As they walked home from the library Elena's thoughts were still on Ivy, thinking about how much she hated her. She needed a nice peaceful night with Stefan to calm her down, so that's what she was going to get.
"Can we just order take out tonight and lay in bed?" Elena asked as they entered their front door.
"Actually, I have plans tonight." Stefan replied, making Elena look at him surprised. It's not that he had to let her know whenever he had plans, but he usually did. And besides, their plans always included each other. Elena didn't expect him to spend every second with her, but it just made her curious about what his plans are.
"Oh, okay. With who?" Elena asked, begging him not to say Ivy. Please say Klaus, please say Klaus, she thought to herself.
"Ivy." He told her. Fuck. Elena tried not to let her irrational jealousy get the better of her but all she wanted to do was scream.
"What are you gonna be doing?" Elena questioned, hating the fact that she sounded so jealous and insecure right now. Stefan looked at her curiously, she was asking a lot of questions.
"We're just gonna grab a few drinks, take a break from all this studying." Stefan replied. He didn't think seeing Ivy would be a problem, Elena didn't particularly like her but she was his friend.
Elena bit her lip to try stop the words from coming out of her mouth. Ivy must be planning to make a move tonight, and why would Stefan go get drinks with her? She hated feeling so jealous, but at least she knew she had a reason to be jealous. Ivy wanted Stefan, and she didn't like that. Not one bit.
"Can't you just stay in with me tonight?" Elena asked, hoping he would say yes and they could just spend all night cuddling.
"Elena, I already made these plans. Is there something wrong?" Stefan questioned.
"Well you can cancel plans." Elena lightly laughed, feeling herself become more angry. She knew she had no reason to be angry, Stefan didn't know that Ivy was going to make a move, but she couldn't help it.
"Elena what's wrong?" Stefan asked, feeling worried. He didn't like knowing that something is bothering Elena, especially when that something is him.
"I just don't want you to go out with her." Elena admitted, looking away from him.
"Why?" Stefan furrowed his eyebrows at her.
"Because she likes you Stefan!" Elena snapped, feeling frustrated at him even though it wasn't his fault.
"Elena come on, she doesn't. We're just friends." Stefan denied her claim.
"She does! Caroline overheard her talking to her friend, she's planning to make a move on you." Elena told him, making Stefan feel confused. Ivy really wouldn't plan to make a move on him, would she?
"She wouldn't do that, she knows I'm with you." Stefan told her. He could understand why Elena was upset, but she didn't need to feel jealous. Elena is the one he's in love with.
"Why are you defending her? Don't you trust what I say!" Elena cried out. She couldn't see why he didn't want to cancel and stay at home with her.
"Of course I do, I just don't think you need to worry." Stefan replied, feeling a bit frustrated.
"I do need to worry Stefan! You're going to have drinks with someone who is into you." Elena shouted, feeling herself become more angry.
"Don't you trust me Elena?" Stefan asked, getting more annoyed.
"Of course I do, I just don't trust her not to make a move on you whilst you're drunk and confused. Please, don't go out with her." Elena almost begged, hating how desperate she sounded.
"I would never ask you not to go out with Aaron, you don't have a right to do that to me." Stefan shouted and now Elena's anger was at boiling point.
"That's not the fucking same Stefan! Aaron is my friend, who has a girlfriend, and who doesn't like me. This is a girl who is clearly into you, and wants to be with you. What would you do if you knew Aaron was into me and I was going out with him?" Elena asked, reversing the roles. She knew she was overreacting, but she also had gotten past the point of caring.
"Don't, don't do that Elena." Stefan warned, he did not want to get into an Aaron debate right now. Even though he was the one who started it.
"You wouldn't like it would you? Now you know how I feel!" She shouted, proud of herself for getting her point across.
"Well, I'm going out with her and I know she's not going to make a move." Stefan replied, grabbing his jacket and then walking out of the door, slamming it on the way out. Elena stood there, speechless. She couldn't believe that he had actually just walked out on her, she was so angry right now. She walked into her bedroom and she heard the front door open, she hoped it was Stefan but her hopes were crushed when she heard Caroline's voice.
She sat on her bed and tried to calm herself down, but everyone who knew Elena knew that once she got this angry, there was no coming back until she went on a path of destruction. She paced around the room, trying to calm her down but it didn't work. It did the exact opposite actually.
Elena threw a bedside lamp onto the floor, one that belonged to Stefan. She ignored the smash as she continued destroying their room, the mirror was the next to go. The room was beginning to look like a scrap yard when Caroline ran in, confusion written on her face. All it took was one look from Caroline to make Elena burst into tears and fall on the floor, not caring about the fact that blood was trickling down her now cut legs. Caroline ran over to her and wrapped her arms around her, careful to avoid the glass.
It took Elena 20 minutes to calm down, once her sobs reduced to sniffles Caroline stood up, bringing Elena with her. They walked into the living room and Klaus was no where in sight, which made Elena relieved. She didn't exactly want her friends boyfriend witnessing one of her worst breakdowns.
"What happened?" Caroline asked. The last time she saw Elena have a break down this bad was after her aunts murder trial, it must be something bad.
"It's stupid, but me and Stefan had a fight. He was going out with Ivy so I told him about what you over heard, we started arguing and he walked out. I just got so angry, and you know I never handle my anger well." Elena spoke and Caroline nodded. She felt pretty damn annoyed at Stefan right now, but she knew it wasn't her place to get involved.
"Come on, I'll make you some tea."

"Are you okay Stefan? You've barely touched your drink." Ivy asked him, stroking his arm. All night Stefan had noticed things about Ivy that he hadn't before, like how she touched him every chance she got and she would always giggle at him. Maybe Elena was right? God he was so stupid, so stupid. He hated that he walked out on Elena, it was the worst thing he could have done in that moment.
"I'm fine." He replied. He would rather be anywhere else but here.
"It's Elena isn't it? She's making you feel like this, you're better off without her." Ivy spoke and Stefan looked at her like she had just told him she murdered his brother.
"Why the fuck do you think you have a right to say that?" Stefan asked, growing annoyed. He was not better off without Elena, she made him want to be better. He should have just stayed in with her, they'd be cuddling whilst watching some stupid documentary right now.
"Come on Stefan, we'd be so good together. Much better than you and Elena." Ivy whined and in this moment Stefan hated her, how could he had ever been friends with her.
"No one is better than Elena, she is the love of my life." He replied. He wanted to smile when he thought about her, she really was the best thing to happen to him.
"I can make you change your mind." Ivy giggled and then leaned in and kissed him. The kiss ended as soon as it started, as Stefan pulled away and stood up.
"Don't ever try something like that again, and if you think we're still friends then you're wrong." Stefan spoke out in disgust and then walked out of the bar. He needed Elena, he needed to tell her how sorry he was.
Elena was sat on the couch, watching the door. She was waiting for him, she needed him. She needed to be in his arms, but she also needed to let him know how angry she was at him.
The sound of the door unlocking made Elena's head snap up. He walked through the door and their eyes instantly met, making them both so relieved. Elena was so glad that he was here, that he came back to her.
"You were right. Ivy tried to make a move on me." Stefan spoke and Elena felt her stomach drop. What did she do to her Stefan?
"What happened?" Elena asked, even though she was dreading his answer.
"She tried to kiss me, I told her to leave me the hell alone." Stefan replied and Elena sighed out of her relief. Not that she would never not trust Stefan.
"I love you." Elena cried and ran into his arms. "I hate arguing with you, I hate it so much." She spoke as she nuzzled her head into his neck.
"I know, I hate it too. But you're the one I love, you're the one I want. I could never be with someone else, you're it for me. Forever." Stefan spoke and Elena silently cried. She didn't realise how much she needed this confirmation until he said it.
"You're it for me too Stefan, I love you so much. I want to start a life with you." Elena replied, feeling Stefan's arm tighten.
"I'm sorry for walking out on you, I'm sorry for meeting her in the first place. I should have listened to you, I'll always listen to you." Stefan promised, and Elena knew he would keep it.
"I know you will. I know that. Come on, let's go to bed." Elena replied. They didn't stop kissing, not even as they walked into their room and not even as they got undressed. They didn't kiss in a sexual way, more in a loving way. It was like they were pouring their emotions out through their kisses.
These past few weeks, both of them had been jealous. But they now realised they no longer had a reason to be jealous, they were both so in love with each other. They would never leave each other, especially not for other people, so they no longer had to worry. In a way, both of them were thankful that this happened. It just made them realise that their love was stronger than petty jealousy, they were stronger than that.
They spent the rest of the night just kissing until they fell asleep, and it was the perfect way to end a pretty shitty day.

Elena woke up to see Stefan frowning at her, which made her feel confused. He looked downwards and her eyes followed his, and she realised why he was frowning. He saw the marks where the glass had cut her when she fell to the floor. Somehow, Stefan didn't see how trashed the room was last night. He was too busy wrapped up in her. It just made him feel even more guilty, he caused her to become so angry and she accidentally hurt herself. It was his fault.
"Don't you dare blame yourself Stefan." Elena spoke, and he marvelled at how well she knew him. "Whenever I get angry, I just blow up. It's not your fault that I cant control my anger." Elena sighed. She hated how angry she could become sometimes, it was really her biggest downfall.
"But it is my fault that you were angry, I was so stupid." Stefan replied, beating himself up.
"We've already spoken about this, it's not your fault Stefan. I love you." Elena caressed his cheek, reassuring him that it was okay.
"I'm so lucky, I love you so much. It's not right that people don't get to love someone as much as I love you, everyone should feel as lucky as I am." Stefan spoke his thoughts out loud and Elena found herself melting. Sometimes it was overwhelming to have someone love you this much, but in a good way.
"Well, just be glad that you get to feel like this. And I feel the same, I love you so much." Elena smiled and he returned it. Suddenly Elena's stomach growled, ruining the romantic mood and making them both laugh.
"I better go make you some breakfast." Stefan teased and Elena lightly blushed.
"In bed right?" She asked and Stefan turned to smirk at her. As soon as he left the room she fell back onto her pillow, smiling to herself. If she wasn't the luckiest girl in the world, she was damn close to it.
A/N: A lot happened in this update, and I didn't like all of it, but I felt like I needed to write it. I wrote Stefan and Elena as perfect up until now so I needed to show that they aren't perfect, they're just madly in love. I noticed my chapters haven't been as long recently, so I'm sorry about that. I'm gonna try make the next few chapters longer.
