Olympic Games Pt1
(Riku)
I yawned for what seemed like the hundredth time. It was almost six in the morning, everyone who has signed up and registered for the Olympic Games were to wait in the schools gummi hangar. King Mickey was to meet us and bring us to The Olympic Colosseum. King Mickey was running a little late, thirty minutes to be exact. we were scheduled to depart at 5:30 but I guess that wasn't happening.
We all stood here hanging around by the huge gummi ship that was able to fit two hundred passengers. It was a light blue and the wings were a darker blue. It looked very similar to an airplane. Except it was wider and had a herringbone pattern.
I look around, seeing who else has been signed up for the games. I wasn't too worried about my components, I know that kind of sounded conceited but I've been practicing and training hard for the games, so I'm confident to say that I'm ready for the games.
"I wonder where King Mickey is!" Roxas asked, he had an earbud in one ear and a coffee in his right hand and a tea in his left. He looked around with his dark blue eyes, completely alert and awake.
"How are you this awake!?" Sora drawled through a loud yawn, his eyes were half opened and is hunched over.
"Coffee." Roxas replied, holding up his coffee. "You should try it."
Sora cringes. "Yuck! No thanks!"
I notice Sora is still in his pjs and an over-sized sweatshirt.
"Who's the tea for?" I ask, nodding my head towards his left hand.
Roxas held up the tea and Axel appeared behind him as fast as he held up the tea.
"Thank you, Roxy!" Axel said, taking the tea from him and taking a long drink from it.
Roxas nodded and watched him carefully, I noticed the dark grey circles under his eyes too.
"Did you stay up late last night? How much homework did you have?" Roxas asked.
"Not much actually! I just couldn't sleep!" Axel growled, taking another sip from his tea.
"That smells good." Jessie appears, stepping besides Axel and taking the tea from him and sampling it.
I looked away, I know that Axel and Jessie are good friends but I still felt jealous.
I can't make it too obvious or Jessie will kick my ass.
"Me either." Tidus said, coming over to us. His hair was disheveled and there were multiple lines under his eyes.
"Are you registered for the games?" Aqua asked sipping her tea.
Tidus shakes his head. "I'm off to the gym to practice, I just wanted to wish you all luck."
He seemed off. His voice was shaky.
"Are you alright? You seem tense." I said.
"Me?" Tidus blinked. "No, no, I just...need to get going." He waved at us and hurried out of the hangar bumping into Xehanort on his way out.
"HEY! WATCH WERE YOU'RE GOING!" Xehanort barked. He looked as dirty and greasy as usual.
The sight of him made me cringe. He didn't intimidate me, he grossed me out.
"I can't wait for the games!" I feel Jessie's arms around me.
"Me too. I wonder who we're ranked to fight." I say, taking her hands in mine.
"Who does the rankings? King Mickey?" Jessie asks.
"No, a short red goat-pig man named 'Phill.'"
"Careful, his temper is as short as him." Sora adds with another yawn.
"Sorry I'm late fellas!" King Mickey hurries over to us, his cheeks flushed, in his hands was a square key that I assumed were to the gummi ship. And in his other hand was a bag of cubed cheese. "Forgive me! I forgot my breakfast!"
"That's what took you so long!?" Xehanort growled.
"Oh shut it, a mouse has got to eat too." Vanitas replied rolling his eyes.
I swore I saw Ari smile.
Mickey cleared his throat.
"Well fella's lets get this show on the road!"
(Roxas)
We've landed in the Olympus Coliseum two hours later. It was funny, when ever I imagined what this world looked like I'd just see a huge Colosseum with colossal pillars, it turns out that there were dozens of little villages around the Colosseum. Sora tells us that the Olympic games are super huge here in this world. which means that tomorrow when we fight, we're going to have a big audience.
I don't know why but the thought of fighting in front of a huge crowd made me nervous. Yeah sure, during my days in twilight town I'd compete in The Struggle with my friends, but I don't know. This just felt different to me. I had a feeling the crowds here would be louder and bigger.
"YO! ROXAS!" A loud shout caused me to jump out of my seat. I look to my right side to see Axel's bright green ones staring at me curiously.
"Bro, we can get off the ship now!"
I blink. "Right! Sorry, I was daydreaming." I mutter.
"Really now?"
I roll my eyes and collect my things before getting off the ship.
I notice Sora instantly in the middle of everyone as he was explaining everything about the world.
He didn't know it but he could be such a show off.
"Did you guys all know that Phil has you train by destroying barrels!?" Sora announced. He crossed his arms behind his head as a cheesy grin spreed across his face. "I was able to take down fifty in thirty seconds!"
I noticed Riku roll his eyes.
Jessie wrapped her arm around him and leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Are we going to get to our rooms now? We're all tired, Sora!" Riku said, rolling his eyes again. "You can brag to us about your adventures tomorrow!"
"Bragging!? I'm not bragging!" Sora protested.
"Riku made a good point Sora! It's time everyone rests up! Tomorrow's a big day!"
I felt my heart skip a beat when King Mickey mentioned tomorrow. Why was I so nervous about tomorrow? It's not like I've ever fought in front of a crowed before!
"ROXAS!?"
I jump once again as Axel pulls me out of my thoughts.
"I'm sorry, what!?" I look up at him.
He raises an eyebrow at me.
"Are you alright? You're super blonde today!"
I roll my eyes. "Roxas, that's my hair color."
"Yeah, but you're acting blonde! You're acting more like Sora than Roxas today."
"I'm just tired." I lie, focusing my eyes ahead of us.
We follow King Mickey through a touristy section of the world where visitors stay and rent out houses in the village.
"Roxas..." Axel says, nudging my arm. "I know you, I can tell when you're off."
I sigh. "It's nothing."
"Roxaaaasss..."
I wasn't winning this argument, I never did with Axel.
"Alright, fine. This may sound stupid but I'm afraid of fighting in front of a large crowed tomorrow!" I whisper.
I could have sworn that he was going to laugh at me but instead he puts his arm around my shoulders and offers me a kind smile.
"Think of it this way, you're much braver than all of them for getting out there and fighting monsters."
(Kairi)
I don't know what it was with me but my stomach has been super off today. I was feeling nauseous all morning. I haven't ate or drank anything. My mouth was dry as cotton and I felt clammy, even in the light sundress I wore for the day. Maybe it was just a twenty four hour bug, at least that's what I was hoping. I was thrilled that we had the rest of the day to relax, I wanted to put a hundred percent into the games for tomorrow.
Everything was moving at a slow and sluggish pace. All I wanted more than anything right now was a warm bath and a cup of tea.
I felt so sick I didn't even take the time to admire the new world around me, and I felt selfish for that. There are many people who don't have the opportunity to see other worlds. History says that nobody should have known about the other worlds, yet here we are.
"Hey, Kairi!"
I felt an arm around my waist, I smelt the familiar scent of sea salt, Sora. I could tell it was him instantly by his voice. I was still surprised by how deep it's gotten. When we reunited in The World That Never Was, his voice must have lowered to ten volumes, and he grew about five inches too!
"Hey, Sora..." I say, my voice croaking. "I'm feeling a bit under the weather."
"You are!? Oh no!" His arm tightens around me, I feel a sudden gust of dizziness rush around me. I cling onto Sora's over sized shirt and stop in my tracks. He gasps and his arms are instantly around my waist.
"Kairi!"
"I-I'm sorry..." I mutter, I blink and am literally pressing my entire body weight on him.
"We need to get you to bed! There is no way you're participating in tomorrows games! Those heartless will tear you to shreds!" He wraps his arms around me, and gently starts inching me forwards practically helping me walk.
"I'll be okay, I didn't come here for nothing!"
"Let's just focus on getting you better!"
I argue no further and let Sora help me get to our small condo in the village.
(Sora)
Kairi was light as a feather as I carried her to the bathroom once we got to our small condo. She was so delicate, so small. I know that I promised her I'd trust her with her fighting from now on, but I can't help but worry for her. She's everything to me, I couldn't imagine loosing her again. I couldn't bare it.
Gently, I sit Kairi down on the counter, she slumps forward slightly. I watch her eyelids go heavy.
"Are you going to throw up?"
I pick up the small trash barrel beside the toilet and offer it to her.
But she shakes her head. "I'm okay."
I nod and place the barrel besides her on the counter and kiss her head gently.
"Just in case."
"Okay."
I press my forehead gently against hers, she feels clammy, but not hot enough to run a fever. I've learned this from Aerith. There was a time I came back from the Land of Dragons with a high fever, I wasn't sure where I got it from. But when I arrived to Hallow Bastion, Aerith cared for me and showed me how to properly check for a fever. I instantly thought of Kairi when she told me that.
"I don't think you have a fever, but it seems like your body is definitely fighting something. Have you ate anything today?"
I walk over to the bathtub, twisting and pulling the faucet handle, trying to get the water running. No luck.
"You need to pull the handle down." Kairi explains to me from behind.
"Oh right!" I nod and pull the handle down, and the water starts running out, I pull up the drain to fill up the tub.
"To answer your question, no. I haven't had anything to eat all day. I don't want to throw up."
I walk back over to her and cup her face in my hands. She looks up at me, her dark blue-violet eyes have a faint look to them, the way they always looked when she was sick.
"I might be contagious, Sora."
"It's okay, I've participated in the games more times than I can count." I say, stroking her soft cheeks gently with my thumb. "You're my priority right now, not the games. When it comes to you, I could care less."
She gives me a faint smile. "Sora..."
I hush her and help her undress, she really needed this bath.
(Aqua)
As we were getting settled in our own condo, Ven was helping me with dinner. They sure had lots of bread in this world. I guess it was a good idea to load up on carbs before a big fight. We were going to need lots of energy.
"What should we make with the bread? Grilled Cheese Sandwiches?" Ven looks at me with a curious and child-like look.
I can only smile. Of course he'd want a kid's meal.
"I think we could make plenty of those! Maybe some vegetables and soup to go along with it?"
He nods, his spiky blonde hair bouncing. "Perfect! I'll get started on the vegetables!" He hurries to the little fridge.
I smile and watch him gather carrots and fresh green string beans. He was growing up to be such a sweet gentlemen. Words couldn't describe how proud I was of him.
I glance out the open door to see Terra sitting on the steps. I could tell something was on his mind.
"Ven, I'm going to check on Terra! Get those vegetables cooking!"
"Okay!" Ventus nods and turns to the stove and gets to work.
I smile at him and step outside on the front steps, closing the door behind me.
"Terra?"
He looks over his shoulder at me with his ice blue eyes.
"Are you okay?" I sit down besides him and rest my hand on his knee.
He nods and stays silent for a moment, he's thinking.
"I can tell somethings on your mind. Ven and I are making grilled cheeses and vegetables for dinner, with soup tonight. Is that okay?" I ask, keeping my hand on his knee. "Is that okay with you?"
"Do you think we'll fall into darkness?"
I blink, completely thrown off guard. "What?"
He inhales deeply. "Do you think some of us, like Rikuu...Axel...Vanitas...or even me may fall into darkness?"
"What do you mean!?" I ask, trying to keep calm. There was no way that Xehanort could have any control over them anymore, not with King Mickey and Yen Sid around.
"What if we rely on the darkness? What if we summon it for more power?" Terra says in a deep whisper.
I shake my head and grab onto his shoulder.
"You're stronger than that now, we all are. That will not happen."
Terra looks at me. His face just inches from mine.
"I hope not."
A/N: I apologize if this chapter blew chunks, I've been having serious writers block lately (AHEM JESSIE HEEEEELLLLPPPPPP!) But I wanted to post! It's been forever!
