Also was listening to Tiki's theme, while doing this.

Uhh...

Enjoy?

Chapter 25: The Voice of Naga

Hey first plans on improving a resistance force, have some famous figure guide them!

"Sheesh that tree is huge!" Lissa yelled out,

That's my problem, it's a tree. Looks like our magic will be limited here. Fire and lightning are out of the question, wind can force the branches to block paths. Damn!

"Grim I believe we can't have any fire tomes, we cannot hurt such the sacred shrine within," Say'ri pointed out,

I nodded at our problem.

"So what's the plan kiddo?" Basillio asked,

There has to be so many guards at that tree!

"Basillio, you and Flavia will create a diversion at the roots to draw out them out while the rest of us Shepherds come in and rescue lady Tiki," were my instructions.

"Well oaf you heard the girl," Flavia smiled,

I looked at our battle ready group and smiled.

We definitely got this!

...

...

...

Too many branches going upward!

"Grim you sure you don't want a pegasus?" chuckled Chrom,

I glared at him and glared even more at the tree.

"I wanna burn it," I muttered,

"M-Mother we can't do that!" Lucina gasped,

I was kidding!

"Luce seriously you gotta catch on our tones," sighed Marc, "Mother was joking, right?"

Oh great my two kids think I'm serious!

"Yes I was," I grumbled,

"Mother seems so cranky," my future daughter pointed out,

"Well she can't use her tomes that's why," was Chrom's reason,

Damn right! The worse part we left most of our wind tomes back at the docks! Dammit Vaike is never gonna do item check ever again!

I sighed as the Shepherds easily mowed their way through the guards. Kellam blocking out arrows. Noire and Virion taking potshots at the enemy. Robin and Stahl covering their sides.

Enemy forces are mostly foot soldiers and a couple of fliers. I don't see any calvary. Position wise I'm sure their calvary will give us a hard time but they're the ones defending.

"Marc with me," I told them, "Lucina stand by your father,"

My family nodded at our positions and the battle continued on.

...

"You little pint size punks think you're tough?"

Oh great more of these fighters? Berserkers? I dunno!

"Incoming foe!" Marc pointed out,

I clutched my steel sword tightly and glared at the soldier.

"I don't think I'm tough, I know I am," I smirked,

I do have the advantage speed wise.

He quickly fell for me taunt and was charging head on, axe at hand. Sheesh everyone's short tempered or something?

When he brought it down, Marc and I quickly rolled to the sides and the next thing he knows swords were felt on his back.

Before he could respond or react I quickly shove him downhill. I didn't pay attention to his screams as he fell from the mighty tree.

"Shessh mother that was quite brutal," Marc grimaced,

"Marc I fight to survive, not to win," I told him,

"What's the difference?" he asked,

I went on a lecture but I'll try to summarize it up. In battle there are no rules, just you and your opponent. You must always assume he is better than you in some field or sorts. You must look for any weakpoints from the opponent's movement. See them limping or breathing heavily, you must always exploit it in some way. Never fight fair, always have the advantage. If you have to run then run, if you have to trick then trick, if you have to lie then lie.

"Woah never thought it like that," Marc gasped at my lecture,

"As tacticians we must see the best and long term solutions," I recited, "Even if it means sacrifices,"

"Mother no one ever died in your watch, so that last term isn't valid right?" Marc said,

He does have a point. Still I saw that last phase in a different light.

"I wasn't talking about them Marc, I would never let anyone sacrifice themselves," I told me,

"Then who?"

He's such a curious child. I simply adore that side of his!

"You'll understand when you're older," I ruffled his hair,

...

As we move up we realized there were some mages!

Oh gods they got fire tomes!

Damn!

"Fire away!"

Then their mages started to burn the branches around me and Marc! Damn!

Luckily for us though the other Shepherds are already pushing foward. However if my side fails then the rest of us could get flank. Nobody will flank us besides ourselves! Wait, I mean we can flank them but we will not get flank! Double standards for crying out loud!

"These guys are desperate!" Marc glared at them,

I searched for our usual fliers and them seemed busy with their own aerial battles. Sumia and Frederick were easily dominating their falcon knights. Cordelia seemed on keen keeping the ground units distracted through harassment. Cherche was letting Minerva roar around the enemy soldiers.

So I wonder who can potentially save us.

"Aunt Grim we got you!"

Looking up at the skies I see two manakate dragons swatting the mages away with their clawed wings. We cheered them on until I realized the fire getting closer.

"Uh Nah, Nowi hurry!" I cried out,

The two dragons quickly snatched us and the branches we previously stood on collapsed. Perfect timing alright.

"Thanks Nah I owe you," Marc sighed,

"Thanks a bunch Nowi," I patted my friend,

"W-Well you know we could always go somewhere just the two of us," Nah replied,

Why are there so many girls after my son?!

"C'mon Nah no time to play around!" Nowi scolded,

Ha irony!

"Look we could worry about this later," I told everyone, "Looks like Chrom and Say'ri are battling that general!"

Wait a minute, that general doesn't have a helmet. Oh gods that's a gigantic mustache and beard! He looks familiar.

"Eww so much hair is coming out of his face!" Nowi gagged,

I only nodded.

...

Landing besides Chrom and Say'ri, I couldn't help but ask some questions. "Where's Lucina and what in gods name is that?"

"Lady Lucina is aiding your brother, milady," Say'ri replied,

"Stop calling me that!" I whined,

"Thiat man is called Cervantes, he is one of Walhart's finest generals," Chrom answered,

"Did he do that prideful introduction thing?" I wondered,

Chrom nodded at my question. I glanced at Marc who flew back to another front.

"How dare you ignore me!" Cervantes glared at us,

Hey I wonder if I could put a monocle and make him look like a sophisticated gentleman or something. Oh if you see this man's mustache and beard then you would so agree with me!

"Well looks like we got some shaving to do!" I grinned,

"This mustache led me to countless victories, this one shall be mine as well!" the general shouted,

"Until today," Chrom smirked, "Ready Grim?"

"Always!"

...

"My whiskers are safe against you lot!"

Did Cervantes smirked at us? That beard is eating his face!

"Victory is inevitable!"

Wasn't this guy the one that thought he's invincible with his stache or something? Wow if he wasn't much of a villain and a comedic relief, I bet he would fit nicely to the Shepherds. Too bad.

"Yeah for us!" I retorted to his war calls,

He was enrages and charged on, despite his heavy armor.

Ohmigods that's a close dodge from that spear of his!

Situation wise we have the advantage, tactically we have the disadvantage. We drove off or killed most of the guard, so we outnumber him, yet Chrom, Say'ri and I were the ones facing him. Spear beats sword out of any range. Plus we can't risk ourselves from using magic in this sacred tree. Then there's the part where Cervantes' armor is just nigh invincible.

"Say'ri keep him busy!" I told the princess,

Sheesh that woman is fast! Say'ri was making quick strikes around Cervantes' armor. It seemed to only irritate him more.

"Stay still you!" he growled,

"Nay!" Say'ri replied,

"My beard will best all of you!" the general mocked us,

My eye twitched from the comment. I looked at Chrom, who seemed to be expecting a plan from me. Examining our battlefield, I noticed some of these large branches are vulnerable. I got an idea.

"Say'ri follow us!" I instructed,

She quickly obliged and tactically withdrew from the fight.

We were luring the mustached man until I realized a sweet spot. I grinned and told Chrom to stay where he is, while I'm across from him. Chrom moved himself out of the way as Say'ri went through, Cervantes followed suit.

"We have you surrounded, General Cervantes!" Say'ri pointed her blade,

"Do you not see Say'ri, fate is on my side!" he smirked,

Both Chrom and I narrowed down our eyes.

"It is decreed by my beard!" he bragged,

Oh that does it!

"Say'ri jump to me!" I quickly told her,

Then Chrom and I sliced off some really thin branches. Let's just say that idiot Cervantes never noticed he positioned himself into a foolish spot. He was standing upon some really weak branches. Of course he started to fall from a really tall height. The last thing we heard was Cervantes' curses and screams.

"Amazing as always my love!" Chrom grinned and blushed,

"D-Don't call me that!" I blushed,

Well looks like this place is now ours! Wait what's this place called again? I swear this tree had a name or something.

"The Mila Tree is ours!" Say'ri announced with a relieved face,

Oh, that's the name!

...

...

...

Sheesh these stairs take forever!

"Too many stairs!" gasped Lissa,

I agree!

Say'ri was leading the way up to the tree. Yup apparently there's like a little house or shrine at the very top, where Tiki's supposed to live.

I glanced at an anxious Robin and Lucina. They seemed worried, too worried than before. Maybe it has to do with Grima's blood within us. I squeezed both their arms.

"M-Mother..." Lucina sighed,

Robin stayed deathly silent and was staring outside.

"You don't want to see her?" I asked,

"Too many memories of that girl, I never felt comfortable with her around me," he replied with a grim look,

Must be the she's-the-direct-daughter-of-Naga thing.

"She'll sense our dark power," he told me,

Nodding at my brother, I grant him permission to not go with us. Lucina still looked hesitant but she followed for our sake. She's a good girl.

"Finally ground!" Lissa smiled and fell,

It looked like she was trying to hug the ground or something. Giggling at the sight, I glanced at Frederick's ever stern look.

"Milady this place is very afar from the ground," the great knight pointed out the obvious,

"So how's everything with Sumia?" I asked,

"I feel like the luckiest man in the world, milady," Frederick gave out a genuine smile, "And your marriage with milord?"

He's one of those guys with a usual frown on his handsome face, but when he smiles it's an entirely different story! Pretty sure he caused plenty of heartbreaks when Sumia became his wife. Gotta answer his question too!

"I would never trade anything to give it up, I would give everything to keep it intact," I smiled,

Well if you can't tell, Frederick and I, despite the rocky start, have a strong sibling like relation. Just like how he was the older brother to Chrom and Lissa, he finally gives me the same treatment.

"I see," he nodded,

The two of us swatch as Chrom, Lucina and Say'ri meet up with Tiki. Woah she is very beautiful! That long dark green hair, her young mature body and that permanent sleepy look on her face, makes her looks cute and beautiful. Jeez she's got the looks, women would die for!

"Hey mother, Uncle Frederick!" Marc approached us,

"Hey/Hello Marc," were out responses,

Wait how did he get here so fast?

"Nah brought me here and she wanted to meet Lady Tiki too, so yeah!" he grinned,

Oh godsdammit! Why did I get a flier to do that for me.

"C'mon mother, tacticians always pick the easiest route right?" he smirked,

Why that little-

"Mar-Mar!"

Looking at the others, it looked like Tiki mistook Lucina for a very famous king. Lucina is not the exact mirror of Marth, blame my nose, but I know someone who does! I told Marc to stay where he was while Frederick followed me.

"Lucy mind if I borrow your headband?" I asked,

Hehe this should be fun!

"Sure mother, what do you need it for?" my daughter wondered,

My only reply was a giggle. I could feel Tiki's curious gaze right at me.

"Lady Tiki this is my wife Grim," Chrom introduced me,

I nodded and felt so insignificant compared to her. She approached me with a holy feel

"You have power like mine," were her famous words,

I only looked away and clutched my marked hand ever so tightly. I'm not dealing with that mysterious scene! Time to make it funny!

"Well Tiki, there's someone I would love for you to meet!" I grinned, "You've met me daughter Lucina already but it's my second child, my son!"

I gestured Marc to come over.

"Hey nice to meet you, Lady Tiki? Or should I just be casual and call you Tiki?" Marc smiled,

It looked like Tiki was seeing a ghost. While they were distracted I snuck behind Marc and quickly place the headband on top of his head!

"What the? Mom?"

Three. Two. One.

"Mar-Mar!"

Her sleepy face looked so excited, like a child getting their favorite candy. Suddenly Tiki was snuggling Marc, into her chest. I was shocked by her actions. Wow men would be really jealous of Marc right now, his face was literary in Tiki's chest! Marc was swinging his arms as a sign of suffocation. Meanwhile everyone else looked so surprised by the exchange.

"M-Milady!" Say'ri blushed,

"Interesting," Frederick raised a brow,

"Woah!" a fascinated Lissa gasped,

Of course there's the one respond from an overprotective sister.

"Please let go of my brother," Lucina requested,

She looked so conflicted on pulling the older manakete away or pummel her for touching Marc.

"Oh my apologies," Tiki blushed, "Are you alright Mar-Mar?"

"M-Mar-Mar?!" blushed Marc,

Oh I see a future couple!

"His name is Marc not our ancestor Lady Tiki!" Lucina pouted,

"Then you're Mar-Mar two!" Tiki's eyes shined,

Lucina facepalmed while Marc looked nervous. Oh just remove the 'c' then we got 'Mar', at least the nickname makes sense.

Turning around I realized the future kids, especially the girls, where shocked on what just happened.

"Marc never blushes when I flirt with him," sighed Severa,

"So that's his type," Kjelle nonchalantly mentioned,

"He really is into older women huh?" Nah chuckled,

Finally they're off his back! I think.

"Mar-Mar I hope to see you soon enough," Tiki smiled,

Looking at my flustered son, who really looked like Marth with the headband, I clutched his arm.

"M-Mom!" he whined, "Why'd you do that!"

I wonder how much he will believe me.

"I want grandkids!" I grinned,

Lucina made some choking noise and looked even more surprised.

"M-Mother!" she gasped,

My two kids were arguing and complaining while I hold my laughter back. Sheesh these two are so gullible and adorable! I felt a hand ruffling my fair and my back leaning on a broad chest.

"Alright love enough teasing the children," Chrom breathed towards my ear,

Why is Chrom doing this in front of the kids?! I could see Marc's victorious smirk while Lucina blushed,

My face heated up and now I looked so shy again.

"C'mon Grim why so quiet now?" teased Chrom,

I felt his lips on my cheek and both Lucina and I blushed even more.

"Marc don't look!" Lucina cried out,

"Hey I'm not that young anymore Lucy!" he retorted,

"Apologize to the kids love," Chrom told me,

"Sorry kids I was just messing with you," I muttered back,

"Mom dad got you whipped," Marc snickered,

Well at least someone got my snarky remarks.

Back to serious topics!

"So Chrom what did Tiki want?" I asked,

"She gave me Azure," he showed a shiny blue jewel,

Azure? Wait what?

"Mother don't tell you don't know the five jewels required for the Fire Emblem?" Lucina groaned,

"Also known as the Shield of Sealing," Marc added,

Oh wait that's why it's called Fire Emblem?! Some legendary weapons or objects?! Wow, now it makes a lot more sense now.

"I thought you read our world's history at the royal library," said Chrom,

"I guess I skipped that part, whoops!" I grinned,

"I will give you an explanation milady," Tiki approached us,

So Naga's daughter started to tell me there are different kinds of Fire Emblem, referring to powerful artifacts. They were all used by both heroes and villains and many wars happened because of them.

"Just like the previous war with Plegia," I muttered while Chrom nodded,

Then there's the part where it were a seal or symbol or sorts. I was only interested at the part it was a weapon, sorry.

"Ok I get it now, thanks Tiki," I smiled,

"Still this is supposed common knowledge milady, why do you not know?" she asked me,

Uhh...

"She has a serious case of amnesia Lady Tiki," Chrom saved me, "There's no signs of recovery, but the tales her brother told me I hope she doesn't remember,"

Hey I'm standing right here!

"I see," the old manakete nodded, "I must be on my way, I have matters to attend to,"

We all said our byes and started to descend the long stairs.

"Oh Mar-Mar!" Tiki swooned and waved,

"Y-Yeah?" a nervous Marc asked,

Tiki gave him a flying kiss and reentered her home. Lucina looked like she was seeping off steam while Marc looked lovestruck.

...

...

...

"So what now?"

Everyone was looking at me expecting something.

"Say'ri any nearby forts we could take over or anything?" I asked the local,

"Aye a fort of such exist," she nodded,

She went on an exposition about Walhart's forces. The main army has been split into three parts. One is led by the conqueror himself, in his castle at the north. The other is led is led by Say'ri's brother, who enforces the southern regions. The leftovers guard the main trade route for both forces, and is between the two.

"So those guys are guarding that fort?" I asked with a raised eyebrow,

"Aye, however I do not believe we have sufficient manpower to take the fort," Say'ri grimace,

"But we clobbered one of Walhart's generals!" Lissa pointed out,

"Aye but Yen'fay and Walhart's strengths are beyond the realm of man and his forces are outnumbering as they are powerful. All of Walhart's armies believe in him," Say'ri told us,

"Sounds like a challenge," smirked Robin,

"While Tiki is gathering and recruiting resistance I say let's get some new Shepherds!" I announced,

"Of course Lucina's companions are here as well, perhaps they are assisting their own groups," Chom nodded,

"As we recruit our future children we may also get more resistance fighters for the cause," Frederick realized, "Then I may meet my daughter soon!"

Oh great he's loud, again!

"And my son!" Lissa grinned,

Everyone seemed to be agreeing to our plan but I was still worried about the main armies just meeting us.

"No worries girl, let me and Flavia be the distractions!" Basilio grinned,

"Indeed we will take care of patrols and avoid the main armies," Flavia added her thoughts,

So that just leaves the main fortification throughout the country, I can deal with that.

"Looks like Feroxi warriors will handle the main roads and cover our flanks," Robin summarized,

"The resistance will keep the main armies at bay, plus we have taken out one of the main points," Say'ri smiled, "It should give us a breather!"

Uh so many people talking, I can't even think like this! I was drowning out their conversations and realized we're in a war again. Not some skirmishes, not some tournament, none of those at all. Shaking my head I am fully aware it's going to just keep getting harder. At the same time I know we will all get stronger as well.

"Grim say the word and we'll depart," Chrom offered,

Luckily for me we're all in this together. Friends, family, love ones they're all here with me. We all have people waiting for us back at home. I know Lucy is waiting for me and I worry a lot about her. Looking up the setting skies, I smiled at everyone.

"Milady there is a nearby temple being persecuted by Walhart's forces, disguised as bandits!" Say'ri described,

Wait a minutes this sounds familiar.

"Brady is there mother!" Lucina's eyes widened, "H-He is not much a fighter but an excellent healer and of course a good friend, we have to save him mother!"

Oh right him!

"Don't worry dear, we will," I smiled,

Looking towards Chrom with serious eyes, he only nodded in return.

"Shepherds double time!"

And the marching begins.

END AN: Oh jeez it looks like you guys know what the next chapter is!

So the next set of children are coming up!

Well I got Spring Break next week and I only go to classes Mondays and Wednesdays so...

GASP!

At least I know what chapters I'm going to do know...

Oh and Olivia yeah I already decided on how's going to be her hubby, determining Inigo's father at the same time! I can't wait for his chapter, but alas it's not the next one.

Tiki's scene with Marc, yeah...

I guess it was kinda foreshadowed back when Marc described his type of girl...

Oh well...

Been playing my Sims 3 and my boredom was so much I decided to make Chrom and a family. It's him, Sumia, Lucina, Cynthia and baby Lucina, whom I called Lucy. I made a male Robin as well and I kinda made him get random sims pregnant...

...

Yeah and I called all his kids Morgan.

I also made Cherche, Cordelia, Tharja and Olivia live in one household...

Yeah that can only end well...besides Olivia being a shy performer, Tharja a fortune teller, Cherche as a chef and Cordelia as a doctor. It could be a sitcom.

Why am I off topic?!

Maybe I just wanted to vent that out but man I had some really funny moments.

Uhh enjoy your day/night!
