You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

'You're Gonna Miss This' Trace Adkins

---

Gabriella knew how high emotions were going to be during this house meeting so a little ground rules will be needed tonight. Since she was the only sane one left in the group, she would be leading the meeting.

She made her way back into the kitchen table. Sharpay was at one end with Taylor on the far other end. If they weren't fighting, Gabriella would have assumed the two were engaged in a very serious staring contest.

She took the seat across a nervous looking Kelsi. She knew something was up when she saw Kelsi biting her fingernails.

Gabriella took the rolled up newspaper found on the table and slammed it down like a judge would do in a court hearing. "Okay, house meeting called to order. We are hear to discuss," she took a sharp look at Taylor, "Not fight," she shot Sharpay a look. "Over everything that has gone done in the past weeks. And I mean everything," she stole a look at Kelsi.

Taylor spoke up first, "I want to know how in the hell you," she glared at Kelsi, "Know that, that, that thing!" She spat, not able to fully say Becca's name.

Sharpay rolled her eyes, "Leave her alone, McKessie. Kelsi hasn't done anything to you!" She said sticking up for her friend.

"Don't speak to me, Evans," Taylor snapped back.

"Don't refer to my last name, McKessie!"

"You're such a hypocrite, Evans!"

"And you're a major bitch, McKessie!"

"Look who's talking, Evans!"

"Who put a stick up your ass, McKessie?!"

"Knock it off," Gabriella yelled over the two bickering roommates. "I said we were hear to discuss not argue," she glared at both girls.

Sharpay huffed and crossed her arms.

Taylor rolled her eyes and looked in the opposite direction.

Gabriella sighed, "Fine. If you two want to act like two-year-olds, then I'll treat you like two-year-olds," she pulled stuffed bear from her lap, earning strange looks from everyone at the table.

"This," she sat the bear on the table, "Is Mr. Manners. He is a polite, respectable bear who knows that talking over someone is bad," she explained slowly to the group.

Sharpay cocked an eyebrow at the brunette.

"When someone has Mr. Manners, that means she the only one who gets to talk," she looked around the room. "Any questions?"

"Yeah, I have one," Sharpay raised her hand. "Are you off your whack?"

Gabriella sighed and shook her head. "Sharpay, are you in possession of Mr. Manners?" A head shook 'No'. "Does that mean you can talk?" She shook her head 'No' again. Gabriella smiled, "Good. You understand."

"Why, in God's Earth, are we using a plush toy to talk," Taylor gave her best friend a look.

"I use Mr. Manners with my preschoolers," she emphasized the word. "And since I am currently living with twenty-three year old preschoolers, I thought he was needed. Unless we can discuss like the adults we are, we are resorting to a stuffed bear to figure out our problems," she shook her head after listening to herself talk. Seriously, a stuffed bear?

"Fine," Sharpay clapped her hands together. "Toss him over."

"No, no, no. No way are you staring the house meeting," Taylor responded.

"What's that suppose to mean," the blonde stuck her hands on her hips and arched an eyebrow at her roommate.

"It means…."

"Guys," Gabriella shouted exasperated. "What part of 'Not having Mr. Manners' are you two not getting?"

"My dear God," Sharpay groaned. "It's a freaking toy!" She waved her arms at her friends.

Gabriella gasped. "No, it's a highly developed children's device that teaches them about having the right talking skills," she said defensively.

"It's a fucking bear," Sharpay said in a low voice.

"For that," Gabriella tossed the bear at Taylor. "You don't get start."

Sharpay's jaw dropped.

"Thank you, best friend," Taylor replied happily.

"So," Gabriella continued. "The one who has the bear is the ONLY one that gets to talk," she gave Sharpay a pointed look. "Got it?"

"Yes, Gabriella," all three voices chimed.

Gabriella smiled and looked at Taylor, "Go ahead."

"Okay," Taylor started out slowly. "I have a few questions for Kelsi."

The quite brunette swallowed.

Gabriella put up her index finger, shushing Sharpay's attempts to interrupt.

"My first question is…."

"Hold up," Sharpay piped up as the other three women groaned. "How many questions are you planning to ask there, McKessie," she raised her eyebrows.

"I don't know, Evans," Taylor responded back. "I haven't decided yet."

"Well she shouldn't get to…."

"Oh my God," Gabriella grounded out. "Fine! Taylor gets to ask one question then Kelsi gets to talk and then someone else gets the chance and so on and so forth. Jesus, how is that people who two-years old get this concept but not you," she seethed at the blonde.

"Just clearing up my questions," Sharpay snapped back.

"Hello? Bear," Taylor held up the stuffed animal. She took a breath before continuing, "As I was saying, my first question is to Kelsi," she looked at the brunette. "Why is it that you that a center that deals with fostering children was calling us today?"

Kelsi's eyes widened as Taylor whipped the bear at her.

"What," Sharpay turned to her best friend.

Kelsi wetted her lips, "Look, I was going to tell you guys but…"

"But you didn't and I found out," Taylor concluded. "Now, I want to know why."

Kelsi sighed, "You won't get it. It's a long story and I just need to do this, okay? It's something that is close to me and the way my life has sucked lately, I think this would be good for me. Caring for someone is what I've always wanted to do, especially someone with so little. I just, I just thought that it is a good idea," Kelsi gave a bogus answer.

Taylor rolled her eyes.

Gabriella sighed and gave her friend a stern look before turning to Kelsi. "Look Kels, I know this is all fine and good but this is a huge deal. You should've told us this before going off and doing it. I think we all should have a say in it."

"Excuse me, Gabriella, but this is really none of anyone's business," Kelsi shot right back at Gabriella in a very uncharacteristic way.

"Au contraire," Taylor piped in. "This is our business since we all live in this house. Just in case you forgot that," she shot back at Kelsi.

Kelsi gripped the bear tightly, still holding onto any control she had over her temper. She was always the calm one of the group and she needed to maintain that attitude. "Okay, you're right. I should have talk to you guys but I'm not dropping out. Sorry but I am not giving my spot up."

Gabriella took a deep breath, "Alright, let's just move on."

"Let's not," Taylor challenged still maintaining her glare at Kelsi.

Kelsi raised her eyes at Taylor, "Okay, I have the bear here so its' my turn to ask questions."

Sharpay gave herself a little smile. Nice to know somewhere Kelsi possessed a backbone.

Taylor lightly laughed and leaned back in her chair. She waved her hand over the table, "Do continue then."

"Why do you feel the need to dictate everyone's actions," Kelsi asked her before sliding the bear across the table.

"Score one Kels," Sharpay cheered.

"Shut up, Sharpay," Taylor gave her a hard look.

"That question is overruled," Gabriella spoke up before grasping the bear back. "It's not going to get us anywhere in this living situation."

"Oh really Gabriella," Sharpay looked at her friend in a mocking way.

"Seriously Sharpay, I am so sick and tired of you attitude," Gabriella snapped as she rubbed her eyes. "A girl can only take so many snippy comments."

"Meaning what," Sharpay asked her.

"Meaning I agree with Taylor," Gabriella looked at her friend. "I don't think this works anymore."

"What doesn't work," Kelsi asked quietly.

"Us all living together under one roof," Taylor supplied.

"Oh," Sharpay raised her eyes at her 'friends'. "What does that mean, Gabriella," she pointed the question at the brunette.

Gabriella swallowed as she looked at the blonde. She couldn't take Kelsi's defeated puppy-dog face when she said this. "Taylor and I thought....we thought it would be best......if.....if you guys moved out," she said finally.

Silence is what followed Gabriella's sudden statement. No one moved at the table. Sharpay's jaw seemed to be permanently glued to the floor while Kelsi gave Gabriella a disbelieving look, one that mirrored a look that said 'You killed my puppy?'. Taylor also managed to wipe off her smug look, something Gabriella was very grateful for.

Kelsi was the first to break it by getting out of her chair and leaving the kitchen.

Sharpay looked at her so-called friends. She could believe it. She couldn't fucking believe it. She was getting kicked out. SHE was getting kicked out. By her best friends, no less. She chuckled at the irony before turning to look at her good old pal, Gabriella.

"You, Gabriella, are a cold-hearted bitch," she said bluntly in the iciest tone ever to be heard. "Taylor, I expected but you," she shook her head. "You are worst. You also a backstabber. And a liar." Sharpay added before getting out of her chair. "I'm glad I don't have to look at both you're pathetic faces anymore," she gave them both a look of disgust before leaving the room.

Taylor watched the blonde stomp out of the room like she was three. She looked over at Gabriella's heart-broken face. She in some way saw this whole mess as her fault. "Gabi, I'm sorry. She was totally out of line."

Gabriella held up her hand, "I really don't want to talk to you right now, Taylor."

----

Kelsi stuffed some extra shirts into her bag before turning to the valuable items she kept on her dresser.

She couldn't believe they actually kicked her out. She knew they would all be a little upset with her but not this upset. Where the heck was she supposed to go?

She picked up a pink picture frame. Inside a picture of herself and Gabriella stood with the widest smiles their faces could manage. It was from the Senior Year Musical. Ryan took that picture after a long day of rehearsals.

Kelsi sighed and slammed the picture down on her desk. If only things were that easy.

A knock at the door interrupted Kelsi's quick packing. She figured it was Sharpay bitching about how much their friends sucked and how much she hated them. The funny thing was Kelsi actually agreed with Sharpay this time.

"Why don't we go eat something before finding a place to crash? I'm sure there is something opened where we can go," she rambled off quickly while turning her face to the door.

Too bad it wasn't Sharpay. It was Gabriella, looking guiltier than ever.

"Kelsi, look I'm sorry," Gabriella spoke up quickly, having second thoughts over the whole eviction idea. Maybe they should all sleep on it. "You don't have to leave right now. Stay as long as you like before you find…."

"Find what, Gabriella," Kelsi snapped as the brunette flinched at her venomous tone. "A new place to live! Another home! I had one before you decided to kick me out!"

Gabriella hastily wiped back the stray tears that managed to fall out of her brown eyes. "I know you're upset but you have to understand…."

Kelsi cut her off again, "You're right I'm upset! I can't believe I use to think you were my best friend. Who are you? What happened to the girl I met in high school? What happened to her? She would never kick out her two closest friends out of their SHARED apartment. You do know we all pay rent, right?"

"Actually, Taylor and I are paying most of the rent here. And don't go around asking what happened to me after high school," she shouted back at the brunette. "You're the one who changed! Honestly, the Kelsi I was best friends with would never even recognize you. Making rash decisions, playing Jason like a fool! How is Jason, by the way?" She asked giving her a pointed look. "Still hooking up in the store with him or are you guys fucking each other yet?" Gabriella accused her.

She knew she would have regretted those words as soon as they left her mouth. Too bad she couldn't look past her pride too take them back.

Kelsi shook her head and grabbed her bag. She had enough of this. No way would she ever spend another minute in this place with her.

Before leaving, Kelsi remembered one last thing she wanted to shared with Gabriella.

"I hate you," Kelsi told her with so much apathy in her voice, Gabriella had to look twice to make sure it was her curly head friend she was talking to.

Yeah, it was her.

"I do too," Gabriella responded coolly as she watched the brunette leave the small apartment.

---

"Well," Sharpay stood at the door, clapping her hands against her thighs. "It's been swell! Nice to see what seven years of friendship has gone to," she said to the two girls.

"Have a good life, Sharpay," Taylor nodded at the blonde.

"Go suck an egg, McKessie."

"Dude," Troy started as he snapped his cell phone shut. "You'll never guess what just happened."

All four boys decided it was a good time of a boy's night. No girls, no baby drama, just their old friendship bonds. Complete with every Jessica Alba movie ever made, unlimited amount of beer, and enough cheeseburgers to feed an army.

"What," Chad questioned as he finished off the last bit of his drink. "Anyone want anymore," he asked as he opened the fridge.

"Toss me one," Zeke called as he caught a dark color bottle. "Thanks man."

Chad nodded and turned to Troy, "So what happened?"

Troy shrugged his shoulders. "I guess Sharpay and Kelsi, and Gabriella and Taylor aren't friends anymore," he said simply.

Jason let out a dry laugh. He saw Troy's grave face and abruptly stopped, "Wait. You're serious?"

"Gabi just said that you two," he pointed at Jason and Zeke, "Shouldn't come over the apartment looking for Kels or Sharpay since they don't live there anymore."

Zeke looked at Troy, "You can't be serious. Those four aren't friends anymore? When the hell did this all go down," he asked, looking around.

"Tonight," Troy guessed as he ran a hand through his hair. "Oh also, Gabriella is pissed at me," he groaned before slamming his head on the countertop.

Chad looked on in amusement, "Aw. Poor baby," he pouted.

Troy looked up, "Oh yeah. Taylor also knows about Becca," he told his bushy-haired friend as he watched all the color drain from his face. He placed both hands over his friend's broad shoulders, "Good luck with that one, buddy!"

Chad pushed him off, "Yeah, yeah."

"So," Jason tried to recap. "The girl's split up, Sharpay and Kelsi don't live in the apartment, Taylor knows about Becca, and Gabriella isn't talking to Troy," he spoke slowly, trying to get it all sorted in his head.

Zeke took a swing from his bottle, "That about sums it up."

"Okay," Jason nodded his head. "Then where the hell was I during all this?"

"You and me both, man," Troy added on as he took a bite out of his burger.

Chad raised his hand, "Yeah, I have a question. Where the hell are Kelsi and Sharpay gonna crash?"

Zeke broke the silence before letting out a dry chuckle, "Good question."

A/N:

Told you I'd update quick! Haha, I hope everyone enjoys these chapters. I have to say this is probably one of my favorite chapter's I've written just because it adds onto the story more. Yes, I told you all about what would happen between the four best friends and I've been planning this for awhile. I was planning on adding this to the last chapter but it was too long to add onto so it is its own little chapter.

So, there you go after fours months of no chapters and in about one day, you get two! Hope this tells everyone that I am trying to get this story back on track and I am dedicated to giving to a good story. And thank you to the reviews I gotten so quickly after I updated! You guys are amazing.

So, I have about one more chapter left before putting up a mini 'epilogue' which will then start us to the next part of the story. Confusing, no? Basically the last chapter will finally put all the major storylines up and out. Then the 'epilogue' will just be the conclusion to the first part of this story. Then I will start writing the second part. Give about a two week span between the two parts just to clear my head and then start posting, I hope. That is my plan and I hope I will be able to stick to it.

Okay, I am going to bed. Night all!
