Chapter Twenty-Six: Secrets Out

-Monday Night RAW, 2.2.15-

Miz sat on a stack of boxes cross-legged while watching RAW. He pulled out his black iPhone six as he heard Curtis Axel's music hit. He groaned. Axel was so boring. No one liked anything about this man, or cared about him. However, one thing you could argue was that the man had pretty cool theme music.

The blue eyed Superstar went through his twitter feed as Axel rambled on, saying how he was never eliminated, blah, blah, blah.

However, as soon as he heard the music that belonged to Dean Ambrose blare through the Pepsi Center, his blues were looking at that television screen in front of him once again.

Miz was interested in what Dean had to say. After all, Ambrose was the one judging him after the Rumble, and he didn't even know him.

He rolled his eyes as he listened to all the fans scream for Dean. Or should he say fangirls. He had no idea what the hell they were screaming about. He wasn't even that good looking. Maybe it was because he had a roughness to him, either way, Miz still found it ridiculous.

Dean Ambrose walked down to the ring, as he watched Axel run his mouth. He quickly slid into the ring, going right after Minnesota native, throwing a couple of right hands. Once he was happy with the amount of punches he threw, the Lunatic Fringe easily tossed Axel out of the ring. "Now you're eliminated!" The Ohio native exclaimed, getting a positive reaction from the crowd.

He readjusted the leather jacket he was wearing so it sat on his shoulders correctly. He then picked up a mic that laid in the middle of the ring. "Since everyone is out here making demands," he started, pacing the ring. "I have some demands of my own!"

"After the Royal Rumble last week, I decided to take a long walk, clear my head." He stopped pacing for a moment, tapping on the side of his temple. Even though Mike didn't want to admit it, when Dean delivered one of his promos, you had no choice but to pay attention, because he was that captivating.

"I trudged my way through all of that snow, getting to WWE headquarters. Once I got inside, I took a look around. I found a wall with a lot of nice lookin' pictures on it. Past WWE Champions, former IC champions. All the greats. Then I started thinkin'..." he paused for a moment moment, a slight smirk crossing his lips. "I take a nice mug shot. My face would look great on that wall!"

The smiled faded from his face, and the Lunatic Fringe suddenly became very serious. "Two weeks ago I pinned intercontinental champion Bad News Barrett. That means I'm in line for a title match! And I'm afraid I got some bad news!" He said, doing an impression of Wade.

"I'm coming after that title, and I'm going to get my face on that wall at WWE headquarters. Strap yourself in for a wild ride with Dean Ambrose on the road to FastLane!" He added before carelessly tossing the mic behind him.

The crowd erupted with cheers once again as Dean threw himself around wildly, causing his jacket to come off one shoulder again. While his back was turned, Axel saw this as his opportunity, and attacked Dean from behind.

Axel grabbed Dean's leather jacket, throwing it out of the ring as he hit Dean in the face, as well as stomping all over his body.

However, the midcarder quickly realized that Dean Ambrose was no one to mess with, because as soon as he had the change, the Lunatic Fringe hit Axel with a clothesline that would send him into next week. Which was rapidly followed up by Dirty Deeds.

Miz shook his head as he watched Dean from backstage. He still couldn't understand why all of the fans were behind him.

But, whatever.

He jumped off of the boxes as soon as he saw Dean come backstage. "So I see you're going after a title that I know very well," he said to Ambrose.

The Lunatic Fringe couldn't help but to chuckle slightly. This guy never really did know when to keep his mouth shut. "Yeah, what's it to you?" He bitterly questioned. "Because last time I checked, all you were was a reality TV star."

Mike growled, his blue eyes darkening. "Just know that you will never be as good of an IC champ as me, Ambrose! No matter how hard you try!"

Another laugh left the lips of Ambrose. "If I had to guess, I would say that your….what's the word I'm looking for…." he thought for a moment as he tapped his chin. "Envious. Are you jealous of me, Miz?" The Ohio native pressed, knowing that he was slowly getting under Miz's skin.

"Shut the fuck up, Ambrose. I don't have anything to be jealous when it comes to you." He spat before walking away. It was clear that he was in no mood.

Later that night, Mizdow was currently making Miz a fruit salad, following his all of Miz's instructions. "More blueberries," he told his stunt double. The Ohio native quickly shook his head. "Less blueberries," he said. "One more blueberry."

However, as soon as someone came over and asked for an autograph, he was glowing with pride. All of that went away for Miz though when the man asked Mizdow for his autograph instead.

Mizdow's face light up with happiness. He always did love the people. "Of course!" He said happily, signing the paper before handing it back to the man. "Here you go."

Although, Miz was not happy about this at all. In fact, some people would say that Miz came off as jealous. His facial expression quickly turned to anger, a slight laugh leaving him as he took the picture out of the man's hands before ripping it up. The man walked away sadly.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Mike asked with a shake of the head once the nerd was gone, Mizdow mocking his actions of course."We both know how the story plays out, don't we? We both know how this story plays out, a real star throws a bone to a nobody, and it goes to that nobody's head. He becomes an arrogant jerk. Do you remember what you were doing before you met me?" Miz asked his stunt double.

"You were wearing ridiculous costumes, and losing. You were an absolute joke," he coolly told Mizdow, but he quickly lost his cool the longer Mizdow mocked his actions. "Stop it! Stop this! Stop mocking me and listen!" He snapped, causing Damien to freeze in his tracks. "I made you my stunt double, and what happened!? I made you relevant! I made you a tag team champion! I made you have a purpose in life!" Miz raged, as he started to become red in the face.

"Now you're throwing it away because of your ego!" He ragged on, pointing a finger at Damien. "You ungrateful, tenantless human prop! You are the worst stunt double I have ever seen! Well...no more, Mizdow! No More!" He continued to scream as Damien hung his head in shame. "Because you….are fired."

Mizdow slowly looked up at the Ohio native, and there seemed to be a look of sadness and confusion. He wasn't sure if he had heard Miz correctly.

"But….I''m really big into giving," Miz said after a few moments. "So I'm going to give you a new job," he cheerfully added. "You are gonna be my personal assistant!" The look on Mizdow's face, however, let the blue eyed Superstar know that Damien wasn't exactly happy about this. "What?" He questioned. "You don't wanna be my personal assistant?" He questioned with a shake of his head. "You wanna go back to what you were doing before, see what happens?"

It was at this moment Mizdow began to mock Mike again. "Let me paint a picture for you," the cleveland native started. "Tonight I have a match again Sin Cara! You know what Sin Cara means in spanish? It means faceless. Which is exactly what you will be if you define me."

"Stop this!" He suddenly snapped, facing Mizdow who didn't listen at all, continuing to mock Miz and his actions. "Stop this right now! Stop it! You are no longer my stunt double! You get it!? Do you get it!? You are a personal assistant! So go and make my protein shake with extra strawberries! Thank you!" Miz finished, as he put on his sunglasses, and walked away from his former stunt double.

The night would only get worse for Miz when he would later lose his match against Sin Cara. Mizdow had gone out to ringside during his match of course. But Mike was screaming at him most of the time. Damien always messed everything up for him, or so it seemed.

Mike's week went from bad to worse. He had yet to see Eve all week, and he missed her terribly. She promised him that the two of them could meet Friday night for dinner though. She also mentioned that there was something for them to talk about. When he asked her what it was, her response to him was it's much better to be spoken about in person. That alone made him nervous.

-Thursday Night Smackdown, February 5th, 2015-

Tonight, Miz would be hosting Miz TV. But as usual, it didn't end well for the Ohio native. He hadn't even got the chance to get to words out before Roman Reigns punched him in the mouth. Not only that, but the Samoan Thor took it upon himself to throw out all of the furniture as well.

Needless to say, this angered Miz. Who did Roman think he was, coming onto his TV set and punching him in the face? Miz shook his head. He was really starting to dislike Roman more and more. It didn't help that he associated himself with Sasha. He would never forgive Roman Reigns little pet for attacking Eve. Not ever.

His anger was in full swing when he had done his interview with Renee Young. He explained to the blonde how he was angry because his show was canceled yet again. He didn't have to invite Roman onto his show, but he did out of kindness. His interview had ended with him challenging Roman to a match tonight.

The Ohio native put up a good fight, being very determined to show Roman Reigns that he meant what he said. He no longer wanted to be taken a joke. He had lost the match, however. Though what mattered most to him was he did try his best, regardless of the fact that he had lost.

He went back to his locker room, taking a long shower. He then changed into his street clothes before grabbing his iPhone out of his gym bag. His blue eyes immediately landing on the text from Eve.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow, so we should do breakfast instead of dinner. We really do need to have this talk. -Eve

A heavy sigh left his lips as he ran a hand through his wet hair. She was really making him nervous.

Excited to see you too. Maybe we could meet in my room and order room service for breakfast? - I'm awesome.

Sounds great. See you soon. - Eve

Another sigh left his body as he carelessly tossed his phone back inside his gym bag. It was going to be a long night.

Meanwhile, Renee Young had just overheard news that she wished she hadn't. She overheard Steph explaining to Roman how Dean's house had burnt down. To make matters worse, his dog had also been inside at the time.

She hadn't really spoken to Dean much, outside of the interviews of course. It's not that she didn't consider Dean Ambrose an….approachable person. Sure he was. Otherwise Roman wouldn't be such great friends with him.

After looking throughout the the arena for the Unstable Superstar, she finally found him outside leaning against the bricked wall of the arena smoking a cigarette. "Those things aren't good for you," she said quietly once she had approached him.

The Lunatic Fringe simply shrugged one shoulder. "They haven't killed me yet," he muttered, throwing it to the ground as he stomped it into the dirt to put it out. "So what's up?"

"I just overheard something I think you need to hear," she mumbled.

"And what would that be?" Dean questioned, his blue eyes meeting her brown ones.

"I overheard Setph telling Roman how your house in Las Vegas was burned down to the ground," she quietly started, watching his face carefully as she decided if she should tell him what else she knew. After a moment, she decided it was best to get it all out. "Your….your dog was in there when your house burnt down to the ground, Dean. I'm so sorry."

Dean's face immediately went blank. The Ohio native stood there, no emotion on his face. No matter hard as Renee tried, she couldn't read him. It took her aback slightly, wondering if she should've just kept this to herself. "I can give you a lift back to the hotel if you want." The blonde quietly offered, slightly shifting from one foot to the other. It bothered her that she still couldn't read him.

Dean lazily shrugged a shoulder, letting her know that he agreed, but that it also didn't matter to him if she gave a ride or not. He could easily walk.

The two got into Renee's rental car, and she instantly put on the heat. As she drove, she kept her eyes on the road, but she also stole quick glances at Dean every now and then. It bothered her that he still hadn't said a word.

The Canadian blonde parked the car, and turned it off. She and Dean both got out of the car, and walked to the trunk to retrieve their things. They had both moved at the same time, however. Causing their hands to brush. "I'm sorry," Renee quietly mumbled.

"Nothing to apologize for," Dean replied. "Thanks for the ride. I'll see you around," he added, throwing his gym bag over his shoulder as he walked into the hotel to get himself a room for the night.

When Miz woke up the next morning, he got in the shower right away. He took a little longer than usual, but he was trying so hard to calm his nerves. He knew that Eve would be here shortly, and he was scared of the talk they were going to have.

Forty-five minutes later there was a knock at his door. He opened it to find Eve standing on the other side. "Pajama day?" She smiled.

Mike returned the smile. "I didn't know girls wear makeup on pajama days," he laughed. "What do you wanna have for breakfast?"

"French toast of course!"

Mike laughed again. "Of course you want french toast Eve. Let me guess, pancakes too?"

Eve nodded her head, giving him the cutest look she could manage. "Please?"

The Ohio native ordered breakfast for them, and once it had arrived, the two friends sat on the bed. "So what is this talk we need to have?" He whispered.

"Mikey…..about a week ago, I overheard something…..something I know that you need to know…." she slowly started, her heart pounding out of her chest.

"Wh-What is it?" He whispered back, dropping his fork as he forced himself to swallow her current bite of pancakes.

"I know who killed Maryse and Kelly, Mikey." She whispered, taking his hand into hers as a way to comfort him.

"You...you've known for a week and you didn't say anything?" He asked her, shaking his head as he pulled his hand out of hers. "Who did it?" He finally questioned, finding the courage. Though the Denver native barely heard him.

"It was Summer." She answered, her voice was just as quiet, as well as shaky. "Summer is the one who killed both of them."

"Fuck!" Mike suddenly screamed as he threw his glass plate into the wall. Sobs left his body moments later as he buried his face into his hands, his body trembling.

"Shhh," Eve soothed, moving so that she now sat beside him. She took his body into her arms, stroking his hair as she listened to him sob. It broke her heart to listen to him cry like that. She never, ever saw this side of Mike. Unless he was truly, truly hurting, and she knew he was.

"It's okay, Mikey. It's alright," she whispered into his ear. "It's okay, it's alright. Just let it all go, it's okay…." she closed her eyes as ran her fingers through his brown hair. Her best friend, the man she was in love with, was a broken mess and she didn't know how to fix him.

"I fucking trusted her," she sobbed. "Not only did she stabbed me in the back, but she killed the girl I really cared about, and her best friend." He shook his head, becoming angry. "I don't ever want to speak to her again! Not ever!"

"You don't have to," she said quietly as she held onto him tight, her fingers still running through his hair. "I'm here for you, you know that."

Mike lifted his head, his face soaked with tears, his usual bright blue eyes bloodshot. He wasn't sure why, but one look into the beautiful green eyes that belonged to Eve, he knew what he had to do.

The next thing he knew, his lips were on hers, and the two friends were sharing a kiss that he so desperately needed.
