Chapter 25

Emma woke up as the sun filtered brightly through the window. She stretched, feeling deliciously sore in all the right places. She turned her head to see and smiled seeing Killian (he was no longer referred to as Hook) still asleep, his hair much more tousled that usual, which didn't surprise her after everything they did last night, and at how young he looked, his face completely relaxed.

She tilted her head back and lifted her left hand up. The diamond ring and band on her finger sparkled against the light. She sighed happily. Just about a year ago, if anyone has told her that she would reunite with her son and parents, and eventually marry Captain Hook, she would have laughed and asked if they were on drugs. Yet, here she was, with her parents and son, and very much married to Captain Hook, yes he had made that part very clear ("come for me, wife," he had growled, and it made her shiver again just remembering).

She shifted to face her husband, god, her husband. Emma reached out and ran a hand through his hair. Killian mumbled something incoherent, but continued to sleep. She scooted closer to him and kissed him. She felt him unconsciously kiss her back, and an arm snaked its way across her waist and pulled her closer towards him. When she leaned back, Killian was awake and his blue eyes were shining. Was he awake the whole time!?

"Good morning," she whispered. He smiled.

"It is indeed." He stroked her cheek, his blue eyes searched her face.

"What?"

"Yesterday wasn't a dream, was it?" She rubbed her bare leg against his and grinned.

"No, it wasn't."

"Thank God," he groaned and he rolled on top of her, showering her face in kisses before moving downward to her neck. His lips latched on to her pulse point as his hand found its way to her breast, the wedding ring on his finger cool against her heated skin, and Emma squirmed beneath him.

"Killian..." she whined burying her hands in his hair as he brushed against her core. Oh god, she just did not whine. Killian smirked up at her.

"Eager, aren't we?"

"Just fuck me!"

"Ah ah ah, Swan. I want to take my time with you. There's a difference between fucking and making love. Let me make love to you." Emma stared at him. They had certainly made love more than once last night, but him just saying it out loud made her heart beat faster.

"Pirate," she mumbled in defeat, but she was smiling.

"Aye." His hand brushed stray locks of hair from her face before cupping her cheek. "Emma..." he whispered and the he was kissing her so very softly. She dug her hands deeper into his hair as the kiss became more needier and desperate. Her phone rang suddenly, forcing the two apart. They both stared at the phone on the table hoping it would stop ringing.

"Bloody hell, Swan," Killian swore getting up, "blasted thing won't stop." He reached for his hook, preferably to stab the electronic device, but she quickly grabbed it.

"Must be important," she guessed and pressed 'accept' after seeing her father's picture on the screen. "This had better be good, Dad...what?! How?! Yeah, we'll be at Granny's in ten minutes!" She hung up the phone and stared at her husband with wide eyes.

"You're scaring me, love. What's wrong?" Emma gathered her clothes and threw Killian's at him.

"Get dressed." He grabbed her hand as she pulled up her pants.

"Not until you tell me what's going on!" She turned to him.

"Pan's in Storybrooke."

She wrenched the door to Granny's open to see everyone already inside and waiting for her.

"What the hell do you mean Pan's here? How is that possible?!" Emma immediately asked as she walked into the diner.

"Gold noticed a couple of his items missing and Regina...oh God," David glared at Killian as the others snickered behind their hands. Henry stuck his tongue out as if he was gagging.

"Told ya someone was hungry," Ruby said laughing at her.

"What?" Emma saw her mother rub at her neck and she instinctively reached up to touch hers when she realized what her mother meant.

"Dammit Killian!" She whirled to face the pirate and slapped his chest. "Why didn't you tell me I had hickeys all over my neck?!" She was in such a rush she didn't bother looking at the mirror. He raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"I actually like the way you look, sporting off all the marks I've given you, even if they're just the ones on your neck." She blushed at his implications that she had more hickeys on her body, but turned her attention back to her father who loudly cleared his throat.

"As I was saying, Regina also noticed that the scroll that contained the curse that brought us here to Storybrooke was missing."

"And what makes you so sure that Pan was behind this?" Killian asked.

"Oh this is Pan's doing all right," Gold said stepping into the diner, Belle and Regina trailing behind him. "No one else can control the Shadow, which if you haven't noticed by the way, dearie, is no longer attached to the Pirate's ship." Emma walked to the window and peered out into the docks, horrified that Gold was right, the ship no longer had a black sail.

"So, what are we going to do?" Emma folded her arms across her chest.

"Well, I might have something in my shop that may be able to stop him. A band that prevents all magic. We just have to get it on him."

"I'll keep him busy," Regina said flatly, "until you can sneak up on him and place on the restraints."

"You can't do this alone, Regina," her mother said quietly, "We're coming with you." The queen rolled her eyes, but didn't object.

"I smell him!" Granny shouted suddenly. "Ugh, and boy does he smells. Ruby, take care of the diner. Let's go!" And she dashed out the door with everyone else left to follow.

Emma stood frozen as Pan stood grinning evilly at them.

"Look at you all...a captive audience. Hard to pick who to kill first." She couldn't even gasp as Pan walked up to Neal. Emma's heartbeat quickened. "You. You first." Before he could do anything, Gold grabbed the boy and yanked him back.

"You're not doing anything to them."

"Aw, you going to protect your wittle wuved ones?" He taunted facing his son.

"I have a job to finish, and I have to do whatever it takes. No loopholes. And what needs to be done has a price, a price I am finally willing to pay." Gold turned to Neal, stating that he loved him and said the same to Belle. Emma felt her throat tighten. Why was he speaking like that….like he was going to… "You see, you may have lost your shadow, but so have I. I sent it away with something to hide." He held his hand up and they all watched as a shadow came swooping in handing the dagger to Gold. Locking Pan against him, Gold stabbed the dagger into Pan, who cried out. Immediately, the dagger began glowing brighter and brighter until they both disappeared. The spell on them was released. Pan was dead, and so was Gold. But the curse remained.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooo

There wasn't even time to mourn. "What's the price we have to pay?" Emma demanded. "Gold said there would be a price to break the curse." Regina turned to face her.

"It's not our price, it's mine. I have to say goodbye to the thing I love most." The thing Regina loves most is…

"Henry?"

"I have no choice. I can never see him again. I have to undo what I started….Storybrooke doesn't belong here and neither does any of us!"

"So breaking the curse destroys the town," her father states.

"It will wink out of existence and everyone will go back to where they're from. Prevented from ever returning."

"And Henry?" She asked tightening her grip on her son.

"He will stay here because he was born here." No!

"Alone?"

"No, you will go with him. You are the savior, born to destroy the curse and now you can escape it."

"I don't want to. We'll go back with everyone." She couldn't leave, not when she had finally found her family…. her true love….Regina's face was grim.

"That's not an option. I can't be with him or else none of this will work." A loud clap of thunder shook the air and a gust of wind flew by them.

"Emma you have to go!" her mother cried. "We have no choice." We have no choice.

"Okay," she finally whispered. Behind her, Killian bowed his head, trying to keep his heart from shattering.

ooooooooooooooooooooooo

It wasn't fair. Her whole life was nothing but goodbyes, but this one hurt especially. Emma made her way to the back of the group after she had made her goodbyes to everyone else to where Killian stood. Screw it. She ran and flung herself at him, burying her head in the crook of his neck as he easily caught her, and they held each other for a while. When she pulled back he placed his forehead on her's, his blue eyes fixed on her green eyes. They didn't need to speak, their eyes conveying what they both felt. I love you. Wait for me. Always. I love you too.

"There's not a day that will go by that I won't think of you," he finally whispered. She gave him a watery smile.

"Good." Behind them Regina cleared her throat.

"There's something I haven't told you." Emma turned and the couple stared at the Queen.

"What now?" She could see the brunette struggle for words.

"When the curse washes over us and sends us all back, nothing will be left behind. Including your memories." No memories? Not of Snow, David…. Killian? Emma let out a strangled sob and clung to him even more.

"Can't you preserve her memories?" Killian asked desperately, tightening his embrace on Emma.

"No," Regina replied sadly. "But I can give her new memories." The savior untangled herself from Killian and Regina took her hand. "I haven't given you a wedding gift yet, and I wished I had on more favorable circumstances. But my gift to you is happy memories, a good for you and henry." Her voice began to crack, "You have never given him up, you have always been together. You will have the life that you always wanted." Emma sniffed, But it won't be with Killian. "Now go, the curse will be here any minute." Killian took Emma's hand and led her to her yellow bug. He moved aside when Snow came up behind him and placed a soft kiss to Emma's forehead. And when she drew back, her eyes found her mother's.

"Mom…" she choked out. Snow smiled sadly.

"I love you," she whispered and turned back to walk away to give her and Killian the so very few precious moments they had left. Emma placed her hands on either sides of his face and drew him in for a kiss. It was soft, both wanting to savor it, knowing it would be their last in a long time. When they finally drew apart, Emma quickly turned her head away, the pain too much to bear if she saw all of their faces. Climbing into the car with Henry, she stared up the engine and the car lurched forward. She gave one last final glance to the rearview mirror as everything began to shrink away, and the curse took them all.

"Mom, why are you crying?" Emma placed a hand on her cheek, surprised to find it wet.

"I don't know," she said wiping it away. "C'mon it's time to go home."
