Clary pulled up into her driveway, suprised to see who was there.
Simon stood on the door step, half turned towards her truck.
Clary unbuckled her seat belt and slipped out, walking toward Simon.
She hadn't seen since that whole thing with Jace and the Lightwoods.
She hadn't seen anyone since that except Jace which hadn't ended well.
She was nervous to see him.
Everyone seemed to be upset with her and she wouldn't be very surprised if he found a way to be mad at her too.
But she was also kind of glad he was here.
She hadn't said anything to a person except, "Thank you" or "I'd like a cheese burger and fries."
It was nice to speak two someone longer than two sentences that didn't end up in a slaughter.
"What are you doing here?" Clary asked when she was about five feet away from him.
Simon smiled a crooked smile that reminded her of Jace's crooked smile, but they were totally different.
Simon's smile was geeky and "I'm trying to act like I can do this right", but he made it work.
Jace's was full of Casanovaness. Nothing geeky about it. Anyone who was even almost as good looking as him could pull it off, but if you compared them Jace would stand out like a red pillow in a room full of white.
"I wanted to come see my friend." Simon said shoving his hands into his pockets, hiss thumbs hooking into them.
Clary raised her eyebrows. "I count as a friend?" She asked.
She knew they had broken up, but she wondered if they had still stayed friends. She doubted it. After seeing them together after the break up she didn't think therewas any chance on even being on any relatively good terms.
"They don't get to dictate who my friends are. And besides we're not the randest terms now so... I decided to come here. We haven't hung out in a while."
"Well, a lot of things have happened Simon." She said.
He shook his head. No.
"Clary, life is shit. And right now everything else is too but," He said putting his hands on my shoulders . "Why don't we put it all behind us and let our hair down. Well, except me cause I can't. My hair's to short.
Clary smiled and nodded.
She wanted to let her hair down so she could get some fresh air. Cause as Simon said, life is shit. And she had enough.
"Cool. Get in." Simon said motioning to his rusty old truck.
Clary's brows furrowed. "Where are we going?"
Simon smiled.
"A magical place of fun and madness. Aka a beach."
