Ok guys, sorry for the wait for this chapter. I apologise for my irregular update schedule, but I try to update where I can. In order to make it up to you, after this chapter, I'm planning a crossover event, in the vein of Deadpool Corps. There will be a crossover of several different Jennys into one story, and I can even tell you what the cast of this crossover is going to be, and which stories they are from.

Jenny-the Avenger: Obviously the Jenny from this story, will probably be referred to as Avenger Jenny, as if I don't put a prefix in front of each Jenny, you won't know who's talking.

The Soldier: My other fanfiction featuring Jenny in the 40k universe.

Jen Stacy: OC created specifically for the crossover, the Doctor and Jenny are stranded on Earth and adopt the names John and Jen Stacy. Think Gwenpool, but with Jenny, a character that knows she's in a fanfiction.

Red Head Jen: The second regeneration of Jenny in a series of stories by dudelove85 where the 11th Doctor regenerated into a woman. At the time of writing, I've only really read up to the end of Family Affairs, so my story will probably be set inbetween that and the Coal Hill Chronicles.

Wizard Jenny: From a story by Calamari on Gallifrey, where Jenny is the daughter of Ten and Rose on a Parallel Earth, and gets a Hogwarts letter.

This chapter, however, will see Jenny bumping into the Guardians of the Galaxy (some time in the future, when Groot is fully grown again).

It was time to relax for a while. Jenny had been running around the galaxy for a while, and while she loved the running, sometimes, it was a benefit to slow down and take in the scenery for a while. It had been a year since she had taken custody of Hope, and she had started to come into her mutant abilities. Her powerful telekinetic powers, with enough concentration, could lift anything, and her telepathic powers oftentimes overwhelmed her. Not knowing how it was best to train her, Jenny took to finding spots that were isolated from civilisation, where there were few minds, or none at all, and began helping Hope train to control her telepathy, to turn it off, so she wouldn't be overwhelmed. There were other things Jenny taught Hope, as well: the use of the weaponry that she carried with her, and how to control her telekinetic powers so that she wouldn't rip buildings apart with a thought.

They had come to Xandar, the capital of the Xandarian Empire, for Hope's first real test. One of Jenny's old contacts in the Time Agency had told her that someone had contacted him, looking for her. He suggested that what he wished to say may be of interest to her. Unable to get much more than these vague hints, Jenny resolved to travel to Xandar and find out for herself, the other reason why they were here.

"I think your contact is here," said Hope. She had matured alot over the last year. Hearing the voices in so many people's heads at once, as opposed to the small group she had been hearing before, had matured her, as she tried to learn how to control her mutation "I think your contact set you up."

Jenny looked in the direction Hope was looking, and saw a man in a red leather jacket and helmet pulling out a gun. Jenny grabbed Hope, and dived out of the way, as a stun blast obliterated the bar stool she had been sitting on moments before. She ran for the nearest door and ran outside, dodging more blasts from her assailant's gun. Placing Hope down on the ground, she continued running, as Hope ran with her. What happened next surprised her so much, she stopped running. Blocking her path, was a racoon standing on two legs. It took her a moment to realise the racoon was holding a rocket launcher, too late to stop it as it fired a net towards her. Hope stepped in-front of Jenny and, using her telekinesis, turned the net around, so that it fell on-top of the racoon.

"Hey!" said the racoon "It's not polite to turn someone's weapon against them. I'll just get my friend, Groot to teach you some manners!"

As he said it, a shadow fell over the two of them, and Jenny looked up to see a massive, hulking tree-like being swinging one of its arms at her. Knowing it would hit them if she didn't do something, she drew her Starktech pistol, and shot twice into the tree-man' shoulder joint, burning through it and causing his arm to fall to the ground.

"I'm sorry!" said Jenny "You were trying to kill me, though." She turned, and ran to a staircase leading down, Hope following close behind.

A green-skinned alien walked out to block her path. She had a sword over her back, but she stood there in a ready combat stance.

"You don't want to fight me, Jenny," said the alien "The bounty said you were to be captured alive. I can't guarantee you'll have any limbs remaining if you insist on fighting me."

"I see you are skilled," said Jenny "And that you mean what you say. But it's not just myself I'm protecting."

"I can understand your reasoning," said the woman, as she drew her sword "Let me propose an agreement. Our crew are all about second chances. I beat you, we take you in for the bounty, we find out what the agenda of the one's who put out the bounty, and if we don't like it, we'll take the bounty, and then free you. If you beat me, you'll have earned my respect, and a place on our team if you want it. You will, of course, be free to leave at any time you wish, and if you should ever need help, we will be there."

"Interesting proposal," said Jenny "What happens to Hope in this agreement, bounty hunter?"

"In either case, she'll be free to go," said the green-skinned alien "And you may call me Gamora."

"Very well," said Jenny. She drew her own sword, and moved into a ready position. The two warriors circled each other, their eyes locked.

"First one to yield loses," said Gamora, as she opened up with an uppercut, which would have sliced into Jenny's stomach, if she hadn't jumped back out of the way. Gamora's attack was fast and ferocious, giving Jenny no opportunity to attack, so focused was she on defence, moving backwards as Gamora pressed her attack. Jenny was sweating, as she blocked Gamora's attacks, each one would have taken her out of the fight if she hadn't blocked it.

"Fight back!" Gamora shouted between blows as Jenny got closer to the wall. Unable to make an attack with her sword, Jenny channelled her regeneration energy into the blade, sending a shockwave out of the blade that knocked Gamora off her feet. Jenny ran up the wall, back-flipped to stand next to Gamora's head, and put her blade to Gamora's throat.

"I yield," said Gamora. Jenny reversed her grip on her sword, and sheathed it, before helping Gamora to her feet.

"She fights with honour," said Gamora "She'll be an excellent fit for the team."

Jenny looked around to see that the other people that had been chasing her were now surrounding the two of them.

"Wait, was this whole thing a test?" asked Jenny "There's no bounty, is there?"

"I am Groot," said the tree-man

"I am Groot?" Jenny replied

"I am Groot," the tree-man affirmed.

Jenny put her head in her hands "So there is a bounty, but you've no idea who put it out on me. I don't need to deal with this right now."

"You speak Flora Colossus?" asked the racoon, seeming surprised.

"I speak everything," said Jenny "My father taught me, he was an ambassador."

The helmeted one removed his helmet, and Jenny was surprised to see that he was human.

"Well, that explains the racoon," said Jenny, and pointed at the unhelmeted one "You're from Earth."

"Why do people keep sayin' I'm a racoon?" said the racoon "The name is Rocket."

Jenny heard a giggle, and looked over to where Hope had been standing, watching the fight "Rocket Racoon. That's funny."

As Rocket began moving towards Hope, Groot put his still-attached arm in front of him, preventing him from moving forward. Jenny saw that he had a murderous look in his eyes.

"I apologise, Rocket," said Jenny "That was insensitive of me. And Hope is sorry, too." She gave Hope a stern look, and turned back to the human, and held out her hand "Jenny, Former Time Agent, Avenger, Traveller and Soldier."

The human took her hand "Peter Quill, otherwise known as Star Lord. Daring Outlaw, Adventurer, Guardian, Former Celestial."

"I met a Celestial once," said Jenny "Nice guy, but he had the ego the size of a planet."

"That's my dad," said Peter "He's dead now."

"I'm sorry," said Jenny

"Don't be, he was trying to destroy the galaxy," said Peter "We kind of stopped him. That's what we do. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy."

"And who are they?" asked Jenny. There was complete silence in the people surrounding her.

"You've never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy?!" asked Gamora "What rock have you been living under?"

"In case you've forgotten, I'm a time traveller," said Jenny, rolling her eyes "I don't spend a lot of time in different periods, I like to explore different time periods, and I usually do that on Earth."

"Anyway, I'm still not convinced," said Rocket "Maybe we need to test her out on mission."

"I am Groot?" Groot suggested

"What kind of investigation?" asked Jenny, her interest piqued by Groot's suggestion.

"One of the planets on the edge of the Nova Empire went dark not too long ago," said Peter "Nova kept it under wraps, but there was a distress call sent out to Nova Prime. The other reason we're here is to hear that distress call, so that we are prepared for what could be waiting for us when we arrive there."

"Then lead the way," said Jenny, as the Guardians began walking. Two other beings joined the group. One was a hulking, green-blue alien, who gave Jenny a nod as he filed into the group. The other was a humanoid plant alien who appeared to be avoiding eye contact with anyone else.

As they walked into the Nova Prime command centre, they were ushered into a room, where one of Nova's security officers was standing next to a holo projector in the centre of the table.

"Denarian Day," said Peter "It's good to see you."

"I never thought I'd see the day where Nova would have to ask the Guardians of the Galaxy for help," said Day "But this is… I think it would be better if I just show you."

He pressed play on the holo projector, revealing a red-skinned alien wearing overalls. The tools on her belt marked her as some kind of engineer.

"My name is Sal Ree, and I'm the head engineer on Seta Base, we have been attacked by an unidentified force. Requesting immediate backup and evacuation."

They heard the sound of some kind of laser weapon, and then a high-pitched voice repeating the word "Exterminate!"

"I can't stay here anymore, we're being overrun," said Sal Ree "I'm saving what people I can and going to a safe location, but I'm leaving this recording playing, so that you may see what assails us and prepare accordingly."

As soon as she had heard the word "Exterminate!" however, Jenny was no longer in the room. She was back in a moment from her past:

'There was a war.' Said her father.

'Like this one?' Jenny replied, but for the first time, as the Doctor explained about the Time War, she saw images from that conflict, the metallic creatures called Daleks, vowing to exterminate everything that they came across.

"Jenny? Jenny?" an accented voice she had never heard was speaking, and she shook herself out of the vision. She looked to the right to see the humanoid plant alien shaking her, but the alien was crying when she looked at her. Jenny gently took her hand off her, and then held it, as she looked back at the hologram, to see one of the same creatures that she had seen in her vision gliding into the room.

"Engineering section is secure," it said "Proceeding to science section."

As it moved to glide out of the room, its top level swivelled around to look right at the holo projector. Its middle section rotated, showing a gun and a plunger. The gun fired, and the holo-message ended in static.

"I'm sorry," said Jenny "You're an empath, aren't you? I'm sorry that you had to feel that."

She looked up at the table, which were looking at her strangely.

"The creatures that attacked your outpost are known as Daleks," said Jenny "They are creatures that have been bred to feel only hate, bred to do one thing, and one thing only: destroy."

"How do we kill them?" asked the hulking alien.

"Not easily," said Jenny "They have a forcefield that stops most conventional weapons from doing much at all. Bullets are disintegrated before they reach its hull, and even then, its hull is made of a substance called Dalekanium, which is difficult to break through."

"We may have some options," said Peter "We'll have to see what else we're up against when we get there. Sal Ree and her people may still live when we get there if we go now."

"I've been instructed to give you any equipment you need, and offer you 4000 units on completion of the job," said Day

"We don't need payment, Day," said Peter "These Daleks sound like they're a threat to all of reality. We don't need payment to deal with them. Rocket, tell him what you'll need. The rest of you, back to the Milano."

Milano- Ship of the Guardians of the Galaxy

"What information do you have on the outpost they attacked?" asked Jenny, as she accessed the Milano's systems, breezing past any security that had been set up in less than ten seconds. She wasn't as good a hacker as Skye, but she was a fast learner. She brought up some colonisation information on the outpost.

"Interesting," said Jenny "There seems to be a strange energy here I've never seen before. The colony was apparently set up here to study it, but this energy, where's it coming from, and where is it going?"

"Is it thermal?" asked Peter "Could be tectonic movement."

"That would need a release somewhere," said Jenny "But it never comes above the ground. It covers far too much of an area to be thermal. But I'm pretty sure it's natural."

"Why are the daleks interested in an energy source?" asked Peter

"I don't know," said Jenny "But I think we're going to find out."

Rocket had just returned to the ship, hauling a massive hover platform piled high with guns and parts.

Peter sat down in the cockpit of the Milano, and began taking off.

Milano- in transit

"You're doing great, Hope," said Jenny, as she logged into the Time Agency database. While she had essentially gone rogue by not bringing in Jack Harkness, her password still functioned.

Hope was sitting in the lotus position, as various parts and pieces of the ship floated around her.

Jenny had taken the energy readings located in the Milano, and was currently cross-referencing it with different energy sources that the Time Agency had come across over the course of their investigations into the time stream. It was taking a while, and Jenny didn't want to stay in the system too long. She still wasn't a hundred percent certain it wasn't the Time Agency that had put out the bounty on her.

Leaving the program running for now, she turned back to Hope. "Keep your focus and relax. You don't want to lose control."

"E-excuse me," Jenny turned to see the plant alien that she had spoken to before "May I speak with you?"

"There's no need to be so shy," said Jenny "Come on in, sit down with us."

The plant alien entered and sat down, wringing her hands as she did.

"I apologise, but I don't know your name," said Jenny

"Mantis," said the plant alien "What I saw. That pain I experienced. Was it yours?"

"Not exactly," said Jenny "My species has a telepathic link with each other. I didn't realise it at the time, I only saw what I saw just now. I'm not sure why it happened just now."

"I do," said Mantis, and she tentatively gestured to Hope "Her power, it's to awaken power within others. My power is that when I touch people, I feel their feelings, but when I touched you, I saw the same vision you saw. I think that was your human."

There was a clatter as some of the parts Hope had been levitating fell to the ground.

"I'm sorry," said Hope, looking directly at Mantis.

"It's not your fault, human," said Mantis "You didn't know, and I didn't know until I touched The Old One."

"Sorry, The Old One?" asked Jenny "What do you mean?"

"That's what your species is, isn't it?" asked Mantis "You're one of the Old Ones, the creators of my species, and many others."

"I've never heard of these Old Ones," said Jenny, her brow furrowed "I was told that our species are Time Lords? Maybe this is what you mean?"

"I know what I mean, Jenny," Mantis replied "You are definitely one of the Old Ones, weather this is two different names for the same thing, I'm unsure."

Jenny was no stranger to the history of the Time Lords. Thinking that it would give her more clues for finding her dad before she joined the Time Agency, she had read up as much as she could on the species, but she had never seen the Time Lords referred to as the Old Ones.

Deciding to ask her dad about it whenever she met up with him again, she put it to the back of her mind for now. Looking over, she saw Mantis and Hope talking animatedly about their respective powers.

"What can you tell me about the Old Ones, Mantis?" asked Jenny "I've read much about the Time Lords, but never heard of the Old Ones. What were they?"

Mantis explained about the Old Ones, how they were responsible for creating her species, as well as various other species throughout the universe. How they were extraordinarily long-lived, and had some psychic ability, some debating that they were the original psychic talent in the galaxy. Some of this lined up with information Jenny already had about Time Lords, but others, like the ability to create species, even worlds, that sort of power just didn't exist in the universe.

As Jenny was contemplating what Mantis was saying, she heard the computer that was analysing the energy start beeping. Looking down, she saw the word 'Match Found'.

"This is far too much of a coincidence," said Jenny "With what you were saying, this can't be accurate."

The energy source that the Xandarian outpost had been studying was void energy.

This feels like a good place to leave you on a cliffhanger. There are a few different concepts introduced here, which will lead into the crossover. The Old Ones are a 40k race that created a few of the popular races that are playable in the game. Void energy is a Doctor Who concept, which essentially refers to the energy between different parallel worlds. I think that the next chapter will be the final chapter before I lead into the crossover.
