"Rin! Get back here this instant!"
I'm sorry stepmum, I can't stay here! Not now! I.A. is in trouble! The blonde girl ran as fast as she could out of the house, pulling her green jacket over her body. "N-NO!"
"Get back here NOW!" Rin's stepmum ran a few paces after her adopted child, but stopped as soon as she got to the end of the porch. "RIN!"
Shaking her head, Rin quickly pulled up her hood and refused to look back. Oliver would come up with something to cover her, that she was sure of. With every passing day, Oliver was becoming more and more like her blood-related brother than the creepy one-eyed child who moved into her house's old study. The boy was a true Kagamine.
A small vibration made Rin look down at her pockets, and continuing her sprint she reached into it and pulled out her mobile phone. Yuma had texted her.
Going to the place now. Meet you there. Hio is coming too.
"Why is that cross-dressing Lemon coming too? Like we have enough problems…" Rin stuffed her phone back into her pocket, but not before staring at her background once more. It was of Len, back when him and her had just been under a month old. Cursing under her breath, she wiped the newly-forming tears out of her eyes and kept going as fast as she could.
Lately Rin had been thinking about I.A. and the fact she and her brother were now enemies. Sure, she and Len had fought a lot when he was still alive, but that didn't change anything. They had been together from the days in the womb to the days at kindergarten. Even when he was wrong, Rin always stuck with her brother. Now, she never could again.
Now, she was no longer a twin.
A loud crash interrupted her thoughts. The wind and rain from the typhoon were picking up. The sharp, cold air hit the girl's face with such a ferocity it stung her cheeks. The tears she was crying were undistinguishable as the rainwater mixed onto her face in the form of drops. "Damn it…I.A. where the hell are you? I can't stand this storm much longer…"
Nearby another piercing noise hit Rin's ears, and she fell to her knees in the shock of it. She wanted to be home. She wanted to be with Len. She wanted…
"What are you doing?! Get up!"
Rin's blue eyes opened to see a familiar beanie-wearing loser coming to her rescue. "P-Pinky…?"
Yuma nodded and helped her up. He wore no jacket, was absolutely soaked to the bone. "Yeah, that's me."
"W-Why did you head to my house instead of where I.A. and her brother are?" She stuttered, her voice on the verge of cracking.
"Yohio headed there. I wanted to make sure you were okay…Not 'cause I was worried about you or anything." He said the last part quickly, averting his eyes away from the girl he had just rescued.
Rin pulled the sides of her jacket close to her soaked face, trying to hide the small amount of blush that was slowly rising up her cheeks. "I-I see…Thank you, Yuma…"
Yuma bowed his head, an accomplished look on his face. "No trouble…And, thanks for calling me by my name, Yellow."
Rin suppressed a laugh and nodded. "Alright, let's go. I don't wanna leave poor Yohio waiting with those two other-worldly beings."
I.A. was falling. She barely had a heartbeat. She knew she was doing more than falling, she was dying.
Above her, K.A.'s deranged laughter sounded like a church bell. It was clear, loud, and no one could miss it, especially her. She had lost the final fight against what was left of her brother, and now he and the mistress that controlled his mind would take over this Realm. Who knew if they'd even stop there and not try to concur Beyond and other Realms.
As I.A. descended, her body went into a fetal position. Behind her, the wings she used to treasure were nothing more than tatters trailing behind her. I'm so sorry…Father…Rin…Len…
Tears of pure and utter sadness washed over her cheeks and quickly disappeared in the air. Len, oh how she missed him. It was her fault he was dead, all of it. She wanted to avenge him. I.A. wanted, no…I.A. needed to do more. She needed to eradicate her enemies. She needed to destroy her enemies.
She couldn't give up, not now.
M.E. beat her wings franticly as she struggled to remain upright. The massive winds of the typhoon where nearly too much for her aged wings. Here in the Demented Realm, everyone grew old in much less time than in Beyond. If M.E. hated anything about this Realm, it was definitely the age factor.
"K.A.!" She called loudly at her pet, who was still staring intently at his 'sister', who was still falling. "K.A., come here dear! She's dead, no doubt about it."
The monster of a boy nodded his unshorn head and made his way chaotically over to her. His wings had lost so much of their flight feathers he really had to push himself to stay up in the air. He did get to his mistress in due time, and stared at her obediently with a giant toothy smile.
"Ah, that's my good boy!" M.E. exclaimed, gently placing her hand on his blood-covered cheek. "You did it! You killed that stupid girl, Imperial Adversary. Now we can commence our plans…All thanks to you dear…"
Then something M.E. thought was impossible happened.
K.A. opened his mouth, and his dark, viscous eyes grew noticeable pupils, like those of a being with a soul. He then, from his agape mouth, formed words with his chapped lips and bruised lips. "You…are not…t-the boss of me…"
M.E.'s eyes grew wider than golf balls. "E-Excuse me? How are you talking anyway?! I destroyed your mind! You are mine now!"
The blue-headed boy grabbed her by her arms forcibly and stared eye to eye at her. "I…didn't kill her….s-she is alive…But you…You will d-die…At my…hands…"
