Bedrest fucking sucked ass. It had been two days, and I was going fucking mad. The first day Godric had stayed home with me as Pam and Blondie went to Fangtasia. Apparently there had been something called a maenad hanging out in Bon Temps that was making everyone crazy. Blondie had ended up spending a day at the Queen of Louisiana's mansion, in an attempt to get information to kill the creature. Though it was Ken who ended up making the plan to kill the thing, while Blondie was still with the Queen. Blondie was a useless bastard.
The next day Blondie returned from the Queen's palace. Godric joined him and Pam at Fangtasia, leaving me in the care of Ginger. She was in charge of getting me what I requested, and keeping me in bed. She was doing a horrible job at that last part.
Ginger was in the kitchen, making me a sandwich (ew, no. Never again. Blegh.), and I was creeping down the stairs. I glanced over to the kitchen. Ginger's back was to me, and… that was a fucking candle. Was she dripping pumpkin scented candle wax on my sandwich? I shook my head, hurrying down the stairs. I ran once I reached the door. The door made an awful creak as I opened it, and I heard Ginger calling after me as I dove through the opening. I jumped into the car Godric was renting, as we were still waiting for our cars and bikes to be delivered, and quickly peeled out of the driveway.
I had no plans, I just needed to get out of the house. Having someone constantly hovering around me was getting on my last damn nerve. Now, I loved Godric, truly. He was the most amazing part of my life. But he was so fucking over protective.
I let out a sigh as I continued to drive, enjoying the winding roads of the outskirts of town. My phone rang in my pocket. I wiggled it out of my jeans and clicked the answer button, bringing the phone to my ear.
"Yo?"
"Anna…" Godric growled out. "Where are you?"
"... At the house. Where else would I be?" I answered innocently.
"Anna!"
"Christ, what?" I whined at him, swerving the car as a squirrel decided to jump into the road.
"Ginger called. Apparently you ran out before she was able to finish making you food."
"Ginger's crazy. Don't know what she's talking about…" I frowned as I noticed a car pull up behind me, following way too close. Fucking asshole.
"I can hear the car engine, Anna. Where are you?"
The car behind me sped up, ramming into the back bumper of the rental I was driving. "Fuck! I'll call you back in a second. Assholes, man," I said quickly, hanging up the phone.
The car slammed into me again. I shoved the gas down with my foot, coaxing the car to a manageable 70 in the 30mph road. The car behind me easily kept pace, until they pulled up next to me, turning sharply to hit the front of their car into the back of my car. I spun out, my car going off of the road and slamming into a tree. The airbags popped out as my body lurched forwards into it. The seat belt tightened around me, keeping me in place.
I sucked in a breath as I glanced around, noting my blurry surroundings. It was like I was looking through dense fog. The hood of the car was bent up, folded around the tree. A branch was stuck through the windshield, plunged into my shoulder slightly. I let out a groan as I reached up to grasp the branch. I let out a hiss as I snapped it before yanking it out of my shoulder. I unclipped the seatbelt and reached to open the door.
The door was ripped off it's hinges. A smirking face came into view. "Aw, look here," he cooed, glancing behind him at another man. "We've found ourselves a little Annalee."
The second man made a tsking noise. "It's not very smart to wander in the woods so late."
The first man grabbed onto my arm, his fingers wrapping around to my shoulder where he dug them into my open wound. I gasped out, and he used his grip to drag me out of the totaled car. I was thrown to the ground, a foot placed onto my throat. I let out a strangled cry as I struggled to breath.
"Now, what should we do with her…" The second man said.
The first man let out a growl, his foot applying more pressure as he pulled out his phone that, I assume, was vibrating in his pocket.
"Yes?" He answered.
The voice on the other end was muffled, but I was able to make out what they said. "The Magister's in the area. You two need to get out now."
"Anna?"
"Leave her. The order is to retreat now."
"Understood."
The pressure on my neck was lifted. And I sucked in a deep breath, letting out a cough that was interrupted by a choked scream as the man stomped down on my leg, a splintering crack followed the action.
The two men vanished, leaving me in the middle of the road.
I managed to pull myself to my feet, though after seeing the angle my leg was bent into gave up the idea of walking. "Fuck," I cursed as I stumbled to the ground. I started crawling back to the car, dragging my busted leg behind myself. I let out a hiss, but managed to get to the car, where I was able to grab my phone. I already had twelve missed calls from Gordic, along with a lengthy text that I chose to ignore.
I hit the callback button for Godric's cell, which he answered immediately.
"Anna," he growled. "Where are you?"
"I'm partway down 4th street. About 2 miles west of Lee. Dick's ran me off of the road," I explained.
"On my way."
I heard the dial tone, so I let the phone drop from my hand as I leaned back against the car. My life was so fucked up. I was a fucking freak of nature, with assholes who wanted fuck knows what with me. I almost had my heart ripped out a couple days ago, and was now a bloody mess with a hole in my shoulder and a broken leg. So. Fucked. Up.
Not even a minute after I dropped the phone, Godric was landing in front of me. He simply reached down and picked me up, cradling me in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning my head against his shoulder. I closed my eyes as he took off into the sky, my stomach doing summersaults. I guess it wasn't just planes that I hated. It was more of being god-knows how high in the air. Feet were meant to stay on the ground.
We landed in front of Fangtasia, the parking lot surprisingly empty. Pam stepped outside, opening the door for us. "Where is everyone?" I asked as we entered the club.
"Sookie." Was Pam's reply.
And there she was, standing with her arms crossed, glaring at Blondie. I noticed her red-rimmed eyes. "Da fuq's wrong with you?" I asked.
Her eyes started watering. "Bill's gone."
"Ken? Where'd he go?" I asked as I hobbled, with Godric's help, over to the bar where I grabbed myself a bottle of tequila and a shot glass, pouring myself a generous amount.
"I don't know!" She all but wailed. "That's why I'm here! My fiance's missing, and no one's doing anything!"
"Fiance? Huh, didn't know you guys were getting hitched," I commented as I downed the shot.
"He just proposed before he was kidnapped."
"Kidnapped? How the fuck did we get from missing to kidnapped?" I wondered as Godric left the room after helping me onto a barstool.
"You're all useless!" She cried and stormed out of the building.
"Now, doll, what happened to you?" Pamela asked as she and Blondie came to stand in front of me.
"Yes, Anna, please explain," Godric glowered as he came back to me, carrying a bunch of supplies in his hands, which he set on the counter.
I shrugged, and winced. "Well, ya know… Dicks, man. Dicks are everywhere! Christ, can't a girl just go for a drive anymore? What happened to the days were a lass could go for a walk without fearing for her life?"
"What did they do?" Blondie asked, breaking the silence that followed my questions.
Godric pulled down the shoulder of my shirt, exposing the wound that the branch had left. He started dabbing disinfectants on it.
I let out a huff. "They ran me off the road. I slammed into a tree. Asshole pulled me out of the car. Grabbed my neck," I poked at my neck, cringing. Defenitly was gonna bruise like a mother fucker. "They got a call, something about the Magister being here, and they took off. Dick stomped on my leg before leaving. Now, I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that's not a natural angle for a shin bone." I pointed down at my fucked up leg.
Blondie let out a sigh, his hand coming up to rest against my cheek. "You couldn't have just stayed at the house?"
I pouted. "I tried. But Christ, I was so bored! And for fuck's sake, Ginger is the worst company. She talked for four fucking hours straight about how much she wanted to bone you. I know more about her fantasies than I do about the history of the U.S. I mean, fuck," I winced, rubbing my eyes. "She told me all about how she wants you to eat her out, and... " I grimaced, "and drink from her… from her clit." I shuddered. "Christ, ow! Fuck, who would want that? Nothing sharp should be near anyone's clit. I just can't… Why? Fuck, ew, no," I shook my head, shuddering. "She's seriously disturbed. Seriously seriously fucked." I was nearly cupping my lady parts, feeling the need to protect myself from even the thought of that.
Blondie looked somewhere between smug and horrified.
"That's Ginger. Fucking crazy," Pam replied.
"She went to make me a sandwhich. I saw her dripping candle wax onto it," I mumbled.
Godric had finished patching up my shoulder, and had moved down to my leg. "We may need to get Dr. Ludwig back. I don't know if I'll be able to set this."
"Just yank it back into place. I have faith in you! Just, ya know…" I made a push/pull motion with my hands, acting out pushing the bone back into place.
Godric just shook his head at me. "I'll try it… But I can't guarantee it'll work."
"Woo! Go team!" I cheered as he knelt in front of me, grabbing onto my leg.
"Ready?" He asked.
I clenched my hands into fists, gnawing on my lip as I nodded. Godric jerked on my leg, my teeth gnashed down into my lip as my body flew forward.
"...Anna?" Godric cautiously asked. I sat hunched forward, head ducked down as I blinked back tears.
"M'good," I mumbled out. I darted my tongue out, swiping the blood off my lips. "I just… ah… The bone had… It'd started healing together…" I sniffled out, curling tighter into myself. "I'm okay." Godric wrapped his arms around me, drawing me into him. My sniffling turned into sobs. "I just wanted to go for a drive."
"It's okay, Anna. Everything's gonna be okay," he told me.
"When?" I pulled back, looking at him. "When is it gonna be okay?"
He just shook his head and pulled me back against him. "I don't know. But I promise you, it will be okay. We'll make it okay. You'll be okay."
"But what if we can't, Godric? I can't go with them. I can't. I can't."
He held me as I sobbed against him.
A/N: I know, I'm the fucking worst. It's been a year. I'm so sorry. Shit's crazy. Hoping to get my life together so I can put some work into this again, just don't know when that will be. So I'll do my best to not let another year go by. DX I promise, I will get this story finished. I'm not giving up on it.
Huge shout out to all of you who reviewed. I usually reply to all reviews, but again, shit's crazy.
Also, sorry if the formatting's weird/different than it use to be. Last computer died, so I'm using a new program to write. Don't know if it'll look any different for you guys.
