Olivia walked into her apartment and giggled when she heard Elliot singing. She shook her head when she noticed what song it was and who was singing it with him. She turned the corner and found Elliot stirring something while Ava did her homework in front of him. They were singing Baby Don't Go by Sonny and Cher. When Elliot started singing, Ava giggled and put her face in her hands. "Baby don't go! Pretty baby, please don't go!" He sang before kissing Ava's head.
"When I get to the city, my tears will all be dry. My eyes will look so pretty. No one's gonna know I cried-" Ava sang, but stopped when she saw Olivia. She flushed a crimson before covering her face again.
"Come on! I want to here you sing Ava." Elliot said, tapping her head.
Olivia chuckled and walked over to her daughter, kissing her head. "You know, usually kids are more comfortable singing around their parents than their parents' current other."
Elliot smirked, but frowned. "So what, now I am 'current other'?"
"You are my forever other." Olivia chuckled before pecking his lips. "Hi."
"Hi love." Elliot grinned before grabbing a pan behind him.
"Love? That's what you call my mother?" Ava asked, astonished. Elliot nodded. She shivered, not wanting to think about it any further. She looked back up at her mother. "I'm not every other child."
Olivia kissed her daughter's head. "I know. I love that. But, I am your mother and I love your voice. You should sing more often."
Ava rolled her eyes. "I sing all the time."
"Yeah, with a closed door blocking people from seeing you." Olivia laughed and wrapped her arms around her daughter. "What do you have tonight?"
"Well, I have a test on Monday for Algebra. That's no problem." Ava said. "But, I have a science assignment on elements that confuses the living daylights out of me."
Elliot chuckled and shook his head, putting the bowl of cookie dough down and looked at the two women in front of him. "Did you bring your book home?"
Ava looked at him, furrowing her eyebrows. "My text book, yeah." She held it up and watched as he took it. She looked up at her mother. "What's he doing?"
Olivia shrugged. "I don't know."
"Ah!" Elliot smiled proudly and loudly, making both girls jump from the startle. He put the book down and pointed at the periodic table. "Easy!"
"Well, thanks for finding that, Mr. Do It Himself, but I don't need that." Ava said, shaking her head. She held up the white worksheet. "It's all riddles. You figure out the riddle; you find the element."
Elliot scoffed. "What kind of homework is this? You aren't supposed to be having fun while doing homework."
"Well, I'm not." Ava sighed, dropping her head to her book. "I am never relating myself to science in any way in my entire life, which is impossible, unless I become a hermit." She looked up and chuckled at Elliot. "El, we are not becoming a family of hermits."
Elliot rolled his eyes. "It could be fun. We don't know."
Olivia laughed and went around the counter, putting an arm around his waist. "El, you could never watch football ever again."
"What the hell kind of life is that anyway?" Elliot asked, turning to the fridge. He opened the door and looked around. "Do you have pickles in here at all?"
Ava chuckled. "They're in the cupboard next to the fridge. They haven't been opened yet."
Olivia watched as Ava took the bowl of cookie dough and headed into her room with her homework. She heard the click of the lock and chuckled softly. "How was training today?"
"Good, Ava outran me in our three mile run." Elliot smiled, standing up and putting the pickles on the counter. He looked around. "Where did my cookie dough go? That was for the movie tonight." He looked at Olivia who was trying not to laugh. "It was Ava."
Olivia chuckled. "We can just make more. You can't leave cookie dough in front of us Benson girls. Ava may have Manning as a last name, but... she's a Benson at heart."
Elliot smirked. "I know." He pecked her lips. "But, I want that cookie dough!" He hurried towards Ava's door and started knocking on it. "Ava, that cookie dough is mine!"
"No, it's not!" Ava called through the door. "You don't live here. You didn't buy the ingredients."
Olivia walked over to the door and leaned against the frame. "Neither did you. I bought them. I live here. Technically, the cookie dough is mine." She smirked. "Ava Manning, don't make me come in there."
Ava slowly opened the door with the bowl of cookie dough. Elliot took it from her. "My cookie dough." He pouted at her before going into the kitchen.
"Good girl." Olivia chuckled before kissing her daughter's head.
Later that night, Elliot and Olivia were laying in bed watching TV. He pulled Olivia closer to him, tightening his hold on her. "I love you. You know that, right?" He whispered into her ear.
Olivia looked up at him, furrowing her eyebrows together. "Yeah, of course, I do. I love you too."
"Good, because I have a proposition for you." Elliot explained, turning her in his lap so that she was straddling him.
"What's that?" Olivia asked, curious as to what he had to say.
"Well, my mother wants to see you again and meet Ava." Elliot sighed, rubbing a hand down his face.
Olivia smiled. "And, you need to scare me to tell me this? El, what's the big deal? I love your mother!"
Elliot closed his eyes. "Well, she can be a handful. I love my mother and all... she just gets a little crazy sometimes." He opened his eyes to look at her. "I just don't want to lose you because of something my mother said or did."
Olivia leaned closer to him and kissed him slowly, letting her fingers rub his scalp. "You are never going to lose me, El. Ava is going to love your mother, just as much as I do." She looked into his eyes and smirked. "Papa El."
"Ava told you that, huh?" Elliot asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah, she's already hearing wedding bells for us." She dropped her forehead to his. "You can't get rid of me."
"I don't want to." Elliot grinned, slowly putting her on her back. "You are mine, all mine. If I ever have to live without you again, I'd die." He started kissing her jaw. "I never want to go back there. But," He looked into her eyes, seeing the love there. "I am always willing to come back here, to see those eyes. I'd trade everything just to see those eyes."
Olivia stroked his cheek, his face leaning into her hand. "I'd trade everything for you too." She leaned up and kissed him, tangling her hands with his.
