HI AGAIN two days in a row I am on fire! no Self loathing intros this go around but maybe just a bit of an explanation. That intro was a response to a not-so-nice PM I got after posting the first of the two chapters yesterday. This story seems to bring out a lot of those types of PM and usually they instantly get to me and cause to just flat out stop writing. So... I'm just not going to read any PM's or reviews for a while as then perhaps I'll actually finish this darn thing. So, in advance thank you to anyone who positively reviews or messages me I appreciate it and I apologizes for my inherint wimpyness if i haven't read it your kind words. I probably will suck it up again one day and read them so do feel free to leave them. These are SM's creations who have been forced into my fun little twisted world. thanks :) 3
DO YOU KNOW THE WAY TO SAN JOSE
"Dude! I thought you were just going to buy a new bed down in San Fran," Emmett complained, taking loud heavy gasps of air. "Wouldn't that of been a hell of a lot easier," he whined, holding up the king sized mattress for the finial steps into the truck.
"Wuss!" Rose laughed from somewhere deep inside the trucks belly. Her and Bella had plopped themselves onto Edward's red leather sofa, and were taking bets over which of their men would complain first. Rose was not happy to have lost that doomed bet.
Doomed, because from the start of their move, Edward's mind had been filled with nothing but flashbacks of pale white skin, soft urgent pink lips, and full loving brown eyes. The images from his rambunctious night with Isabella, wanton sex goddess, would not leave his brain. He had nothing to complain about. Yes, he had originally planned on buying a new bed just so he would have this one whenever he came to visit. But, now he couldn't part with the memories he they had just made in it.
Bella was feeling just the same this fine cold morning if not better. She was quite proud of herself, having successfully seduced and sexed her man into oblivion. Proud, and positivity bursting with excitement over the new found information Esme had given her.
Rose had spotted the sex glow upon Bella's face the minute she tipped toed into the kitchen. Normally, Rose would of happily announced her observation to the table, but the sore warm reminder Emmett had given her last night was still working its magic. So, she simple wiggled a bit and sent Bella a knowing wink and smile.
The rest of the morning flew by and with the loading of the truck, and the bed safely stowed away, all that was left to do was enjoy a few more hours in the fairy land that is Castle de Cullen AKA Bella's new safe place.
"Well, aww shucks, looks like I've done missed the big load up," Jasper's sarcastic chuckle came from behind the truck just as the boys were pulling the doors down. He had timed it perfectly.
"yeah, yeah... cowboy. Don't you worry you'll get your pay back in San Fran. The unloading is all on you... and you won't have these strong guns to lend a hand," Rose laughed, flexing her sculpted arms. "Trained by the inventor of Ta-Bo himself my dear... gotta love LA."
"Shes right you know," Emmett chuckled, "Its gonna be just you, Mr. lovestruck puppy dog over there, and two tiny lil fairies. I love baby sis but... well good luck getting her to do any lifting. Unless you tell her all the boxes are full of Jimmy Chos."
Jasper laughed as he gave Em a half hug hello, avoiding his sweaty arm pits. He wasn't quite ready to announce to the world that he'd just about volunteer to carry an entire house on his back if it meant he got to see Alice Cullen again. He was in love and he wanted to enjoy that feeling a bit more priviately first.
"So lovestruck puppy dog eh," Jasper asked, cocking his head towards the side of the truck to spy on Edward and Bella. Together they stood with Edwards large frame wrapped around Bella in an almost shield like manner. He was crouching down to rest his forehead upon hers and speaking what they could only assume were soft nothings to her. They had not noticed the arrival of the cowboy. Jasper sucked his teeth loudly, "My, my, my, they are really progressing along nicely..."
And he was right. At least for the moment, Edward and Bella had allowed themselves to just get swept away, forgetting all that they still needed to figure out.
"Miss Swan you have made a weak man out of me… I've broken my rule with you. I was not to touch you like that until we had things more... settled." Edward whispered close to Bella's ear.
"Oh, Mr. Cullen, maybe you are not remembering it very clearly... as I do believe I was the one doing most of the touching. Maybe I should go give you a quick recap?" Bella giggled, not even bothering to try and fight her rising blush.
"Good God woman, what has gotten into you?' Edward chuckled, brushing back her hair and finding himself needing to readjust his pants. "I leave you alone with Rose for one evening..."
Bella interrupted him by placing her lips upon his. She didn't want to mention that it was Esme and not Rose that Edward could thank for his molestation last night. Esme had given her a gift far better then Rose's lewd confidence. Hope. She had given her hope.
After Emmett carted Rose off caveman style, Esme gave Bella a nice long talk, speaking candidly and without hesitation. It was so very nice for Bella to not feel as if the world walked on eggshells around her. Together, they spoke of how Edward is a natural worrier, of how forming any relationship takes time and lots of trial and error, but even more so for these kinds of relationships, how communication is so key, and of how there are so many, many options out there for Bella and Edward to explore.
"You need to have patience. You must listen to your heart, Bella and not be afraid to follow it. You must not let your shyness keep you from talking to Edward. He is there for you, I know my son and I know that this is his sole wish, Bella. He wants to be there for you and he wants to do right by you. I also know you have gone through a lot- and I don't want to hear about any of it unless you want to tell me- but just trust me when I say that you can't rush this, you have to just let it flow. Educate yourself. Question everything. Write all your feelings down. Write. Write. Write. Bella, you are a writer and writers, write. Don't ever stop being you."
By the time they had finished talking, they were both teary eyed. Bella had found a mother and friend, and Esme a daughter and student. She was now damned determined to make sure Isabella found her way, and when Esme Cullen got determined things got done. Bella now had homework to do: she had to talk to Edward, and she had to research the websites Esme had directed her to. Sites, according to Esme, "that would be a great jumping off point for you to just see that things are not so black and white. The books I am sure you have read from Aro- well they are not the only cup of tea out there." Bella couldn't wait to get back to San Francisco.
And after four hours, two grills full of food and a million promises to return to visit both Forks and LA, they were all on their way. Edward and Bella driving in Edward's volvo and Jasper manning the Uhaul.
"Its a long way to San Jose love, why don't you have a rest if you can," Edward smiled, changing the music to a soft classical tune.
"Were only going to San Francisco" Bella chuckled.
"mmm close enough... besides what rhymes with isco?"
"Dork." Bella laughed, a laugh that turned into a yawn.
Edward noticed of course, and reached over to lay her seat down, ordering her, with a kiss on her hand, to "Sleep dorkett". She drifted off to sleep muttering odd combinations of fake isco words.
The music lulled the car, and Bella's sleeping mind into a peaceful state. She had no bad dreams this go around. In fact, she had no dreams of all. It felt as if merely a second had gone by when Edward rubbed reached over to rub his nose against hers three hours later.
"Sleeping beauty tis time for you to pee," Edward chuckled. He wanted to see if he could make her blush even in a semi unconscious state. He could.
"Have we stopped then?" Bella asked, squeezing her eyes shut even more tightly.
"mmmm yes, pet and even if you don't have to pee, I do and I'm not leaving you in the car alone in this bumpkin town. Jasper may be friendly but I don't know about the rest of cowboys. Open your eyes please and lets go inside," Edward whispered kindly, and Bella happily fluttered her eyes open.
The quick N pick road house was a one stop shop right off the interstate, and it appeared to also be the hot, hip, hang out place for the unruly teenagers of whatever one horse town they had pulled over at. The kids loafed outside, sitting on either the curb or their own skateboards, the girls in one group and the guys in another. They smoked cigarettes and popped gum. It reminded Bella of home.
Inside, Bella perused the tiny isles as she made her way to the restroom, browsing at mops, candy, cans of cat food, boxes of rice and old instant potatoes. They were all coated in a fine layer of dust and muck, yet they still made her tummy rumble. There was something about a box of mac and cheese that made Bella hungry and homesick, no matter how questionable the box may appear. She would have to give her parents a proper long phone call when she got back, and she wondered if she should mention Edward to them.
It was a question she could not answer just yet, and not because she was worried of what they would think of Edward, it was just the opposite. Bella was worried about allowing Edward to truly meet and see where she came from. Well, she was worried of a lot when it came to letting Edward Cullen into her life. In her eyes, she had already let her filter down much too much. She expected him to simply vanish any second now, and for a moment Bella allowed herself to get lost in the thoughts of what she would do if Edward did leave her. It hurt her stomach. It hurt her heart. And, it made for a much longer pee break then she normally would of taken.
Edward didn't mind waiting for his woman though. He simply lounged on the hood of his car, stretching a bit, with his eyes trained on the door. He enjoyed watching the way Bella moved, graceful in her own fidgety awkward sort of way. He watched her weave her way back, chewing on her hair with her eyes clearly clouded in deep thought. I want to live inside that head of hers, he thought, desperately wanting to know all the things that popped up into her very active imagination. Good things, and bad things.
He fully intended on asking her what the matter was. That is until he watched her stop in her tracks and saw her face light up with joy. Quickly, Bella grabbed a hand held basket and dumped a large amount of something into it.
"Shit" Edward muttered as he sprung to his feet to go back into the store. He didn't want Bella to pay for anything she needed on a trip to she took to help him.
But by the time he reached the counter, Bella had already paid. There she stood, large gigantic smile sprawled across her heart shaped face, quite literally jumping up and down on the balls of her feet.
"I know what rhymes with San Francisco". She screeched to Edward.
"huh?"
"I know what rhymes with Francisco!" She repeated, shoving her large plastic bag into Edward's hands.
Edward peaked into the bag, and then immediately burst out laughing. Inside, were boxes and bags of not so good for you treats. Treats all with the big red Nabisco on them.
"Its a long way to San Francisco babes so why don't you eat some Nabisco!" Bella giggled out loudly.
Edward shook his head as he tried to stifle his laughter, "And you call me a dork," he spat, picking up a nutter butter and bouncing it off of Bella's head. "If I am a dork, then you are a nutter! Now, come on nutter-butter lets go, or Jasper might really beat us there. And by the way... you got all these goodies so you better eat some of them too."
Bella stuck her tongue out at this comment. "Well fine buddy you can just feed it to me then because," she paused dramatically, "first one to the car gets to drive," she screamed before twirling to take off towards the car.
It took a second for all of this to registrar with Edward. But still he caught her in no time, picking her up from around the waist. "Sorry, princesses get chauffeured around," Edward laughed, as he carried her over the passenger seat, fighting the urge to slap her now upturned bum.
Bella eeked and squeaked at the indignity of it all. She was no princess, and she told Edward so.
"mmmm hmmm but you are my princess and I want to drive so you park your little tush to my left. You can control the radio this time."
"But who ever will feel me then?" Bella blinked excessively, "As a princess I cannot be bothered to lift thy arm, I must have a peasant servant."
"oh... I'll feed you something alright, but its I you will be serving" Edward responded immediately, the image of Bella going down on him as they flew down highway 101 filling his mind.
Bella gasped and smirked at his innuendo. Edward barked inwardly to himself. He could not believe the things that come into his mind and out of his mouth when he was around this woman.
"I'm sorry love, I am not usually so lewd. I don't know what is coming over me these days." Edward sighed.
"You mean you are not usually this funny, or sexy, or easy going, Edward. Keep it up please I love it." Bella responded with genuine happiness.
"Alright my dear, I will see what I can do in that department for you," Edward chuckled. "Now, DJ Bella what will we be listening to for the next few hours?"
A naughty glint sparkled in Bella's eyes and she took hold the radio remote control. "Really Cullen? A remote for a car radio?"
"Mmmm... well if you don't want it..."
"No give me that thing..." Bella growled.
For the next three hours Edward enjoyed listening to Bella's acletic taste in music. She was a habitual clicker switcher though, usually never allowing a full song to play out before switching to the next. Rap, rock, country, hip-hop, jazz. She played it all. Not only that, but she also sang them. Every single one of the songs Bella seemed to know all the words to it and she whispered them under her breath as she would stare out the window, lost in her own little world. Edward only wished she would feel comfortable enough to let lose and sing fully.
One day, he thought and hoped, one day she will be full Isabella with me, and then I will have no hope. My heart will be gone and I shall marry her.
Bella put her head down and fell asleep to the sad sounds of a Fine Frenzy playing. Edward took notice that she seemed very fond of this band. He let the song play out listening closely to the words...
"He and I were something beautiful
but so dysfunctional it couldn't last
I loved him so, but I let him go because I knew he'd never love me back
Such pain as this shouldn't have to be experienced
I'm still reeling form the lost still a little bit delirious
yeah yeah
me to you
I am healing but its taking so long
because though he's gone and you are wonderful
its hard to move on
yet, I'm better near to you.
You and I are something different and I'm enjoying it cautiously
I'm battled scared, I am working oh so hard to get back to who I use to be
He's disappearing, fading suddenly. I'm so close to being yours won't you stay with me, please..."
