Enterprise, Bridge-
"Lt. Uhura hail Gertan's ship." Captain Kirk demanded taking one last look at his First Officer and a girl he now considered a little sister.
"Yes Captain." Uhura did as told, hoping beyond reason that this plan worked.
The screen was black and fuzzy before once more focusing on the old Sher'Mec. A brief look of surprise crossed his wrinkled features as he noted the human female with the Aruzul bracelet was standing between the Captain and the half-Vulcan. This was not what he had expected, of course as he looked through human history he had found they have a tendency to rebel against those who would tame them but once he had the stone they would fall easily.
"Captain, I asked for the female to be placed on the transporter pad, not brought to the bridge." Gertan finally spoke.
"I can't make that decision for her." Kirk looked at Seraphina, "It has to be her choice."
"What say you small human female? Will you come to me willingly or would you have me kill everyone on that ship?" Gertan addressed her.
"I'll-" Seraphina was interrupted.
"You will not leave." Spock grabbed onto her arm, no emotion on his face to the untrained eye.
"I won't have anyone else die for me." She laid a hand on his cheek before reaching up on her tip toes to give him one last sweet kiss, the bridge was silent.
"I cannot let you go." Spock refused to take his eyes off of her.
"Mr. Spock she made her choice," Kirk stood up from his chair, seeing as Spock still refused to let go of Seraphina, "Restrain Commander Spock, please."
A group of four security team guards walked forward and lunged at the Commander, making sure there was no skin to skin contact and gripping onto his tightly as he started to fight against them. Seraphina turned away from the scene, taking a good long look at the Sher'Mec who would kill her once he had her.
"Cadet Jones, if you'll follow me." Another Lt. one Seraphina hadn't got the chance to properly meet gestured to the turbo lift.
"A wise decision." Gertan commented before the doors closed on Seraphina and the Lt.
"You ready for this?" He asked her as they started going down.
"As ready as I'll ever be." She tried giving him a smile but it came out as a grimace.
"Scotty, will you please transport Cadet Jones onto the other ship?" The Lt. asked once they were in the transporter room.
"If I have too." Scotty answered and then guided Seraphina onto the middle pad.
"Ready?" The Lt. asked both Scotty and Seraphina.
"Ready." They both replied after check over a few more things.
"Captain, Cadet Jones is ready to be transported." Scotty called to the Captain.
"Send…send her over." Kirk's voice sounded miserable, he looked up at Gertan seemingly angry and defeated.
In the transporter room Seraphina was engulfed by a bright light as her atoms began to swirl around.
Gertan's ship-
Master had done it! They had the female! Master would have the bracelet briefly and then Master would conquer the universe. He would enslave all those inferior races, with faithful Jixi at his side. Jixi waited in the small brightly lit transporter room as the human female began to materialize before him. She was gripping onto herself tightly looking terrified, her eyes widened slightly as she caught sight of Jixi.
There was a large pink blob before her with two equally large blue eyes and that was all she could see of his face, the rest was covered by the brown headdress he wore. He was not what she had been expecting. The creature moved to her and before he could grab her arm she pulled away.
"Don't touch me." She spit out angrily with a bit of fear in her tone.
"This way." Jixi replied as he turned around and led her out of the room.
Seraphina followed behind him, eyes scanning every bit of the ship that they passed. She couldn't forget what she needed to do. The directions Spock had given her went over and over in her head, she would reach out to him but their connection was muted by what she guessed was the Sher'Mec and his abilities. He was trying to separate them. Instead of fighting against him in her head she let it happen, she was on a mission and she just needed to protect this one part of her mind, just these thoughts. She needed to seem complacent and scared, she needed let him believe he had the upper hand.
"Master, Jixi had brought the human female." Jixi stated as they entered the bridge, this ship was much tinier then the enterprise but it had a great deal of advanced weaponry that Gertan had clearly installed himself.
"Good, now prepare to fire upon the Enterprise." Gertan ordered getting up from his seat and getting closer to Seraphina.
"What? But you said-" Seraphina looked every bit devastated.
"I lied you stupid human. Your race is far more pathetic then I believed it to be." He snarled at her.
"Master the Enterprise has left." Jixi responded, tracking their warp trial.
"Never mind," He waved his hand in the hair dismissively not taking his eyes off of the human female, "They will die after I have control of the Aruzul bracelet."
"So what's your big plan then? Kill me, get the bracelet, and then what?" She asked in a shaky voice.
"Once I have the bracelet the universe will bow down to me. With the Aruzul stone I will be able to manipulate the minds of anyone and everyone. Even your precious half-Vulcan." Gertan spit out.
"You can't use mind control on a Vulcan." Seraphina spoke up quietly.
"I can and I will. Vulcan's believe themselves to be so superior, they are near extinction! I will see them all bend the knee to me." Gertan faced the screen looking out to the stars.
"You can't use mind control on an entire universe!" Seraphina sounded hysterical.
"I won't need too. Once I've got the Klingon's and the Human's under my control the rest of the races will follow." Gertan sounded so self-assured, Seraphina had to repress a shiver.
"The Klingons?" She gasped and started pacing around the room.
"I have made contact with them, they accepted me as an ally the dumb beasts, and once I get to their planet with the stone they will bend to my will. Through them I will be able to conquer all." Gertan's laugh was raspy and broken.
"So that's how you're going to do it? Use the Klingons?" Seraphina stopped and leaned against the table, near Jixi, she covered her face with her hands and with neither of them watching her she pressed a button on a new watch she had just acquired before transporting.
"Jixi chart our course to the nearest Klingon outpost." Gertan demanded.
"Like that's ever going to happen." Seraphina straightened up, arms dropping to her sides.
"You are more stupid-" He began
"I think you should stop yourself right there, and take note who is really the idiot here. Did you really think they would just had me and the bracelet over?" Seraphina asked him.
"They did." Gertan growled out.
"Not really." Before he could reach her she ripped the phaser off of Jixi and shot a whole in their weapons system, then her body was enveloped in a bright white light once more.
Enterprise-
When Seraphina opened her eyes next she was being pulled off her feet into a tight hug. She didn't need to open her eyes to know just who it was. The small arms and the bone crushed hold was enough to give it away. If not the squeal sure did.
"I hate you! How could you do that without telling me?" Agatha demanded as she held onto her sister, basically swinging her in the air.
"Aggie, I can't breathe." Seraphina was actually struggling for air.
"Don't kill her." Kirk's voice sounded from behind Seraphina.
"Let me look her over." Bones was also behind her and she could hear his tricorder making all sorts of noises as Agatha let her go and he ran it over her from head to toe.
'You are alright?' Spock's voice washed over her mind with cool concern.
'I'm fine Spock, they didn't touch me.' She looked over at him, the relief evident to her in his features.
"Okay she's all here. Perfectly healthy." Bones gruffed out, he hadn't been too fond of this plan either.
"What did you see? What did he say?" Kirk asked turning into Captain once more.
"The ship looks like any lower class vessel but he's completely upgraded it with advanced weaponry, I'm talking things Starfleet isn't even cleared to use." She told them, while sharing the memories with Spock once she grabbed his hand, "He's made an ally out of the Klingon's too. I don't know how but he did, and once he has the bracelet that's they first place he plans to go. In fact he tried setting course to the nearest Klingon outpost. He plans on using the mind control on them first and after them, humans because of the Federation and Starfleet and then he'll use both to take over the rest of the universe."
"Shit." Kirk ran his hand through his hair.
"How close are we?" She asked no one in particular.
"Less than 24 hours from New Vulcan." Sulu answered from his station.
"We've got to have a talk with command. Now." Kirk ordered, leading the way from Spock and Seraphina as they headed to the conference room to make the call on a private and secure line Spock had set up.
Once they had finished explaining the situation to Admiral Pike, he questioned them on the matter severely. They were able to contact him through a line that Spock had set up for the Admiral specifically for times such as these.
"Are you sure New Vulcan is your best choice? Bringing a Sher'Mec who has no qualms with killing innocent people to get what he wants." Pike pointed out.
"Yes, however just as on Betazed it will be difficult for the Sher'Mec to attempt to hide among so many Vulcan's, also New Vulcan is on high alert, they are monitoring their boards." Spock responded.
"And the Vulcan High Council is in agreement with this?" Pike asked, he didn't really believe anyone could get those stubborn men and women to agree to anything that wasn't their idea in the first place.
"They are." Spock didn't see the need to elaborate that his father, Ambassador Sarek and the High Council were not in complete agreement, many disagreed however T'Pau's vote silenced the matter.
"Okay, well if this Gertan guy is anything like the other power hungry psycho's I've dealt with before he's going to be done hiding and as soon as he gets to New Vulcan he will come for Cadet Jones." Pike let out a heavy sigh, "Stay safe."
"We're trying." Kirk answered before cutting off the communication. "Damn you got lucky Spock, that plan could have gone so horribly wrong." Kirk shook his head and closed his eyes for a moment, showing just how drained he was by the whole event.
"I knew there was a-" Spock was ready to launch into a whole spiel on percentages and logic but Seraphina who was also coming down from the adrenaline and now exhausted, stopped him.
"Spock, I'm ready to crash. Can you take me back to my quarters?" Seraphina noted Kirk's grateful look, as she turned to Spock and let out a big yawn.
"Of course, excuse us Captain." Spock helped Seraphina and up and then escorted her to her quarters in silence.
After Seraphina was safely tucked away in bed she reached out for Spock, not wanting him to leave her. She had been so afraid today, when she was on that ship. Sure she'd been able to put on a brave face and even taunt the psycho, which upon further review may or may not have been a good idea. But now, now she was tired and scared and wished for nothing more than this to be over.
'I will never truly leave you Ashayam, we shall always be connected.' His words resonated deep within her as he took her hand.
'I know but, please just stay with me tonight?' He had refused this request before on the grounds that her sister was in the room right next door and they were not bonded yet.
'I could not depart even if the Captain demanded it.' Spock responded before he pull away to strip out of his uniform before lying in bed next to her.
