Liesel wasn't stupid, overly confident and cocky on occasion yet but stupid, that she wasn't. Despite the fact that Liesel could see the future and she had all of these other abilities she felt fear. A person who never felt fear or scared was a fool, as even the brave felt scared. Which was what Liesel was currently feeling, she felt scared about this whole situation. Firstly there was Logan, suddenly back from the dead and causing havoc and killing practically everything with his grasp, he was armed with a gun that even though it only shot bullets it was still capable of hurting people. Liesel had to pull out several bullets out of Damon because of Logan but he wasn't the only threat. Up until today Liesel thought the only vampires in town were Damon and Stefan but there was the news about Logan, however the news that there was another vampire in town lurking around and was responsible for Logan becoming a vampire was slightly unnerving. It could be anywhere, doing god knows what and that kind of made the constantly aloof Liesel about worried. But she had Stefan and Damon so Liesel was going to be fine not to mention she was having premonitions again, her abilities were going strong and they had the compass. Speaking of the compass, it had led Liesel back to school where all of this had began. Tucking the compass back in her jacket pocket and pulled out her phone and called Damon and all it took was a couple of rings before he picked up.
"Little Caffrey."
"Hey I think I may have found Logan, I'm at school…" Liesel began.
"I know he's there Stefan just called me and apparently Logan has turned up at the whatever event is being held there, I'm on my way right now so I want you to go to a crowded area inside and stay there. Do not approach him if you see him at all Caffrey as the last thing we need is for him to know that you're aware of him along with vampires because I don't want to have to babysit you in my free time. Stefan and I will deal with Logan and then I will come and get you when it's safe and take you home. Do not go anywhere else until I have got you, is that clear?" Damon instructed and Liesel found herself nodding, until she realized Damon couldn't see that as they were talking over the phone.
"Umm, okay…" Liesel eventually replied.
"It'll be okay Little Caffrey, don't worry." Damon chuckled, no doubt picking up on Liesel's worried about the entire thing and she couldn't help but internally groan. Whilst she was going accustomed to Damon giving her the occasional pep talk and assuring her that she was this incredibly person but twice in one day was a bit too much for her. She didn't want Damon thinking that she was soft and weak but now wasn't the time to be dwelling on that given the problem that they were currently in the middle of.
"Of course it will be! Right, well I'll let you get on with it… Catch you later Big Salvatore." Liesel said forcing herself to return to her usual aloof and unflappable manner before ending the cool with Damon feeling somewhat better. Although deep down Liesel knew she wouldn't feel better until Logan was dead and that silly gun with the wooden bullets had been chucked into the falls. But that was going to take time, so taking a deep breath Liesel walked into school and quickly but not too quickly walked through the hallways. Stefan was here somewhere so Liesel figured it would be in her best interest to find him, hopefully in a very crowded area without running into Logan. However she needed to get to the cafeteria as it was where career night was taking place, which was on the other side of the building much to Liesel's avail. So she started walking further into the school building and when she was halfway there she ran into Stefan and Elena. "Stefan, thank god! What the hell is going?"
"Lees! We've got a problem…" Stefan began.
"Yeah I know about Logan, I've been with Damon most of the afternoon and we tracked Logan to the old Fell warehouse which resulted in Damon being shot whilst I was outside. Then once Logan took off Damon had me use the compass to track him down and I ended up here, called Damon and he had already heard from you…" Liesel replied recapping on her very eventful afternoon.
"Does Logan know about you?"
"Damon went into the warehouse alone, he told me to go home but I heard the shots pretty much as soon as I was done. I saw what was going on inside the warehouse and I waited outside until Logan took off and it was safe for me to go inside and get Damon."
"That's good." Stefan replied with a nod and Liesel could see that Elena wanted them to expand on what Stefan had meant about Logan knowing about Liesel. But before she could even open her mouth, Liesel shot Elena a look that swiftly told her to not even bother.
"Very." Liesel murmured as the three of them continued walking down the hallways and Liesel felt slightly better, at least she was no longer alone and didn't have to worry about Logan jumping her down a dark hallway. Although Liesel didn't know why she was worrying as if she did come across Logan, she knew he wouldn't kill her based on that premonition she had about her and Stefan. However that didn't mean that Logan couldn't hurt her, Liesel may be a lot of things but invulnerable wasn't one of them. Damon and Stefan could come back from most things including wooden bullets, but Liesel couldn't. As the three of them continued to walk they ran into Matt Donovan and Liesel actually wished she was somewhere else. Whilst she really didn't know Matt, she knew that he was Elena's ex boyfriend.
"Hey…" Matt began and Liesel was surprised that he was addressing her as well as usually she was ignored by any of the popular kids. But then again Matt Donovan was never outright mean to her like Tyler Lockwood on the other hand.
"Hey have you seen Logan Fell, the news guy?" Elena asked being useful for the first time ever much to Liesel's surprise.
"Yeah. He just gave Caroline a ride home." Matt announced before walking off and Liesel just glanced at Stefan as her stomach dropped to her feet. She could not believe this was happening, there was something about Caroline, vampires and getting into trouble that just seemed to go together. But that wasn't the biggest issue right now, they needed to find Caroline right now as god only knows what Logan was going to do to her. Hell, if she was even still alive as Logan was very pissed off about this whole vampire thing judging by how trigger happy he was when he was with Damon earlier.
"Can you track them?" Stefan asked suddenly putting Liesel on the spot and she was taken so of guard that it took her a couple of moments to actually form a sentence.
"I-I don't know, I've never tried something like that. I honestly don't know if I'm capable of that. Theoretically maybe but I also may not be, I'm not sure Stefan. I can give it a try." Liesel quietly said as it was kind of a lot to Stefan to ask of her given that she had never tried to use her abilities to track someone down specifically. Sure Liesel had sort of done it this afternoon with Damon but she knew where he was, she was just outside. That was a big difference from trying to track someone down in her mind by using her abilities. Never before had Liesel attempted to track someone with her mind. Liesel wasn't too sure about whether she could do it but Stefan seemed to think she could and he had more faith in Liesel and her abilities than Liesel did.
"Thank you." Stefan said before turning to Elena. "Stay here with Liesel, she'll know what to do."
Liesel watched as Stefan walked away from the two of them with a rather anguished look on his face and after a moment she finally came back to reality and grabbed Elena's wrist and started pulling her a long. Liesel had an idea about how she could possibly do this and to do it she wanted a map as she figured she could possibly pinpoint Caroline and Logan's location on a map instead of searching her mind and possibly giving herself the biggest migraine ever. Her abilities, specially her clairvoyance allowed her to gain informationa about the past, present and future. Her mind had the ability to see people's futures, was seeing their location really that much of a stretch from what she could already do? Could her abilities allow her to see things that were happening right now that were outside her normal perception? Liesel's ability allowed her to see the history about a lot of things including people so theoretically that could include a person's location. Liesel was willing to give it a whack so she dragged Elena into an empty history class and switched the light on.
"Shut the door."
"Excuse me?" Elena asked
"I said shut the door, I kind of need privacy right now." Liesel said as she went about searching the class for local maps and after digging through some shelves and drawers, Liesel successfully found one. She opened the map and placed it down on the floor and bent down next to it and frowned. She hoped this was going to work for all their sakes. The last thing Liesel needed was Caroline Forbes death hanging over her shoulders.
"What are you doing?
"Did you miss the part where Stefan asked me whether I could try and find your friend Caroline along with Logan Fell? Whose now a bloody thirsty and kind of angry vampire who may possible kill her?" Liesel questioned rather sarcastically as she was well aware that Elena knew that she wasn't quite what she seemed. Stefan had refused to tell Elena what Liesel was but ironically it was Liesel herself who was going to let Elena into her deep dark secret.
"How are you going to find Caroline when we're in here?" Elena asked and Liesel quietly chuckled, it reminded her that humans were so oblivious and knew nothing. Even Elena who knew vampires were existed was still naive to everything that was out there in the world.
"I have my ways." Liesel vaguely said with a small chuckle before turning her attention back to the map, thinking here goes nothing to herself Liesel shut her eyes and held out her finger over the map. Taking a deep breath Liesel forced herself to shut everything out from her mind and only focus on Caroline and Logan. She said their names in her head and much to her surprise things started to moving inside her head. It was like she was running in full speed in her head from her current location to wherever the hell Caroline and Logan were. It was a huge blue and for Liesel her head was already pounding, there were countless images that her mind was trying to processs and for her it was like her head was overheating, threatening to burst and then she saw them. Liesel saw an image with Caroline and Logan in a car and seconds later before her finger dropped and made contact with the map. Opening her eyes Liesel saw that her finger was on Elm street. Unable to believe what she did, Liesel went into her bag and pulled her phone and hit 4 on her speed dial. The phone rang for a few seconds before it was finally answered.
"Liesel?"
"I did it. I found them or I think I did, their on Elm street Stefan. I'm pretty sure she's alive too as I wouldn't be able to find her if she was dead…" Liesel said unable to believe that she was saving the life yet again of the girl who had pushed her down a flight of stairs which ended up with Liesel breaking her arm in two places. Liesel blamed Stefan for this as three months ago she wouldn't have been doing something like this for anyone, except maybe her family.
"I knew you could do it." Stefan replied and Liesel was pretty sure she could hear the smile on Stefan's face coming through the phone.
"You always do, now go get her." Liesel stated before hanging up the phone and went about packing up the map in order to put it away. But as she did Liesel couldn't help but notice that Elena was staring at her and hand been for the last couple of minutes. For someone like Liesel who liked being invisible it was slightly unnerving despite Liesel being fully aware of why Elena was staring at her as if she had a huge sign on her forehead that said freak of nature.
"How did you do that?" Elena asked.
"I told you, I have my ways." Liesel groaned with a small sigh as she rubbed her head, she now had a terrible headache now and she knew painkillers weren't going to be able to fix this kind of headache.
"What are you?"
"Again with that Elena, it's been what? A little under two months since you found out about Stefan and your still trying to figure me out? I could probably give you a map and a flashlight and you still couldn't do it, probably get your head even more lost up your ass. I'm no witch if that's what your asking Elena, however Bonnie on the other hand…" Liesel said in a rather good natured tone of voice, she was actually enjoying this despite her throbbing head.
"You know about Bonnie." Elena slowly stated and Liesel nodded with a big fat goofy grin on her face, Elena was just confirming for her how stupid and oblivious humans really were.
"I've known about her longer than you have and even before Bonnie truly realized what she was. The perks of knowing everything that goes on in this screwed up little town. You already know I'm not a vampire and I'm not a witch, human but not quite human. You're so curious to know what I am? Fine then, if you really want to know, I'm a psychic." Liesel casually announced, she had been embracing this whole being a weird freak of nature psychic thing ever since she had met Stefan, him along with Damon and Lexi showed her that it was okay to be different to everyone else and that she wasn't a freak. Instead she was pretty damn amazing.
"A psychic?" Elena skeptically questioned.
"Yes. But trust me I am not the crystal gazing freak that you're thinking off, I am so much more than that. I can see and do many things and just in case my little map trick to find Caroline didn't convince you then I'll let you into a little secret. I see the future, I have done for years. I even knew that were going to die in that accident," Liesel said not failing to notice the sharp intake of breath Elena took at the mention of her parents.
"My parents…"
"Yeah, the futures I see do tend to come true." Liesel dryly responsed.
"And you didn't do anything about it?" Elena demanded in an accusing tone of voice.
"Things aren't as easy as you make them out to be Elena, back then when I foresaw death it always came to pass. No matter what, there was nothing I could have done to save them; nobody could have save them so watch your tone Gilbert. I didn't know it was your parents until after the accident, all I knew was that someone was going to die on May 23rd and they did. I just know it was two people until my dad and brother came home and told me." Liesel retorted knowing that she probably shouldn't have been so rude to Elena, but she was a pretty defensive person especially when people started giving her grief.
"Do you know how I survive?" Elena asked and Liesel felt herself in a moral dilemma given that Elena kind of deserved to know how she survived. But it wasn't Liesel's place to tell her, Stefan had to be the one to tell her that information.
"Tarot cards don't exactly reveal that I'm afraid." Liesel answered as honestly as she could and then they just fell into silence as Liesel knew she didn't have to warn Elena about what would happen if she opened her mouth about what Liesel was. The two of them left the room in silence and awkwardly walked around with each other for the better part of half an hour until Stefan suddenly reappeared.
"Caroline?" Elena questioned.
"Thanks to Liesel she's okay, I got there in time and took her home. She's pretty shaken up but all she knows is that Logan attacked her and nothing else." Stefan explained before turning to Liesel. "I'm proud of you Liesel, I knew you could do it."
"It was all down to you, it was your faith that led me to them." Liesel responded with a small smile.
"What about Logan?"
"Damon's dealing with him." Stefan clarified and even Elena understood then Damon was getting rid of Logan by killing him so he could not cause anymore misery or destruction to anyone else much to Liesel's relief. Looking around Liesel could pick up on some weird vibe between Stefan and Elena, which prompted her to leave very quickly. But then she remembered that she couldn't go home until Damon got here, so she decided to go somewhere else. Perhaps even check out career night.
"I'm going to take off…" Liesel announced.
"Liesel." Stefan began, no doubt worrying about her being by herself when there was a mysterious vampire running around feeing people their blood.
"Don't worry so much, I'll be fine. Just going to go and head over to career night, see what's going on and then go home." Liesel stated with a small smile on her face, she really needed to get out of here as her head was killing her and she didn't want Stefan to see the damage. Maybe if she went and sat down somewhere she ;d feel better for a while.
"You sure?"
"Positive, I'll swing by and pick you up for school tomorrow?" Liesel teased knowing that there was no way that Damon and Stefan were going to leave town now, not since there was another vampire running around town. Despite that grim issue, Liesel liked having Damon and Stefan around and she didn't want them to leave, Stefan was her friend and as much as she hated to admit this so was Damon and she knew soon enough he'd reach the best friend status with her. Call Liesel selfish but she didn't want them to leave. The two of them coming into her life had completely turned everything in Liesel's world upside down in the last two and a half months but Liesel couldn't imagine life without them and to be honest she didn't want to think about, let alone have it happen. They accepted her, loved her for who she was and believed in her and everything that she could do. Liesel could never hide from them as Damon and Stefan saw her for exactly who she was and they didn't run, they weren't put off Liesel. A little intimidated and scared of what she could do – which Damon openly admitted but she wasn't a freak of nature to them. Liesel was a person, she was a friend to them and most importantly she mattered to them.
