"Look. I've tried as hard as I could to impress you, but it seems clear that I just can't live up to your standards and I'm sorry. But the thing is, I love your daughter and she loves me. We make each other happy and to me, that's what's most important. I'll always respect you as Kairi's father and as mayor of the islands but no matter what, she will always be the one that comes first. As long as she still wants to see me, there is nothing you can say or do to keep me away from her. The only thing that will change my mind is if she says it and means it." Sora finished in a huff, Kairi lingering behind her father; feeling a mixture of being proud and mortified at the same time.

Kairi's father's shoulders relaxed and he took a step to the side, letting Kairi and Sora clearly see each other, "Alright."

"Alright?" Sora asked breathlessly and confused, "That's it?" He had expected a full blown confrontation and Kairi seemed surprised as well.

"You stood up for yourself. That's something I can respect." He completely backed off, heading back into the house before adding, "Don't forget about curfew."

"Yes, sir." He nodded, his eyes still wide in shock.

Once the door was closed, Kairi smiled and clapped her hands together, "Way to go, Sora!"

"Thanks." He smiled sheepishly and laughed, "I won't lie. I'm shaking so hard right now. That was so much worse than taking on any sort of heartless."

She walked over and wrapped her arms around his neck, Sora feeling the anxiety slip away as she lightly pressed against him, "You did great." Leaning in for a kiss, she added, "I love you."

He wrapped his arms around her waist, closing the distance between them, "I love you too."
