Back on Earth

Third person's POV

Once Lizzy and Cat had stepped through that portal, they found themselves back in Cat's living room, Cat's phone in her hand, Cat wearing her 'I'm not getting drunk, I'm getting awesome' pjs, and Lizzy wearing her Hello Kitty pjs. The two girls looked at each other.

"Wha... what just happened?" Cat asked. Lizzy frowned.

"I don't know." She looked as confused as Cat felt.

"I feel as though there's something really important I have to remember, but I can't remember what it is." Lizzy nodded, apparently feeling the same way. Grabbing a notebook, Cat scribbled something down in it, passed it to Lizzy, who also wrote something. Neither of the girls had any idea what they wrote. Lizzy then dropped the notebook as Cat's phone chimed. Cat looked down and saw that Charlie had texted Cat again. The text said 'Coolies. Thanks! So what are u and L up 2? xxx'. Lizzy grinned at Cat.

"Ooh, is your boyfriend texting you?" She teased. Cat glared at her.

"No. Charlie is not my boyfriend. I don't have one!" Lizzy smirked.

"But you will soon, if I have anything to do with it." She plonked herself down onto one of Cat's beanbags, and Cat sitting down next to her, the best friends resumed their sleepover.

Unknown to them, the two girls' memories had been erased. They had no recollection of what had happened to them in Middle-Earth. They carried on with their lives just as they had been before, and were happy. But they often felt as though something was missing from their lives. However, they soon forgot about that.

Their lives continued for another year, a blissful year. Their final year. They carried on hating LOTR, though not quite as much as they had before, but their friends couldn't tell any difference. Their band was a great success, and Lizzy finally got Cat and Charlie to go out on a date, even though it was only the one. Their life was the same as it had been before they went to Middle-Earth.

One beautiful day, the girls were on their way to school. Lounging around in the bus, Lizzy dug around in her school bag for a snack. Finding none, she slumped back against her seat.

"What?" Cat asked.

"I don't have any food." Lizzy pouted as Cat rolled her eyes.

"Let me have a look." Cat grabbed her bag off the floor and looked in it. "Nope, don't think so. But... what's this?" Cat brought a notebook out of her bag. "I haven't seen this notebook for ages! It must have fallen into my bag or something." She flicked through it, stopping on a page with writing. Cat read it, and went deathly pale.

"Cat? Are you alright?" Lizzy asked, peering over Cat's shoulder at the page. Lizzy read the first half of the page, which looked like it was written in a foreign language. Lizzy couldn't understand it. She skipped to the second half of the page, and when she had read it, she also went pale. She remembered.

The two girls came out of their trance a few minutes later. Cat looked at her best friend.

"Did you..." Lizzy nodded.

"I remember." The girls smiled, and that was the last thing they remembered from Earth.

The bus crash was in the papers the following day. Two people had been killed; Elizabeth Jacobs and Catherine Joyner.

Disclaimer: I don't own LOTR, Cat's notebook, the bus or the paper.

So, what did you think? What's gonna happen? Stay tuned to find out! Please R&R, and the next chapter should (hopefully) be up soon! Ciao!
