authors notes: ch 26, last time i left you guys off with a bit of a cliffhanger, we will continue where we left off, and we may even finish with the party aswell, btw, you guys are awsome.

Chapter 26: No.1s return part 2

previously:

"what are you planning fowl?"

"im planning...a project...this project is about transforming myself into an elf..for Holly."

Foaly's lab, now:

The commander almost asked Artemis to repeat himself, but he knew, he knew that Artemis was dead serious, it was the look in his eyes, a look that showed resolve, that showed determination, however beyond that they showed Love, Love for Holly, a love that he could never give Holly...Artemis on the other hand could, he could make Holly happy, but he also knew that he could also be her downfall.

"what do you mean by that?" the commander asked.

"It is exactly as it sounds, i will be giving up my life as a human to become a fairy, an elf, so that i can fulfill Holly's wish to be with me." Replied Artemis.

"You sound awfully full of yourself, how do you know Holly wants to be with you? how do you know if she even loves you?" Stated the commander, who had gotten a little ticked of by his cockyness.

"...I know, i have heard Holly say it, screamed it even, to Butler who was burying his nose into someone else's buisness, but because of his actions i know what i must do to make holly happy, i must become an elf."

The commander was beaten there, Artemis claimed he heard Holly say what, no who she wanted , and he could see little reason for him to lie on this matter, this left the commander deflated, he knew that he couldnt compete for Holly anymore for by the sounds of it, he had allready lost her ages ago now, this left the commander with many questions like, what now? and, will holly really be happy, but the biggest question on his mind wasnt about Holly.

"What about you Artemis, what do you feel? do you Love Holly back?" The commander asked in a strong tone, note wanting everyone here to hear how defeted he was.

Artemis didnt reply for what felt like ages, he just stood there eyeing the commander up, after all he never like to just that precious information like that out, after all Information could be damning, depending on how you use it, After awhile he decided.

"I do, I Love Holly and i have Loved her for quite some time." Replied Artemis

"Finally a confession, Mulch will owe me soo many cartons of carrots." Exclaimed Foaly with excitment.

"Foaly, what did i say? none of this leaves this room, we will keep this secret, or may frond have mercy on your computers." Artemis threatend.

"Wait, why are you keeping this a secret, does Holly know?" Asked the commander in slight confusion.

"No Holly will hopefully not find out until its to late for her to stop me, you see this proceedure may be very dangerious...that and we actually havnt found a way for the transformation yet." Replied Artemis

"Wait...what? you mean that you actually havnt found a way for you to transform yet? ...so your keeping it from Holly to prevent her from getting her hopes up"

"Exactly" Stated Artemis "the three of us, or well, me and Foaly have been trying to find a way for awhile now, however we needed No.1's help before we could come up with anything more plausable then the solutions we have allready came up with." Exclaimed Artemis

"I see...ok then, i will help you out, if this is the only way to make Holly truly happy, then count me in, i might not be able to help with research however if funds are necissary for a build then i can be of assistance." Stated Trouble

"Ok then...welcome to the team...i guess." stated Artemis as soon as he got over his slight shock at the commander for actually wanting to help him, Holly was right, he is a good person.

"Now, how about he get on with that other plan then?" Stated Foaly as he locked and soundproofed the room (something he should have done from the begining)

"Another plan?" Asked Trouble.

"yes, this plan is actually childs play compared to what i ust told you." Stated Artemis as he hopped up onto a table and lied down "lets commense" he stated before Foaly put him under.

meanwhile:

Holly was having quite the time at the party, she had spent quite some time talking with Caballine while Artemis was busy, the two females even continued to talk as the food was being served, seeing as they where at the same table and all, they mostly talked about what was happening in Haven, like the rise, and fall, of a new goblin general who accidentaly caught their base on fire and proceeded to call the fire department and had accidentally let slip that the building was important for their criminal activitys, Honestly, goblins are so freakin dumb.

After that the two talked about Holly's time on the surface, Holly talked about how it was wonderfull, the fresh air (dispite the pollutants) and the fresh fruit that the fowls had been growing, everything was so...differant compared to life in Haven, Life underground, Holly told Caballine sll about her adventures while on the surface, she talked about the one time Mulch broke into fowl manor and was given a scare so badly that he completly turned his life around, which explains why he joined the LEP, Holly told her about Artemis's new work out schedule and how she had been helping Butler to whip Artemis into shape, sometimes quite literaly, Holly then went on about her trip to London to try on dresses for Minerva's wedding to which she whould attend as the Brides maid, she didnt leave out the fact that Artemis had practicly been drooling once he saw her in the dress, Caballine and Holly shared a laugh at that.

"So thats pretty much what i've been up to." Said Holly as she finished her story of her surface time.

"Sounds like quite the time, and all the while you spent it with Artemis." Stated Caballine with soft smile.

"Yeah...that was probably the best part, i never got to see much of Artemis until now, before it was just to difficult to get visa's, when he was dealing with Atlantis complex it was...easier to go to see him however it was still hard seeing him, especially when i didnt know if i would be greeted by Artemis or Orion, thats why right now is a special time for me, im able to see him pretty much whenever i want, its great." Replied Holly with a love sick smile on her face.

"So, i heard you fought a troll recently, i swear trouble follows you around." Stated Caballine

"what do you mean?" Asked Holly.

"I mean there hasnt been a troll sighting in the city for quite awhile, and then you show up and BOOM, troll on the loose."

"Must be my incredable Luck i guess." smiled Holly

"You call that luck?" Asked Caballine.

"Well, i did survive going head to head with it." Replied Holly, smile not moving an inch.

"I guess thats lucky, its either that or you are just too awsome to worry about trolls."

"I like to think its a little bit of both." smiled Holly.

"Well lets hope it stays that way or else next time you may not be so lucky."

"I'm trying not to make it a thing you know, the trolls just find me, i swear the troll pheromones still havnt came out." Replied Holly.

"That was ages ago now, how long do you think they could have lasted." Stated Caballine.

"I guess im just paranoid then, speaking of paranoid, how long is Foaly going to stay in his lab, its been 2 hours since they left." Excalimed Holly.

"My husband told my that it was very important, so im assuming that he is taking every precaution as to prevent failure." Replied Caballine.

"...You mean he is just really paranoid."

"yes, that too." smiled Caballine.

Foalys lab:

Foaly was doing calculations on his computer while No.1 was standing beside Artemis who was still out on the table, Trouble had decided to take a seat where he could just observe while staying out of the way, it was a few minutes later that Foaly had turned away from his computer.

"How's if going No.1?" Foaly Asked the young warlock.

"Just fine, good, splended, wonderful- sorry i tend to do that when im excited, im almost done, just got to give him a couple more sparks of magic and he will be ready to wake" Replied No,1.

"I swear Artemis just likes to make near impossible plans and then bring them to fruition." Stated Trouble.

"I agree with you there Commander." Repleid Foaly.

"There, all done, now can i get back to the party please?" Asked No.1 in a pleading puppy dog tone, he tried the look aswell but lets just say it doesnt suit a demon warlock.

"Go ahead No.1, just remember, everything done today is a secret, got that?" Asked Foaly

"Yep, got it, now... its party time." Ecalimed No.1 as he ran off, back to where the party was.

"That little demons got way to much energy." Mumbled Foaly.

"I agree" Stated Trouble

Foaly then walked over to where Artemis was lieing and injected a serum that will dissolve the sleeping agent from his body, Artemis would still be tired when he woke however with this they wont have to wait for another hour, plus and adrenaline patch will fix the tired part anyway. a few minutes later and Artemis opened his eyes.

"Im guessing it was a success." Stated Artemis.

"yep, that project is now finished." stated Foaly who tossed a case to Artemis who surprisingly caught it.

"Thanks Foaly."

"No prob, now im heading back to my wife, Trouble, care to come with?" Exclaimed Foaly

"Sure, lets go." Replied the commander as he took of behind Foaly.

Artemis was the only one left in the room now, and thats the way he wanted it, he needed a few minutes to recouperate, his entire body felt heavy, but everything went as plan so there wasnt much to worry about now, the only thing he still had to worry about was his dance with Holly, it wasnt so much worry then it was excitment, however he knew he couldnt dance with his body feeling this heavy, its a good thing he knew where Foaly keeped the adrenaline patches or when he was working late, Artemis proceeded to the cabnet which held the patches and after quickly applying one to his shoulder he felt re-energized, after using the item in the case tossed to him by Foaly he made his way back to the party, he had just turned the corner to the hall with th gym at the end when he ran into Trouble who looked as if he had been waiting for him.

"Commander, i didnt think we'd meet again so soon." exclaimed Artemis.

"I know, however i just cant get this thought out of my head." Exclaimed Trouble.

"And what thought would that be?" Artemis asked.

"What if it goes wrong, what if you die again, Holly will be broken i know it, the only reason she didnt break the first time was because she had a glimer of hope but this time, what if its for good." Trouble exclaimed, it was about a minute before Artemis responded.

"Thats why im taking my time, i will proceed with the plan once there is a high enough percent chance of survival, i will not leave Holly again, Not after i've seen the scars from the first time." Stated Artemis with a determination of steel.

"You make sure you survive then, cause if not im sure the late commander Root will have some choice words and actions for you in the After life." Trouble smiled a bit.

"Im sure he would." Replied Artemis with a small smile of his own.

After that the two entered the gym and went their seperate ways, Trouble went to look for his brother while Artemis went to find Holly, he had a promise to keep to Holly. Artemis walked around for a bit before he spotted Holly talking wit Caballine, he decided to let them be for a while so he took the long way around and on the way he ran into a few familiar faces, he stopped and chatted for a little with each of them however he allways left them saying the same thing, "sorry, i must be off, im sure Holly is looking for me and im sure that if it takes to long then she will get violent" everyone seemed to understand and let Artemis be off, and then finaly, after about 15 minutes taking the long way around, he finaly made it bac to Holly.

"Im back." Stated Artemis as he came up to the two.

"Hey, so how'd it go?" Holly asked.

"Everything went perfect, besides a slight bumb that actually turned into a good thing." Replied Artemis.

"Thats good, why is it that the big bumbs that change everything only happen during our world saving adventures?" Holly asked.

"maybe someone up there does'nt like us." Repleid Artemis.

"I dont remember knocking over any shrine or anything, you?"

"I might have done some awful things in my past but i would never do that, even i know that there just might be a higher power pulling the strings, and if there was then i wouldnt want to directly offend them." Replied Artemis.

"By the way Artemis, before you two get too into this conversation, has my husband returned to the party aswell?" Caballine Asked.

"Yes he has, Foaly actually should hae arrived before me, i had some calculations i still had to do so Foaly left before me." Replied Artemis.

"Ok then, if you two dont mind im going to go hunt him down, cya later Holly, Artemis." stated Caballine as she took of to look for her husband, Artemis and Holly both smiled as she left in pursiut of Foaly.

After that the two had settled into a confortable silence, each one just enjoying the comfort of being around the other, they both watched as No.1 and Grub started their dance back up, and everyone once again turned to watch the spectacle, the two couldnt help but laugh at their friend, he looked so happy, then again he almost always looks happy, and Artemis and Holly both have respect for that trait, he's able to look at the positives and speak his mind, something that if they had had then they would probaly have their whole feelings for each other sorted out by now, however just then, as if the gods themselves wanted to move things along, a slow song stated and the two were reminded of a certain promise, with Artemis being the oh so perfect gentleman he is he decided to start first.

"May i have this dance?" Artemis asked with his hand outstretched while he bowed.

"Of coarse, you did promise after all." Replied Holly who took his hand.

Artemis then swung Holly and himself out to the dance floor, with all eyes on No.1 still they had hardly any watchers for their slow dance, hardly any, luckly only their friends had seen them, those being Foaly, Caballine, Trouble, and Mulch (which may have not been so lucky). At the start they danced liked anyone else who had danced a slow dance, so it was a bit awkward at first, however about halfway through they started to feel more insync and the dancing went from awkward to smooth and lively, like a calm river, the two moved flawlisly to the sound of the music each one following the others moves with pin point accuracy, any one of the onlookers would compare it to when those two where in a critical moment when life and death was everything, and they would lock into this mode where they looked as if they could read each others thoughts with their actions being linked and seperate and smooth and... almost like a ballet, all onlookers whould think of how perfect they where for each other, with this dance they where able to show there bond to everyone else...now if only they themselves had been watching, the song then ended and the two retook their place where they were before, this time sitting on nearb chairs for obvious reasons.

"Thank you for the dance, Artemis." Holly said with a bright smile.

"It was my pleasure, Holly" Artemis Replied with a bright smile of his own.

"Look at those two, they really are perfect for each other." Stated Caballine who had been on the other side of the room watching them.

"I know, i wish they would just hook up already, it would make it easier for them." Replied Faoly who had also been watching.

"Yes it would, but i guess they will tell each other when their ready." Stated Cabaline with a smile.

"I dont see the problem, i practicly proposed to you the first time i met you." Replied Foaly with a smile that showed he was happy and embarassed at the thought.

"Not everyone can be as smooth as you, and besides, we arent different species, hell, our species helped us get together with there being fewer centaurs then any other fair family." Stated Caballine.

"I know, however its still Love that kept us together after Terra, and about their different species, i wouldnt be to worried, i mean Artemis literaly came back from the dead, im sure he can figure something out." Replied Foaly smugly.

"Oh really? And what do you know of Artemis's plans?" Caballine Asked with a stern voice that said i know you know something and i want to know what you know.

"I dont know why you would think i knew anything about Artemis's plans? i stopped keeping tabs on him." Replied Faoly.

"Because, he needed your help to come back to life so why not ask for your help in this matter." Replied Caballine who practicly had foaly in an iron grip.

"Ok, fine but dont tell anyone ok, too many people know allready." Stated Foaly as he motioned for his wife to follow him out of the hall, no need for anyone else to overhear the conversation, as they found a spot far enough awa Caballine spoke.

"Ok, no one will hear us here, now spill it, what do you know?"

"*sigh* Sorry Artemis, Artemis is planning on using No.1s magic to turn himself into an elf, so he can be with Holly." Stated Foaly in defeat.

"He's...doing what?! is that even possible? so he does love Holly, Does he know that Holly loves him back? spill more detail, now." Caballine bombarded Foaly with questions.

"It might be possible, No.1 has agreed to try, yes he does love Holly and yes he knows, its Artemis after all, and you will not say one word, got that, let it happen naturaly." Stated Foaly

"I know, i wouldnt dream of interfering anyway, im just going to watch them like its one of your soap opera's." Stated Caballine.

"Good, now lets get back before someone starts looing for us" Stated Foaly as he grabbed his wife's hand and led her back to the party.

The party continued on for a few more hours, No.1 danced for most of those hours however grub couldnt take much more and as such collapsed about an hour and a half into their second verse, Mulch had eaten his full so he declaired the party a success aswell, Foaly and Caballine spent the rest of the party talking with Artemis and Holly about surface life and their daily lives, Artemis basicly filled in the details Holly had told Caballine about earlier, And Trouble, well lets just say that Hollys friend Clair had showed up, and she managed to confront Trouble about her feelings, Trouble had stated that he didnt usualy want date anyone he didnt know, Clair almost ran away crying before Trouble Continued with "But i guess it couldnt hurt to see how it goes with a beautiful pixie as herself" Clair almost passed out with that, the two continued talking After that, to get to know each other, unbeknownst to them, Holly had been watching, and she noticed how Trouble grew softer as they continued talking, 'their really hitting it off' was Holly's thought while she watched them, so all in all, it was a good night for everyone, which was brought to an end when it was time to give No,1 his welcome back gifts that some had gotten him, After that it was still a few minutes before everyone had left, including Artemis and Holly who returned to Holly's apartment for a good nights sleep, the two had grown very tired from the excitment of the party, the two were so tired that when they fell onto the bed they instintly wrapped their arms around each other as they fell asleep before any thoughts on the matter could be thought, so yeah all in all, it was a pretty good night, especialy if you ask Artemis and Holly.

Authors notes: well there you have it, the party is all and done with, Trouble seems to have a new woman in his eye (might touch back on that later) and the plan is revieled, but will it go smoothly, esspecialy knowing Artemis and Holly's track record? who knows, I hope you enjoyed, until next time.
