Authors Notes: I hope this chapter is less of a bore for you all. Shows a bit of Gatekeeper awesomeness...and sadness

My Love

Chapter 26

Memories.

Eve slowly looked around the room. It was just a bath house with four people doing what people normally do while bathing. One of the girls looked up from washing herself and saw Eve. The smile left the girls face. She reached up and grabbed Eve and pulled her into the water.

"I told you I didn't want you in here with us! Your cursed! Everyone who sees you dies!" The girl shoved Eve under water and pulled her back out. She was scared now she wanted her Papa. She cried out for him but he didn't come.

"Papa won't come, he doesn't want you either! Why do you think he's never came to see you, talked to you, not even once!" The girl shoved Eve into the stone steps as she tried to run out. The fall wasn't what hurt, it was the crack her arm took to the corner of the step. She felt her arm snap in two. She screamed as loud as her lungs would allow.

She continued to scream as she sat up in bed. She hadn't ever had such a dream with so much vividness. She felt someones arms around her as she was pulled back down onto the chest.

"Hey…everythings alright now. It was just a dream, I'm here no ones going to hurt you." It was her father. She had taken to sleeping in her own bed again after her father got sick. She had nursed him back to health for a few days now but she found herself very tired, and collapsed on her bed.

"I'm sorry I didn't think I was that loud." Eve sat up straightening her covers and going into her own personal bathroom. The Doctor could tell she was rather embarrassed at the commotion she just got finished doing.

"Its alright Eve…I have bad dreams like that too." It was the face Eve was making when she walked out of the bathroom with her tooth brush in hand.

"I…don't think it was a dream…" She whispered looking back at her tooth brush which was a little worse for wear. She threw it into the trash and went back into her bathroom where a new one waited.

"You think it was a memory? Do you think it was hers…or yours?"

"Mine, a girl with dark hair and almond eyes called me by name."

"Your name or the other name?"

"Eve…she called me Eve." Eve said and started to brush her teeth.

"Do you think its time we went back there?" The Doctor asked Eve stopped brushing her teeth and looked down at the water swirling in the sink. She wished she could fall in and just get lost in the twirling mess till it drown her in the bottom.

"I don't think I belong there. They don't want me there at all." Eve said and put down her tooth brush.

"Eve…they're family." The Doctor said leaning against the wall. Eves hearts flip flopped and she looked up just as the special phone rang. Normally when that phone rang it was someone special. Or worse…someone in trouble.

The Doctor walked over to the red phone on the wall and answered it.

"Yes this is the…" He stopped to listen to the frantic voice over the line.

"Papa they're coming…Cybermen…two ships landed in the garden. They've broken the barriers. We can't stop them, we've done all we can. We need you." That voice didn't sound like the girl in her dream perhaps it was the other girl…or perhaps…someone younger?

Eve stood up pulling off her nighty and walked over to the closet to pull on black pants and a dark blue shirt.

"Come on then…I may not want to go back, but they're asking for help and helping people is what we've always done." Eve pulled on her black jacket to hide her wings from view.

"Alright then…if that's what you want." The Doctor walked toward the console room.

"Come what may…I'll get back into this TARDIS…I'll come home to you." Eve said almost convincing herself that this decision didn't mean this place was going to be her home. Almost as if she had to convince him that she wasn't ever going to leave him.

"I love you Eve…no matter what they say about me. That necklace around your neck says so. Keep it with you." He said as he set the location and the TARDIS began its wheezing sound. A few seconds later the Doctor was peeking out the door to see his wife's mansion up in flames. He could hear cybermen laser fire in the garden. Eve peeked over her fathers shoulder and noticed them chasing a young man around the garden.

"Papa look!" Eve called out and ran forward.

"Eve no!" Truth be told Eve did it on instinct. She had no idea why she began to run to this boy. She didn't realize what was going on till it was too late. She jumped spreading her wings as a balance and grabbed the cybermans gun from him and hitting his head clean off with it. When she looked down at the boy it only dawned on her that this…girl…had burnt hair and hardly any clothing on anymore. It looked as if the night dress she had on had caught fire and she tore some of it off to stop it from spreading.

"Eve?" The words were so small and innocent. The dream didn't have this little girl in it at all. "You found me…"

"Breezy!" A male voice yelled from the tree line. A very tall dark haired boy ran from the trees holding a rather large stick. Eve picked the girl called Breezy up and held her in her jacket so the boy didn't see her half naked.

"Arrow!" Breezy called and pointed at the girl carrying her. He stopped in his tracks to see Eve.

"You!" A girl behind her growled. It was her…the girl who was mean to her in her dream. "I thought I told you never to come back here ever!" The girl reached up to grab Eves hair but an arm came from the smoke and grabbed the girls arm and pulled her away from Eve.

"She isn't to be touched is that understood?" The Doctor growled out and looked at Breezy. "Are you hurt?" He asked the girl who was coughing just a bit probably from all the smoke tickling her throat.

"No Papa I'm alright just a bit burned and smoky." Her voice was very small and squeaky.

"You're barely touching a year old kitten." The Doctor chuckled running his hand over her head.

"Now can anyone tell me what happened?"

"Well its alright Deedaro was able to blow up there ships using the weapons mom left behind…gardens going to be a mess for a little while. There were only 6 left after that. I think the one Eve took out was the last…I hope." Arrow said standing straight as if giving off a military report. The Doctor rolled his eyes and then looked up at Eve who didn't seem like she wanted to be there longer then she had to.

"Now…who can tell me…why everyone is shunning Eve?"

"She's a Gatekeeper father. You told us they aren't to be touched…they're a bad species, and would sooner kill you then want to be your friend. So I kept our siblings away from Eve. She's a bad person isn't she?"

"Ava she's not a bad person…she saved me."

"Probably wanted to use you to get to us or something." Ava looked at Eve and growled. "Now if you don't mind…give her back or I'll pull your arm off."

Eve put Breezy down and looked up at another set that came out of the woods. The boy who must have been Deedaro was covered in soot. The girl next to him was trying to use her sleeve to wipe it off.

"Dizzy stop it! I'm fine." Although he had a smile on his face. They looked a lot alike. Perhaps twins.

"Are you going to stay now?" Breezy asked. Eve looked down at the youngest. She shook her head.

"They don't want me here Bre…they don't feel safe with me around. That's the last thing I want for them to feel is afraid of me. Aren't you afraid of me?" Eve asked kneeling down to look her in the eyes.

"No…your my big sister. The one who comes every time I call for help." She said this with the biggest smile Eve had ever seen when someone knew exactly what she was…and didn't care about it.

Eve felt her heart sing for a moment. She wanted to cry so hard, this little girl…oh those words. How could those words come from someone so small.

"She's a demon Breezy! You don't need to be around her." Ava grabbed Breezy's arm and pulled her toward a secondary building that seemed to be alright…seemed.

"Bye…" Breezy waved at Eve blowing her a kiss. Eve found herself following suit. Her hearts latched down on that little girl who words rang so lovingly in her hearts…it was a sad word but it wasn't a promise. She'd see that little girl again soon. She knew it.

"Come on Eve…lets get back." The Doctor smiled down at Eve feeling that tight feeling in his own chest too. He wanted Breezy to stay…but his life was dangerous and he trusted Eve to jump and run to Breezy whenever she called.
