Disclaimer: I don't own Ninjago
Thousands of years ago, in the past, the Ninja of Light stole the all but one of the Elemental Powers from the First Spinjitzu Maser and gave them to the greatest fighters in Ninjago. Sixteen warriors were taken from their homes and families and brought to the First Spinjitzu Master's monastery. They were confused to be surrounded by strangers and even more confused with the First Spinjitzu Master and a man made entirely of light standing above them. Suddenly, the man of light transferred energy from the First Spinjitzu Master to the warriors and everyone was in pain for a moment. After he finished, everyone in the room had elemental powers. Eight males had the power of either Earth, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Gravity, Metal, Smoke and Shadow. The eight females had the powers of either Wind, Sound, Nature, Water, Form, Mind, Poison and Speed. The Ninja of Light crossed his arms as the First Spinjitzu Master looked down at amazement.
"This is incredible. Elemental Masters." The First Spinjitzu Master said.
"Now we have power in numbers. No mortal man will be harmed in the coming battle." The Ninja of Light said.
"Coming battle? You're going to send these people out to fight that madman? They're untrained." The Master said.
"These are the greatest warriors and fighters in Ninjago. I know this because I chose them all for a reason." Light said.
"I don't care who they are. You give them elemental powers and expect them to fight a war that isn't their own?" The Master said angrily.
"Excuse me?" Someone said.
Both gods turned their heads.
"We do have ears." The new Fire Master said as he floated in air.
"Hey, you're flying!" The lightning master said, pointing.
A bolt of electricity escaped from his fingers and almost shot the Fire Master.
"Hey! Watch it." The Fire Master yelled.
"Oops. Sorry." The lightning master apologized.
"Do you see this!? Untrained! We send them out there and they die!" The Master said.
"Loses in war are inevitable." The Ninja of Light said.
"You can't be this stubborn!" The First Spinjitzu Master yelled.
"I am like this because of you, Yoshi." The Ninja of Light said.
"Wh…What?" The Master asked.
The Ninja of Light touched the First Spinjitzu Master's head with both hands. The sides of the Master's head began to glow and so did his eyes. Everyone watched them as this happened. The Ninja of Light showed the Master a vision of the future. A future that would become a reality in a least twenty years. The Ninja of Light removed his hands.
"That was surreal. I…did that to you? I created you?" The First Spinjitzu Master asked.
"To an extent…yes. But not just yet. And if we don't stop the Society now, that will never happen." The Ninja of Light said.
The First Spinjitzu Master was in awe
"The world will be a safer place because of those events to happen, Master, but none of it will come true if the Society and Mako destroy us all tonight." The Ninja of Light told him.
"…Very well, but I am still uneasy." The Master said as he looked down at the Elemental masters.
"Don't be. They will do just fine." The Ninja of Light said as he looked at them.
"What's going on?" The Water master asked.
"Where are we?" The Ice master asked.
The Ninja of Light and the First Spinjitzu Master told them why they were here and what had happened to the village a few hours before. The Society of Ghosts and the Shadows had to be stopped, tonight, or all would die. The Elementals were shocked.
"We need your help. Ninjago…needs your help." The First Spinjitzu Master said.
"I can't speak for everyone, but…I'm in." The Earth Master said.
"As am I." The Metal Master said.
"We all are." The Mind master said after reading everyone's minds.
"Now what?" The First Spinjitzu Master asked.
"We need weapons." The Ninja of Light said.
The Ninja of Light raised his hands and they started to glow. Suddenly, a blacksmith was teleported to the room. This man would later become the Master of Weapons.
"What the? Where am I? Who are you people? Why is he on fire?" The blacksmith asked frantically.
"Hey! She's got poison coming off her and you judge me?" The Fire Master asked.
The Ninja of Light teleported in front of the blacksmith.
"Ah! Don't eat me." The blacksmith said.
"I wouldn't dare. Blacksmiths taste like charcoal." The Ninja of Light joked. "We need weapons, and you're the one to build them."
"You can't keep teleporting people against their will, Light." The First Spinjitzu Master shook his head.
"What do you mean weapons? Like swords?" The blacksmith asked.
"No, blacksmith, not just swords, but the weapons you've dreamed about creating for years now." Light said.
"I don't know what you're talking about." The Blacksmith said.
"Yes, you do. Scythes. Shurikens. Nunchucks." The Ninja of Light said.
"How, how do you know about those? I haven't told anybody." The Blacksmith said.
"I know this because you are the greatest Blacksmith in the world. And I have seen your weapons in the future." Light told him.
"Who is this guy, and why does he freak me out?" The Lightning master asked.
"Our world is in danger and we will die if you don't help us. Save the world. Save Ninjago." Light said.
"Alright…I'll do it, but I need time." The blacksmith said.
"You have two hours." Light said.
"What happens then?" The Shadow master asked.
"Darkness comes." The Ninja of Light said.
After that, the blacksmith stayed at the monastery and began working on the weapons. The Ninja of Light teleported everyone home to let their families know they were OK. The First Spinjitzu Master, then made all the villagers stay up in his home for the time being. The blacksmith worked and worked. He pounded the metal with his hammer until it took shape, he heated in his fire, and finally cooled it off with water. Two hours passed and the blacksmith was finished.
"Here. Take what you want." The blacksmith said as he pulled a sheet off a table.
On the table were numerous different weapons. Weapons no one had ever seen before. Everyone was amazed by all of them. Pretty soon, everyone was reaching for weapons.
"What are these?" The Lightning master asked.
"Those are Nunchucks. Give them a spin." The blacksmith said.
The Lightning master did as he was told and spun his new weapon. The stick at the other end was spinning quickly and the master had a smile on his face.
"Cool." The lightning master said.
One of his nunchucks then hit his head.
"Ow!"
The blacksmith quickly walked away from the lightning master and noticed the Ice Master pick up two Shurikens.
"Fascinating." The ice master said.
"Those are shurikens. Flick your wrist and throw them that way." The blacksmith said as he pointed to a wall.
The Ice Master did as he was told and threw his new weapons. The Shurikens floated in air, crossed path with each other and made their way back to the Ice Master, who caught them.
"Amazing!" He said.
The Metal Master found two large gauntlets and placed them on his hands. When he pounded his fists together, not only did his entire body coat with metal, but he also grew a few inches in size. The Master of Metal laughed and deep laugh and patted the blacksmith on his back, not knowing he caused some pain.
"These weapons are mighty, friend. You are truly talented." Karloff laughed.
"Indeed, he truly is a Master of Weapons." The Ninja of Light smiled.
"Yes, he is. You'll have to teach me how to make weapons one day." The First Spinjitzu Master said. "Can you use any metal? Gold, for example?"
One by one, all the Elemental Masters picked up a weapon. Although some were the same as others, each one was brand new to them all. The only one who had picked a weapon was the Master of Fire. The blacksmith walked over to him.
"Is there a problem?" The blacksmith asked.
"No, nothing. Your weapons are truly magnificent, it's just that…with us facing a dangerous enemy, I'd prefer to use a weapon I'm comfortable with, and I in no way mean any disrespect for you." The Master of Fire said.
"I understand completely." The blacksmith said.
The blacksmith reached under the table and pulled out a katana. He handed it to the Fire Master.
"It's light." Fire said while holding it.
"It may be light, but it's sharp, sharper than anything in this room." The blacksmith said.
The Master of Fire pulled the sword out of its sheath and looked it over. The handle was black, the blade was silver and on the blade was the design of fire. Almost like it was made for the master.
"I should warn you of the dark powers this blade has." The blacksmith said.
"Oh." The fire master said.
"I made the blade specifically for the Underworld Sorcerer, Clouse, in exchange for him not destroying my village. He took the blade and cursed it so that any victim that falls to the blade, their soul would be trapped in the sword forever until they aided the current wielder for however many years they've been alive." The blacksmith said.
"How on Earth did you get it back?" The Fire Master asked.
"I don't know. Many years passed by when suddenly it was at my doorstep. I've kept it with me ever since. I figured I'd give it to a great warrior someday. Someone who is worthy and responsible to wield it." The blacksmith explained.
The Fire Master smiled and swung the blade in the air and twirled it in his fingers. He certainly was a master of the blade.
"Everyone, listen." The Ninja of Light said.
Everyone looked at him.
"I wanted to thank you all beforehand, for helping us protect the innocent from the Society. I may not get a chance to after the battle." Light started.
"What do you mean?" The First Spinjitzu Master asked.
"I mean, not all of us may not survive. Although the future of the battle is unclear, there are loses with every war. Not all of us will make it back." The Ninja of Light said.
"Well, aren't you mister sunshine." The lightning master said.
Once all the Elementals had their weapons and armor given to them, they walked down the many stairs of the monastery and waited on the ground. It was midnight when all of them were on the ground. The sky was black and the moon was high. The eighteen ninjas and kunoichi all anticipated the battle to come. Suddenly, an arrow covered in dark matter was shot in the ground in front of them.
They looked upon where it was fired and saw one Shadow stand on top a hill.
"Is…Is that it?" The Smoke master asked.
Just then, a thousand more Shadows came over the horizon. This army was ten times the size as the last one. A cloaked figure, Mako, stepped through the crowd. He raised his head and you could see his purple eyes. The Elemental Masters were uneasy. They were glad to help, but eighteen warriors, including the Master and Light, were not going to do much against an army. Mako saw the Ninja of Light standing next to the First Spinjitzu Master.
"First Spinjitzu Master, you have the power of light on your side. But the Overlord has the power of Darkness on his!" Mako yelled as he threw off his cloak.
Wearing nothing but tattered pants, everyone saw Mako standing before them. He was now covered black from the Dark Matter raining on him before. His hair was also black, but his teeth and claws were white. Strapped to his back was a katana.
"Mako?" The First Spinjitzu Master said in disbelief.
"He has become the first of many pawns to the Overlord. I will deal with him, you all kill the Shadows. Remember, damage the brain and the Shadow can't heal himself." The Ninja of Light said before flying towards Mako.
"Attack!" Mako yelled.
The Shadows all ran toward the monastery. The Ninja of Light flew at Mako and punched the ground where he stood. Mako had taken to the skies seconds earlier so he was fine. The Ninja of Light flew up to him and they both started to attack each other. Meanwhile, the Shadows were charging towards the elements, who were terrified.
"What do we do, Master?" The Fire Master asked.
The First Spinjitzu Master pondered for a moment. All these people would die without his guidance. They haven't been trained to use the Elements, so he would train them now.
"Earth Master, shake the ground they walk on!" The Master yelled.
"I-I-I don't think I c-can." The Earth master said.
"Yes, you can. You can all use the elements. You just must focus. Place your hands on the ground, feel the dirt and rocks beneath you. Earth is your planet and your element. Use it. Shake the Earth." The master said.
During this, the Earth Master was following the Master's instructions. As the Shadows got closer, the Earth Master began to shake the ground they walked on. This caused the Shadows to all fall over.
"Now, create a wall for us!" The First Spinjitzu Master ordered.
The Earth Master pulled the ground up and a decent size wall protected them.
"Water! Ice! Up the wall." The Master said.
Both of them quickly climb the wall and once they reached the top, they knew what to do before the Master could even say. The Water Master sprayed water on all the Shadows up front. As the shadows were standing up, they fell back over after water was thrown on them. After soaking all the Shadows, she could, the Ice Master then froze the water covered Shadows. They all froze in an instant.
"Metal!" The Master yelled.
The Metal Master punched his fists together and he became covered in metal. He then jumped over the wall and landed on the frozen Shadows, shattering them within seconds.
"The rest of you, defend your home!" The Master yelled.
Filled with inspiration and hope, all the remaining Elementals jumped over the wall and began attacking the massive army. The Smoke master would appear in front and quickly disappear before their eyes. The lightning master brought down many bolts of lightning which struck the Shadows in the head. The Fire Master would strike the Shadows heads with his sword, trapping their souls inside and then burned a few others. The Mind Master would control the Shadows in front of her fight each other. The Form Master would take the form of the king, only to confuse the Shadows. The Poison Master emitted a poison from her body so severe that it caused their skin to melt. The Speed Master would run by the Shadows, striking their heads with her knives. The Nature Master caused trees to sprout out of the ground, throwing the Shadows in the air. The Sound Master produced a sound so loud that it obliterated the Shadows in front of her. The Wind Master blew a wind so hard, it was almost tornado like. The Gravity Master lifted a number of Shadows in the air and dropped them on their heads. The Shadow Master, after realizing he couldn't control them, escaped into the Darkness of the Night and pulled the Shadows into the shadow realm with him.
Shadows would die quickly, but more continued to come and fight. They just kept coming over the hill. But the Elementals didn't stop. They continued to fight and pushed their way through the army. They were taking damage though. Such as cuts and bruises. But nothing too major, not yet.
Light punched Mako in his face and blood came out of his mouth. Mako wiped away the blood and growled.
"Your powers are nothing. You were given the dark, I was born in the Light!" The Ninja of Light said.
Light heat vision came from his eyes, but Mako blasted purple energy out of his hands, deflecting it. They stopped at the same time and Mako grabbed Light by his throat and began to squeeze.
"I will put you out." Mako said.
The Ninja of Light blasted his energy from his hands and Mako fell on top of a small cliff, a hill almost. The Ninja of Light landed next to him with his eyes glowing.
"Time to end this." Light said.
Mako quickly grabbed his katana and sliced through the Ninja of Light's thigh. Although godly, the Ninja still felt pain and yelled. Mako stood up and the katana became coated with dark matter.
"You may be powerful, but your weakness is still the Dark!" Mako told him.
A katana made entirely of light constructed from The Ninja of Light's hands.
"Then yours is light." He said.
Both warriors swung their blades and hit the other, making a clang sound. Light pushed Mako away and sliced his chest, making the King yelled. They swung their blades again repeatedly and each attack was blocked by the other. Mako jumped in the air and swung his sword down, but the Ninja of Light jumped back. When Mako landed, the Ninja of Light quickly ran up and punched him again.
"I will kill you." The King said.
The elemental masters found themselves surrounded by Shadows. More wounds became present. The Earth master had a scar go down his face, the poison master lost a finger, the Shadow Master was stabbed in the leg, but throughout all of that, they kept fighting. Each was determined to protect their home land from these monsters. Not only did they protect themselves, but they also protected each other.
The Poison Master was knocked over and a Shadow prepared to kill her. However, the Smoke master phased his hand through the Shadow's head and killed it. He reached his hand down and the Poison Master took it. He lifted her up.
"You alright?" He asked.
"I'm fine, thank you." She smiled.
He smiled back and she saw another Shadow throw a knife at his head.
"Look out!" She yelled as she pushed him aside.
She quickly spewed acid from her hands and it melted the knife and the Shadow's head.
"Now, we're even." Poison winked at Smoke.
Mako shoved his blade in the Ninja of Light's stomach and kept it there. The Ninja of Light yelled to the sky and the King of the Society of Ghost punched him to the ground. Mako chuckled and looked at the Shadows as they began to overpower the masters. He laughed harder now. With his back turned, the Ninja of Light removed his blade and began to heal himself.
The Shadows continued to fight and grow in numbers as they fought the masters. It seemed their army was endless. The Elemental Masters were becoming worried again as more Shadows took over when one died. All seemed lost.
"We're gonna die!" The Lightning master yelled.
"Think positive!" The wind master said as she killed a Shadow.
He thought for a second then replied.
"We're gonna die quickly!"
The First Spinjitzu Master looked around and saw that he was in the center of the battlefield. The war raged on as the Elementals fought off a hoard of Shadows. As one Shadow died, five more took their place. The Shadows were overpowering the Masters with every second. When the Ninja of Light told them that not all would make it back, those words stuck with the First Spinjitzu Master throughout the entire battle. One Shadow ran towards the master, but he blasted his golden energy at its head, killing it.
"I cannot allow this!" The First Spinjitzu Master said.
The First Spinjitzu Master bent his knees, opened his hands and started to glow gold. His eyes began to glow as well and his hands too. He started to glow so bright, that everyone stopped fighting and looked at him.
"I am the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master." He said.
After that, a wave of golden energy escaped from his body and vaporized the Shadows around him, but protected the Elemental Masters. All the Shadows within twenty feet of the master all died. However, there were still thousands of others around them, but none of them took a step forward. The first Spinjitzu Master, weak, fell on the ground and the masters raced to his aid.
"NO!" Mako yelled.
The Ninja of Light then impaled his blade in the King's back. Blood escaped from his mouth and the Ninja of Light pulled his sword out. Mako fell on his knees and everyone was looking up at them now. The King of the Society tried to get up, but he was too weak. The Ninja of Light was behind him and prepared to swing his sword for a final time.
"Any last words?" Light asked.
"Oroku…My grandson… Wipe them out…" Mako said weakly.
Mako's eyes looked away from his army and looked at the Elemental Masters, who helped the First Spinjitzu Master back on his feet.
"…All of them." Mako said.
The Ninja of Light then swung his blade and cut off Mako's head, which fell from the small cliff and landed on the ground. It rolled to one Shadow's foot. His body fell over and the blood dripping from his neck landed on a nest of snake eggs, which began to glow. The Shadows looked at the Ninja of Light and then at Mako's corpse.
"Retreat." One Shadow, Khan, said.
All the Shadows retreated into the darkness and disappeared. The Elementals all cheered when the last Shadow was gone. They hugged, they clapped, they celebrated knowing they had won the first of many battles. The Ninja of Light teleported to them all and looked around. He quickly counted and saw that they all survived. The Ninja of Light pulled back his mask and smiled.
"I was wrong."
The Elementals all cheered one more time and the First Spinjitzu Master patted the Ninja of Light on his back.
"Now what?" The Fire Master asked as he put his sword on his back.
"Now, we train." The First Spinjitzu Master said.
Once the Ninja unlock their Ultimate Potential, we'll find out more about the Ninja of Light, but until then, this is his story. Next chapter we get back to the ninja and kunoichi and find out what happened to Cyrus.
