...

And thus did the battle against the Mini-Boss begin. Timmy and his adventuring group were teleported into the Mini-Boss' lair where they were immediately set upon by a pack of slobbering hyena-dragons. Timmy used his power to annoy to draw all the monsters into attacking him, to draw the pressure off the others (especially the spell casters and the ranged attack specialists). Between the armor buff, the generous supply of health potions, and the stream of healing spells from Tina, Timmy lost health fairly slowly while the others cut down the monsters one at a time. Cosmo had to use single target spells, because an Area Effect Spell would break Timmy's agro ability and turn the monsters against the Fairy Spell Caster instead. Vicky and Wanda were content to use the stealth and sneak attacks to pick off the weakened monsters on the fringe of the pack. Tootie used her shadow panther to assist Vicky and Wanda. Poof changed into a Dire Bear, acting as a secondary tank to protect the others should a hyena-dragon be drawn away from Timmy to attack the others. The Mini-Boss was on the other side of the room, and would not enter the battle until the group came into his detection range.

All in all, it was a very smooth operation. Unfortunately, as the lesser monsters fell, the group had to move farther into the room to attract more of them. This continued until they finally drew the notice of the Mini-Boss, who then attacked along with the rest of his minions. When he finally came into full view, they realized it was about three times the size of the other hyena-dragons, and had three heads as well. On top of that, it could breath fire and had much thicker scales than the lesser monsters. So the most serious part of the battle began.

The Mini-Boss launched a special attack against Timmy immediately. It bit Timmy in it's central mouth, slammed him against the floor, flung him up to the ceiling, and bounced him to the edge of the room. While the damage was only moderate, the attack inflict both the Stunned and Disabled Status on him. The other monsters suddenly became free to attack everyone else.

While Stunned, Timmy could still Private Message Cosmo, and told him it was time to cast the Hurricane Spell as a countermeasure. Cosmo succeeded, and the massive Area Effect Spell caused all of the lesser hyena-dragons to be scattered to the edges of the room taking serious damage as well as stunning them for a few seconds as well. Vicky and Wanda used the confusion to slip into their Stealth Modes (thus avoiding detection and attack) while Cosmo, Tina and Tootie got into a triangle back to back and Cosmo switched to his most powerful single target attack spells. Tina supported everyone with Area Effect healing spells. Tootie waited until the Shadow Panther fell before summoning a flying insect swarm attack that weakened and harmed all enemy in the room over time. Poof, on the other hand, was effectively isolated and fighting all on his own.

By then, Timmy had recovered from the fairly short term Stun Condition, but the Disabled Condition was more of a long term problem which seriously cut back on his attack power as well as impose a moderate penalty to his defense power. With his attack power limited, he couldn't annoy all the enemy into attacking him again, especially being on the edge of the room with monsters effectively keeping him pinned there.

Poof was reduced to zero life and left for dead by the monsters. Timmy private messaged Poof not to quit the dungeon (as you couldn't return once you were out), but instead told him to wait as long as he could for Tina to cast a Revive Spell on him. There was a time limit on how long Poof could remain dead before he would be automatically expelled from the Dimmsdale Instance. Tina couldn't break her chain of Area Effect healing spells to Revive Poof right away (in spite of the pleas in Private Messages from Wanda to the contrary).

Cosmo was the next to fall. His low armor rating combined with his low life points were the things that sealed his fate in spite of Tina's healing efforts. When Cosmo went down, the group's overall attack power was seriously diminished. Things were not looking well.

Vicky and Wanda's sneak attacks turned the balance back in the favor of the group. They both managed to fully heal themselves while stealthed, and used their special attack powers to the greatest effect when they dropped two more of the lesser hyena-dragons.

When the Mini-Boss' life points fell into the yellow zone, however, it unleashed another special attack. It used all three heads to flood the chamber with fire, burning everyone except itself. It even burned up all the rest of its own minion monsters in the process. Everyone in the group except Timmy was badly injured, with Tina, Vicky and Wanda on the verge of death themselves. Vicky and Wanda couldn't stealth away again because they were under direct attack, and stealth couldn't be used in those conditions.

Tina was running low on mana from casting Area Effect heal spells, the mana potions had a long recovery time, and the timer against Poof's expulsion from the dungeon was down to less than 30 seconds. Cosmo was about a minute and a half from expulsion from the dungeon himself. "Don't worry, Poof," she promised, "I'll Revive you in just a second. I promise."

"No," replied Timmy, "You have to Revive Cosmo even if it means letting Poof go. You don't have enough Mana to do both. If Cosmo doesn't do another Hurricane Spell, we're all finished!"

"Timmy!" cried Wanda, "How could you?..."

"Sometimes we have to make sacrifices for the good of the group!" shouted Timmy, "Wait, did I really just say that?"

"All right!" conceded Tina, "I'll Revive Cosmo!" She began casting Revive on Cosmo as Poof slipped away and vanished in a cloud of sparkly lights. Wanda stopped fighting: She was too busy crying.

...

Jorgen Von Strangle waited for the head Anti-fairy Anti-Cosmo to list his demands for allowing the wish that changed the world into a computer game to be undone.

"Very well, Jorgen," began Anti-Cosmo slowly, "we demand positions on the programming and development staffs. Positions as good as any fairy, and don't deny that they are fairies influencing the direction of the game."

"Not directly," responded Jorgen, "we simply have the children of the programmers who just happen to have their own wishes about what they want in the game."

"Then don't object when I assign Anti-fairies to some of the other children of the programmers."

"But 'Da Rules'..."

"Don't apply to Anti-fairies!" interrupted Anti-Cosmo.

"Fine!" grumbled Jorgen, "I won't object. What else do you want?"

"We need two days to balance the game by introducing an Anti-fairy Faction to the game as well as an area of Fairy Monsters. The fans demand it."

"Fine!" grumbled Jorgen, "Two days. It's not like it will matter once the world returns to normal. Anything else?"

'Keep thinking that, Jorgen old boy,' thought Anti-Cosmo to himself as he continued, "You have to allow us to appoint an Anti-fairy assistant to you who must remain with you at all times and be allowed to share in all of your confidences."

"WHY?" bellowed Jorgen.

"Because I don't trust you enough not to believe you'll eventually connive a plan to cheat us out of what's our due."

"FINE!" said Jorgen, his dander rising, "But this assistant has no power to influence my decisions in any way!"

"And you can't give your assistant any task that would take them away from you for any amount of time! They must be free to report back to us as they please!"

"FINE! Is there any other demands?"

"No," replied Cosmo with a smile, "That's all there are."

"Then we agree to reverse the wish in two days hence?"

"Yes, break a wing. Knock yourself out."

"You wish, Anti-fairy!"

"Chillax Jorgen," replied Anti-Cosmo, "It's just a saying from Earth."

"Oh... whatever! It's not my job to be hip! I'm just the leader of Fairy World and the Guardian of 'Da Rules'!"

"I know, Jorgen," grumbled Anti-Cosmo, "I know..."
