Hi guys! I had this chapter done days ago, but I wanted to upload it at the same time as my new oneshot, 'Mistake'. I don't think that it's that great, but after the various hours I put in it, I decided to upoad it anyways. But here's the chapter you've been waiting for!" :-)

Sam-

Sam wheezed, water in her lungs, trying to breathe with her oxygen mask. The cosmic wave of heat almost sent her flying into the coral. Almost. The firm hand on her wrist pulled her out of the way, pulled her to safety.

When her breathing, and the water, calmed, she felt something release. Sam looked down to see that he had been holding her around her waist. She looked up to meet his gaze, unsure of what to make of his neutral expression.

"You'd be of no use to me dead, Samantha." He said clearly, his voice sounding as clear as if they were both standing above water. He turned away, swimming towards their submarine, leaving her confused and completely unsure of what just happened.

Alex-

She tugged on her short hair tiredly, standing to go to the hotel bar. Clover would probably be man-hunting there, and they didn't have time for that. Jerry had updated them, saying that another person disappeared, and he needed them to search the marked radius.

Alex sighed, smoothing her tank top. She was still trying to figure out what to do, and she didn't like bossing people around, but they had a duty to WOOHP, and if she had to drag Clover back up here, she would.

Sam-

She lay back in her seat, eyes closed. But she wasn't asleep. Her mind relentlessly kept going back over the explosion. The brunt force applied when he forced her mask back on, when he pulled her out of the way. She could have easily died, so why? Jerry would never believe him, for one! But he would have found a workaround to that problem. So why? His words played back through her head. "You'd be of no use to me dead, Samantha."

And no matter how hard she tried, that phrase dominated her mind the entire journey back to WOOHP. She slid her seat back, reaching out to the unawareness of sleep.

Scam-

He turned slightly, looking over at her. The idiot hadn't put her mask on, leaving him responsible for her safety. A rather foolhardy move on her part. She would have splattered into the coral shelf in only seconds had he not reached out and saved her.

But why had he? For purely selfish motives. She had saved his life, and now he had saved hers. They were even. He owed nothing more to the redhead. So why did he feel like that was a lie when he looked at her?

He snuck away from the controls, reaching around through her jetpack's pockets. Finding the plans, he studied them carefully, committing every detail to memory. He couldn't be sure when he'd see the map again, or that Jerry wouldn't attempt to cross him. Attempt, because if he caught the old man, which he would, he'd break his neck before he could beg for mercy. Mercy he didn't deserve.

Putting the plans away, he spared her another glance, seeing that she was beginning to stir. He made his way back to his seat, hearing her barely audible yawn seconds after he had replaced his hands on the controls. He could tell that she was antsy, wanting to just be able to go home.

Home. He scowled, Jerry had installed cameras at his house, he knew that much. Unfortunately for Jerry, he had put a loophole into their deal. If Jerry's technology got on his nerves, he could disable it without breaching the deal's restrictions. He was a master of loopholes. A faint smirk graced his lips as put the sub on autopilot, turning to the startled redhead.

Clover-

"Another one for me please." She faintly slurred, only her hand on the bar keeping her upright.

"I'll pay for the lady." A voice said. She turned to find an average looking man, tall, longish blonde hair, and blue eyes. He would do for her purposes. She smiled at him, her eyes trailing to his six-pack. Yes, he would definitely do.

Alex-

Alex made her way to the fancy hotel bar, feeling unnecessarily childish compared to the other fancily dressed patrons in her tank top and shorts. Clover was no where in sight. She went to the bartender in hopes he had seen her. He looked her over relucantly.

"What can I get for you M'am?"

"I was wondering if you'd seen my friend-"

"Listen Lady, it's not that I don't want to help you, but I get this every night, and I have patrons to serve. My shift's over in twenty-five minutes." He said, before moving away towards the waving girls at the other end of the bar.

Alex left the bar, going to sit near the entrance in the lobby. She only hoped Clover wasn't where she thought she was. Drunk Clover tended not to make very good choices.

Half an hour later, the bartender emerged from the dimly lit bar, noticed her, and walked over.

"Who's missing?" He asked, sounding like this was a regular routine that happened everyday.

"My friend Clover. Pale skin, short blonde hair, blue eyes. Have you seen her?"

"She was here getting drunk for about an hour before leaving with another guy. A regular. That's all I can tell you." He said, looking at her sympathetically. He tipped his hat to her, and left. Alex wearily made her way back to her room. They were losing valuable mission time, and Jerry wasn't going to be happy. What had Clover gotten herself into now?

The good stuff should be coming up soon! X)
