Reviews (For guests):
Lips of Yarn:
- I know… it just haven't gotten time to change it. It was a written fast summary. Thanks for the reminder!
Machaelaguest:
-It will happen a lot to Grace Collins! I can't reveal if Will and Alexis will get together, but keep rooting! Happy Birthday, I had this chapter pretty much done so I could post it! Hope you have a nice day!
North Wind:
-It's fine! I know, life, it's hectic. Thanks! And you have good senses, but I reveal nothing.
Guest:
-Thanks! It means a lot for me! I hope you like the rest of the story!
ParamoreLover333:
- I made Willexis T-shirt and poster! Go to my profile and you will see a link to my tumblr! I hope you like it! I love both of the songs you listed, and Grace is a special person in this story. Will's behavior is explained in this chapter.
CopperPlanet:
-Thank you so much! I still have much left, so yay!
Peregrine:
-Thanks! I reveal nothing. I will continue. And I don't think a child of Aeolus can fly, since he's a minor god. Maybe control wind and give a little spurt. I don't really know.
Carson:
-Thanks for the OC. But I already picked, I hope you like the story though!
Chapter 24
You know, after the whole quest I thought everything would get back to normal. It didn't. Percy and I were still close siblings, Silena and I were still BFF's, and I had fun with my friends, but one thing changed. I wasn't with Will anymore. We didn't have archery anymore, he didn't give me any guitar lessons and I waited every morning to see him after his daily shower. He stopped calling me Angel Fish for a long time; right now the Angel Fish was dead.
He was hanging out with Grace- the new girl. I liked her, but she was giving me the wrong vibe. Everyone backed away from her like she radiated something bad, but also some guys decided to hit on her. But there was a part of me that couldn't stand her, because of Will. Every time I see him he would hang out with Grace, just freaking Hades Grace.
I probably sound like a girl that is expressing her sore feelings in her diary. No way. I was currently slashing defenseless dummies with Aquarius, then Grace and Will showed up. Then Heath showed up. I lately have been hanging out with him a lot more than I thought. Why not? He was nice, funny and I could hang out with whoever I wanted. I wasn't thinking about Will right? Nope.
"Hey, Lex," Heath said amused, looking at the dummy who was chopped into stray bits. "Poor dummy."
I glanced up and blinked. "Hey, what's up?"
"You know, training and well yeah." He was so easy- going that it was so simple to talk to him. I didn't like him or anything, but it was nice to just talk with someone who could easily understand.
I nodded. Heath have gotten used to the normal demigod living, even though he wasn't in the same danger as the others, he still needed training.
Will and Grace showed up. Will was just wearing normal camp clothes, but he still looked good which annoys me so much. Grace had her glossy black hair in messy ponytail with strands falling out, black jeans and camp T-shirt. It also annoyed me how pretty she looked. Will was holding his golden bow and Grace used a beaten up newbie wooden bow. She would have trouble firing.
Will glanced at Heath and I, the way his eyes shined with amusement made me almost kick him in the soft spot. Whenever Heath looked at Grace he started blush and when he looked at Will he started to glare and hold his sword tighter.
Grace strolled casually towards us. She was beautiful in a dark and mysterious way. No wonder why Will and Heath liked her.
"Hey, Grace," I said lightly.
She smiled. "Hey, Alexis. What's up?"
I shrugged. "Pretty cool. You're training hard?"
Grace nodded. Heath gathered himself and started to look cool in a kind of I'm- better- than- you-way. "You like camp?" he asked.
Her dark eyes glittered. "Yeah, it's pretty awesome."
I don't know why, but I started to straighten my clothes. "Yo, Grace!" Will called, looking like he didn't even notice Heath and I. "You're ready?"
I felt that my stomach dropped. "You're teaching archery from Will?"
She looked at me confused. Maybe my voice sounded broken. "Yeah," she said quietly. "That's cool right?"
I tried to brighten up. "Of course. Go ahead."
Heath grabbed my hand in comfort. He knew that I liked Will and that state we were in now, he really understood, maybe it was the Aphrodite side of him showing up.
Will was looking appalled, but he covered it good, but I knew him to well. He was teaching Grace the basic, just like he did with me. I wondered if it was a routine that he hit on every girl by teaching them archery.
"I'm kind of in the mood for archery," Heath muttered. "You?"
I laughed. "Competition?" I asked.
"Get ready to be owned, Milano."
"In your dreams, Fall."
We picked out bow and lined up. Heath fired and when he did that Will did one thing I wished he didn't do in front of me. He put his arms around Grace, firing the bow with her. Need some new flirting moves, dude.
Grace was obviously blushing, who wouldn't when an incredibly cute guy puts his arms around you? Yeah and to make it worse it hit the bull's eye.
Heath hit the bull's eye with grace. The way he fired made him even more handsome. I gave him a 'good work' smile and then I got ready. All three of them were watching me, which was kind of annoying when they probably knew that I sucked.
I liked doing archery with Heath, he didn't care if I sucked, and he only found it funny. We always joked and played around like friends. Doing archery with Will was plain nerve wrecking when he was the son of Apollo.
I wanted to show him. I could be good in archery, I could show him that I was good without his help. My grip on the bow tightened. Hair blew across my face, but I didn't find that annoying. I prayed to Artemis, hopefully she would make my arrow straight because I was putting a boy into his place. Kind of like a 'girls rules' thing.
My grip loosened and my arrow sprung in full force. I felt like time went slow. My arrow stuck into the middle, so accurately that I thought it was impossible.
"Oh gods," I whispered, looking in awe where the arrow got stuck. At the bulls eye.
"Uh, wow?" Grace muttered.
"Wow," Heath agreed.
"Uh, how?" Will said in disbelief.
I faced him. I felt like I haven't seen his face properly in ages. His eyes were looking bewildered.
"I shot an arrow," I said, trying to act like I was talking to a five year old. It hurt me that he didn't believe I could shoot an arrow.
He studied my bow like I was a normal student. What's wrong with him? His eyes were same, which was a sign that he haven't gotten possessed.
I snatched the bow away from him and glared at him. "I didn't cheat, if you wonder."
He glared back. "So you just turned into a pro suddenly?" he shook his head. "I'm not buying that."
"What's wrong with you?"
He cocked up an eyebrow. Was all that resentment because I kissed his dad showing up? Maybe he was trying to move on; I need to find out why he was acting like this. Maybe he was too freaked out because of the kids. Or was it because of Heath? I don't know. If he was playing mean, I was not going to play nice. Not at all.
Grace butted in. "Uh, I'm kind of new here, but I'm pretty sure that you aren't acting normal towards each other."
Will shrugged. "We always acted like this."
I tossed my hair to the side, not like me at all. "Yeah," I scoffed. I crinkled my nose. Why did I?
Heath didn't look convinced. "Uh, no?"
I turned and left them. Did someone control me? No, but what's wrong with me?
I was glad that it wasn't any crazy fans here like God Idol. I had enough fan-crazed nymphs. I felt so different, I felt like one of those mean popular girls. But why was I acting like this? And more important, why did Will act like this?
As I moved, Grace ran towards to me. "Alexis, wait!" she shouted. "What's wrong?"
I glanced at her. Did I look troubled as I was? "Nothing's wrong," I said.
She raised her eyebrows. She looked kind of intimidating; her dark eyes looked like she was looking through my soul. "Have you and Will something going on?"
I felt like blood was draining from my face. "Eh no," I stuttered. I tried to change subject. "Uh, so how are people treating you?"
Her eyes narrowed. She was glaring at a passing camper. He got scared and ran away. "I'm fine, but you could see that I'm different."
"Everyone is different."
Grace shook her head. "Not like that. I mean, people are scared of me. I'm dark."
I frowned. "What do you mean with 'dark'?"
She sighed, as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "You don't understand."
I wanted to ask, but her eyes were pleading. "Do you remember anything about your dad or mom?"
She glared at me like the subject hurt her. "None of your business," she snapped.
I started to feel guilty. "Sorry."
Her eyes softened. "It's okay." She took out an IPod and took on the earphones on. She just walked away getting hooked up on the internet.
After the dinner I felt pretty bored. Heath got claimed when he was happily munching a pizza slice. The sign of Hermes caduceus was glowing over his head. Hermes claimed him first, so Heath got settled in the Hermes cabin. I think he was grateful, since the Aphrodite cabin wasn't the right place for him when the designer clothes were waiting for him. He was more like Hermes, more funny and easy- going.
So I wasn't with him. Katie was busy with the chores of her cabin, Percy was gone somewhere, Annabeth was currently reading a book, Kayla was healing a newbie, and Travis and Connor were busy ruining Katie's chores. I didn't find Silena anywhere so I settled to find her.
It was easier than I thought. She was hiding in a tree holding binoculars. For some reason I didn't find it odd even though it was pretty weird seeing a daughter of Aphrodite like this. I climbed up to her, she wasn't paying any attention and it was weird when I was making hell a lot of noise. Sorry if I'm not the best climber.
I slumped on the branch feeling tired. "What's up?" I asked.
She almost lost her cool binoculars. She widened her midnight blue eyes. "Oh my gods!" she yelped. "What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here? You don't like to climb."
Silena scoffed. "I don't like getting dirty."
"What are you looking at?"
She sighed. "Do you want to know?"
"Is it bad?"
"Pretty bad." She gave me the binoculars and I took them slightly hesitating. It couldn't be bad, right?
I looked at the direction she pointed in and I almost fell off the stupid tree. I wish I didn't see it. Will and Grace were strolling around the Strawberry field looking cozy while eating strawberries. They were casually talking, laughing like they had a nice time. It looked like a date.
"It looks like a date," Silena murmured next to me.
"It's definitely a date," I said, feeling my stomach churning. I wanted to jump and break every bone. I felt like was my heart was breaking into small pieces, it was jealousy and heart break mixed together.
"I- I don't understand…."
I ripped my gaze from the couple. "What don't you understand?" I asked her.
"Why Will is acting like this! He likes you; I know that, I'm the daughter of Aphrodite!"
I stared at her. "He likes me?"
She looked like she wanted to slap me. "Are you that blind? He saved you, you kissed, and he's obviously crazy for you!"
My mouth parted at the daughter of Aphrodite's outburst. "But it looks like he likes Grace."
"He better not," Silena sniffed. "I know a real crush when I see it. He's trying to make you jealous, that's it."
My stomach boiled. "By acting like he doesn't know me?"I asked defiantly.
"He's a son of Apollo! They tend to get jealous if the attention isn't at them! When you're out flirting with other guys his fatal flaws starts to kick in!"
I immediately knew that she was smarter than people give credit for. "And what's his fatal flaw?"
She hesitated. "I-I think envy. It's mostly connected with love, and when the person doesn't get the thing they want most he starts doing things. It's a pretty dangerous flaw."
"Dangerous? Like what?"
She shrugged. "Like killing maybe."
My mouth felt like sand. I could never imagine Will killing a person that is not a monster. He isn't cold-blooded.
"And why is he jealous?" I asked.
She stared at me. "Because you are flirting with other guys!"
"Who?"
"Hmm… I don't know. Maybe Heath?"
I laughed nervously. "Heath? We're friends!"
She hummed. "Sometimes it looks more than friendship."
Did it? I don't know, but I was sure about one thing. I needed to talk with Will.
I wasn't going to say his fatal flaw. He would probably get confused and scared when he gets to know that he could kill people. I searched for him, I found him at the archery range. Typical.
It was empty, he wasn't with Grace. I picked up a bow and lined up beside him. He glanced at me confused.
He was quiet, shooting perfect arrows. I didn't fire; I couldn't risk hurting him when I was supposed to talk to him.
"So…" I started. "Nice weather, huh?" Slap me please.
He stared me. His eyes were cloudy, and suddenly I was thinking on one thing. Was he using Grace to make me jealous? I never thought about it, but the thought suddenly passed me.
He cleared his throat. "Uh, yeah?"
I tried to smile. "The sky looks like your eyes," I blurted out.
He staggered back in surprise. "What?"
"Where's Grace?" I asked. The plan was not going well.
"But you said my eyes-"
"She's asleep?"
He raised his hand. "Wait."
I rambled. "I know why you are acting like this."
"What-"
"I'm not mad at you."
"I'm conf-"
"Let me explain."
He was looking at me with widened eyes. I couldn't decide what expression he had. "Okay?" he said confused. "First you say my eyes look like the sky."
"Yeah," I answered. "They are nice."
"You never said that to me."
I frowned. "Never? Well now I'm saying it."
"And you ask where Grace is?"
"Where is she?"
"In the Hermes cabin, I guess."
I inched closer to him. I haven't been that close to him for a while.
"And I'm acting like what…?" he asked.
"Like a selfish jerk."
His face started to redden. "I don't think you were any better."
"No, I wasn't," I admitted. "I only did it because you were acting weird."
"But you aren't mad at me, why?"
How could I explain it? "For a reason. It's not important," I mumbled quietly.
"Important? Is it important?"
"No," I said. "You don't have to worry."
"I think I have to. We were fighting, and then you suddenly aren't mad at me. Uh, I'm confused."
I realized that I had chosen my words poorly. Will didn't get anything; I only made him more confused. Should I say it? I think I should.
Instead of doing the long boring explanation, I just blurted it out. "Your fatal flaw is envy, Will."
"My-my fatal flaw?" he stuttered. "It's envy?"
"Pretty much."
"How did you know?"
I was going to give Silena the credit later. "Because I know you. Everyone knows you."
I probably sounded like a spooky girl from a horror movie. "But-"
Then I noticed a pink glow from the cabin area. I felt small and little suddenly. My gut was filled dread.
"What's that?" I gasped.
Will changed angle. "Someone's getting claimed," Will said. "I have to check it out."
I was about to complain, but I knew that he was right. It was probably important. We ran towards the cabins. In an area almost every camper was huddled in a huge circle. I couldn't see what was glowing. We pushed our way through the crowd.
Grace looked stunningly pretty. I mean she was glowing pink, and she got a total makeover. Her long hair was shiny and lush, curled into voluminous curls. Her caramel skin glowed pink and she wore a sleeveless black v-neck dress. It was pretty flowers around her neck along with necklaces. Her eyes were glittery silver and black lined with gold eyeliner, making her dark brown eye pop. Her plump lips were painted in a rose red color. She wore bracelets around her wrists and she was barefoot.
She was radiating beauty in a dark way, but she was Aphrodite's daughter?
I was lost for words. Everyone was silent, staring at her. She was uncomfortable, she was not enjoying her new look and she definitely did not enjoy the attention.
Chiron bowed. "Hail, Grace Collins daughter of Aphrodite. Goddess of love, beauty and doves."
Everyone bowed; even I did with my shock. I was so stunned, but I could still think clearly. This was just not… right. But I guess it was.
A/N: I made Willexis t-shirt and posters. The link to them is on my FF profile and the link is to my tumblr. I don't use it so much, only to fan art watching. Grace is different and I hope you wonder, but I won't reveal. I'm sorry if this is a bad chapter with lack of Willexis. And plus this is kind of fast written and I had problems writing this. I hope I didn't forget anything… oh! I'm close to 300 reviews, so pretty please? And I made a preview of Percy Jackson's Half Sister so if we reach to 300 reviews I will post it on the next chapter or maybe the next one. I had it for a while, but I'm not tossing it out, it's special so I wanted a reason. I haven't started on the other story, I just had some scenes that I just made now. I hope you like it and REVIEW!
