That cliffy was evil! I know, but you it!

Jasper POV from beginning of day to the attack, and after the attack!

I sighed deeply as Bella was dragged away from me by my sisters. It felt empty when she was not around. Trey and I walked out to my shack. There hasn't been enough time for me to move all of my things into my new room. There never seems to be enough hours in the day, even without sleep. I gave him some clothes and he dressed at vampire speed.

"You really love her, don't you?" He asked once he was finished. I smiled at him.

"More than even I comprehend." I whispered. Trey smiled and when he did so, he looked like the spitting image of Bella. It was amazing to me that our children look so much like us in different ways. "Trey, may I ask you something?" He looked at me with his bright blue eyes.

"Sure." He said sitting down on the couch in the living room. I sat across from him in one of the chairs. I sensed he was feeling a little apprehension so I worked some calm into the mixture.

"What do you think of me? Will you allow me to be your father?" I asked after a long pause. I felt my own nerves rising and sent out more calming pheromones into the room. Trey laughed and ran a hand through his shaggy mahogany hair.

"Of course; you're my Dad. I don't blame you for not being there, you had no idea we even existed. It would be unfair to you to not give you the chance to do the things a father does." He smiled towards me and I felt relief come over my being. "I think you're a really nice guy. I know that Mom was hurt after she came home from Italy, but whatever happened there is in the past. I don't get the feeling that you would ever hurt her and I trust you. I know about all of it; her entire life story; and I think you were the one for her after all. You're kind of a mystery to me still. I want to get to know you better; maybe we can have a father-son day?" He suggested with a smile. I couldn't help the grin that came over my face.

"I would love that. I want to get to know you better too." I could almost feel the excitement coming out in my voice.

"Then it sounds like a plan, Dad." After all this time that I have been a vampire, my heart has never felt anything like it did in that moment. It felt like it sprang back alive and was pumping blood madly through my body. It felt like a warm sensation came over me and a huge smile sprawled across my face. I hugged Trey tightly and ruffled his hair as we headed back to the main house.

After waiting in the living room for the ladies, we finally heard the sound of heels coming down the stairs. All of them looked very beautiful and had surges of confidence pumping through them. Jade; my daughter looked the most beautiful. I felt a surge of pride for having Jade and Trey as my children. Alice made her way down the stairs behind Jade and my heart felt a small twinge of pain. The love that was once there will never be again. She smiled a small sad smile towards me and I responded by sending her a rush of happiness. Even if she cheated on me, I would always care for her. As Desiree came down the stairs, Trey felt undeniable love. I was happy that my son could be happy even if she was a wolf. Bella was the last down the stairs; oh my, did she look stunning. I couldn't help but to smile cheekily at her.

The ride to school was peaceful. Most people were still getting ready and some were barely waking up. The school was nearly empty when we arrived. James and Bella went into the office to get their official paperwork done. I sighed and rolled on my heels impatiently waiting for Bella to return. Alice danced over to me happily.

"When are you going to drop the question?" She asked giddily. I smiled joyfully.

"I'm not sure yet, but soon." Alice laughed and leaned onto my shoulder. "What about you? When are you renewing your vows next?" I asked playfully lifting an eyebrow at her. Alice giggled.

"Next month." She smiled over at Edward and he grinned back at her. I could feel the amount of love pulsating through them. Alice leapt into his arms as the others came out; they were truly meant for one another. Bella and I had homeroom together which I was happy about.

We sat in the very last row together. I could feel the curiosity and natural lust the students had for Bella. I grimaced and tried to ignore the thought of snarling. Mrs. Jones came into the room and immediately began to lecture about how important writing skills are. I would nudge Bella when Mrs. Jones would look our way. Bella was absorbed in her own world while looking out of the window at the rain. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. How did I get so lucky?

"Miss. Cullen, would you like to join us here back on planet Earth?" Mrs. Jones voice brought Bella out of her thoughts. She looked adorably apologetic towards Mrs. Jones and I couldn't help but snicker. She elbowed me in the ribs and I feigned hurt. She smiled softly at me and once Mrs. Jones turned her back to us, she poked her tongue out at her like a child. It had to have been one of the funniest things I had ever seen; a grown vampire poking their tongue out at a human teacher. The loud ring of the bell signaled that class was over.

I walked Bella to her drama class and headed towards my history class with Mr. McCaskey. It was horribly boring. I took a seat in the back of the room, naturally trying to avoid human contact. A girl with short blonde hair and clear blue eyes had enough nerve to sit next to me. I distracted myself from the scent of her blood. I have gotten so much stronger, but everyone still has their weak moments. She smelled so delicious; ignore it Jasper, ignore it. I heard Bella's voice in my head which was soothing. The burn in my throat cooled.

"Hi." She said quietly. I looked over at her and her cheeks turned a light pink color. I felt like I knew her from somewhere by how familiar she seemed. "I'm Adrian Vasquez."

"Hello, I'm Jasper Hale." I said politely. Her normal pale color returned to her face.

"I know." Mr. McCaskey slapped his ruler to his desk demanding that the class quieted down as he lectured.

"Today we will be discussing the Confederate War!" I immediately perked up, thus making the class excited. "Jasper Whitlock was the youngest General in the Confederate Army. He was mighty and brave, which kept his troops strong for a long time." I smiled proudly for a moment and Adrian smirked faintly next to me. "He disappeared sometime during the night. The theories include him abandoning his post or he was killed by the North. Who believes that he is a coward for leaving?" Mr. McCaskey was pushing closely to my nerves. More than half of the class raised their hands. I hissed sharply. "Would you like to inform us about something, Mr. Hale?" Mr. McCaskey asked in a nearly sneering tone.

"Actually, I would." I stood up with nerve and walked to the front of the classroom. "General Whitlock didn't disappear; he was held as a prisoner of war. There were several reports on it." I said sharply. Some of the class leaned forward as if I was drawing them in. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. "The reports also conclude that he died in his cell from Malaria." Take away the l and the a; and you get Maria. I thought bitterly as I took my seat. Mr. McCaskey didn't argue my point and moved onto the next subject. The bell rang not long after and I left the class hurriedly to see my Bella. Jade waited for my outside of the class. I greeted her with a smile. "How are you enjoying your classes?" I asked looking at her.

"They're boring." She sighed with an eye roll. I laughed and patted her shoulder. "What about you? Isn't this the thousandth time you've gone to high school?"

"Close." I laughed as we continued walking. Jade smiled at me and it felt amazing knowing she was starting to accept me as her father. We headed towards our usual table. Everyone else was already there except for James and Bella. I could tell that they were on the way. I sat across from Jade. I could see Bella and James slowly strolling to the table from the soda machine.

"I heard your little speech in history." Emmett smirked, looking at me. "Was it about how to chitty chitty bang bang?" He let out a booming laugh. I threw a spoon from Jade's plate at him. Emmett caught it in his hand and bent it awkwardly. The table was in giggles when James and Bella arrived. Bella took a seat next to me. I scanned her emotions and she was feeling happy and excited.

"I got the part of Juliet." Bella said quietly. She was perfect for the role. I smiled lovingly at her. I'm so proud of my beautiful Bella. I heard the inaudible gasp come from Alice. Her golden orbs were filled with panic while Edward growled. "What's wrong?" Bella asked, concern lacing her voice.

The girl from history was walking by our table. Adrian tripped suddenly and fell flat onto her face. The smell hit me like a truck; it was mouthwatering. My eyes shifted black as the burn inside of my throat ignited. The monster inside of me came alive as my throat caught on fire. The dry burning sensation filled me. I hissed harshly and ambushed Adrian. Drink, Drink, Drink, Drink! The monster inside of me shouted. I heard Adrian scream out of terror. Don't do this Jasper! Bella will hate you! My conscience was putting up a decent fight. Blood oozed from an open gash on her forehead. I could feel a hand on my shoulder, pushing me off of her. I looked up and saw it was my love. Drink! Dammit, do anything to get the blood! My monster screamed at me.

"Calm down Jazz. Think of her as a person, not as food." Must get blood! My monster took control. I swiped Bella off of her feet in one swift motion with my leg. I hit her in the gut with my foot to shove her away from me as she landed on the ground. She slid across the floor and crashed into a table. Look what you've done! My conscience finally broke the monster down. I dropped the girl from my hands and I extended a hand to her. She took it hesitantly.

"Get out of here." I murmured in shame. Adrian ran out of the cafeteria as quickly as she could muster. Jade and Trey were hovering over Bella in a protective stance. Edward, Alice, James, and Victoria fled to her as well. I am a monster. I ran out of the cafeteria as fast as I could without exposing myself further. I am a monster.
