room. I followed the voice into the kitchen where Paul, Jared, Seth and Sam were sat sprawled across the only four available seats.

"Dude, you need more food," Paul whined, peering inside a now empty packet of Doritos. I fought back a glare, I was saving them.

"I'd have more food if it wasn't for you jackasses helping yourselves to my food all the time," I snapped, snatching the empty bag from him. Damn, there weren't even any crumbs.

"Cool it," Sam told us, snapping us both out of our argument.

"So what's up?" I said, crunching the empty bag into a ball.

"You remember Hazel Cullen don't you?" Sam asked.

"Brunette, smoking hot, rocking body, the one Jake wanted to imprint on?" Paul said before I could get a word in edgeways.

"I did not want to imprint on her!" I protested, trying to defend myself.

"Bullshit," piped in Seth. "We all saw your little fantasy about her, you-"

"You can't blame Jake though. Since Vampire Girl's dumped his sorry ass and-"

"Enough," Sam said in his all mighty powerful Alpha voice, causing Paul to finally shut up about me and Hazel. I sighed, and slouched against the kitchen cabinet, feeling the familiar ache return when I thought of Bella.

"I was in the wood's yesterday and I'm pretty sure I saw Hazel, but not as a human. She looked like a vampire," Sam informed us.

If Hazel was a vampire, it was highly possible that the Cullens were the ones who were responsible. That not only broke the treaty we had with them, but it caused my stomach to clench at the thought of Bella in a similar state

"Aw, damn. It's always the hot ones," Paul muttered.

"I'm guessing we take action?" Seth prompted, excited with the possibility to do something for the pack.

"You got it," Sam said stiffly, as he made a swift exit through the back entrance. I followed him bracing myself for a confrontation that I wasn't yet prepared for.

Emmet's POV

"I'm sorry you let him spend the night with her?" I half shouted at Edward and Alice. They merely shrugged.

"Well, I didn't see anything wrong with it. I mean they didn't do anything," Alice said desperately.

"That's not the point!" I exploded. "He's a selfish little brat, and you let him spend the night with her. Something could have happened!" Rose and I go hunting for one night and look how out of hand things have become!

"He doesn't seem that bad..." I shot Edward a death glare, he immediately shied away. "I mean, look at his intentions. He's holding her hand! It's not that much of a despicable thing," Edward said, trying to defend himself, gesturing to the view out of the window.

Hazel was walking across one of the beams that held the structure of the house together, walking across step by step. One of her arms was outstretched, holding Alec's hand for support and guidance. He watched over her with precaution and care, precaution and care she didn't need. Hazel was more than capable of flying across that beam without assistance, she didn't need him. She was better off. She was laughing and gripping onto Alec's jacket with more force, though she didn't need the balance.

"Look she's laughing!" Alice pointed out hopefully. "That's a good thing!"

The laughing suddenly got a lot more intimate.

"Er... I guess that's a good thing too..." Edward said uneasily.

"Oh God no. No, I'm not standing for that," I almost shouted.

Hazel broke apart from him, gently pushing him away and blinked a few times. She blinked a few times before spotting me glaring at her through the window. She smiled and waved. Edward and Alice broke out into hysterical laughing, causing even Alec to smile.

The audacity of that child.

Hazel's POV

"Dracula just seems historically inaccurate now," I said sighing tossing the well used paperback onto the kitchen table with distaste. Uncle Edward chuckled, he was about to comment when a sharp ring of the doorbell interrupted. I watched his expression grow grim as the voices at the door grew louder.

"Where is she? We know you've broken the treaty," a deep voice growled.

"We haven't done anything wrong Sam. You can come and see for yourself if you really don't believe us," I heard Grandpa Carlisle reason with the angry voice. Uncle Edward stiffened and briskly walked over to stand beside me.

Four guys walked in, all of which sparked a small amount of recognition within me. I supposed they could be friendly, if it wasn't for their intimidating presence and scowls of annoyance.

"She's a vampire. It's pretty obvious. Red eyes and all," the guy at the front said gesturing to me with disgust. I blinked wondering what I had done now.

"Just listen to her," snapped an irritated voice from behind them, it sounded like Mom.

"Fine," the guy at the front snapped, I fought back a flinch. "Hazel, who turned you into a vampire? Was it anyone here?" I stared at him a few seconds, confused by his unusual question.

"Well?" snapped the guy, seeming to get more irritated within the second.

"Don't speak to her like that you jerk," Mom snapped at him.

"It was Alec. I left Forks for a couple of days and I met Alec and he turned me," I stated, wondering whether it was the answer he was looking for.

I don't think it was the answer he wanted, but it was defiantly the right one.

Aro's POV

"Heidi, I suspect you bring good news," I spoke into the mobile telephone.

"Depends on your definition of 'good'..." she said, her voice trailing off.

"Speak of your dismay child," I told her in a grave tone.

"Hazel's a vampire. Alec turned her."

I pondered on the news. It wasn't good by any standards, yet it wasn't the worst betrayals played by Alec.

"And she's Alec's mate."

That would explain why Alec deceived me. His love for her would have driven him to any lengths to protect her, even if it meant taking away her humanity.

"I think she has a power..."

It surprised me that Heidi was unsure; it sparked interest within me.

"What sort of power?" I prompted.

"I'm not sure, but I think it's hypnosis..."

Well, that defiantly sparked an interest.

"Thank you Heidi, that will be all," I said, ending the call.

I pondered on the new information.

"Caius my friend," I called out. "I believe there is something you have wanted for a long time..."

Is there something going on with the Volturi, cause that conversation seemed to be cut short by something.

Thank you for reading, I hoped you enjoyed it! Please review, I'd love to know what people think :)
